ST. LOUIS -- After spending last season in a familiar place, Martin Rucinsky is returning to another.

Rucinsky, who completed his third tour of duty with the New York Rangers last season, signed a contract Wednesday with the St. Louis Blues, who employed the left wing in 2002-03.

Terms were not disclosed.

A veteran of 14 NHL campaigns, Rucinsky recorded 16 goals and 39 assists in 52 games in 2005-06 with New York, where he also played parts of the 2001-02 and 2003-04 seasons. In between, the 35-year-old skated with St. Louis, registering 16 tallies and 30 points in 61 contests.

"In Martin, we have added a veteran goal scorer witih proven leadership skills to our lineup today," Blues president John Davidson said. "We are happy to have an opportunity to acquire a player of Martin's ability and look forward to his second stint with the St. Louis Blues."

Drafted 20th overall by Edmonton in 1991, Rucinsky has reached the 20-goal plateau four times, including 1995-96, when he scored a career-high 29. In 869 games with the Oilers, Quebec-Colorado franchise, Montreal Canadiens, Dallas Stars, Rangers, Blues and Vancouver Canucks, he has collected 224 tallies and 339 assists.

A native of the Czech Republic, Rucinsky has represented his country in three Winter Olympics, winning the gold medal in 1998 and bronze this past February.
