Who do you see coming out of the East?

I know it's early to start making predictions, but who do you see coming out of the East? Do you see value on the futures market for anyone?

I like the Penguins at this point, but most likely to knock them of is Boston SBR sportsbook has Penguins at +350 and Bruins at +650. Going to put down 100 points down on the Bruins. Yes, homer play to some extent, but also think it is good value at this point. They have the goalie, depth and are in pretty good position to make a trade or two to upgrade. Big question will be do they trade rask.

So who is your pick and do you consider them or anyone else worth a play?

    The B's obviously

Non homer comment - will be tough vs. the Pens. A 5 upcoming game prediction would be something along the following lines -

With Crosby back the Penguins will be on a pretty big high and have 2 more home games to build up that confidence before embarking on a road trip and then coming back home to play against Boston early next month. I see them piling up the points fast should they go on the road with the same flair they showed last night.

To add some content re: Bruins - I think the roll they're on right now will continue way into the playoffs.

They shook off the October cold streak like nobodies business and are absolutely steamrolling right now. Not to mention Thomas is so hot right now he probably melted off the pipes in Montreal last night.

There is a 3 point distance to cover between them and the Penguins, however, B's have 2 games less. Hopefully we keep the road recording going against the Sabres - the only game I see as tough from the upcoming ones for the Bruins.

Wings and Jets @ home should hopefully be a breeze - of course no such thing in the NHL, but they will be coming off from a day of rest.

Lots of more hockey to play, however you also need to keep in mind the Pens will be hosting a game soon and that could be a clincher and show of things to come.

I wouldn't dare comment in the longer run to be honest. Let's continue this discussion after a week or so?

As for the bet - I think those are pretty good odds and I might put a buck or two on those odds as they're most certainly coming down should the Bruins continue their run deep into December.
