    Chase the TIE with SPANKMYTHIGHS

This is the beginning of my TIE chase on all hockey teams, no exceptions. Since there were an average of about 18-20 ties per team last year, I figured I would give it a shot since you get 3 to 1 on your money which is better than dozens in roulette. Each team should average going to overtime every 5 or so games. I think Buffalo is the only team yet to go to extra time. I will be using a progression system and a larger bankroll. With a large enough bankroll, this is a guaranteed winning system but will take alot of patience and organization which I will keep track of. Lets get started. There are four games tonight so I will be betting 1 unit per team so tonight we will bet 2 units per game and carry on from there. Below are all the teams in the NHL and everyday I will have the date above the list of teams with the unit needed to bet if they are playing that night. I will post an outlined progression of units shortly. I will be betting to win 1 unit. Because hitting a tie is 3 to 1, we can bet 1 unit per team for their first 3 games. Here we go:

    Friday October 28th, 2011

    Anaheim
    Calgary - 1 Unit
    Chicago - 1 Unit
    Colorado - 1 Unit
    Columbus
    Dallas
    Edmonton - 1 Unit
    LA
    Minnesota
    Nashville
    Phoenix
    San Jose - 1 Unit
    St. Louis - 1 Unit
    Vancouver
    Boston
    Buffalo
    Carolina - 1 Unit
    Florida
    Detroit - 1 Unit
    New Jersey
    NYI
    NYR
    Ottawa
    Philadelphia
    Pittsburgh
    Tampa Bay
    Toronto
    Washington
    Winnepeg

    Let's make some money!

Oh, and hitting in the first 2 games of chasing a team will be a bonus because we will make more than the 1 unit we are after.

so each team had a draw 1 out of 4 games roughly last year and you are getting 3/1 on your money on average....sounds like a break even at BEST

What? I don't think you understand the progressive betting being used. With 3 - 1 odds, here is the pattern:

    *each unit worth $100
    ---------------------Cost------------Win----------------Profit--------
    Game 1 - 1 unit -------0--------------300---------------- 300
    Game 2 - 1 unit ------100-------------300-----------------200
    Game 3 - 1 unit ------200-------------300-----------------100
    Game 4 - 1.4 units ---300-------------420-----------------120
    Game 5 - 1.8 units ---440-------------540-----------------100
    Game 6 - 2.4 units ---620-------------720-----------------100
    Game 7 - 3.2 units ---860-------------960-----------------100
    Game 8 - 4.3 units ---1180------------1280----------------100
    Game 9 - 5.7 units ---1610------------1710----------------100
    Game 10 - 7.67 units -2180------------2300----------------120

Breakeven? Nope. Now I wouldn't expect anyone to play $100 a unit unless you have a massive bankroll. I won't till I build it up.

Why do u put one unit in each team??

At bet365 the offer the tie (3 way match) at 4.00 (+300), so this way u only bet one unit per game and not per time! Or am I getting something wrong?

I am using a progression system so in order to this, I will bet every team until they tie and then start the progression over. Some games will have one team only betting one unit while the other may be 2 or 3 units because they haven't tied in 5 or 6 games. So the total for that particular game would be 1 unit + 2 units and so on.

So far this system is -6 Units. So if you are betting $100 a unit u would be -$600.

So how long would you chase them for? I mean Buffalo has played 10 straight without an OT, Columbus at 8, and a couple others at 7.

I will chase them till they get to overtime. Last year Anaheim had a 14-game streak with no overtime. You have to have a healthy bankroll in order to do this and alot of organization. I have a grid that I use to keep track of everything and follow the progression exactly. You also have to cut this well short of the post season or you will get burnt. I have done this before and never lost money. You will always be up using this system. 30 teams x 16-18 average games going to overtime per season, per team = +480 - +540 units per year. I would say that is a pretty gd living.

It just all depends on your unit size but yes u do. You can spread your bankroll around to different bookies too just make sure you are getting similar odds.

Your wins will start to ease the blow and will come at opportune times. It is also a bonus when a team goes into OT back-to-back games and even 3 games in a row. Those are the best.

I remember a couple of years ago, when San Jose didn't go to overtime in something like 20-25 straight games, many people went broke using this system. And they were only chasing one team. Imagine you will be chasing 3 or more teams on a 7-10 game stretch at the same time. Such a system can only earn some money when it goes as expected on paper, until a "disaster" of a similar streak strikes. This kind of chasing can destroy even very large bankrolls and is potentially a road to hell.

Anyway, GL and hope that you're lucky enough to avoid all possible "anomalies", like the one I've mentioned above!

This can bury you in a month. You are better to play games to overtime with divisional match ups only. Doing every team everytime they play will render u bankrupt in a hurry. I know ive tried this. It hurt bad. Just saying. Heavy defense first oriented teams are the exception to my division only tie plays......but trust me when i say this.....tweak the system chase a little.

    I bet ties too.

I have no idea, mister. We might get an answer here in a few months. All I'm saying is that I personally haven't met anyone getting rich using this or similar systems (it's nothing but a martingale after all), but I've seen quite a few bettors getting buried by it. This CAN work, but how many people here have a bankroll large enough to actually do this? And even if they did, they can still make bigger (or at least safer) profit just flat betting.

Anyway, I'm not trying to invade this guy's thread, just wanted to drop my 2 cents here...

With a smaller unit amount you could lessen your hit to your bankroll. There is no way in hell that a team has less than 8 or 9 ties for the season. Plus if you are tailing a team for an extended amount of games, just fade your other teams till u hit that particular team. This isn't rocket science, just common sense. You won't have 10 teams all going for 10 or more games without a tie. The chances of that are ridiculous.

On another note we hit 2 of our 3 games last night. Tonights picks to follow.

Hey I hope you didn't think I was knocking you, I was just saying that I tried this one season, from get go and by nov 15th i was regretting it.

Once I switched to divisional/rival and heavy defense first teams, they started hitting at a better clip. In the end, we are all here to make some extra cash, and I am all for systems that yield positive results long term....its just that I have not found one that actually works as advertised.

You have been doing well so far, and I wish you continued success, I just know that there are certain teams that either blast the opponent, or get blasted, and don't go to extra time very often.

Buffalo went to OT 25 times last season. (tied for most OT appearances)
Boston went to OT 14 times last season. (least OT appearances)

it can work, its just risky. Juicy risk. I dont have that kind of bankroll unless im betting $1 a game. lol!

    Good luck man!
