Please read over my betting guide for NHL Hockey:

I will do my best to post every game night. As I mentioned earlier I only bet 3 types of slips:
Correlated Parlay A: Favorite + Over
Correlated Parlay B: Underdog + Under
Single Puck line Favorite
Each pays out an average of 2.5-4x.
Good luck and enjoy the 2011-2012 Season!

RECORD KEEPING:
I will be keeping 2 separate records.
I) Because I bet correlated parlays and puck line, I will use units as a measurement of tracking. To make things easier, I will represent 1 Unit as $100.
II) Since some of you will just choose to bet the winner and not parlay the over/under, I will also keep a Win / Loss record to represent this. I will score 1W for picking the correct winner, 1W for picking the correct total, and 1W for picking the correct puck line.
Please keep in mind these two records are independent from one another because I don’t win any units even if get the winner correct but lose the totals in the parlay or vice versa. I choose to bet correlated parlays and puckline because in the long run, it makes me the most money. I have certain conditions for each bet and they will be explained in my game write-up summary.
Example: My first pick of the pre season was Toronto to win over Ottawa parlayed with the over 5.5. The total payout of the correlated parlay was 3:1, Therefor:
Units: +3.0 / +$300
Wins: 2 Losses: 0
So with that said, good luck everyone!
CURRENT RECORD:
Units: +3.0
Wins: 2 Losses: 0
Tonight’s Games to be Capped:
DALLAS@MONTREAL:
Tonight is the first game on both these teams’ season. With Dallas losing Richards, and with huge bankruptcy/ownership problems in the loom, they have plenty of distractions. Montreal however, is on the up and up, and is in good spirits.
Montreal will be starting with their top goalie Carrey Price, and field a solid massive defense consisting of:
Gill (6'7), Tinordi (6'6), Woywitka (6'3) and Yemelin (6'2 220lbs)
With Monteal starting Price, and big defense, coupled with the loss Brad Richards, Dallas will have a hard time scoring. Montreal on the other hand will be fielding most of their regulars.
The totals for this game will be too close to call at 5.5. Montreal should win by at least 2 goals. Even if Dallas is close towards the end of the game tying and down by 1 goal, the empty net factor definitely helps Montreal reach the puck line. The payout for Montreal -1.5 is 2.80. This is excellent value for a Montreal team, at home, fired up, with a much better lineup.
Pick: MONTREAL PUCK LINE @ 2.80
**I looked at the other games, and I will not be betting them. They are too close, and there is too many question marks. However, due to popular request, I will list money line picks, but these are NOT part of my record and I will not be betting on them:
NAS@WAS – I would pick WAS if I was forced, Nash played double header the night before, WAS well rested, but there is too much juice here and WAS has very lazy players so I rarely bet on them, especially in a meaningless game for most of these vets.
PHL@TOR – I would choose the Leafs, but barely. I would definitely not rule out overtime. A very evenly matched game. TOR gets the edge because of their top line starting and playing at home. PHI thou does have a stacked team with a lot to prove so it could go either way. You've been warned!
GOODLUCK!
