Word on the street is Sundin likely to sign with the NY Rangers

Saw this story on the news here tonight, apparently he and his agent are in NY talking to the Rangers.

if the rangers can arrange salary cap before the dec 19 nhl cap freeeze then he will be a ranger. they are shopping around rozsival and prucha to make cap room 4 sundin. chicago said they are out of the sweepstake and sundin's agent said they will not sign with ottawa. the only team with cap room is vancouver, so unless the other teams in his list make cap room for his salary, vancouver will be his new home.

I don't see it happening. Who is going to take Roszival with that horrid contract? That is such a poorly run franchise, Gomez (7.35), Drury (7.05), Redden (6.5), Roszival (5.0), and all signed through at least 2011-2012, good god.

    NHL Roundup: Vancouver lands Sundin
    Friday, December 19, 2008
    The Associated Press
VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- Mats Sundin finally made up his mind. It was time to start playing again, and the Vancouver Canucks provided the perfect landing spot.

The former Toronto captain announced his long-awaited decision yesterday. ending months of speculation about where he would end up -- or if he would return to play in North America -- by signing with the Canucks.

Sundin, 37, had considered retirement after last season, but a number of teams expressed interest in him. He narrowed his choices to the Canucks and New York Rangers, who didn't have nearly enough cap space to compete with Vancouver's lucrative offer.

Sundin, a 6-foot-5, 230-pound forward, has 555 goals and 766 assists in 17 seasons with the Quebec Nordiques and the Maple Leafs. Sundin became an unrestricted free agent at the end of last season.

Yeah, I thought the Rangers were out of it from the beginning? Their team is full, and also supposedly didn't have the money for him. The Nucks SEVERELY needed this signing. They were on the road to nowhere

Leafs GM is a baby. Did you hear him crying about not being invited to Vancouver two nights ago? He must think he is the greatest Administrator in NHL history. I hope the Leafs lose five more years in a row.

You hope the Leafs lose "5 more years in a row" because of this?

    Get some help.
