Sabres's Rivet has knee surgery; out at least 2 weeks
Buffalo Sabres General Manager Darcy Regier announced Wednesday morning that defenseman Craig Rivet had arthroscopic surgery on his knee earlier in the day and his recovery is expected to be a minimum of two weeks.
Rivet has three points, all assists, in six games this season, including one in the 3-2 shootout victory over Boston on Tuesday night.
The 34-year-old Rivet was named the 23rd captain in franchise history on Oct. 8. There is no word on who will wear the "C' is his absence.
