1. This is a bracket contest which starts at the First Round of the AUSTRALIAN OPEN. Entries need to be submitted to me via PM no later than 11am local time on MONDAY JANUARY 14th. (That's 7pm Sunday Jan 13th in New York).

2. Each person is to PM ME their winners all the way through from the First Round until the Final before the first match commences. I'll post everyone's picks at some point in the day so all of us can follow along. I suggest using one of the free bracket sites to make your picks. I use the Tennis Channel's software. If you go over to their site and use their software too, you can just copy and paste your entry into the format I'll supply below.

3. SCORING WILL BE AS FOLLOWS:
First Round correct picks receive 1 point(s)
Second Round correct picks receive 2 point(s)
Third Round correct picks receive 3 point(s)
Fourth Round correct picks receive 5 point(s)
Quarterfinals correct picks receive 10 point(s)
Semifinals correct picks receive 20 point(s)

4. In the event of a tie when grading for contest purposes, the first tiebreak will go to the person who picked the highest number of number of dog winners correctly throughout the first round. The second tiebreak will go to the person who picked the number of Second Round winners correctly.


*** In the event of a retirement, if one set is complete then the advancing player will count as the winner.

The draw is now up and is available here if you're not using bracket software to make your picks. My suggestion to make it easier on you is to find a place online to enter your picks (again, I use the Tennis Channel contest) and then just copy and paste to submit them.

This is a standard bracket contest.You take each first round winner and slot them through until the end. Just to make it clear: You're starting off by telling me what Round 2 would look like if you were going to be watching a round 2 match. So the first names you'll give me are the winners from the Federer vs Young match and the QUALIE vs PHAU match as the winners will be playing each other in Round 2. Then you go on to the next subgroup and carry those winners through.

You do not make picks on the contest page. That is just used to collect the 10 point entry fee in this case.

If you have registered and paid your 10 points, all you need to do now is PM your picks to Shari.

Like opti said , all you have to do is pm your entry to shari once you have paid, I posted this example from my last years entry before but I remember the first time I entered these I was confused about the format.

Basically your pm will look exactly like sharis example at the top here, some people use tennis channel and then format it from that, I just copy and paste sharis example and put in my own picks. It can take awhile but its definitely worth the time studying these matches if you are wagering on the event this year. This is the format you send your picks in , this was what my pm and entry looked like to shari last year.

Hi sh0rt6r - You have to pick the winner of every match in the first round. And then you carry those winners through to the 2nd round and pick the winner. And then so on. If you look at the examples above you'll see exactly what your entry should look like. The easiest thing to do is visit racquetbracketmens.tennischannel.com. Enter their contest and once you're done, just change the names in the example entry I provided to fit your people. So your final entry will show me the winner of every first round match, every 2nd round match all the way through until you pick the Final winner.
And thanks greg and Opti for helping sh0rt6r out... was at the Polo all day yesterday and reception was a bit dodgy out there.

So you only send me one big entry for the whole tournament... not round by round.

JNic, I won't be around much of tomorrow but I'll probably log in later at night so I can post names like 12hrs or so before the first matches if you'd like. Most people send their entries in the last hour or 2 though if the past 3 years is anything to go by.

Just a heads up that the TennisChannel seems to have changed their formatting a bit this time and I'm getting a lot of country flags and other weird things coming through when you copy and paste. Which is fine as I'll just clean it all up but just keep an eye out for a PM from me because I might need to clarify your semis/finals/overall winner. Some entries are way wacked once they're sent.

Yeah TC has definitely done something screwy this time around. I only use Chrome but if you ever get that IE problem in the future it'd be lovely if you can take a screenshot and send me a PM so the techies can look at rectifying it.

Copy the picks from tennis channel

Open a text editor like notepad (not MS Word) and paste it into that.

All formatting and extras will be removed.

Then copy that and PM it to Shari.

Think that should solve most issues.
