I have read opinions in the past that it is a good idea to avoid betting road fave's. Both in print, and on internet boards. I read an article in Maxim when I first started betting. In this article they interviewed the Sportsbook manager of one of the big Vegas joints. He stated that you had to focus on Underdogs to prosper at sports betting.
I tend to think you can find value on road faves about as often as road dogs, home dogs, or home faves. I'm sure the average weekend bettor gets beat more often than not laying road chalk.
Is it the forum's opinion that a guy employing proper handicapping techniques will find value on road favorites ?
