Is it better to bet 1unit to win XX or bet XX to win 1 unit?

That is what I was leaning. Is there any specific reasoning for why thats the better route, other then because youll be risking less on ud? Or is that the main reason?

what if u wanted to bet +5000
what about -5000?
why would u bet the same amount on something that had ~ 98% chance of winning as something that had ~ 1.96% of winning?
would u bet the same on a lottery ticket as u would on a v heavy fav? not if u want to win as much as possible.
