if my sports betting bankroll was only up 88% in 2 years i would consider going back to my 85k a year job to supplement the lifestyle I have become accustomed to

The last couple years stock market returns are not typical.

I am willing to bet that a +EV sportsbetting bankroll will outperform the SP500 or other major index of your choice over the next 12 months.

In fact by putting money in my bankroll and not in a mutual fund, I am doing precisely this.

Sports betting is a muuuuuuuch better investment then Stock Market..

Majority of betting public are degenerate gamblers..that's why they can't look it as an investment. It's all about action for them. They're gamblers.

for info. in april 2011. at cannery cragi road. on all mondays and wednesdays. if u wager 50. dollars on slots. u get a guaranteed minimum of 3 bux. with a chance to win 75 cash. also 5x points for the day.

400 points is $1 freeplay on slots. wager of 2 bux is 1 point. on most game kings. video poker. some slots are 1 dollar for 1 point.

if you wager $1500 through slots. guaranteed minimum. $25 prize with a chance at $1000. 5x points for the day.

    ----------------

so. me and my sportsbook buddy. do both. we want the big cash prizes on the slots. but we sppend much time in book also.

this works also. in mid march i qualified for a entry into cannery slot 5K tournament. i won my qualifiying heat and got 20 bucks free slot play. did not make the 5k final.

but in front of the book. me and my buddy. took 6 bux. for the 20. and we split our turns on the video poker. i hit a dueces royal. and took that win.

and with a max bet hit a 7/10 spot keno ticket. 1.25 dollar turn to 94 dollar. all this in front of the book. because they like the slots a bit loose there to get the guys out and playing.

    ka- ching.

i still got the 94 from two weeks ago. i gave my buddy 15 of it. but he was back in the book at the time. i already won back the 15. good karma. wins.

I think we should hijack this thread in to a discussion of awesome restaurants.

I'm going to be in London over Easter, I am going to try to get a lunch at Heston's new place.

I have a job and bet sports for 2-3 hours most nights. This severely limits the amount of down time I have. When I add in playing a couple of sports and trying to have a social life it actually gets quite draining.

Like Lakerfan said, line shopping is important...probably the most important thing.
If you require $1,500 a month to live, then my theory would be to bet $1,500 on evens (or $2k on 1.75, $3k on 1/2 etc) on the result you are most sure will come in each month! Win and Lose and... get a job!

I dont gamble for a living but Im subsribed to a blog of a guy I get the impression makes a living from gambling with all the winning bets he posts up and the intelligence he talks. Maybe SBR should put a sticky of all the "pro gambler" blogs up somewhere so we can all refer to them/follow their bets??

the stock market is rigged and unless you in on the rig it is very difficult to make money good money. sports is not rigged (99%) and if you know what you are doing (many areas to be complete) you can easily win. people with ph d's is business and finance don't make money in the stock market.

As an 'ol bookie use to say, there are two types of gamblers. There are the Liars (the people that claim to win), and the Loosers (the people that admit they never win)! HAPPY BETTING

Dinner by Heston Blumenthal (although it's actually his right hand man from Fat Duck who is day to day chef they both developed the menu. It's inspired by historical British recipes.

Unfortunately the guy I was counting on being my date (no homo) can't make it so I need to find someone to make up the minimum party size before I make the reservation. I don't live in London but have a few friends there, so fingers crossed.

Games start through 4 PM (West Coast). When you will handicap games? While working at office? LoL.

Even if you're living in the east coast, you won't have too much time to handicap games when you leaved office. Not to mention, you'll be tired as well.

If you place your wagers at night, you won't be able to check lineups and weather.

Why work for somebody else like a slave? If you can make money by sports betting, you won't feel any need for a 9-5 boring job.

If you want to be a Professional Handicapper (make a living by betting), you should see yourself as a tradesman/handicraftsman/artisan. These people don't have a monthly income. They don't have a fixed income either..

    You will have losing weeks.
    You will have losing months..

But it shouldn't matter because you don't look in monthly or weekly periods.

Let's say your bankroll is 40k. Your goal should be double or triple your bankroll in a year. That's right, in a year.

I know joe public triples their bankroll in 2-3 days (sometimes) but over the long haul, they lose it all. Also tripling a 500$ bankroll is different then managing 50k.

Your bank is 50k. Let's say your net profit is 50k after 1 year. Place 50k to bank and use it for your living expenses. That's it.
"Even" if you incraese your bank %6 every month, you can double your bank in a year..
