It’s a little embarrassing to ask; but I do only have a
rudimentary knowledge of arithmetic. (thank God for Excel)
I’m trying to figure out what the probability of a night’s sports
betting will be under various conditions. (assuming I’m a 50% handicapper)
I make about 7 bets a night (on a full NBA slate).
I know the odds of going 0-7 or 7-0 are:
½ x ½ x ½ x ½ x ½ x½ x ½ = 1/128 = .007
But I don’t know how to figure the odds of going, say, 2-5
or 5-2. (or 3-4, 4-3)
Know this is old, basic stuff to most of you guys, but if
anyone wants to show me this, it would be appreciated. Thanks very much.
I viewed the “Probability Formula” thread by John Gault, but
couldn’t grasp it.
