    Calculating variance

    Hi guys,

Didn't know exactly where to put this, so here goes.

Is there a variance calculator for sports betting? (I know there are some for poker for instance)

I want to calculate how big the chance is to end up in + and - after a series of bets.
So for instance: Expected ROI of 5%, average odds 3.00, 500 bets.

Or is the type of sports you bet on too big of a variable (variance-wise) to calculate this?

    http://www.sportsbookreview.com/forum/handicappe...tor-excel.html

Its a very basic variance simulator i once quickly made
Its also quite impractical as it was intended to be vba-free
I even didnt bother to put an EV-line nor did i add any intervals, but you can do calculate those things on your own

Still you should get a grasp of something

Thanks man! Didn't find that when I was searching for it on the internetz.

I'll have a better look at it later. But do you think for certain sports the variance will be higher/lower or would this variance be directly represented in the Av. Odds?
