    Sports Insights ?

    Hey, I'm brand new here!

I have a question for all you fellow SI users. I've been a prem pro member for 2 months. What betting system with which sport do you all feel is the best? Do you all pay much attention to the steam moves? Once you are notified of it the line moves so fast you can't get on that #. I'm now concentrating on reverse line moves. There seems to be at least 3 or 4 cbb per day.

Also, Hockey players! Do you go off of the positive betting system plays from SI. ie: smart $ and steam $ if they are at least +5 units?

    Thanks guys!

I've been reading a lot of different forums and this forum seems like the best information out there.

Actually there are some slow moving books where you can exploit the green alerts.

RLM has been profitable for Sides in every sport, so you are certainly on the right track there. RLM also works well with Pinnacle NHL Totals, but it loses money in totals in other sports.

Also, steam moves for CBB Totals are having a big year, but again, you need a slow book to take advantage.

I haven't been having much luck with NCAAB. My SS has all RLM plays. I did well in NFL, NCAAF, and am doing well in NBA. Haven't gotten the hang of NHL or NCAAB.

Doing well with RLM in college hoops and NBA, NBA totals have not been doing well for me though. Probably will stop playing those after what LTprofits wrote here above.

What do you mean with reverse linemove for nhl totals LTprofit? Is the sample of bets really large enough to give public perception of every total market in NHL?

Totals don't move off numbers very often in NHL (i.e., from 5.5 to 6), but moves of more than 10 cents (i.e., 5.5 -110 to 5.5 -122) with 3000 bets or so are more common, and those are what I was referring to at Pinnacle.

SI had an amazing week last week on hockey smart $ overall. I quick calc I did was +20 units @ 1 unit/play in 7 days

Do they always perform well? Why is the record keeping on the site so shady? They always put (Sportsbook 8-6, 57%) or whatever but the records dont change at the end of the day. And you cant go back more then 3 days to track their smart $ and steam moves longer term record. The site is based on stat tracking so on explanation for being shady imo would be the records are that bad.

Care to share some insight LT as I know you have been a user there for a while?

We try to be as transparent as possible when we record and display our betting system results. I'm not 100% sure what you are referring to in terms of the "shady" record keeping.

The Results box that appears on top of the live odds page displays the best performing sportsbook's record. For example if (Sportsbook's 8-6, 57%) record appeared in the NHL Steam Move results box it would remain there until another sportsbook posted a better record, or if Sportsbook.com had a losing day and lost the top position. In regards to our Steam Moves and Smart Money betting systems, the most important thing to consider is the triggering sportsbook. We only suggest following plays that were triggered by sportsbooks with positive Units Wons. Hopefully this answers your question.

The problem with chasing steam in CBB at slow moving books is that you will be limited faster than fiveteamer is at SBR. You won't last to long with any substantial limits.

Having worked on the sportsbook side years ago I can tell you Cobra King is 100% right. If you attempt to bet steam at slow moving sportsbooks (which are mostly sportsbooks that cater to square bettors) you'll typically be immediately kicked out. If you’re smart about it, you can get around this by not setting off any red flags. Don't bet the limits. I'd suggest betting less than $500 per game, and don't fund your account with a huge deposit. You can fly under the radar at most books.

Even if you can’t get down at a slow moving sportsbook, you can significantly help your bottom line by placing bets at reduced juices books or betting exchanges. Laying -105 instead of -110 is huge.

The books are identified with each move. Just look for the green.

I use a different line service so I was hoping to find out who the books were so I could follow.
