When a game pushes do you still include that money staked into your ROI? I would assume you would since it was still on the line and was at risk.

But what about when a game is cancelled all together? Say a baseball game was rained out. I would think then since the game never even took place and there was no real investment made, you would leave it out.

    What are your thoughts?

Does it matter? You push maybe 5% of your bets, bumping your ROI down 0.5%.

Probably not. But I'd still like to know the proper way of doing it, or at least the most logical way.

Some wagers such as MLB Total Bases push ~20% of the time.

ROI stands for return on investment. Achieving a push still requires an investment and thus should be included in ROI.

If you like, create a new stat that excludes pushes and call it something other than ROI.

Cancelled bets i'd consider struck from your records. The event you invested in didn't happen. Pushes should count. An investment that hovers around your purchase price counts against your portfolio. Just my opinion though.

ROI isn't that useful of a concept anyway. Maximizing your ROI doesn't necessarily optimize your growth.

pushes in MLB are only on totals so there fore just used sides for your ROI.

a push is returned to your bank nothing was lost except an opportunity to win money!
When i'm tracking nfl i consider pushes as a loss i treat the fav. as losing money and the DOG as a loss.
