    Freeplay Betting Strategies

What does everyone think is the best way to use a freeplay?

Let's just use the example of BTP freeplay that only carries a 1x rollover.

I know there are different schools of thought, just curious what people think.

Personally, I like making a play that is -150 to +150 and is something I would normally play.

Do you make a parlay with it? Huge underdog or favorite?

    Any thoughts?

Mathematically speaking, you're best bet is to use it on parlays. Say in your example that you just wanted to play one team. You'd make out better taking half of that amount and parlaying with Team A, and the other half and parlaying with Team B (if Teams A/B are playing each other). You'd make out even better dividing it into quarters and playing a quarter of it on each possible combination. This is all of course assuming that you're getting full parlay odds.

Big dogs is first (80-90% expected return is often possible) followed by 3 team parlays (if you can use dogs on the parlays this is even better)...

I rarely scalp or bet all sides of parlay (especially if I'm using dogs in the parlays) as you are giving up equity by doing this, some books won't respond well to it, and it should all average out in the long run anyhow...

If the amount you risking by doing this is too high (given your bankroll or whatever) then just split the freeplay up into more acceptable sizes and find more acceptable teams to bet rather then hedging (3 team round robin parlays with a bunch of dogs are really good for this if you find enough teams you like [ie not excessively far from true odds])...

Also, look for low-juice sports to include in parlays.

Don't parlay all 8 ways of a 3-teamer. Shoot out random 3-teamers for a fraction of your freeplay... If you bet 8 of these randomly, you have a little volatility but more longevity.

if you want to eek out a few more percentage points on these freeplays, do 3-teamers with plays that are slightly off-market. Saturday is a great time to do this when there are many games going off at once.
