    +EV Lottery

I saw this in the news yesterday. This game Winfall becomes +EV during the rolldown weeks, as some prizes may increase value by 10x. Here is an article about it:

    Here are the actual rules:

Similar to sportsbook's counter measures, the MA lottery is cutting limits by limiting to $5000 per day per store in ticket sales.

I think all of us have had that idea at one time or another. Buying heavy into a small local lotto, at least 70%, should improve your odds to getting the other 30%. I wonder how many lottos have limits in place to prevent this.

There are not that many lotteries that increase the values of lower prizes to +EV when the top prize is not hit. No need to put in limits if all the bets are -EV.

Now that it's public information, the value is probably considerably dried up.

How many geniuses have not only had this same first reaction as you but also are way too lazy to logistically implement such a scheme? Your logic for the value drying up is fallacious

Obviously fallacious logic on my part. Edges with huge publicity never dry up.

    Get a clue.

It doesn't require that people implement the same schemes, retard. All it takes is Joe Blow and every Tom, Dick, and Harry going down to the gas station and buying significantly more tickets when they otherwise wouldn't have. And why the hell wouldn't they now?

You need 200K worth of tickets to have a guaranteed win. 100K to break even or win some money.

This is hardly a way to just go to the gas station and buy winning tickets every rolldown.
