    The Pinnacle Theory

is it that, for example, every book is offering jazz -10, and pinny is offering jazz -9.5 that Pinny is LOOKING for money to be put on the Jazz and , and actually have an opinion on the other side (underdog) covering? What if the line is jazz -9 and everywhere else is -10. What is pinny trying to tell us then? Then does it become "PINNY KNOWS SOMETHING WE DONT KNOW" and the smart thing to do is BET the underdog +9?

In retrospect, let's say, again that every bookis offering jazz -10, while pinny is offering jazz -10.5... Are they looking for money on the underdog, and the smart play is the underdog? Let's say that pinny is jazz -11.... does this big 1 point difference mean the smart play is the Jazz?

    Lets hear your ****ing opinions

I would bet the Jazz opponent at +10 at the other book...

    i agree with that....

but lets go into it a little more, in the days when pinnacle had U.S customers i would always go with that theory of taking the dog cause pinnacle was thesharpest of books

but nowadays i believe that they are not as sharp as they once were ...they might just be movingthe line because they need to offset some of their action
I think because they dont have as many customers anymore that they move the line more often to offside even smaller action

You should also look at the juice. Rarely does Pinny have half point difference with same odds.

I don't understand the juice sometimes, it can seem so random

I edited my post because it didn't make sense at first. Now it should make sense. More insight please. Would love to hear from Ganchrow, Justin7, and any other great studs who hang out in the think tank forum.

Some people strongly believe that Pinny really does take sides, and that they are super-sharps

but nowadays i believe that they are not as sharp as they once were ...they might just be movingthe line because they need to offset some of their action
I think because they dont have as many customers anymore that they move the line more often to offside even smaller action
How big of a percentage of Pinnacle's customer base were U.S players?

I believe the SBR sharps have taken the position that most of the big US players have found a way to still bet at Pinny. I'm guessing its lines are as sharp as ever.

IMO the only reason a book will move a line is they need to balance action. Books make their $$$ from the vigorish they put up. Many times sharps will jump on a reduced vig causing that book unbalanced action for that game.

The book has two primary motivations:
    -to increase profit
    -to reduce risk

they will move the line in response to one, or both, of those stimuli.
