    NBA / NfL Money Line vs Point Spread Betting

    I found a neat chart at Statfox that has some good info concerning when it would be best to bet the ML or the spread at various point spread catagories for the NBA.

    Not sure how to link it but it can be found easy by a google for;

    nba; money lines vs point spreads

    The chart goes from 2006 - 2008 or so. You could have bet 12+ point NBA home favs at the money line and shown a 32.8 % ROI. That stuff would also be neat for the NFL. Anyone know of something like this that is more up to date?

    Interesting find carl, says home favorites of 8-points or more in the NBA are 876-145 SU, for 85.8%, and that these clubs have returned 68.3 units of profit on money line wagers.
    2 qualifying games tonight are Hawks -9.5 and Clippers -11

    Thanks GM! Yes, there is some interesting stuff on that chart but... is it to far out of date (2006-08) ? maybe not.

    I was hoping someone here might know of something more current with any kind of info like this.

    Like how are home favs at 8-points or more doing this season... and how did they do last season?

    SportsDatabase.com can give you some of this info -- Don't know if it will calculate moneyline results. A query to see how home favs this year at -8 or more is :

    date>=20101026 and site=home and line<=-8

    The result is:

    SU: 239-38

    LtD, thanks! Interesting site. Someone better at the language than me could probably make a chart of ATS records based on Home and Away favorites point spread results for for 2009 and 2010.

    I couldnt find moneyline info there.
