Saints | Alvin Kamara tough to bring down

Buffalo Bills WR Isaiah McKenzie amassed 101 yards on screen passes in 2019 - the fourth-highest total of any receiver in the league.

Buccaneers | Chris Godwin made the most of screen plays
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin accumulated 105 yards on screen passes in 2019 - the third-highest total of any receiver in the league.

Eagles | DeSean Jackson in great shape
Philadelphia Eagles WR DeSean Jackson is in 'the best shape of his life,' according to Adam Caplan of the Inside the Birds podcast.
Footballguys view: Jackson has been an excellent fantasy receiver the last two years when healthy, but last year he was basically only on the field for one game. That has been more than priced into his cost and he's certainly worth a late pick (where he has been going) in redraft leagues.
    Link to story

Eagles | Jalen Reagor to lead Philly WRs?
Philadelphia Eagles WR Jalen Reagor has done 'really well' during virtual meetings with receivers coach Aaron Moorehead, according to Adam Caplan of the Inside the Birds podcast. Caplan went so far as to predict Reagor will 'not only lead the Eagles receivers in receptions but also in snaps (in 2020).'
Footballguys view: Reagor is still going to learn behind Desean Jackson at the Z position, but if he pops in early season games, he won't have trouble becoming a core part of the Eagles pass offense. He will have enough early opportunity and upside to be worth a pick in redraft leagues.

Cowboys | Dak Prescott to sign franchise tender
Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott plans to sign his one-year tender offer by Monday, June 22, according to a source. The two sides have until July 15 to reach a long-term agreement.
Footballguys view: With the cap possibly going down or staying level for a while, the Cowboys have a stronger position and might not reset the market with Prescott's new deal - if he signs one. Prescott could also gamble on having a good enough year to take control of the situation and basically force the Cowboys to give him the biggest contract in NFL history - that is unless Patrick Mahomes gets signed first.

Browns | Nick Chubb successful after contact
Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb has averaged 4.2 yards per carry after contact over the last two seasons.
Footballguys view: Chubb is set up for the best year of his career with a wide zone run-based offense under new head coach Kevin Stefanski and big upgrades at both tackle positions. He's worth a late first round pick.

Texans are putting a lot of faith in Will Fuller...he simply can't stay on the field in the NFL or college.

    Tuesday Update

    Rams | Jared Goff challenged
Los Angeles Rams QB Jared Goff needs to take ownership of the offense, according to offensive coordinator Kevin O'Connell.

Jaguars | Teammate praises Gardner Minshew's initiative
Jacksonville Jaguars QB Gardner Minshew has reportedly organized video sessions with his teammates - in addition to the regular virtual OTA meetings run by the coaches - as players try to work through the offense together remotely, according to TE Tyler Eifert.'(Minshew) took charge, took initiative during the OTAs to get the guys together aside from our OTA meetings. We'd get on and do like a virtual walkthrough. It's just good to learn a little bit different than just looking at your installs and trying to memorize it. You've got to think on your feet a little bit,' Eifert told Sirius XM NFL Radio.

Titans | A.J. Brown in rare air
Tennessee Titans WR A.J. Brown averaged 12.5 yards per target as a rookie in 2019 - the fifth-best mark for a receiver with at least 40 catches since targets started getting tracked in 1992.

Lions | Efficiency a weak point for Kenny Golladay
Detroit Lions WR Kenny Golladay caught only 56 percent of his targets in 2019 - good for 57th out of 65 receivers with at least 40 catches last season.

Cardinals | Chase Edmonds made solid case for more work
Arizona Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds averaged 5.1 yards per rushing attempt, 2.95 yards after contact and sported a 15 percent explosive run rate (per Pro Football Focus) - all team-best marks among running backs - on 60 carries in 2019. He also forced a missed tackle on 13.3 percent of his carries - good for on the team second behind Kenyan Drake's 17 percent forced missed tackle rate.

Cowboys | Dak Prescott gets job done outside red zone
Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott has thrown for 24 touchdowns outside the red zone since 2018 - the second-highest total by any quarterback in the league over that span.

Chiefs | Patrick Mahomes can strike from anywhere
Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes has thrown for 30 touchdowns outside the red zone since 2018 - the most by any quarterback in the league over that span.

Vikings | Minnesota wants agreement with Dalvin Cook
Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook is expected to hold out if he does not receive a contract extension, but the Vikings are interested in reaching an agreement with Cook before training camp, according to sources.

    Dalvin Cook player page

Giants | Coach impressed with Daniel Jones
New York Giants QB Daniel Jones has had a very productive offseason and has taken a leadership role on the team, according to head coach Joe Judge.
Footballguys view: Jones flashed as a rookie in 2019 but that was under former head coach Pat Shurmur. We'll see how Jones works under Judge in 2020. He's got healthier weapons around him in the passing game and a strong rushing attack featuring Saquon Barkley. Jones is a QB2 for Fantasy GMs this season.
    Link to story
    Daniel Jones player page

Bengals | A.J. Green has not signed tender yet
Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green has not signed his one-year franchise tag tender offer at this point. The two sides have until July 15 to reach a long-term agreement.
Footballguys view: We'll see what happens in mid-July. Deals get done at deadlines but there seems to be little traction between Green and the Bengals. Having him out there in 2020 and beyond would greatly help the development of young quarterback Joe Burrow.
    Link to story
    A.J. Green player page

Rams | Robert Woods successful on play action
Los Angeles Rams WR Robert Woods recorded 35 receptions on play-action passes during the 2019 season, which ranked second among wide receivers.
Footballguys view: The Rams want to use play-action fakes to set up receptions down the field. They also can be used for quick fakes and screen passes to the other side of the formation. Woods led all wide receivers in 2019 with 146 yards on screen passes and this makes him a high-floor WR2 for Fantasy GMs.
    Link to story
    Robert Woods player page

Browns | Jarvis Landry targeted on play action
Cleveland Browns WR Jarvis Landry recorded 36 receptions on play-action passes during the 2019 season, which was the most among wide receivers.
Footballguys view: Landry is great at getting open underneath. The play-action fakes allow defenses to bite o the run which only gets Landry more room to work with. The Browns should be more efficient on offense this year, and Landry should clean up in this category once again.
    Link to story
    Jarvis Landry player page

Cowboys | Dak Prescott officially signs tender
Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott officially signed his one-year tender offer Monday, June 22.
Footballguys view: This gives him a fully guaranteed one-year deal worth around $31 million. The two sides still have until July 15th to come up with a long-term agreement. By signing his tender, Prescott now must show up to all mandatory work when training camp rolls around. Reports indicate that Prescott wants a four-year deal while the team wants him to sign a five-year contract. Stay tuned.
    Link to story
    Dak Prescott player page

Cowboys | Dak Prescott still seeking four-year deal
Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott is still looking for a four-year contract extension, while the Cowboys would prefer to give Prescott a five-year contract, according to a source.
Footballguys view: This must be the biggest hangup in this contract situation. With the uncertain nature of the salary cap due to COVID-19, things are more complicated than ever. The Cowboys and Prescott have until mid-July to get a new long-term deal done.
    Link to story
    Dak Prescott player page

Bengals | Joe Burrow has impressed
Cincinnati Bengals No. 1 overall draft pick QB Joe Burrow has impressed head coach Zac Taylor with his preparation for meetings and mental acumen. 'He's been great,' Taylor said. 'As advertised is the best way to put it. You can tell he spends a lot of time on his own being prepared with questions and he's doing a great job taking ownership, which is important for a quarterback to do, and he's doing everything he can to own this offense. Been really impressed with him, but not surprised.'
Footballguys view: There is no doubt that Burrow has the upside to be a franchise quarterback for the Bengals, and he's going to start from day one. We're excited to see how his skills translate to the pro level. Burrow is not only accurate as a passer, but his pass placement is uncanny. He's got great weapons around him in the passing game and a strong rushing attack. Burrow is a low-end QB2 with upside for Fantasy GMs in 2020.

It would be fun to watch

can't put too much faith into that org developing him right though

but for rookie QB's this year has to be by far the hardest year to come into and do well in year 1.

so much rapport building and learning via mini camps and non mandatory stuff has been lost and will never be regained

    Wednesday Update

Redskins | Adrian Peterson wants to play four more
Washington Redskins RB Adrian Peterson, 35, said he hopes to play four more years in the NFL. 'I don't want to ever be in a position where I look back and say, 'Man, I should have played two more years,'' Peterson told TMZ Sports. ''I should have played another year.' I want to enjoy it. I'm still chasing a championship. You know, I still can play the game at a high level. For those reasons, and having that love and passion for the game, I'm going to continue to keep the ball rolling.'

49ers | Jimmy Garoppolo faced heavy pressure

Cowboys | Dak Prescott on historic production pace
Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott is just the seventh quarterback ever with at least 90 touchdown passes and 20 rushing touchdowns over a four-season span. He is the first QB to accomplish the feat in his first four seasons. He has 97 career touchdown passes and 21 rushing TDs.
Footballguys view: Prescott could set a career high in passing touchdowns this year with the addition of Ceedee Lamb to the passing game. He should have the highest ADP in fantasy drafts of his career this year.
    Link to story
    Dak Prescott player page

Lions | New Lions owner would support Colin Kaepernick signing
Free-agent QB Colin Kaepernick (49ers) would be supported by new Detroit Lions principal owner Sheila Ford Hamp if general manager Bob Quinn and the coaching staff choose to sign him, Hamp said Tuesday, June 23.
Footballguys view: The Lions gave Chase Daniel five million dollars guaranteed on a three-year, $13 million dollar deal and they still like David Blough as a developmental third quarterback, but Kaepernick would probably be an upgrade from Daniel if Stafford's presents issues again. It looks more and more like Kaepernick will be signed somewhere every day.

Raiders | Nick O'Leary recovering from heart surgery
Las Vegas Raiders TE Nick O'Leary (heart) underwent two procedures last month after being diagnosed with 100 percent blockage on the right side of his heart. He is expected to make a full recovery and hopes to return to play in the 2021 season. 'I feel good,' O'Leary said. 'I feel better than I did before. I've got to be on blood thinners for six months to a year. That's really the only reason now why I can't play football. If I (got cut), they said that would be the biggest problem, wouldn't be able to stop the bleeding.'
Footballguys view: The Raiders put him on the reserve/non-football injury list and he said they told him they will "leave the door open" for him next year. O'Leary had pain in his left arm that moved to his chest while working out and playing pickleball and doctors told him it was a heart attack. Make sure to have any symptoms like the ones he had checked out, as O'Leary is 27 and obviously physically fit. If it can happen to him, it can happen to any of us.

Steelers | Ben Roethlisberger's progress pleasing team staff
Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (elbow) has impressed coaches and doctors with his progress from last year's season-ending injury, according to head coach Mike Tomlin Tuesday, June 23. 'He's comfortable and pleased where he is,' Tomlin said. 'Some people who had the opportunity to work with him are impressed and pleased where he is. The medical experts are comfortable where he is and his readiness for 2020.'
Footballguys view: Roethlisberger's elbow is the key to the Steelers offense this year. If it's sound, then James Conner and Juju Smith-Schuster will be good value picks, and probably at least one other Steelers passcatcher, and of course Roethlisberger himself. Hopefully we will get to see Roethlisberger play once in the preseason, but it's not assured, especially if it's shortened.

NFL | Antonio Brown drawing interest from Seahawks, Ravens
Free-agent WR Antonio Brown (Patriots) is drawing interest from the Seattle Seahawks and Baltimore Ravens, who've both had internal discussions about signing the receiver.
Footballguys view: The writing is on the wall that Brown is going to playing again as soon as the league is ready to decide whether he will be suspended and for how long. Brown's speculative value in dynasty and redraft leagues is about to go up, and perhaps Russell Wilson's with it.

Raiders | Darren Waller ready to roll
Las Vegas Raiders TE Darren Waller said he believes offseason workouts with QB Derek Carr and other teammates will have the offense ready ready to go to start the 2020 season. 'I feel like that can pay dividends for us in the season, knowing that we can go into any kind of environment,' Waller said.

Packers | Equanimeous St. Brown back in mix
Green Bay Packers WR Equanimeous St. Brown was one of the players QB Aaron Rodgers mentioned when talking about important members of the receiving corps for 2020. 'I'm excited about seeing EQ back in the mix,' Rodgers said.

Bills | Josh Allen struggles with deep passes
Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen was on target on only 31 percent of passes that traveled at least 20 yards down the field, according to Pro Football Focus. The average in the NFL was 43 percent.
Footballguys view: Allen has poor pass placement. It's not just accuracy, it's where you put the ball and how you can lead your receivers to maximize yards after the catch. We'll see if more time and experience, plus the addition of WR Stefon Diggs, can help Allen be better when throwing deep.

Cowboys | Ezekiel Elliott feeling better
Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott (illness) said he is feeling better but is not able to work out at this point. Elliott said he dealt with coughing and shortness of breath for a day or two because of COVID-19.
Footballguys view: Great news for Elliott and the Cowboys here. It was reported that he had COVID-19 about a week ago and is on the road to recovery. The NFLPA recommended that players do not work out in groups together and obviously Elliott was staying inside while getting healthy. He'll be good to go when training camp rolls around.

Patriots | Mohamed Sanu ahead of schedule
New England Patriots WR Mohamed Sanu (ankle) is ahead of schedule in his recovery from ankle surgery. He currently weighs 202 pounds, which is less than his official listing by the team.
Footballguys view: Sanu's ankle surgery was in March, and his walking boot came off in mid-May, so it sounds like he's still making progress. That ankle injury was a big part of the reason Sanu struggled the second half of 2019, and he didn't look the same on the field. We'll see if he can be 100 percent healthy by the start of the regular season and see what kind of chemistry he can build with Jarrett Stidham (or Brian Hoyer) at quarterback.
    Link to story

Bears | Teammate expects Mitchell Trubisky to start
Chicago Bears WR Ted Ginn Jr. said he expects QB Mitchell Trubisky to be the starting quarterback this season.
Footballguys view: That's a bold statement, especially considering Ginn was playing with the Saints last year. Trubisky is in a make-or-break year in 2020 and he'll have to beat out Nick Foles for the starting job in training camp. It's not an exciting competition for Bears fans or for Fantasy GMs.

49ers | Jauan Jennings under contract
San Francisco 49ers seventh-round draft choice WR Jauan Jennings signed a four-year contract with the 49ers Wednesday, June 24. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: Jennings is one of the most physical dominant receivers in this draft class. During his college career at Tennessee, Jennings showcased that toughness and strength on slant routes where he could run through arm tackles regularly. He showed up to the Volunteers as a quarterback, even got a start in 2019 as a Wildcat quarterback, and is still learning the nuances of the WR position. We are going to monitor Jennings in deep dynasty formats.

    Friday Update

Panthers | Arm strength no issue for Teddy Bridgewater?
Carolina Panthers QB Teddy Bridgewater is 'exactly what we want' and has 'a great arm,' according to head coach Matt Rhule.'I think this offense, in general, when you look at in New Orleans, that iteration of it, where (new offensive coordinator Joe Brady) first learned it, is not necessarily a vertical, down-the-field passing game as much as it is a catch-and-run, underneath, matchup-type passing game. You obviously have to be able to throw the ball downfield. Teddy's got a great arm. I can remember he threw what I would call a launch route 48 yards down the right sideline to the 12-yard line against somebody. So he certainly has the arm strength to do it,' Rhule told Joe Person of The Athletic.
Footballguys view: Bridgewater has never had a rocket arm, and that's not going to change now. However, he's always been smart and accurate as a passer. Those are traits that should be highlighted in Rhule's offense. He's a QB2 with upside for Fantasy GMs this year and has a current ADP of QB24 (14.05) in 12-team PPR leagues.

Bills | Stefon Diggs a big hit on long throws in 2019
Buffalo Bills WR Stefon Diggs scored a league-high three touchdowns on passes targeted at least 40 yards downfield as a member of the Minnesota Vikings in 2019, according to Pro Football Focus.
Footballguys view: Diggs was traded to the Bills this offseason with the idea that he could be the deep target for the offense as the no.1 receiver. QB Josh Allen is a work in progress as a passer...all over the field. He has a big arm but he has say-it-don't-spray-it accuracy, and his deep passes -- while far -- lack touch and accuracy. We'll see how much Diggs helps out his young quarterback in 2020.

Patriots | Trainer predicts bounce back for Mohamed Sanu
New England Patriots WR Mohamed Sanu (ankle) will be 'faster, quicker, leaner, and in better shape' than he was in 2019 after undergoing offseason surgery for a high-ankle injury, according to trainer Hilton Alexander. Alexander said Sanu was a 'shell of himself' after being acquired from the Atlanta Falcons.
Footballguys view: Sanu had ankle surgery in early March and has been on the road to recovery since then. He should be ready to start in Week 1 of the regular season. Julian Edelman, N'Keal Harry and Sanu will be the top three receivers for the Patriots in 2020.

Browns | Jarvis Landry moving well
Cleveland Browns WR Jarvis Landry (hip) is 'looking great' in videos of him moving around, according to head coach Kevin Stefanski Thursday, June 25.
Footballguys view: He had surgery in February and has been on the road to recovery ever since then. Landry said he is ahead of schedule in his recovery and hopes to be ready for football activities in August.

Browns | Odell Beckham Jr. looks ready to play
Cleveland Browns WR Odell Beckham Jr. (core) is 'free and clear' following core muscle surgery, according to head coach Kevin Stefanski. Stefanski added Beckham is '100 percent and looking really good.'
Footballguys view: His core muscle surgery was back in January but it sounds like Beckham could play if games were today. We'll see him participate early in training camp if he truly is free and clear. Beckham is a seasoned veteran who doesn't need a ton of reps, so perhaps the team will just ease him into action to be safe.

NFL | Josh Gordon expecting reinstatement answer within month
Free-agent WR Josh Gordon (Seahawks) expects an answer from commissioner Roger Goodell on his application for reinstatement within the next 30 days.
Footballguys view: Gordon wants to get back in the NFL and there should be some interest in the veteran when he gets reinstated. We could even see Seattle bring him back for depth at the position. There are rumblings that the Ravens might have interest too and we're sure there are others.

Browns | Baker Mayfield discouraged to work with teammates
Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield has been discouraged to work out with teammates in effort to limit the chance of contracting and spreading COVID-19, head coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters during a Thursday, June 25, Zoom call.
Footballguys view: All players have been discouraged from working out together from the NFLPA. Some are listening to the recommendations and others are not.

Unreal that some of these talented players can't keep out of trouble. Brown and Gordon just can't help it. No matter how much money they could make. Sad.

Vikings | Olabisi Johnson could start in 2020
Minnesota Vikings WR Olabisi Johnson and WR Justin Jefferson are 'strong candidates' for the No. 2 receiver role in 2020, according to Eric Smith of Vikings.com.

Vikings | Limited role for Chad Beebe?
Minnesota Vikings WR Chad Beebe will likely be the No. 4 or No. 5 receiver in 2020, according to Eric Smith of Vikings.com.

Dolphins | Gary Jennings learning multiple positions
Miami Dolphins WR Gary Jennings has been learning the slot receiver position as well as the boundary receiver position this offseason. He is expected to compete for one of the final receiver spots on the roster.
Footballguys view: Jennings was a fourth-round pick of the Seahawks in the 2019 NFL draft but he was waived in the fall and picked up by the Dolphins...where he was hurt in his first game. He's got the size, measuring at 6'1" 215 pounds and that could come in handy from the slot. In college at West Virginia, Jennings used his size to keep defenders away from the ball and was known as a good route-runner. We'll keep an eye on him in deep dynasty formats.

Jets | NYJ to have competition at kicker
New York Jets PKs Sam Ficken and Brett Maher will compete for the kicker job during training camp and the preseason, according to special teams coordinator Brent Boyer.

49ers | Brandon Aiyuk under contract
San Francisco 49ers first-round draft choice WR Brandon Aiyuk signed a four-year contract with the 49ers Friday, June 26. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: Aiyuk is going to play a larger-than-expected role early on as a rookie due to the injury to Deebo Samuel. The rookie from Arizona State is all about gaining yards after the catch. He can set up defenders in the open field and make them look silly when they try to get an angle on him. The 49ers had him graded highly and were thrilled to get him in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft. He could make an impact from day one.

Browns | Baker Mayfield struggled on deep passes
Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield threw seven interceptions on throws that traveled at least 20 yards during the 2019 season.
Footballguys view: Mayfield was usually under great duress if a play took too long to develop. The team put better protection in front of him this year and that should calm things down when the QB has to go deep. Will see if that helps him improve the numbers in this area in 2020.

Colts | Philip Rivers threw INTs on deep passes
Indianapolis Colts QB Philip Rivers threw nine interceptions on throws that traveled at least 20 yards during the 2019 season when he was a member of the Los Angeles Chargers.
Footballguys view: Rivers threw interceptions all over the field. Is he done, or was 2019 just a bad year? Rivers is getting close to the end of his career, but he was interesting enough to the Colts for them to add him and make him their starter. We'll see if he can bounce back and cut down on the picks in 2020.

Cowboys | Ezekiel Elliott being sued
Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott is being sued by a pool cleaner that claims Elliott's dogs attacked her in March. In the court documents, the woman claims the Rottweiler bit her arm and dragged her ... before the two bulldogs began attacking her legs. Elliott adamantly denied wrongdoing through his lawyer, according to TMZ.

    Sunday Update

Baltimore Ravens WR Marquise Brown 'had a great offseason physically,' according to offensive coordinator Greg Roman.

Bills | Josh Allen has bulked up
Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen added muscle to his upper body this offseason, according to his personal quarterback coach, Jordan Palmer. 'He's in crazy shape and spinning it great,' Palmer said.

Bengals | Jacques Patrick may have role
Cincinnati Bengals RB Jacques Patrick could have a role in certain offensive packages this season if he makes the team, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Ben Baby.
Footballguys view: Patrick was undrafted out of Florida State in 2019. He didn't stick in the NFL as a UDFA but was selected in the XFL draft by the Tampa Bay Vipers. He was the third leading rusher in the XFL with 254 yards rushing on 60 carries with two touchdowns. He was a backup to Dalvin Cook his first couple of seasons for the Seminoles but didn't really explode onto the scene when he took over the starting job and declared for the draft as an underclassmen. There's untapped potential here with Patrick, so we will continue monitoring him in crazy deep dynasty formats.

Cardinals | Maxx Williams on track to start
Arizona Cardinals TE Maxx Williams is the leading candidate to start at tight end this upcoming season.
Footballguys view: Williams has always had a ton of natural talent but he's not played up to his potential due to injury and inconsistency as a pro. He started 10-of-16 games for the Cardinals in 2019 finishing as the no.48 fantasy tight end with just 15 catches for 202 yards and one touchdown. Williams may be the starter again this year but it is unlikely to lead to fantasy production worth note.
