I’m a Houston Oiler homer. Used to love playing their all-time great team during the late 90’s on Madden. The Moon/Campbell duo was unstoppable.

    as have we...

each time my teams have made the big game it has been against a historically great opponent..

Padres in 1984-lost in WS to Detroit who started the season 35-5 which is a MLB record

Padres in 1998-lost to Yankees in WS and at the time they won a record 114 regular season games(since eclipsed by 2001 mariners with 116)

Chargers in 1994- lost in SB to SF which was arguably one of the best teams in NFL history, completely stacked on both sides of the ball...not to mention Steve Young had not yet won any SBs and was trying to get the monkey of joe Montana off his back.

You are fighting a losing battle here, money..stand down

I’m seeing the Padres won 98 games in 1998. Not 114.

I lived in San Diego at that time and was certainly on the bandwagon. Lived less than a mile from the stadium. Was at Game 3 when Brosius hit the 3 run homer off of Hoffman. Was certainly heartbreaking.

Not sure if they deserved to win the World Series though as K.Caminti and K.Brown were two of the biggest cheats in baseball. Although I did like Gwynn and Hoffman a lot.

I was talking about the Yankees

I was at that game where Brosius hit the homer off Hoffman as well..

I know all about Caminiti and steroids, I must have missed how kevin brown cheated? Let's be honest, damn near everyone cheated in that era.

Caminiti's daughters are all pretty hot, i saw an interview with them recently when Caminiti was put in the Padre's HOF

seems to me your teams all got waxed as well

Raiders curb stomped by Tampa Bay in SB when they were favored by 4-5 points is the one that stands out when your center Barrett Robbins went on a bender in Tijuana a day or 2 before the game of his life

We are talking about heartbreak. Tuck rule, gannon getting crushed by siragusa, game 1 2000 world series, game 7 2006, blowing a 7 game lead in 07, losing last game 08 to miss playoff, Charles Smith against bulls, John starks not being able to throw the ball in game 6 against the rockets. Doesn't get much worse than any of those in Padres or chargers history

many of those are not even in the playoffs, you are reaching now

Padres and Hoffman blew 9th inning lead to Rockies in play in playoff game in the late 2000's, can't remember specific year off top of my head..

Chargers owners moving the team to LA trumps everything you listed

Chargers owners being cheap as fukk and letting all best players walk

Chargers owners not willing to pay Antonio gates, he holds out and misses first game vs Carolina(a loss) and miss playoffs by 1 game..the list goes on and on with petty stuff like this..

Padres trading pretty much anyone that was ever worth a squirt of piss

Padres history of 1st round picks absolutely laughable until a few years ago

Only thing you said with any real heartbreak is blowing lead to Rockies. You really want to compare shitty owners. Wilpons are the worst. Dolan? Chargers would have never left if the fans showed up they weren't making any money.

Only thing I listed not in playoffs was blowing 7 game lead with 17 left to play and losing the last game of 08 to miss playoffs.

Let's not forget Oakland moved to la also

Let's just be fair we both root for shitty franchises

    fair enough

I actually have high hopes in the coming years for the padres

lots of young talent but wildly inconsistent this year, I expect them to be a legit contender starting next year

Tatis Jr is already better than Machado at 20 years of age..sky is the limit for this kid

A couple days a ago a friend and I were talking "what if" about the Chargers. What if the Chargers had decided to give Drew Brees more time to develop. Instead of drafting Eli Manning, then swapping for Rivers, they could have drafted Larry Fitzgerald that went 3rd overall in that draft. That would have given them Brees, Tomlinson, Fitzgerald and Gates, all young and would have had them in their prime. That offense would have re-written every record book.

Brees was not getting it done so they drafted Rivers. Only then did Brees start playing well. Then Brees injured his shoulder and that pretty much made their decision for them. Remember, Brees was only offered a contract from the Saints and Dolphins. Everyone else was scared about his shoulder from the medical reports.

He definitely needs some mental help.

Yes he wants to fight optional the guy who is a bigger guy I'd say I want to pick a fight with me being 5'7 190 who smokes and drinks I'd throw like 5 punches be winded and pass out but he chooses the bigger guy
