NFL Player News - Week 5

    Courtesy of Footballguys,com

PIT - Le'Veon Bell to report in a few weeks?

    Source: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell is expected to report to the team during their Week 7 bye, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That date of expected return falls right before the trade deadline. Reports still indicate the Steelers are listening to offers for their star running back. Bell has softened some of this talk and is talking now of having hope to work out a longer-term deal with Pittsburgh.

CIN - TE Tyler Eifert out for season

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Updating previous reports, Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert (ankle) will miss the rest of the season after surgery to repair a broken ankle.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Back problems have limited Eifert to only 10 games over the previous two seasons. He was off to a strong start this year and now this ankle injury cuts his season short after only four games. The Bengals turn to Tyler Kroft and C.J. Uzomah to fill the void at tight end.

DAL - RB Ezekiel Elliott hurting

    Source: ESPNDallas.com - Todd Archer

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott (ankle, knee) is dealing with an ankle injury and knee bursitis, but head coach Jason Garrett is optimistic that he'll be able to practice and play this week.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Elliott is the centerpiece of the Cowboys offense, and he'll keep getting a majority of the workload. That means the Cowboys should start limiting him during the week of practice to keep him as healthy as possible.

NE - TE Rob Gronkowski doesn't practice

    Source: Patriots.com

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (ankle) missed practice Monday, Oct. 1.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gronkowski's ankle injury is considered minor. He'll be limited this week in practice if he does even get on the practice field before Thursday night's game against the Colts.

JAX - RB Leonard Fournette out again

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette (hamstring) is expected to miss at least two weeks with a hamstring injury.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy GMs that have T.J. Yeldon can expect him to get a larger role going forward. We've seen the Jaguars lean more on Blake Bortles and the passing game, so without Fournette on the field we'd give those guys a slight bump as well.

TB - QB Jameis Winston reinstalled as starter

    Source: ESPN.com - Jenna Laine

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston will replace Ryan Fitzpatrick and start at quarterback in Week 6 versus the Atlanta Falcons following the team's Week 5 bye, according to head coach Dirk Koetter.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fitzmagic is over and the team goes back to Winston. His future with the team is up in the air, and he could turn things around with strong performances from here on out. We know he's going to use WR Mike Evans and Winston loves throwing to TE Cameron Brate. However, he did have a problem connecting with WR DeSean Jackson last year. We'll see if Winston learned anything from the way Fitzpatrick was able to connect with the speedy veteran.

NYG - RB Jonathan Stewart may return

    Source: ESPN.com - Jordan Raanan

New York Giants RB Jonathan Stewart (foot) may be activated from the Reserve/Injured list later this season, according to head coach Pat Shurmur. Stewart is expected to be sidelined eight weeks because of his foot injury.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Giants are all about Saquon Barkley in the backfield. Stewart would give them veteran depth...but not much else...upon his return.

SEA - RB Mike Davis will keep playing

Source: The Seattle Times - Bob Condotta

Seattle Seahawks RB Mike Davis will continue to mix in with Seattle's running back rotation even when RB Chris Carson (hip) returns, according to head coach Pete Carroll.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Davis would make three in the backfield when Carson returns. He was the leading rusher for the team against the Cardinals on Sunday and not 2018 first-round pick Rashaad Penny. This complicates things for Fantasy GMs if Davis does keep getting worked into the mix.

NYJ - WR Terrelle Pryor sees little playing time

    Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Rich Cimini

New York Jets WR Terrelle Pryor (groin) was on the field for only two offensive snaps during the team's Week 4 game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Head coach Todd Bowles said Pryor was dealing with a sore groin, and the team did not receive many snaps on offense. Bowles would not say if Pryor will be a big part of the game plan next week.

GB - WR Randall Cobb wasn't close

    Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (hamstring) was not close to playing in Week 4 due to his hamstring injury.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Packers are thin at wide receiver with Cobb and Geronimo Allison (concussion) banged up. Cobb did say his hamstring is feeling better and that he has made strides in his recovery over the last couple days.

BAL - TE Hayden Hurst likely to debut in Week 5

    Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley

Baltimore Ravens TE Hayden Hurst (foot) has a 'good chance' to make his NFL debut in Week 5 against the Cleveland Browns, according to head coach John Harbaugh, after returning to practice last week.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Ravens are getting a potentially big asset for their offense back with Hurst. The rookie first-round pick is a big target and can be a favorite target of QB Joe Flacco. He's a streaming option for Fantasy GMs...and we like him as a TE2 with upside.

CIN - RB Joe Mixon uncertain to return in Week 5

    Source: ESPN.com - Katherine Terrell

Cincinnati Bengals RB Joe Mixon (knee) has missed two games with a knee injury, and head coach Marvin Lewis offered an 'emphatic 'we'll see'' when asked about his status for Week 5, according to ESPN's Katherine Terrell.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Watch Mixon during the week of practice. The Bengals can continue to feature Gio Bernard if Mixon has to miss more time.

HOU - WR Will Fuller nursing hamstring injury

Source: Houston Chronicle - Aaron Wilson

Houston Texans WR Will Fuller (hamstring) was not removed for precautionary reasons in Week 4 against the Indianapolis Colts, according to head coach Bill O'Brien, who told reporters he'll 'see how it goes this week' in regards to Fuller's status for Week 5 versus the Dallas Cowboys.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fuller has been dealing with this hamstring injury all season long. Every game he's played in with QB Deshaun Watson, Fuller has scored a touchdown. They'll monitor him during the week and barring setback we'll see Fuller out there for the Texans in Week 5.

SEA - RB Chris Carson may return in Week 5

Source: The Seattle Times - Bob Condotta

Seattle Seahawks RB Chris Carson (hip) should be able to play in Week 5 against Los Angeles Rams, according to head coach Pete Carroll.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Carson didn't play in Week 4 against the Cardinals and that led the team to turn to Mike Davis...not to 2018 first-round pick Rashaad Penny. With Carson back in Week 5, we should see him take back the top spot in the backfield. The team likes Penny but they need to see him run with better patience and show better knowledge of pass protection.

TB - TE O.J. Howard likely out 2-4 weeks

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE O.J. Howard (knee) is expected to miss two to four weeks after being diagnosed with an MCL sprain Monday, Oct. 1, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy GMs were double-checking the waiver wire for Cameron Brate anyway with the return of QB Jameis Winston to the starting lineup. Brate is set for a big workload with Winston already and with Howard out that only increases the times he'll get targets.

MIN - RB Dalvin Cook still bothered by hamstring

Source: Minneapolis Star Tribune - Andrew Krammer

Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook (hamstring) told reporters Monday, Oct. 1, that he'll need some more time before his injured hamstring is '100 percent' again.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hamstring injuries just need time to heal. Cook had a rough game against the Rams on Thursday night in Week 4. He was on a snap count in Week 4, with the team looking to get him "15-20 plays" in an effort to keep him from re-injuring his hamstring, according to comments from head coach Mike Zimmer. Cook played 18 snaps in Week 4 but will have a much larger workload when at full strength.

SF - WR Dante Pettis likely dodges serious injury

Source: NBC Sports Bay Area - Matt Maiocco

San Francisco 49ers WR Dante Pettis (knee) is still awaiting the results of an MRI on Monday, Oct. 1, but it is believed he did not suffer any damage to his ACL in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Chargers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

A 2018 second-round pick out of Washington this year, Pettis is a playmaker with the ball in his hands. He's still developing as a wide receiver in the pros, but Pettis can make plays as a returner today. Well, not today as he does have this knee injury. He'll likely miss a few weeks.

CIN - WR John Ross injured?

    Source: ESPN.com - Katherine Terrell

Cincinnati Bengals WR John Ross (groin) was unable to play on the team's final drive, having suffered what appeared to be a groin injury on his touchdown reception earlier in the Week 4 win over the Atlanta Falcons. After the game, Ross said he'd 'get back with the doctors' and 'figure it out tomorrow.'

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ross broke open for a long touchdown and seemed to injure his groin before crossing the goal line. We'll get more information about his status as the week of practice goes on.

    Wednesday Update

NE - TE Rob Gronkowski misses practice

    Source: ESPNBoston.com - Mike Reiss

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (ankle) was not able to practice Tuesday, Oct. 2.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gronkowski's ankle injury was thought to be minor...but we'd like to see something positive on him Wednesday. The Patriots play the Colts on Thursday night, and Gronkowski's status is up in the air. If he's your guy, make sure to stay on it Thursday to see his status.

CLE - RB Nick Chubb to play more

Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot

Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb will be on the field more going forward, according to head coach Hue Jackson. Jackson lauded the rookie's Week 4 performance, noting his impressive touchdown runs. 'Unbelievable. He has to get some [more playing time],' Jackson said. '[Carlos] Hyde is playing well, but this guy is scoring touchdowns from long ways away. I was impressed.'

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Chubb has done a fantastic job with limited touches this year. In Week 4 against the Raiders, the rookie from Georgia logged three carries for 105 yards and two touchdowns. He's naturally gifted and instinctive as a runner. We'll see if Chubb can earn some more snaps going forward and cut into the workload of the Browns starter Carlos Hyde.

CLE - WR Antonio Callaway could play less

Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot

Cleveland Browns WR Antonio Callaway might have his playing time dialed back after an off game in Week 4, according to head coach Hue Jackson. 'Some of this inconsistency comes with young players. We're going to have to depend on Antonio,' Jackson said. 'He's going to have to make plays for us as we go. We're not going to shy away from that.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bad news for Fantasy GMs who added Callaway as an exciting option to perhaps go from the waiver wire to the flex position. He's a big time playmaker with speed and quickness to burn...but it takes more than that to succeed at the NFL level. We're excited about Callaway from a dynasty perspective, but we'll have to see if he can get more consistent and earn more opportunity before we get overboard with his redraft value.

LAR - PK Cairo Santos signs with Rams

Source: NFL Network - Mike Garafolo

Updating a previous report, free-agent PK Cairo Santos (Jets) signed an undisclosed deal with the Los Angeles Rams Tuesday, Oct. 2, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If you're looking for a short-term kicker on a high powered offense, Santos could be your guy.

PIT - Le'Veon Bell open to trade

    Source: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell, who is planning to end his holdout and return to the team during the Week 7 bye, has to sign his franchise tender in order to be traded and thus could veto any offer he didn't approve of. Bell, though, told ESPN on Tuesday, Oct. 2, he is willing to work with the Steelers and other possible interested trade partners. 'I would have to know everything,' Bell said. 'It depends on what team it is and whether they want to do a long-term deal after the tag. If they really wanted to do a long-term deal, they could get me traded.'

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bell is returning in the near future but that doesn't mean he'll be back with the Steelers. They could use him as their offense doesn't look the same without him. Bell is unlikely to return to the Steelers in 2019 if they can trade him before the trade deadline later this month.

PIT - Le'Veon Bell not concerned over workload

    Source: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell, who is planning to end his holdout and return to the team later this month, said Tuesday, Oct. 2, that he is in good physical shape and is not concerned about resuming his usual heavy workload if it's in the Steelers' plans. 'My intentions (when this started, were), I'm going to save myself for when you want to make a long-term deal,' Bell told ESPN. Bell then added that, once on the field, 'I'll be fully committed and give you everything I have.'

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy GMs have been waiting patiently for this day. There are still rumblings that Bell could be traded, so we'll have to see there. There is still unclarity on how much he'd be used in his first game back though. The Steelers offense just doesn't look the same without him and the hope is he should have a sizable workload from day one. But clearly, nothing is definitive here.

NE - WR Julian Edelman may be eased back in

Source: NBC Sports Boston - Phil Perry

New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman is now eligible to play after serving a four-game PED suspension. However, Edelman's workout partner and former teammate Rob Ninkovich said the Patriots should take it easy in working Edelman back in after the slot receiver missed the 2017 season with an ACL tear. 'I just hope that he doesn't have too much,' Ninkovich said on this week's Ex-Pats Podcast. 'Everyone's like, 'Julian's back! Feed him the ball!' Yeah, Julian's back. Give him the football. But let's not over-run him into the ground and overdo it when he does have an ACL last year . . . Yeah, it's been a year, but it's still an ACL just like everyone else who has an ACL. It's not easy to come back and just take a guy flying at your knees, your legs, take these hits. When you're coming off an ACL, you didn't really play that much, you didn't really play last year because you had an ACL, and now they're going to give you 15 balls a game? And now you're going to take all those hits and run every route?'

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

They could ease him back in but Tom Brady is suggesting something different. Brady said he hopes there's a smooth transition for Edelman coming off his four-game suspension. The Patriots play on Thursday night against the Colts and upon his return we feel Edelman is a strong flex option -- with upside -- in Week 5.

SEA - TE Will Dissly placed on IR

    Source: Seahawks.com - John Boyle

Seattle Seahawks TE Will Dissly (knee) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Oct. 2. He will have surgery this week.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bad news for the 2018 fourth-round pick of the Seahawks. Dissly was making some plays here and there for Seattle and now he's got to be considered questionable for the start of the 2019 season. Nick Vannett gets a larger workload with Dissly out.

JAX - Pair of RBs work out for Jags

Source: Sirius XM NFL Radio - Adam Caplan

Free-agent RBs Orleans Darkwa (Giants) and Matt Dayes (Browns) worked out for the Jacksonville Jaguars Tuesday, Oct. 2.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's interesting that Darkwa hasn't found a new spot yet. He had 751 yards rushing for the Giants just last year. The Jaguars may need some help at the position with Leonard Fournette (hamstring) banged up.

NE - WR Josh Gordon has limited practice

    Source: Patriots.com

New England Patriots WR Josh Gordon (hamstring) was limited in practice Tuesday, Oct. 2.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gordon is going to be a boom/bust play for Fantasy GMs each week. First, he's banged up. Second, he's still learning the Patriots system. Don't get too excited about him until we see a breakout game with New England.

IND - RB Marlon Mack still limited

    Source: Colts.com - Andrew Walker

Updating a previous report, Indianapolis Colts RB Marlon Mack (hamstring) was limited in the Colts' walk-through Tuesday, Oct. 2. Mack's status is an estimation of his practice participation.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mack may return this week for the Colts. He's only played in one game this year but the Colts backfield could use his help. The team plays on Thursday night against the Patriots. Let's see what Mack can do in Wednesday's practice.

IND - Jonathan Williams joins Colts

    Source: Colts.com

Free-agent RB Jonathan Williams (Saints) was signed to the Indianapolis Colts' practice squad Tuesday, Oct. 2. RB Jeremy McNichols was waived in a corresponding move.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Williams has been around the block in the NFL. He's a big and powerful back with the speed to make him an intriguing prospect. For whatever reason, Williams has not been able to stick with teams like the Bills, Broncos or Saints. We'll see if he can make a better impression with the Colts.

DET - Detroit works out running backs

Source: Detroit Free Press - Dave Birkett

Free-agent RBs Charles Sims, Terrance West and Fitzgerald Toussaint worked out for the Detroit Lions on Tuesday, Oct. 2.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Lions are just updating their emergency list here. Rookie Kerryon Johnson should continue as their lead back and hopefully he gets more work than he did in Week 4 (only nine carries in a loss to the Cowboys).

IND - WR T.Y. Hilton still absent

Source: The Herald Bulletin - George Bremer

Indianapolis Colts WR T.Y. Hilton (chest, hamstring) remained out of practice Tuesday, Oct. 2.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It doesn't look like Hilton is going to be available to play on Thursday night against the Patriots. This means the Colts could be relying on guys like Ryan Grant, Chester Rogers and Zach Pascal at the WR position. None of those options are terribly exciting for Fantasy GMs in Week 5.

NO - RB Mark Ingram reconfigures balance

Source: The Times-Picayune - Luke Johnson

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram is back after serving a four-game suspension to open the season. 'We'll have to figure out the balance (between Ingram and RB Alvin Kamara,' Payton said Tuesday, Oct. 2. 'It'll be good for us offensively to have (Ingram) back.'

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Saints can support two RB1s for Fantasy GMs. They did that last year and should be able to pick up where they left off. Ingram will serve as a backup to Alvin Kamara but the veteran power back should get plenty of touches. In his first week back, we like Ingram as a RB2 or flex play just to see if he's eased back into action.

ATL - RB Devonta Freeman could return in Week 5

Source: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution - D. Orlando Ledbetter

Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman (knee) could return in Week 5, according to head coach Dan Quinn.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This seemed to be the plan with Freeman all along. The target date of Week 5 was speculated and here we are with Freeman suffering no known setbacks during his recovery. When he returns, Freeman will be the lead back and a low-end RB1 for Fantasy GMs. Freeman's return also signifies fewer touches for guys like Tevin Coleman and Ito Smith.

DAL - RB Ezekiel Elliott expected to play

Source: Fort Worth Star-Telegram - Clarence E. Hill Jr.

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott (ankle, knee) is expected to play in Week 5, according to owner Jerry Jones.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Elliott is dealing with a couple of nagging issues but he's still showing up big on gameday. Fantasy GMs in deeper leagues can go ahead and add Rod Smith to the mix just in case these minor ailments become more of a concern.

I've been shopping him but I finally had someone reach out to me to inquire whether he's available. I need receivers so I proposed Fournette for Adam Thielen. I think all things considered if Fournette were healthy you might consider trading a receiver of Thielen's caliber for him but I am having trouble finding a trading partner for Fournette whom I'm getting tired of.

    Thursday Update

IND - Hilton, Mack and Doyle ruled out for Week 5

    Source: Colts.com

Indianapolis Colts WR T.Y. Hilton (chest, hamstring), RB Marlon Mack (hamstring) and TE Jack Doyle (hip) have been ruled out for Week 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

    Rough news for the Colts.

JAX - RB Leonard Fournette ruled out

Source: The Athletic - Daniel Popper

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We're getting used to seeing Jacksonville without their star running back. T.J. Yeldon and Corey Grant will get the work in the backfield with Fournette out against the Chiefs. We like Yeldon as a RB2 and Grant as a flex play in Week 5.

NE - TE Rob Gronkowski questionable for TNF

    Source: Patriots.com

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (ankle) practiced on a limited basis Wednesday, Oct. 3 and is listed as questionable for the Week 5 game against the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday, Oct. 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The ankle injury is considered minor, so this was the expected outcome. Even though he's a little banged up, if Gronkowski is on the field then we consider him a TE1 for fantasy.

CIN - RB Joe Mixon officially limited

Source: The Cincinnati Enquirer - Paul Dehner Jr.

Updating a previous report, Cincinnati Bengals RB Joe Mixon (knee) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, Oct. 3.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mixon should be back in action this week. He's missed two games this year due to this knee injury and Mixon comes back against a Dolphins defense that gives up an average of 110.5 yards per game on the ground. With Mixon back, Fantasy GMs can look at him as a RB2 with upside in Week 5.

ATL - RB Tevin Coleman limited

    Source: ESPN.com - Vaughn McClure

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (shin) was limited during practice Wednesday, Oct. 3.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Coleman could be an RB2 for Fantasy GMs this week against the Steelers...if Devonta Freeman doesn't play. It looks like Freeman is going to be back this week from his knee injury, so move Coleman down to a 'what the heck' flex if that's the case.

ATL - RB Devonta Freeman listed as limited

    Source: ESPN.com - Vaughn McClure

Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman (knee) was limited during practice Wednesday, Oct. 3.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This is the week that Freeman could return for the Falcons. We've got him as a RB2 with upside against the Steelers if he can play.

DAL - RB Ezekiel Elliott practices in full

    Source: DallasCowboys.com

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott (knee) was able to take part in a full practice session Wednesday, Oct. 3.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Elliott has been a little banged up but a full practice on Wednesday means that he's good to go against the Texans on Sunday.

GB - No practice for TE Jimmy Graham

    Source: Packers.com

Green Bay Packers TE Jimmy Graham (knee) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 3.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Graham is just getting some rest here. With a banged up WR corps, the Packers may lean on Graham more this Sunday against the Lions. Check back on his practice status later in the week.

GB - QB Aaron Rodgers sits out

    Source: Packers.com

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (knee) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 3.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We should expect this every Wednesday while Rodgers deals with this knee injury.

PHI - WR Alshon Jeffery misses practice

    Source: PhiladelphiaEagles.com

Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery (chest) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 3.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The team is likely just getting Jeffery a bit of rest here on a Wednesday. Jeffery is a WR2 for Fantasy GMs this week as the Eagles take on the Vikings.

KC - WR Sammy Watkins limited in practice

    Source: KCChiefs.com

Kansas City Chiefs WR Sammy Watkins (hamstring) was listed as a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Oct. 3.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Watkins has battled nagging injuries during his pro career. The Chiefs face the Jaguars on Sunday and could use another weapon like Watkins out there. We'll know more about his playing status on Friday.

JAX - RB T.J. Yeldon limited in practice

    Source: Jaguars.com

Jacksonville Jaguars RB T.J. Yeldon (ankle) was listed as a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Oct. 3.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Yeldon is set to be the lead back for the Jaguars in a huge matchup against the Chiefs on Sunday. Corey Grant should contribute as well since the Jaguars are without Leonard Fournette this week.

NE - WR Josh Gordon questionable for Week 5

    Source: Patriots.com

New England Patriots WR Josh Gordon (hamstring) was listed as a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Oct. 3 and he is questionable for Week 5 against the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday, Oct. 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gordon is still getting used to his new playbook. Even if he does play on Thursday night against the Colts, we can't trust Gordon as anything more than a super deep flex right now.

BAL - TE Hayden Hurst limited in practice

    Source: BaltimoreRavens.com

Baltimore Ravens TE Hayden Hurst (foot) was listed as a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Oct. 3.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hurst is expected back soon. The rookie first-round pick has the skill set of an impact tight end. He's big, strong and athletic enough to create mismatches when he's on the field. Hurst should become a favorite target of QB Joe Flacco. Pick him up now if you can and stash him. He's a TE2 with upside when he's on the field as the team's starter.

BAL - RB Alex Collins limited in practice

    Source: BaltimoreRavens.com

Baltimore Ravens RB Alex Collins (knee) was listed as a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Oct. 3.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Collins hasn't appeared on the injury report all year. This doesn't seem like a big deal, so Fantasy GMs should be expecting him out there against the Browns in Week 5. Look at Collins as a RB3/flex option this week.

CIN - RB Giovani Bernard not at practice

Source: The Cincinnati Enquirer - Paul Dehner Jr.

Cincinnati Bengals RB Giovani Bernard (knee) missed practice Wednesday, Oct. 3.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bernard banged up his knee late in the game against the Falcons in Week 4. With Joe Mixon expected to return this week, Bernard might not see much work if he's healthy enough to play.

HOU - RB Lamar Miller battling chest issue

    Source: HoustonTexans.com

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (chest) was listed as a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Oct. 3 due to a chest injury.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Miller may be limited all week due to this chest issue. Fantasy GMs know that he's got RB2 potential when starting every week. This week against the Cowboys that is no different.

MIN - RB Dalvin Cook not practicing

    Source: Vikings.com

Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook (hamstring) was sidelined at practice Wednesday, Oct. 3.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Keep an eye on Cook as the week of practice goes on. He didn't get much work (10 carries) against the Rams last week and his status for Sunday's game against the Eagles is unclear.

HOU - WR DeAndre Hopkins is limited participant

    Source: HoustonTexans.com

Houston Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins (thumb, ankle, hamstring) was listed as a limited participant in practice on Wednesday, Oct. 3.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hopkins has been battling these nagging injuries for some time. He's performing at a high level and is a must-start WR1 against the Cowboys in Week 5.

HOU - WR Will Fuller doesn't practice in full

    Source: HoustonTexans.com

Houston Texans WR Will Fuller (hamstring) was able to take part in a limited practice on Wednesday, Oct. 3.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This seems to be the case with Fuller. The hamstring is going to limit him during the week with the hope that he can play on Sunday. If Fuller can't go, then Keke Coutee is in line for another big game.

IND - TE Eric Ebron has full practice

    Source: Colts.com

Indianapolis Colts TE Eric Ebron (knee) participated fully in practice Wednesday, Oct. 3.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ebron has been steady scoring touchdowns for the Colts this year. That puts him as a low-end TE1 on a weekly basis.

CLE - WR Antonio Callaway has knee injury

    Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Josh Alper

Updating a previous report, Cleveland Browns WR Antonio Callaway (knee) missed practice Wednesday, Oct. 3, because of a knee injury.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This move to keep the rookie out of practice is likely precautionary. We'll know more about Callaway's status in Week 5 against the Ravens later in the week.

WAS - RB Adrian Peterson not practicing

    Source: ESPN.com - John Keim

Washington Redskins RB Adrian Peterson (ankle) did not practice Wednesday, Oct. 3, as he recovers from an ankle sprain.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Washington plays on Monday night against the Saints in Week 5. If they can control the game, Peterson could have a sizable role against his former team. If this turns into a shootout, then we could see Washington use more of Chris Thompson in the gameplan. We'll know more about Peterson's status on Thursday.

TB - Tampa Bay hosts QB Paxton Lynch

Source: The Athletic - Greg Auman

Free-agent QB Paxton Lynch (Broncos) worked out for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Wednesday, Oct. 3.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Several teams have kicked the tires on Lynch, a 2016 first-round pick of the Broncos who was let go before the start of the regular season. Lynch has a reputation of having a questionable work ethic but he does have a strong arm and athleticism. In this QB-needy league, it's surprising nobody has yet to give him a new chance.

ATL - RB Devonta Freeman expected to play

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Updating previous reports, Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman (knee) is expected to play in Week 5, according to head coach Dan Quinn.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Freeman should be back this week for the Falcons in a must win game. This team is much better than their 1-3 record indicates. On the road against the Steelers 'defense' in Week 5, we could see the Falcons offense thrive. Freeman is a RB2 with upside this week if he plays...and if he's out there then it obviously impacts the fantasy value of Tevin Coleman who becomes more of a 'what the heck' flex in that instance.

Bad luck for Eifert, such a gruesome looking tackle when his ankle got badly bent the opposite way it's supposed to.

You think Jameis Winston will be a good free agent pickup if you don't have a QB?

    Friday Update

DEN - RB Royce Freeman to see more touches

Source: The Denver Post - Kyle Fredrickson

Denver Broncos RB Royce Freeman will see more touches, according to head coach Vance Joseph. Freeman has 10 carries of 10 yards or more, which ranks third in football.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Freeman has been very hard for the first tackler to bring down and he's running with great burst. The Broncos need more positive game scripts to feed him, so he's only a flex against the Jets this week, but this can't hurt his outlook.

KC - Limited practice for WR Sammy Watkins

    Source: NFLCommunications.com

Kansas City Chiefs WR Sammy Watkins (hamstring) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Watkins tentatively seems to be on track to play on Sunday, although he'll have a tough matchup against the Jaguars corners and the risk for re-injury looms. He's not a must-start for Week 5.

JAX - RB T.J. Yeldon listed as limited

    Source: NFLCommunications.com

Jacksonville Jaguars RB T.J. Yeldon (ankle) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'll watch Yeldon's practice report tomorrow, but he should be in line for a big workload against the Chiefs on Sunday. Even if the Jaguars fall behind, Yeldon can play a big role in the pass-heavy version of the Jaguars offense too.

HOU - Limited practice for WR DeAndre Hopkins

    Source: HoustonTexans.com

Houston Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins (ankle, hamstring, thumb) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

There's no reason to be worried about Hopkins, who appears to be ready to set career highs if Deshaun Watson can play all 16 games this year.

BAL - TE Hayden Hurst limited Thursday

Source: Akron Beacon Journal - Nate Ulrich

Baltimore Ravens TE Hayden Hurst (foot) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hurst could return this week, but with three other viable targets at tight end for the Ravens, he probably isn't more than a deep league or TE premium stash right now.

CLE - WR Antonio Callaway a limited participant

Source: Akron Beacon Journal - Nate Ulrich

Cleveland Browns WR Antonio Callaway (knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Callaway did get open deep last week, but Baker Mayfield missed him. There's talk of scaling back his role and Baltimore should make life difficult for the rookie quarterback, so Callaway isn't a great sleeper play this week.

MIN - RB Dalvin Cook misses practice

    Source: Vikings.com

Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook (hamstring) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cook is looking like a no-go this week after he has been unable to practice despite a long week of rest after last Thursday's game. Latavius Murray should get the start, but the Eagles run defense is unlikely to give him much room to run on Sunday.

TEN - WR Corey Davis has full practice

    Source: ESPN.com - Turron Davenport

Updating a previous report, Tennessee Titans WR Corey Davis (illness) was a full practice participant Thursday, Oct. 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Davis will have a tough matchup with Tre'Davious White this week, but his break out game last week makes him an upside WR3/Flex despite White's prowess against #1 receivers.

MIA - WR DeVante Parker limited

Source: The Miami Herald - Adam H. Beasley

Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker (quadriceps) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Parker can't stay on the field for the Dolphins. He could be a scratch again this week after taking three weeks to get on the field at the beginning of the season.

NYJ - WR Quincy Enunwa limited Thursday

Source: The Bergen Record - Andy Vasquez

New York Jets WR Quincy Enunwa (hip) was limited in practice Thursday, Oct. 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Enunwa has had a good PPR floor every week and appears to be the only part of the Jets offense we can truly trust week in, week out. Hopefully this injury doesn't foul that for us. We'll check back on this situation tomorrow and hope to see a full participation report.

BAL - RB Alex Collins not practicing

Source: The Athletic - Jeff Zrebiec

Baltimore Ravens RB Alex Collins (knee) was held out of practice Thursday, Oct. 4, after being limited Wednesday, Oct. 3.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This was reportedly just a precaution and Collins should be ready for the game at Cleveland on Sunday. Keep him slotted in your flex or RB2 spot if he's your best option.

WAS - WR Josh Doctson misses practice

    Source: ESPN.com - John Keim

Washington Redskins WR Josh Doctson (heel) was not able to practice Thursday, Oct. 4. His heel was stepped on in practice Wednesday, Oct. 3, and he has not practiced the last two days.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This could mean that Marshon Lattimore will stick to Paul Richardson without Doctson on the other side of the formation. Washington should pass a lot to the middle of the field this week, which helps Jamison Crowder and Jordan Reed's outlooks.

PHI - RB Corey Clement still sidelined

Source: Philadelphia Inquirer - Jeff McLane

Philadelphia Eagles RB Corey Clement (quadriceps) remained out of practice Thursday, Oct. 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jay Ajayi is in line for a big workload again this week against the Vikings and deserves some RB2/flex consideration.

ATL - RB Devonta Freeman back in action

    Source: ESPN.com - Vaughn McClure

Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman (knee) will play this weekend, according to head coach Dan Quin.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Freeman will be back, but this could be a three-way backfield with Ito Smith playing well, and the Steelers defense encourages opponents to test their pass defense instead of their more able run defense. Freeman is only a flex with the uncertainty to how his knee will respond coming off of three weeks of rest.

HOU - WR Will Fuller feeling better

Source: Houston Chronicle - Aaron Wilson

Houston Texans WR Will Fuller (hamstring) said Thursday, Oct. 4, his injured hamstring feels better and expects to play in Week 5 if his progress continues.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fuller will be a boom/bust play with his track record of scoring almost any time he's on the field with Deshaun Watson but the risk of re-injury of that balky hamstring. We might have a Sunday night game time decision, so look into a Dallas/Houston/New Orleans/Washington hedge for your bench if you are relying on Fuller.

BUF - TE Charles Clay out of practice

Source: WGR Sports Radio 550 - Sal Capaccio

Buffalo Bills TE Charles Clay (ankle) missed practice Thursday. Oct. 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Josh Allen doesn't have much help in the passing game, and if Clay is out this week, he'll have even less chance of putting up a fight against the Titans pass rush.

CIN - RB Joe Mixon practicing

    Source: ESPN.com - Katherine Terrell

Cincinnati Bengals RB Joe Mixon (knee) is practicing Thursday, Oct. 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mixon is healthier than Giovani Bernard, and he should be ready to roll for a matchup against a Dolphins defense that got shredded by the Patriots running backs last week. He's a must start in redraft and great DFS discount play.

CAR - TE Greg Olsen dressed for practice

    Source: Panthers.com - Bill Voth

Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen (foot) is dressed for practice Thursday, Oct. 4. He was hoping to return four or five weeks after breaking his foot, and this weekend would make four weeks.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Olsen probably won't be back this week, but he could return next week, which would be music to ears of teams with tight end problems. Make sure he's not on your waiver wire.

GB - RB Ty Montgomery a multi-position player

Source: Green Bay Press-Gazette - Ryan Wood

Green Bay Packers RB Ty Montgomery is viewed as a multiple-position player by head coach Mike McCarthy. Montgomery could move around with multiple injuries at receiver.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Montgomery can fill Randall Cobb's role and he can also be a dangerous receiver out of the backfield. With the Packers offense likely short-handed this week, Montgomery becomes a nice sleeper play in PPR leagues.

GB - WR Geronimo Allison still in protocol Thursday

Source: Green Bay Press-Gazette - Ryan Wood

Green Bay Packers WR Geronimo Allison (concussion) remains in the concussion protocol Thursday, Oct. 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This puts Allison on a rough timeline if we expect to see him Sunday. The odds are getting longer, and he could face a tough matchup if he does play if Davante Adams is out, leaving Darius Slay to match up with Allison.

GB - WR Randall Cobb remains out of practice

Source: Green Bay Press-Gazette - Ryan Wood

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (hamstring) remains out of practice Thursday, Oct. 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cobb won't be back this week. Look for rookie Marquez Valdes-Scantling to get more targets this week with Geronimo Allison also looking unlikely to play.

GB - WR Davante Adams idle

Source: Green Bay Press-Gazette - Ryan Wood

Green Bay Packers WR Davante Adams (calf) will be out of practice Thursday, Oct. 4, after suffering a calf injury in practice Wednesday, Oct. 3. 'We'll see how it goes,' according to head coach Mike McCarthy.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Adams outlook was already dimmed with Darius Slay likely to play him most of the afternoon. If he's not 100% that could be reason to bench him this week. Jimmy Graham and Ty Montgomery might be Aaron Rodgers top targets this week.

    Saturday Update

CIN - RB Giovani Bernard likely to miss 2-4 weeks

Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero

Updating a previous report, Cincinnati Bengals RB Giovani Bernard (knee) has been diagnosed with an MCL sprain and is expected to be out two to four weeks, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Joe Mixon is back for the Bengals this week and set for a RB1 workload. Behind Mixon, the Bengals have rookie Mark Walton (a favorite of ours in deep dynasty leagues) and Thomas Rawls.

MIN - RB Dalvin Cook questionable

    Source: Vikings.com

Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook (hamstring) was limited during practice Friday, Oct. 5, and is listed as questionable for Week 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Vikings have a huge game against the Eagles on Sunday. Cook may not be able to go and we may not know until right before game time. Fantasy GMs should consider Latavius Murray a RB3 or flex play if he gets the start on Sunday.

ATL - RB Devonta Freeman not on injury report

    Source: ESPN.com - Vaughn McClure

Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman (knee) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 5, and is not on the injury report for Week 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Freeman is on track to return this week. In a potential high-scoring game against the Steelers, Fantasy GMs should trust him as a RB2 or flex play with upside.

CIN - RB Joe Mixon not on Week 5 injury report

    Source: ESPN.com - Katherine Terrell

Cincinnati Bengals RB Joe Mixon (knee) practiced fully Friday, Oct. 5, and will not appear on the team's Week 5 injury report.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mixon is back in action for the Bengals offense this week. We like him as a RB1 against the Dolphins on Sunday.

DAL - Dallas unlikely to re-sign WR Dez Bryant

Source: The Dallas Morning News - Jon Machota

Free-agent WR Dez Bryant (Cowboys) is not an option for the Dallas Cowboys at this time, according to owner/general manager Jerry Jones.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bryant has been talking about signing with 'someone' soon...but that was a couple of weeks ago. Recent reports speculated a return to Dallas would be in order, but it doesn't seem like Jones is ready to sign Bryant back at this time. Bryant has been looking for a new team since the Cowboys released him back in mid-April.

SEA - WR Doug Baldwin a full participant

    Source: Seahawks.com - John Boyle

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin (knee) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 5, and is not on the injury report for Week 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It could be a tough time for the Seattle offense against the Rams in Week 5. We've got Baldwin as a low-end WR2 for Fantasy GMs this week due to the matchup.

SEA - RB Chris Carson on track to play

    Source: Seahawks.com - John Boyle

Seattle Seahawks RB Chris Carson (hip) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 5, and is not on the injury report for Week 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Pete Carroll has indicated this could be a three-headed backfield after the emergence of Mike Davis last week. Carson could be the lead back again but we should still see 2018 first-round pick Rashaad Penny mixed in with Davis.

GB - TE Jimmy Graham ready to play

    Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky

Green Bay Packers TE Jimmy Graham (knee) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 5, and is not on the injury report for Week 5. The Packers did not hold a practice Friday, so his practice participation is an estimation.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

With a banged up group of WRs, Aaron Rodgers might turn to Graham more. He's already a TE1 for Fantasy GMs and may see a few more targets thrown his way in Week 5.

GB - QB Aaron Rodgers not on the injury report

    Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (knee) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 5, and is not on the injury report for Week 5. The Packers did not hold a practice Friday, so his practice participation is an estimation.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Rodgers has thrown eight touchdowns the last two times he faced the Lions...now that was in 2016 but the point is he knows his divisional opponent well. With a banged up group of WRs, Rodgers may have to go to unproven targets often. Fantasy GMs may have a better option...which sounds odd considering this is Aaron Rodgers...but that's the nature of the quarterback in 2018. We've got Rodgers as a low-end QB1 in Week 5.

GB - Questionable tag for WR Davante Adams

    Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky

Green Bay Packers WR Davante Adams (calf) was limited during practice Friday, Oct. 5, and is listed as questionable for Week 5. The Packers did not hold a practice Friday, so his practice participation is an estimation.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Adams is a top-12 WR for Fantasy GMs in Week 5...even though he's banged up and may be drawing Lions CB Darius Slay. This injury is a bit of a concern but it looks like Adams is on track to play.

WAS - RB Adrian Peterson limited in practice

Source: NBC Sports Washington - Rich Tandler

Washington Redskins RB Adrian Peterson (ankle) was listed as a limited participant in practice Friday, Oct. 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If Washington can keep the game close against the Saints, Peterson should have a large role against his former team. If Washington falls behind, they'll use receiving back Chris Thompson more. We like Peterson as a low-end RB2 or flex option for Fantasy GMs in Week 5.

HOU - RB Alfred Blue might start in Week 5

Source: Houston Chronicle - Aaron Wilson

Houston Texans RB Alfred Blue might draw the start against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 5 with RB Lamar Miller (chest) likely to be a game-time decision.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Blue might have flex value if he's starting for the Texans on Sunday. Miller may be a late scratch for the Texans so don't just lock him into your lineup. Stay tuned.

HOU - WR DeAndre Hopkins off injury report

    Source: HoustonTexans.com

Houston Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins (thumb, ankle, hamstring) practiced on a limited basis Friday, Oct. 5 and he was lifted from the injury report ahead of the Week 5 game against the Dallas Cowboys.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Great news for Fantasy GMs who can breathe a sigh of relief. Hopkins has been playing through this multitude of injuries but he's been performing well. Start him as a WR1 (as per usual) in Week 5.

HOU - WR Will Fuller uncertain for SNF

    Source: HoustonTexans.com

Houston Texans WR Will Fuller (hamstring) practiced on a limited basis for the third consecutive day Friday, Oct. 5 and he is listed as questionable for the Week 5 game against the Dallas Cowboys.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Keep an eye on this situation. Fuller is a touchdown scoring machine with QB Deshaun Watson but he may not be available. That makes Keke Coutee a great flex with upside, and certainly, DFS players should be pegging Coutee for a roster spot at a good price. Although make sure to check Coutee's status as well as he's been limited in practice this week.

DAL - RB Ezekiel Elliott on track to play

    Source: HoustonTexans.com

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott (knee) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 5, and is not on the injury report for Week 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Elliott was a full participant this week, so no worries here. He's the centerpiece of the Cowboys offense and a RB1 for Fantasy GMs.

KC - Questionable tag for WR Sammy Watkins

    Source: Chiefs.com

Kansas City Chiefs WR Sammy Watkins (hamstring) was limited during practice Friday, Oct. 5, and is listed as questionable for Week 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy GMs should have other options. Watkins would help the Chiefs offense in a tough matchup against the Jaguars in Week 5.

    Sunday Update

IND - HC wants QB Andrew Luck to pass less

Source: FOX 59 Indianapolis - Mike Chappell

Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck has attempted 121 passes over the past two games, second-most in NFL history, and the most in a five-day stretch. Head coach Frank Reich wants to fix that. 'It's killing me to have to throw it this much,' Reich said Saturday, Oct. 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Colts played on Thursday night against the Patriots and Luck was filling the air with footballs again. Those 121 passes came within the span of five days. If the Colts want Luck at his best then they should find other ways to move the ball.

CLE - RB Carlos Hyde looks to keep streak alive

    Source: ClevelandBrowns.com

Cleveland Browns RB Carlos Hyde heads into the Week 5 game against the Baltimore Ravens as the only running back in the NFL to have a rushing touchdown in all four games.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hyde will lead the way for the Browns on the ground once again. However, with the emergence of rookie Nick Chubb last week (2 rushing touchdowns) perhaps we'll see more of a RBBC approach. We like Hyde as a low-end RB2 or flex play in Week 5 while Chubb is still more of a 'what the heck' flex for Fantasy GMs.

NO - RB Mark Ingram activated for Monday

Source: The Times-Picayune - Josh Katzenstein

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram was officially activated to the 53-man roster Saturday, Oct. 6 and the team cut RB Mike Gillislee to make room.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ingram is back in action for the Saints this week and the veteran back should take some touches away from Alvin Kamara. Fantasy GMs should know that this backfield can support both...just like it did last year. Kamara is the clear-cut lead back and an every week RB1 starter. Ingram might get eased back in this week with 10 or so touches...and that makes him more of a deep flex play in Week 5. Going forward, Ingram could have RB2/flex value once he's back in football shape.

WAS - RB Adrian Peterson ready to roll

    Source: ESPN.com - John Keim

Washington Redskins RB Adrian Peterson (ankle) was listed as a full participant in practice Saturday, Oct. 6 and he was removed from the injury report ahead of the Week 5 game against the New Orleans Saints.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's a revenge game for Peterson...but Washington has to stay in the game in order for him to get the touches he'd need to exact his revenge. Peterson was with the Saints last year in four games before getting traded to the Cardinals. If Washington stays in the game, then Peterson should get a RB2 workload. If they fall behind, then change-of-pace back Chris Thompson would get more work. Both are in the RB2/flex range this week in PPR leagues.

WAS - WR Paul Richardson off injury report

    Source: ESPN.com - John Keim

Washington Redskins WR Paul Richardson (shoulder) practiced in full on Saturday, Oct. 6 after being limited in each of his two previous sessions. He was removed from the injury report ahead of the Week 5 game with the New Orleans Saints on Monday, Oct. 8.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Good news for the Washington offense. The Saints defense has been shredded most of this season, and Washington should have to play catch-up football in what could be a shootout between these two offenses. Fantasy GMs should consider Richardson a WR4 or flex play in Week 5.

NO - RB Alvin Kamara ready for Monday's game

    Source: NewOrleansSaints.com

New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara (knee) was listed as a limited participant in practice Saturday, Oct. 6, but he was removed from the injury report ahead of the Week 5 game against the Washington Redskins on Monday, Oct. 8.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Kamara will have a different distribution of touches this week with the return of Mark Ingram from his four-game suspension. He's still an every week starter and RB1 for Fantasy GMs as we think Ingram won't get quite as many touches per game (18) as he did last year...especially his first week back.

NO - WR Cameron Meredith might start in Week 5

    Source: NewOrleansSaints.com

New Orleans Saints WR Cameron Meredith (knee) was limited in practice Saturday, Oct. 6, but he was removed from the injury report ahead of the Week 5 game with the Washington Redskins.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Meredith is working his way into the rotation for the Saints. He had four targets last week, snaring three passes for 32 yards against the Giants. He's only a super deep 'what the heck' flex for Fantasy GMs in Week 5...even with Ted Ginn (knee) out for Monday's game against Washington.

TB - Tampa will not add QB Paxton Lynch

Source: Tampa Bay Times - Rick Stroud

Free-agent QB Paxton Lynch (Broncos) worked out for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers earlier this week, but the team is not expected to offer him a contract.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Lynch has worked out for several teams now but nobody is yet interested in adding the 2016 first-round pick (Broncos). His reputation seems to proceed him on these stops. Lynch is big, athletic and has a strong arm...but there were plenty of questions about his work ethic during his two years in Denver.

ARI - WR Rishard Matthews to work out for Arizona

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Free-agent WR Rishard Matthews (Titans) is scheduled to work out for the Arizona Cardinals Tuesday, Oct. 9, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Matthews is getting a little bit of interest and should find a new home soon. The Cardinals are banged up at the position, so perhaps Matthews makes sense for them.

CLE - Cleveland to work out WR Rishard Matthews

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Free-agent WR Rishard Matthews (Titans) is scheduled to work out for the Cleveland Browns Monday, Oct. 8, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Browns are reportedly going to limit the snaps for rookie Antonio Callaway, so Matthews could latch on here and get some work. This might be his most likely destination.

NYG - TE Evan Engram does some cutting

    Source: ESPN.com - Jordan Raanan

New York Giants TE Evan Engram (knee) did some running and light cutting Saturday, Oct. 6, but he will likely be out until Week 7. The Thursday night game in Week 6 makes it difficult to return then.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Engram sprained his MCL in Week 3, and this report indicates that he's getting close to a return. The time of his return should be around Week 7.

OAK - RB Marshawn Lynch will stay busy

    Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Charean Williams

Oakland Raiders RB Marshawn Lynch is averaging 19.5 touches per game, his most since 2014, and head coach Jon Gruden said Lynch can handle the workload. 'We'll just keep feeding him Skittles and keep sending him out there as long as he can,' Gruden said.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Lynch's carries have gone up each of the last three weeks and he cracked the century mark for the first time this season with 130 rushing yards against the Browns last week. Against the Chargers, we like recommending Lynch as a RB2 for Fantasy GMs.

MIN - No running room for RB Dalvin Cook

    Source: ESPN.com - Courtney Cronin

Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook's (hamstring) yards per carry has dropped from 4.8 last year to 2.7 this season, and he has accounted for negative yardage on six of his 36 carries.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cook is the 46th ranked running back this year with only 59 rushing yards before contact. That's in only three games..and that's only 36 carries on the season. Clearly the Vikings need to do a better job of springing Cook free. We'll see if he can get healthier and the team can get their rushing attack back on track.

BAL - QB Joe Flacco throwing deep more often

    Source: NFL.com - Dan Hanzus

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco's yards per pass attempt has jumped from 5.72 in 2017 to 7.32 this season, and he is on pace to set a new career high in passing yards.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That's what happens when you get him a deep target like John Brown. Flacco wants to air it out deep and Brown certainly has been one of his favorite targets in 2018.

SF - QB Jimmy Garoppolo hopeful for OTAs

Source: San Francisco Chronicle - Eric Branch

San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo's (knee) surgery went 'as good as it could've,' according to head coach Kyle Shanahan, and Shanahan is hopeful that Garoppolo can participate in OTAs in some capacity.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That's cool and all but we'd recommend the team easing him back into action. Expect the 49ers to treat Garoppolo like the Eagles treated Carson Wentz this offseason -- slow and steady is the way to go.

And horrible play calling by Houston, passing on 4th and goal at the 2 inch line.

    Monday Update

NYG - Odell Beckham busy in road loss

    Source: 1 No Source

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. posted eight receptions for 131 yards and a touchdown and he also threw a 57-yard scoring pass to RB Saquon Barkley.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Beckham finally broke out and showed some great throwing ability as a trick play passer. He should have a big Week 6 on Thursday against the Eagles.

NYG - QB Eli Manning posts 326 yards, two TDs

    Source: 1 No Source

New York Giants QB Eli Manning completed 22-of-36 passes for 326 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in the Week 5 loss against the Carolina Panthers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Manning finally got the downfield passing game going against the Panthers, but it wasn't enough to win because of a huge last second field goal. He'll have a streamable matchup on Thursday against Philadelphia.

NYJ - WR Quincy Enunwa blanked in home victory

    Source: 1 No Source

New York Jets WR Quincy Enunwa was targeted five times in Week 5 against the Denver Broncos but he went without a catch.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Enunwa was considered a safe PPR start after a strong and consistent September, but let us down as the running game and Robby Anderson were too efficient. He'll still have a good matchup against the Colts secondary next week.

NYJ - RB Bilal Powell flirts with century mark

    Source: 1 No Source

New York Jets RB Bilal Powell rushed 20 times for 99 yards in Week 5 against the Denver Broncos.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Powell was the lesser fantasy back even though the Jets seem to prefer him in terms of volume. He's still injury/bye material with his ability and role, but behind Isaiah Crowell in our pecking order.

NYJ - RB Isaiah Crowell goes bonkers in home win

    Source: ESPN Stats and Information

New York Jets RB Isaiah Crowell rushed 15 times for a career-high 219 yards and a touchdown in Week 5 against the Denver Broncos and he added one reception for 12 yards. He averaged 14.6 yards per rush, the highest average in a game by a player with at least 15 attempts in NFL history.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Crowell had his third huge game of the season in only five weeks. While his floor is low, his ceiling appears to be as high as any running back that isn't in the top 5-10. He'll have a chance to keep his hot streak going against the Colts next week.

DEN - Nine grabs for WR Emmanuel Sanders

    Source: 1 No Source

Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders posted nine catches for 72 yards on 14 targets in Week 5 against the New York Jets.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Sanders broke into the box score mostly late during garbage time. He could be in danger of a value hit if Case Keenum is benched because he has been Keenum's favorite receiver. He'll be a WR3/Flex play against the Rams next week.

DEN - WR Courtland Sutton scores first TD

    Source: 1 No Source

Denver Broncos WR Courtland Sutton finished with two grabs for 18 yards and his first NFL touchdown in Week 5 against the New York Jets.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Sutton was open more than his stats indicate, but he was missed by Case Keenum on multiple plays. He also hustled to stop a pick six when the game was decided. He could benefit if the Broncos make a quarterback change.

LAR - WR Brandin Cooks out with concussion

    Source: TheRams.com

Los Angeles Rams WR Brandin Cooks (concussion) suffered a concussion in Week 5 against the Seattle Seahawks and he will not return.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cooks took a big hit and may not be ready for next week's game against the Broncos. Robert Woods might be the clear #1 for the matchup in Week 6.

LAR - WR Cooper Kupp evaluated for concussion

    Source: TheRams.com

Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp (concussion) left the Week 5 game against the Seattle Seahawks due to a concussion. He had six grabs for 90 yards and a score on nine targets before departing.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Kupp and Brandin Cooks are in danger for next week's matchup against the Broncos. The tight ends could play a much larger role in the passing game next week.

CLE - TE David Njoku targeted 11 times

    Source: 1 No Source

Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku racked up team bests with six catches, 69 yards and 11 targets in Week 5 against the Baltimore Ravens.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Njoku should continue to be one of Baker Mayfield's main targets with his huge wingspan and other physical gifts. His value is trending up.

CIN - RB Joe Mixon rushes for 93 yards

    Source: NFL.com

Cincinnati Bengals RB Joe Mixon rushed for 93 yards on 22 carries against the Miami Dolphins in Week 5. He also caught three passes for 22 yards and one touchdown during the game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mixon started slow and finished strong as there was little concern about the size of his workload despite buzz to the contrary before the game. He'll be a strong RB1 against the Steelers next week.

CLE - QB Baker Mayfield posts 342 yards in win

    Source: 1 No Source

Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield completed 25-of-43 passes for a 342 yards, one touchdown and one interception in the Week 5 overtime win against the Baltimore Ravens.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mayfield's stats were boosted by the extra period. He is still not making it look as easy as he did against the Jets when he came off of the bench, but Mayfield should be able to support the value of David Njoku and Jarvis Landry.

MIA - RB Kenyan Drake more involved as receiver

    Source: NFL.com

Miami Dolphins RB Kenyan Drake caught seven passes for 69 yards and one touchdown against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 5. He also rushed for 46 yards on six carries during the game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Drake came through on our benches with his involvement in the passing game, but the Dolphins aren't going to feature him in the offensive this year. The ferocious Bears defense is up next, so it will be risky to count on Drake to have his second good fantasy week of the season in Week 6.

BAL - WR John Brown targeted 14 times

    Source: 1 No Source

Baltimore Ravens WR John Brown posted four receptions for 58 yards on a game-high 14 targets in Week 5 against the Cleveland Browns.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Brown was targeted like a #1 receiver, but he didn't produce like one. The Browns have a budding #1 corner in Denzel Ward who may see a lot of Keenan Allen next week. If this is a floor game for Brown, then he's still a solid WR2/WR3 against the Titans next week.

SF - RB Matt Breida injured in first half

Source: NBC Sports Bay Area - Matt Maiocco

San Francisco 49ers RB Matt Breida (leg) suffered an apparent left leg injury in the first half of the Week 5 game against the Arizona Cardinals and he needed to be assisted off the field.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Breida was off to a hot start in the very good matchup, but hasn't been able to stay on the field for long without an injury in 2018. Alfred Morris will be claimed in a lot of leagues where he was recently dropped.

PIT - RB James Conner has big performance

    Source: NFL.com

Pittsburgh Steelers RB James Conner rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 5. He also caught four passes for 75 yards during the game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Conner had an extra spring in his step from the first touch in this one. He should be treated as an RB1 next week against the Bengals, but who knows what will be on the other side of the Week 7 bye with Leveon Bell possibly returning.

ATL - WR Calvin Ridley held in check

    Source: NFL.com

Atlanta Falcons WR Calvin Ridley caught four passes for 38 yards against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ridley like the rest of the Falcons offense came back to earth at Pittsburgh. It would be foolish to overreact by benching him next week against the generous Tampa defense.

BAL - QB Joe Flacco just misses 300 yards

    Source: 1 No Source

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco completed 29-of-56 passes for 298 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in Week 5 against the Cleveland Browns.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Flacco got the volume that had been fueling his solid start to the year, but the Browns defense frustrated him all day. He was on the verge of being a reliable every week start, but now we have to question his streamability against the Titans next week.

BUF - RB LeSean McCoy totals 108 scrimmage yards

    Source: 1 No Source

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy rushed 24 times for 85 yards in Week 5 against the Tennessee Titans and he added two receptions for a team-high 23 yards on three targets.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Sadly this is a ceiling game for McCoy. He ran well despite his so-so yards per carry and the passing game isn't generating much offense for him. He's just a flex play at Houston next week.

ATL - RB Devonta Freeman quiet in Week 5

    Source: NFL.com

Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman rushed for 32 yards on eight carries against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 5. He also caught two passes for nine yards during the game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Freeman was part of a three-headed backfield and he faces a tough Bucs run defense next week. He's probably not worth a start until he has a big game in his lead committee back role.

TEN - RB Derrick Henry does better in Week 5

    Source: 1 No Source

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry rushed 11 times for 56 yards in Week 5 against the Buffalo Bills and he didn't have a catch on just one target.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Henry was effective but the game script to allow him to finish a win never materialized. He should be on our benches against Baltimore next week.

TEN - QB Marcus Mariota doesn't do much

    Source: 1 No Source

Tennessee Titans QB Marcus Mariota completed just 14-of-26 passes for 129 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in Week 5 against the Buffalo Bills and he added two runs for 10 yards.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Bills defense was competitive at home, the Titans might have been tired after an overtime marathon, and the offense lost Taylor Lewan. No matter what it was, Mariota and the Titans offense lost some of the trust they gained heading into a matchup with Baltimore next week.
