    Monday Update

GB - QB Aaron Rodgers carted to locker room then returns

    Source: Yahoo! Sports

Updating a previous report, Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (knee) was carted off to the locker room due to the left knee injury he suffered in the second quarter of the Week 1 game against the Chicago Bears. He was able to return after halftime.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The team gave this short statement at halftime: "QB Aaron Rodgers has a knee injury & his return is questionable." Rodgers returned to the field for the 3rd quarter.

CAR - TE Greg Olsen in walking boot

Source: NFL Network - Andrew Siciliano

Updating a previous report, Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen (foot) returned to the sidelines in Week 1 against the Dallas Cowboys on crutches while wearing a walking boot on his right foot.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This is the same foot he broke last year. We might not be seeing him for a while. Rookie Ian Thomas becomes the starter, while there might be a few targets freed up in a crowded Panthers passing game.

TEN - TE Delanie Walker carted off in Week 1

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (ankle) suffered a right ankle injury in the fourth quarter of the Week 1 game against the Miami Dolphins and he need to be carted off for what appeared to be a serious injury.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Walker's season might be over. Jonnu Smith would become the starter, and some targets might shake free for other receivers, but this is a bad development for the Titans offense.

TEN - QB Marcus Mariota leaves with elbow ailment

Source: 104.5 The Zone - Paul Kuharsky

Tennessee Titans QB Marcus Mariota (elbow) was forced to leave the Week 1 game against the Miami Dolphins in the second half due to an elbow injury. He is questionable to return.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mariota wasn't looking good already had a hand issue in this game. He might not get the start against the Texans next week and his fantasy value was already on the decline before his second injury.

SEA - WR Doug Baldwin leaves Week 1 game

Source: The Seattle Times - Bob Condotta

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin (knee) suffered a knee injury in the second quarter of the Week 1 game against the Denver Broncos and he was unable to return.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It appears that it was not the same knee that was giving Baldwin trouble in camp, but it's still a disturbing development for Baldwin and the Seahawks offense. Russell Wilson was inclined to spread the ball around without Baldwin, but did well against a tough defense. He'll face another tough defense next week against Chicago.

JAX - RB Leonard Fournette productive before injury

    Source: NFL.com

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette (hamstring) rushed for 41 yards on nine carries against the New York Giants in Week 1 before he left the game because of a hamstring injury.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The team was optimistic about him after the game, but it's hard to imagine Fournette playing next week on a hamstring that didn't allow him to return today. TJ Yeldon will be one of the top waiver pickups of Week 2 in a likely start against Patriots.

TB - QB Ryan Fitzpatrick accounts for five TDs

    Source: NFL.com

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Ryan Fitzpatrick went 21-for-28 for 417 yards and four touchdowns against the New Orleans Saints in Week 1. He also rushed for 36 yards and one touchdown on 12 carries.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fitzpatrick was the fantasy shocker of Week 1. He may give weight to general manager Jason Licht's comments about not committing to Jameis Winston when he returns in Week 4. The Saints defense was a disaster, but the Eagles defense won't give Fitzpatrick anything easy next week.

    PIT - Le'Veon Bell won't be traded

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

The Pittsburgh Steelers have not entertained the option of trading RB Le'Veon Bell, according to a source. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the Steelers are willing to wait for him and some around the league believe that Bell could return to the club before the end of September.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We can't trust "some around the league", but David Johnson's contract should show Bell that he is getting paid as much as he can expect in the open market next year on a per game basis this year if he plays under the franchise tag.

BAL - RB Alex Collins scores but held to 13 yards

    Source: 1 No Source

Baltimore Ravens RB Alex Collins rushed seven times for just 13 yards and a touchdown in Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Collins never got going in this game, but he never needed to. An early touchdown kept this from being a total loss. He's a low ceiling RB2 until we see if the Ravens are becoming a pass-heavy team, but Collins is still the lead back in a good situation.

BUF - TE Charles Clay goes without a catch

    Source: 1 No Source

Buffalo Bills TE Charles Clay was held without a catch on two targets in Week 1 against the Baltimore Ravens.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Clay is droppable across formats with the Bills offense stuck in the driveway.

BUF - WR Kelvin Benjamin nearly invisible

    Source: 1 No Source

Buffalo Bills WR Kelvin Benjamin had just one catch for 10 yards on seven targets in Week 1 against the Baltimore Ravens.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Benjamin is not going to be able to sustain value with the Bills quarterback play this year. He's droppable in redraft leagues.

BUF - RB LeSean McCoy unproductive in rout

    Source: 1 No Source

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy rushed seven times for just 22 yards in Week 1 against the Baltimore Ravens and he added one catch for minus-1 yard.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

McCoy's promised volume didn't come in this blowout. Things could be better next week against Chargers, but it's going to be along season for the Bills offense.

CLE - RB Duke Johnson totals six touches

    Source: 1 No Source

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson rushed five times for 17 yards in Week 1 against the Pittsburgh Steelers and he added one catch for eight yards on six targets.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Tyrod Taylor is going to be bad for Duke Johnson's value. He's barely rosterable right now even in a PPR league.

CLE - RB Carlos Hyde busy in Week 1 tie

    Source: 1 No Source

Cleveland Browns RB Carlos Hyde rushed 22 times for 62 yards and a touchdown in the Week 1 tie against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hyde had to work for every yard, but he got a lot of work in the sloppy conditions and converted his goal line opportunity. He'll remain a low ceiling RB2/Flex against the Saints next week.

PIT - RB James Conner runs well in Week 1

    Source: ESPNFlorida.com - Tommy Rancel

Pittsburgh Steelers RB James Conner rushed 31 times for 135 yards and two touchdowns in Week 1 against the Cleveland Browns and he added five catches for 57 yards.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Conner had a key fumble that probably cost the Steelers the win, but he ran hard in the rain and looked good as a receiver. Unless LeVeon Bell shows up early next week, Conner will be an RB1 play against the Chiefs defense.

MIN - RB Dalvin Cook mediocre in Week 1 win

    Source: 1 No Source

Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook rushed 16 times for just 40 yards in Week 1 against the San Francisco 49ers and he added six catches for 55 yards on seven targets.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cook got a heavy workload early, but was much more successful as a receiver. The Vikings offensive line wasn't that effective at opening holes, but Cook looked like the player he was pre-injury in the win. He'll be a solid PPR RB1 against Green Bay next week.

NYG - RB Saquon Barkley has terrific debut

    Source: NFL.com

New York Giants RB Saquon Barkley rushed for 106 yards and one touchdown on 18 carries against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 1. He also caught two passes for 22 yards during the game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Barkley was ineffective on most of his carries and then broke multiple tackles and ran away from the Jaguars defense. He'll be a threat to score on any touch and probably deliver on his ADP despite long stretches of ineffectivness against disciplined defense. The Cowboys are up next week.

MIN - RB Latavius Murray busy late in win

    Source: 1 No Source

Minnesota Vikings RB Latavius Murray rushed 11 times for a team-best 42 yards in Week 1 against the San Francisco 49ers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Murray got a lot of his work after the Vikings opened a lead. He's just an injury handcuff heading into a matchup with the Packers.

JAX - RB T.J. Yeldon plays well in Week 1

    Source: NFL.com

Jacksonville Jaguars RB T.J. Yeldon rushed for 51 yards on 14 carries against the New York Giants in Week 1. He also caught three passes for 18 yards and one touchdown during the game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Yeldon wasn't super productive, but he was competent and he helped Jaguars win on the road. He is likely to start next week against the Patriots with Leonard Fournette nursing a sore hamstring that knocked him out of Week 1.

SF - WR Marquise Goodwin blanked in Week 1

    Source: 1 No Source

San Francisco 49ers WR Marquise Goodwin (quadriceps) was held without a catch in Week 1 against the Minnesota Vikings and he was targeted just once.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Goodwin wasn't doing much before his injury, but he's not a drop yet. He did leave the game twice with a quad injury and didn't finish the game, so we probably won't use him against the Lions next week.

SF - TE George Kittle busy in road loss

    Source: 1 No Source

San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle had team highs with five receptions and 90 yards in the Week 1 loss against the Minnesota Vikings and he also led the team with nine targets.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Kittle was finding large spaces in the middle of the field and proved himself as a fantasy TE1. He'll have a good matchup against the Lions next week.

SF - RB Matt Breida splits carries evenly

    Source: 1 No Source

San Francisco 49ers RB Matt Breida rushed 11 times for a game-high 46 yards in the Week 1 loss against the Minnesota Vikings.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Breida wasn't considerably better than Alfred Morris, but at least he didn't fumble at the goal line. We'll get a better idea of his possible value against Detroit next week, so in typical leagues he should be a hold.

SF - QB Jimmy Garoppolo has disastrous opener

    Source: 1 No Source

San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo completed 15-of-33 passes for 261 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions in the Week 1 loss against the Minnesota Vikings.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Garoppolo had a pick six, but was also let down by an Alfred Morris goal line fumble and Marquise Goodwin's quad injury. He and Dante Pettis had something good going, and the matchup will get a lot better against the Lions next week. This result was more about the Vikings defense quality than Garoppolo being exposed.

IND - RB Jordan Wilkins leads Indy backfield

    Source: 1 No Source

Indianapolis Colts RB Jordan Wilkins rushed 14 times for a team-best 40 yards in Week 1 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Wilkins also caught a few passes, but didn't really have an impact play in this one. The Colts offense should be getting better, but the backfield should also be getting more crowded.

IND - QB Andrew Luck tosses two TDs in loss

    Source: ESPNFlorida.com - Tommy Rancel

Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck completed 39-of-53 passes for 319 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in Week 1 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Luck reinvented himself as a short passer a la Tom Brady and it was a success despite the tough matchup and offensive line injuries. He'll be a QB1 going forward, including next week against Washington.

CIN - WR John Ross scores in Week 1 victory

    Source: 1 No Source

Cincinnati Bengals WR John Ross managed just one catch for three yards in Week 1 against the Indianapolis, but at least it was good for a touchdown.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ross didn't get a big chance to put his stamp on his game, but he made a nice play on his score. He'll be on our benches vs Baltimore this week and probably isn't an essential hold for Week 2 in short bench leagues.

TB - WR Mike Evans finishes with 147 yards

    Source: NFL.com

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans caught seven passes for 147 yards and one touchdown against the New Orleans Saints in Week 1.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Evans had a long touchdown to finish off the Saints and benefited from Ryan Fitzpatrick's aggressive style. His ability to have a huge game when other parts of the Bucs passing game are going off is a great sign for Evans value.

If any Bills fan managed to watch this game past halftime, the team should send them some sort award. In what might go down as the ugliest first half in NFL history, the Bills got zero first downs and totaled just 33 yards in the opening half against Baltimore. The only thing uglier than those numbers was Nathan Peterman's passer rating (0.0). Peterman's career resume now includes a five-interception performance in 2017 and a game with a 0.0 passer rating in 2018. If I'm Bills coach Sean McDermott, I'm either running the Wildcat for the rest of the season or I'm starting Josh Allen, but whatever I'm doing, I'm not letting Peterman back on the field.

Exactly! Peterman is awful, why not start Allen?
