NFL Player News - Week 14

NE - TE Rob Gronkowski suspended for one game

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski has been suspended one game for a hit on Buffalo Bills CB Tre'Davious White (concussion) last week. Gronkowski will appeal the suspension.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gronkowski is lucky to get only one game here but he is appealing the suspension. If the suspension is upheld, Gronkowski will miss the first week of the fantasy playoffs in Week 14 against the Dolphins. Dwayne Allen would get the start without Gronk in the lineup, but he doesn't have the TE1 upside like his teammate.

NYG - Jerry Reese let go

Source: NFL Network - Aditi Kinkhabwala

New York Giants general manager Jerry Reese was fired Monday, Dec. 4, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Reese got two Super Bowl rings with the Giants early in his time with the team as GM. Things have slowly decayed since then. The offensive line problems continue to plague this team, and there has been hits and misses on the defensive side of the ball through the draft and free agency.

    NYG - Ben McAdoo fired

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

New York Giants head coach Ben McAdoo was relieved of his duties Monday, Dec. 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The writing was on the wall for quite some time, even though ownership gave McAdoo the 'vote of confidence' about a month ago. It seems like the handling of Eli Manning and putting him on the bench did not sit well with the higher ups in the organization. Problems in the locker room and the team's record led to this decision, even though McAdoo had this team in the playoffs last year.

DEN - QB Trevor Siemian will remain starter

    Source: 9News.com - Mike Klis

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian will start this week against the New York Jets.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Broncos don't need to see more of Brock Osweiler and 2016 first-round pick Paxton Lynch is recovering from a high ankle sprain he suffered in Week 13. Siemian had a bad day against the Dolphins on Sunday and might not be much better this week at home against the Jets.

NYG - QB Eli Manning named Week 14 starter

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Updating an earlier report, New York Giants Eli Manning has been reinstalled as the starting quarterback for Week 14 against the Dallas Cowboys.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

With Ben McAdoo and Jerry Reese getting fired, the message was clear that benching Manning for Week 13 was a mistake. The team came under a lot of fire nationally after McAdoo's power move and now ownership has righted the ship. That being said, there's no telling whether or not Manning will stay with the Giants in 2018 and beyond. He's currently under contract through the 2019 season.

NYG - Steve Spagnuolo takes over

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

New York Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo will serve as the interim head coach.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Spagnuolo has head coaching experience from his days as the top man for the Rams (2009-2011). He was in the mix for the head coaching job back in 2016 after Tom Coughlin was shown the door, and now Spagnuolo gets to show what he can do in an interim role. The Giants are going to make more changes in the offseason, and there's no telling whether or not Spagnuolo would be considered for the permanent job in 2018 and beyond.

GB - QB Aaron Rodgers to run scout team

    Source: ESPN - Chris Mortensen

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (collarbone) will work with the scout team in practice this week, according to a source. He would be eligible to play Dec. 17 against the Carolina Panthers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Packers just have to get through the next two games and then Rodgers could return in Week 15. He's already been throwing long distances and working with the scout team shows that Rodgers is on the right track to return. The team has a game against the Browns in Week 14, and there's a good chance they'll be 7-6 and still in the playoff hunt when Rodgers is ready to go.

NO - RB Mark Ingram limited Monday

    Source: NFL

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram (toe) was limited during practice Monday, Dec. 4. The Saints did not hold a practice Monday, so this is an estimation.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's a short week for the Saints as they travel to play the Falcons on Thursday night. Check back to see if Ingram can practice on Wednesday.

SEA - RB Chris Carson not ready for practice

Source: The Seattle Times - Bob Condotta

Seattle Seahawks RB Chris Carson (ankle, leg) will not participate in practice this week, according to head coach Pete Carroll.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

According to Carroll, Carson will need two weeks of practice before he gets back to the playing field. That means Carson could return for the 'real' postseason in the NFL, but he is unlikely to get back in time to help during the fantasy playoffs.

LAC - TE Hunter Henry expected to be fine

    Source: ESPN.com - Eric D. Williams

Los Angeles Chargers TE Hunter Henry (knee) is dealing with a sore knee after hurting his knee in Week 13 but is expected to be fine, according to head coach Anthony Lynn.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Chargers play against Washington in Week 14, and Henry has TE1 upside provided he plays. Check back later in the week to monitor his practice status, but things look like Henry is going to be good to go by Sunday.

DEN - QB Paxton Lynch to miss another game

    Source: 9News.com - Mike Klis

Denver Broncos QB Paxton Lynch (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 14 because of his high ankle sprain.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Trevor Siemian will start against the Jets on Sunday. Lynch, a first-round pick in 2016, has been injured most of his sophomore season (shoulder, ankle) after failing to beat Siemian out for the starting job in training camp. Lynch has the makings of a bust, even with only three games started as a pro.

OAK - WR Michael Crabtree back on roster

    Source: Raiders.com

Oakland Raiders WR Michael Crabtree was activated from the Reserve/Suspended list Monday, Dec. 4. The team also waived DT Darius Latham.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Crabtree is back in action this week, just in time for a divisional game against the Chiefs. When he's on the field, Crabtree has WR1 upside for fantasy owners.

PHI - TE Zach Ertz in protocol

Source: The Philadelphia Inquirer - Jeff McLane

Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz (concussion) is in the concussion protocol, according to head coach Doug Pederson. Ertz left early in Week 13 against the Seattle Seahawks.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ertz will have to get through the protocol before he can play. That will include a limited practice when he's ready. We'll know more about his status later in the week. Fantasy owners need to have other options at the ready just in case Ertz can't go.

TEN - TE Delanie Walker day-to-day

    Source: TitanInsider.com - Terry McCormick

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (ankle) is considered day-to-day with an ankle injury.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

In Week 14, the Titans travel to play against the Cardinals. We expect Walker to be out there on Sunday, but make sure to monitor his practice status during the week.

TEN - WR Rishard Matthews should return

    Source: TitansOnline.com - Jim Wyatt

Tennessee Titans WR Rishard Matthews (hamstring) is considered day-to-day but is expected to be back on the field in Week 14, according to head coach Mike Mularkey.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Matthews speed and ability to take the top off the defense has been missed. We'll get more information about his availability later in the week.

NYG - Odell Beckham's future not secured?

    Source: ESPN.com - Jordan Raanan

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. is expected to be a part of the Giants' future, but owner John Mara said he would discuss that with the new general manager and head coach.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Beckham had his fifth-year option picked up and is under the team's control through the 2018 season. The new leadership should see what everyone sees, that Beckham is a superstar who will get top money at the WR position. Once that happens, we could see the team work to get a new long-term deal done with Beckham.

BUF - QB Tyrod Taylor escapes major injury

    Source: WKBW.com - Joe Buscaglia

Updating an earlier report, Buffalo Bills QB Tyrod Taylor (knee) did not suffer ligament damage in his knee and is day-to-day with a patella tendon contusion, according to head coach Sean McDermott.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
That's great news for Taylor and the Bills but it doesn't lock him into the lineup for Week 14. McDermott has said that Taylor is the starter 'when healthy' but there's no telling when Taylor will be at full strength. If Taylor can't play, Nathan Peterman would get another start this time against the Colts on Sunday.

In a statement, Steelers GM Kevin Colbert said Ryan Shazier (back) does not need surgery and "continues to improve."

Shazier reportedly suffered a spinal contusion on Monday night against the Bengals. It is good news considering how bad things looked on the field, and Shazier has reportedly regained some movement in his legs. Colbert said they are hopeful Shazier will be able to return to Pittsburgh on Tuesday.

    Wednesday Update

PIT - WR JuJu Smith-Schuster suspended one game

    Source: ESPN.com - Field Yates

Pittsburgh Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster has been suspended for Week 14 against the Baltimore Ravens for his illegal peel-back block on and subsequent taunt of Cincinnati Bengals LB Vontaze Burfict in Week 13 versus the Cincinnati Bengals.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Monday night's game between the Steelers and the Bengals got out of hand, so the league is stepping in to squelch this sort of behavior. Smith-Schuster blasted Bengals LB Vontaze Burfict then stood over him and taunted him. The league is suspending the rookie WR for the hit and for the taunting. There will be an appeal, but the one-game ban may stand and that gives Martavis Bryant more fantasy value in Week 14 against the Ravens.

NO - No practice for RB Mark Ingram

    Source: ESPN.com - Mike Triplett

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram (toe) was not able to practice Tuesday, Dec. 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Saints have a short week as they play against the Falcons on Thursday night. Make sure Ingram gets at least a partial practice in on Wednesday. If Ingram can't play, the team would turn even more to Alvin Kamara. We could also see a role develop for Trey Edmunds or Jonathan Williams if Ingram is out.

NE - TE Rob Gronkowski's suspension stands

Source: NFL Network - Mike Garafolo

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski's one-game suspension was upheld Tuesday, Dec. 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy owners will be without Gronkowski in the first week of the fantasy playoffs. The Patriots will turn to Dwayne Allen as their top TE with undrafted rookie Jacob Hollister backing him up on Monday night against the Dolphins. If you need TE help, then check the waiver wire for Stephen Anderson as he's starting for the Texans this week.

HOU - Two Texans sent to IR

Source: NFL Network - James Palmer

Houston Texans WR Bruce Ellington (hamstring) and TE C.J. Fiedorowicz (concussion) were placed on the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Dec. 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ellington being lost for the season hurts their depth at the WR position, but they could be getting Will Fuller (ribs) back this week. Fiedorowicz has suffered three concussions over the last 12 months and his future in football is in serious doubt. Stephen Anderson will take over as the starting TE for the Texans this week.

OAK - WR Amari Cooper still in protocol

Source: Las Vegas Review-Journal - Michael Gehlken

Oakland Raiders WR Amari Cooper (concussion, ankle) remains in the concussion protocol and is still nursing an ankle injury.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

All reports indicate the ankle problem is worse than the concussion. We could see Cooper cleared from the concussion protocol some time this week. We'll be monitoring his practice status closely before the Raiders big divisional battle against the Chiefs on Sunday.

BUF - WR Jordan Matthews placed on IR

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Buffalo Bills WR Jordan Matthews (knee) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Dec. 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Matthews first (and likely only) year in Buffalo goes down as a huge disappointment. He's missed time and battled through a multitude of injuries, including knee, chest and thumb problems. A second-round pick in 2014, Matthews is headed for the open market this offseason. With a history of knee problems and coming off such a down year (25 catches, 282 yards, one touchdown), we can't imagine teams falling all over themselves to sign Matthews.

PIT - Le'Veon Bell seeing incredible usage

    Source: USA TODAY Fantasy Sports

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell has been on the field for more than 91% of the Steelers' offensive plays this year. That's 11% more than the next highest running back.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bell has had over 100 all-purpose yards (rushing, receiving) in seven straight games. Expect the superstar RB to continue getting a featured role (and then some) as the Steelers have a huge game at home against the Ravens in Week 14.

KC - QB Alex Smith underperforming at home

    Source: USA TODAY Fantasy Sports

Kansas City Chiefs QB Alex Smith has averaged 238.2 yards and thrown just five touchdowns in five home games this season compared to 292.6 yards and 18 touchdowns in seven road games.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Chiefs lost to the Jets last week, but it wasn't due to Smith. He had 366 yards passing, four touchdowns and 70 yards rushing in Week 13. After buzz that rookie QB Patrick Mahomes could get to start, Smith squashed that with a monster game last Sunday. We'll see if he can continue his hot play but this time at home in a big game against the Raiders in Week 14.

NYJ - RB Bilal Powell with prime matchup

    Source: USA TODAY Fantasy Sports

New York Jets RB Bilal Powell has a great matchup against the Denver Broncos in Week 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Watch to see how Matt Forte (knee) progresses through the week of practice. The Jets are on the road this week, but the Broncos defense is reeling after starting off the season strong against the run. The Broncos have allowed the second-most points per game to running backs over the last five weeks.

    Thursday Update

NO - RB Mark Ingram listed as questionable

Source: The Times-Picayune - Herbie Teope

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram (toe) did not practice for second straight day Wednesday, Dec. 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Things are not looking good for Ingram's availability on Thursday night against the Falcons. If Ingram can't play, Alvin Kamara could be the top fantasy RB in Week 14. Kamara is already a RB1 for fantasy owners and would just get a larger workload without Ingram. If we don't see Ingram on Thursday, there might be more snaps for guys like Jonathan Williams or Trey Edmunds.

CAR - TE Greg Olsen practicing

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen (foot) is practicing Wednesday, Dec. 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Olsen missed Week 13 due to this foot injury that was aggravated the previous week against the Jets. The team was on artificial turf last week and decided to give Olsen a break. This week they're home on grass and it looks like Olsen will return to the field. Consider him a TE2 against the Vikings this week, partly due to this injury and partly due to this tough matchup.

Seattle Seahawks TE Jimmy Graham (ankle) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 6.

Arizona Cardinals RB Kerwynn Williams (ribs) was limited during practice Wednesday, Dec. 6.

We could see Williams as the lead back for the Cardinals this week if Adrian Peterson (neck) can't play.

HOU - WR Will Fuller limited in practice

    Source: 49ersWebZone.com - David Bonilla

Houston Texans WR Will Fuller (ribs) was able to take part in practice on a limited basis Wednesday, Dec. 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It would be good for the Texans to get Fuller back this week if at all possible. They will be without Bruce Ellington (hamstring) and could use Fuller as a starter opposite DeAndre Hopkins. Check back to see if he can fully participate later in the week.

CAR - RB Christian McCaffrey practices in full

    Source: Panthers.com

Carolina Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey (shoulder) practiced in full on Wednesday, Dec. 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

In PPR leagues, McCaffrey is an RB2 with upside. The Panthers are using him plenty as a receiver out of the backfield, and he could do more as a rusher if called upon with Jonathan Stewart battling a foot injury.

TB - RB Doug Martin practices in full

Updating a previous report, Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Doug Martin (concussion) practiced in full Wednesday, Dec. 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Martin has to practice in order to get through the protocol. We'll see if he has any setbacks after going through practice on Wednesday. Martin could play in Week 14 and that would negatively impact the fantasy potential of Peyton Barber in the first week of the fantasy playoffs.

JAX - RB Leonard Fournette practices fully

    Source: Jaguars.com

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette (ankle) was a full participant in practice Wednesday, Dec. 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fournette's ankle seems like it's been an issue since his days at LSU. He's practicing on Wednesday so that's a good sign for his availability in Week 14.

Jacksonville Jaguars WRs Marqise Lee (knee) and Allen Hurns (ankle) did not practice Wednesday, Dec. 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hurns hasn't played since Week 10 against the Chargers. He's week-to-week due to this ankle injury, and if he's not practicing on Wednesday it is not a good sign for his availability in Week 14.

BAL - Limited practice for WR Jeremy Maclin

    Source: BaltimoreRavens.com

Baltimore Ravens WR Jeremy Maclin (back) was limited in practice Wednesday, Dec. 6.

CIN - WR John Ross placed on IR

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Cincinnati Bengals WR John Ross (shoulder) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Wednesday, Dec. 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The speedy rookie had a disappointing rookie year as his first season as a pro was cut short and really hampered by this injury. Ross appeared in only three games, was targeted two times but didn't make a catch....but he did have one rush for 12 yards. He'll have the entire offseason to finally get his shoulder healthy after Ross has surgery later in the week.

Detroit Lions RB Ameer Abdullah (neck) was listed as a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Dec. 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Abdullah missed Week 13 but it seems like he's on track to play this weekend. If he gets out there against the Buccaneers, Abdullah has RB2/flex appeal for fantasy owners in PPR leagues.

New York Jets RB Matt Forte (knee) was not able to practice Wednesday, Dec. 6.

BUF - WR Kelvin Benjamin limited Wednesday

    Source: BuffaloBills.com

Buffalo Bills WR Kelvin Benjamin (knee) was limited in practice Wednesday, Dec. 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Benjamin is day-to-day with this knee injury. If he's limited on Wednesday, that's a good sign for his status in Week 14. The Bills are home against the Colts this week and could be without QB Tyrod Taylor (knee). Having Benjamin out there would greatly benefit rookie QB Nathan Peterman if he starts.

    Source: ESPN.com - Mike Rodak

Buffalo Bills TE Charles Clay (knee) was expected to be limited in practice Wednesday, Dec. 6, but ended up not participating in the session at all.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Clay's knee problem is something he has to deal with most every week. It's a missed Wednesday practice so that could be just a veteran day of rest. Having Clay out there would greatly help rookie QB Nathan Peterman.

CIN - RB Joe Mixon not at practice Wednesday

    Source: ESPN.com - Katherine Terrell

Cincinnati Bengals RB Joe Mixon (concussion) did not participate in the team's walkthrough Wednesday, Dec. 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mixon is going through the concussion protocol right now. We'll see if the rookie can practice and clear the protocol later in the week. Gio Bernard will be a consideration as a RB2 for fantasy owners if Mixon can't go.

WAS - TE Jordan Reed to miss Week 14

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 14 versus the Los Angeles Chargers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Reed hasn't played since a Week 8 game against Dallas. Washington is rolling with Vernon Davis as their top tight end in Week 14 against the Chargers.

NE - WR Chris Hogan makes surprise return

    Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Josh Alper

New England Patriots WR Chris Hogan (shoulder) was spotted at practice Wednesday, Dec. 6 - his first known team activity since suffering a shoulder injury in Week 8.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

As noted, it's been awhile since Hogan was even able to participate. It's not a guarantee that he'll actually play in Week 14 but it's a good sign. There's a chance the Patriots could save Hogan for the playoffs if he's not quite himself at this time.

DET - No practice for QB Matthew Stafford on Wednesday

Source: Detroit Free Press - Dave Birkett

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford (hand) was dressed for practice but did not participate Wednesday, Dec. 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

According to Jim Caldwell, Stafford is 'not out of the woods yet' with this hand injury. Fantasy owners need to have another option ready in case Stafford can't play in Week 14.

NYG - WR Sterling Shepard not practicing Wednesday

    Source: ESPN.com - Dan Graziano

New York Giants WR Sterling Shepard (hamstring) was unable to practice Wednesday, Dec. 6, due to a hamstring injury.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Shepard is getting some rest here but he may practice later in the week. Check back on his status Friday. With QB Eli Manning returning to the starting lineup, Shepard has WR2 or at least flex appeal for fantasy owners in Week 14 if he plays.

IND - WR Donte Moncrief in walking boot

Source: CNHI Sports Indiana - George Bremer

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief (ankle) is wearing a walking boot and listed day-to-day with an ankle injury.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
A walking boot is never a good sign, but in the first week of the fantasy playoffs it's not like many were going to be looking to Moncrief with much confidence. If Moncrief travels with the team to Buffalo for Sunday's game, we couldn't recommend him as anything more than a 'what the heck' flex in Week 14.

ARI - RB Adrian Peterson idle Wednesday

    Source: TitansOnline.com - Jim Wyatt

Arizona Cardinals RB Adrian Peterson (neck) won't practice Wednesday, Dec. 6, according to head coach Bruce Arians.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Teams don't mess around with neck injuries. Peterson will have to be cleared by doctors in order to play in Week 14. If Peterson is down again, we could see Kerwynn Williams as the Cardinals starter once more.

BUF - QB Tyrod Taylor day to day

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Buffalo Bills QB Tyrod Taylor (knee) won't practice Wednesday, Dec. 6, and is considered day to day. Head coach Sean McDermott said they would take into consideration his ability to scramble and execute the game plan in Week 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

He's day-to-day but Taylor is probably on the doubtful side of questionable with this knee injury. We are more than likely going to see rookie Nathan Peterman back in the starting lineup.

ARI - QB Carson Palmer would start in 2018

    Source: ESPN.com - Josh Weinfuss
Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer (arm) will be the team's starting quarterback in 2018 if he decides to play, according to head coach Bruce Arians.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Cardinals could get a top-10 pick in the 2018 NFL draft but they might be targeting offensive line help rather than a rookie quarterback. Palmer's days in the NFL are almost over, so the Cardinals should have a post-Palmer plan in place.

    Friday Update

ARI - RB Adrian Peterson does not practice

    Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban

Arizona Cardinals RB Adrian Peterson (neck) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Peterson doesn't look likely to play this week, so look to Kerwynn Williams this week. Williams was solid against the Rams last week, but faces a tough Tennessee secondary with little support from the pass game. He's no more than a RB5 flier this week whether Peterson plays or not.

PIT - WR Antonio Brown misses practice

    Source: Steelers.com

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown (toe) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We suspect this is just a rest day, and Brown should be a great WR1 against Baltimore this weekend. It's worth keeping an eye on his status, but we think he will practice on Friday and be ready to go on Sunday.

CAR - TE Greg Olsen practices in full

    Source: Panthers.com

Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen (foot) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Great news for Cam Newton and Fantasy GMs with Greg Olsen on their rosters. He faces a tough Vikings defense, but we expect him to produce some solid TE2 numbers with the upside to hit TE1 production.

CiN - RB Joe Mixon remains sidelined

Source: Cox Media Group - Jay Morrison

Cincinnati Bengals RB Joe Mixon (concussion) missed practice again Thursday, Dec. 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If you depend on Mixon in any capacity, hopefully you have a bye week in your fantasy playoffs because it doesn't sound like he's going to make it this week against a ripe Chicago defense. We'll keep an eye on this for you, but it appears like Giovani Bernard will get the nod this week and we expect nice RB2 numbers from him.

NE - QB Tom Brady out of practice again

    Source: NESN.com - Zack Cox

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (Achilles') is out of practice Thursday, Dec. 7. It's the first time this season he has missed back-to-back practices.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Are we panicking? We are not. Barring him missing practice tomorrow, we have him as a top fantasy quarterback this week. If he misses Friday, we will be concerned, bit even then we suspect he will play anyway and produce as he usually does.

SEA - TE Jimmy Graham sidelined again at practice

    Source: Seahawks.com

Seattle Seahawks TE Jimmy Graham (ankle) did not participate in practice for the second day in a row Thursday, Dec. 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Seahawks have been cautious and managed Graham's practices all year and he could even play Sunday without a practice before the game. Seattle is playing in the afternoon, so if Graham is a game-time decision, you'll have a limited set of teams to choose from to pick an injury hedge at tight end.

HOU - WR Braxton Miller sits again

    Source: NFL

Houston Texans WR Braxton Miller (concussion) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If Miller isn't out of concussion protocol by Sunday, Stephen Anderson or Andre Ellington could get some snaps at wide receiver in the slot.

NYJ - WR Jermaine Kearse practices in full again

    Source: NFLMedia.com

New York Jets WR Jermaine Kearse (shoulder) practiced in full for the second consecutive day Thursday, Dec. 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Kearse could be the #1 receiver if Robby Anderson's hamstring keeps him out on Sunday. While it could result in more targets, it could also draw a tougher matchup for him.

DEN - WR Emmanuel Sanders returns to practice

    Source: NFLMedia.com

Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders (ankle) returned to practice and was a full participant Thursday, Dec. 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Sanders is back, but the Broncos offense is a toxic waste dump. They couldn't score a touchdown against the Dolphins last week even though the Dolphins had been one of the worst defenses in the league coming into Week 13. Sanders is just emergency depth.

OAK - WR Cordarrelle Patterson limited Thursday

    Source: Raiders.com

Oakland Raiders WR Cordarrelle Patterson (hip) was limited during practice Thursday, Dec. 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We would like to see Patterson get in a full practice to have more sleeper appeal, but with Amari Cooper looking unlikely to play, Patterson should start against a Chiefs defense that is vulnerable to the pass and big plays. Patterson has almost broken a long touchdown in each of the last two weeks and could come through in what looks to be another shootout like the 31-30 matchup between these two teams earlier this year.

IND - WR Donte Moncrief sits out

    Source: Colts.com

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief (ankle) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Chester Rogers could start this weekend in an audition for a starting job that would be opened up if the Colts don't retain Moncrief in free agency.

LAC - WR Mike Williams limited again

    Source: Chargers.com

Los Angeles Chargers WR Mike Williams (knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Dec. 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Right now we aren't expecting Williams to play, and think the Chargers will be careful with their rookie. So even though the matchup against Washington is tasty, Fantasy GMs with Williams in their lineup will have to look elsewhere.

BAL - WR Jeremy Maclin does not practice

    Source: BaltimoreRavens.com

Baltimore Ravens WR Jeremy Maclin (back) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Maclin isn't really worth rostering these days. On a team of generally unimpressive receivers, Maclin is notable for just how unimpressive he has been.

NE - WR Chris Hogan listed as limited

    Source: Patriots.com

New England Patriots WR Chris Hogan (shoulder) was limited during practice Thursday, Dec. 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If Hogan plays, he should be a solid WR3 this week against Miami. He hasn't played since Week 8 though, and so could have some rust to knock off.

MIA - RB Damien Williams misses practice

    Source: Patriots.com

Miami Dolphins RB Damien Williams (shoulder) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Even if he was healthy, Williams has been supplanted by Kenyan Drake. Drake faces a tough task, not so much because the Patriots are a great run defending team, as it is because New England plays from ahead a lot and so the Dolphins may have to throw the ball a ton, limiting Drake's potential. Drake is a great RB3 with RB2 upside.

ARI - RB Kerwynn Williams practices

    Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban

Arizona Cardinals RB Kerwynn Williams (ribs) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Williams will get the start if Adrian Peterson is out, but the Titans defense is solid, while the Cardinals have no passing game to pull defenders out of the box. That makes Williams no more than a RB5 flier this week.

ARI - WR John Brown listed as limited

    Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban

Arizona Cardinals WR John Brown (toe) was limited during practice Thursday, Dec. 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We're not expecting Brown to play, and if he does, we'd expect his impact to be very minimal. We wouldn't really bother having him on a roster, much less in a lineup this week.

TB - RB Doug Martin also a full participant

    Source: DetroitLions.com

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Doug Martin (concussion) has cleared the concussion protocol and fully practiced Thursday, Dec. 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We're not sure what to expect from Martin this week, and will continue to monitor him on Friday. Peyton Barber looked much better than Martin has at any time this year, so we think Martin will still take a back seat to him, holding his production down enough to where we wouldn't risk him in our starting lineup.

DET - RB Ameer Abdullah also limited

Source: Detroit Free Press - Dave Birkett

Detroit Lions RB Ameer Abdullah (neck) was limited in practice Thursday, Dec. 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We're not confident Abdullah will be greenlit this weekend against Tampa Bay, which would make Theo Riddick the chief back, although he will split some carries with Tion Green. Riddick should serve as a decent RB3 with some upside depending on Matt Stafford's ability to throw with his injured hand.

DET - QB Matthew Stafford limited

Source: Detroit Free Press - Dave Birkett

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford (hand) was a limited participant in practice Thursday, Dec. 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Stafford has us nervous this weekend. Tampa Bay doesn't exactly field a top-shelf defense, but Stafford has reportedly had issues holding the ball, forget throwing it. We need to see a little more Friday to feel comfortable with him as more than a low-end QB2 this week.

BUF - TE Charles Clay practices in full

    Source: BuffaloBills.com

Buffalo Bills TE Charles Clay (knee) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Given the state of the passing offense, we aren't too enthusiastic about Clay whether Tyrod Taylor plays or not. He's struggled during the last month and we aren't expecting an improvement this week against the Colts. He's a desperation play and no more.

BUF - WR Kelvin Benjamin takes part in practice

    Source: BuffaloBills.com

Buffalo Bills WR Kelvin Benjamin (knee) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The passing offense in Buffalo is not good, and Benjamin isn't helping things. We don't expect much from him, especially as Zay Jones has played well lately, so unless you only need WR6 numbers this week, we would avoid Benjamin.

NYJ - WR Robby Anderson should be fine

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Updating a previous report, New York Jets WR Robby Anderson (hamstring) should be OK to play this week despite aggravating a hamstring injury in practice Thursday, Dec. 7, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That's good news for a Jets team which is desperately holding on to playoff hopes. His injury could hamper him though, so expect WR3/WR4 numbers this week against Denver.

CAR - Full practice for RB Christian McCaffrey

    Source: Panthers.com

Carolina Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey (shoulder) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

McCaffery's injury and the stout Minnesota defense means his value takes a hit this week. He won't get a ton of carries, but his receptions will buoy his value. Use him as a borderline RB2/RB3 and you should be pleased with the result.

TEN - WR Rishard Matthews takes part in practice

    Source: TitansOnline.com - Jim Wyatt

Tennessee Titans WR Rishard Matthews (hamstring) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Absent since his huge Week 11, Matthews should be raring to go, which should help Marcus Mariota get out of the funk he's been in for two weeks. That said, Mariota's recent struggles throwing the ball will limit Matthews a little, especially in a game with a good Cardinals secondary. We consider Matthews a solid WR4 this week.

OAK - No practice for WR Amari Cooper

Source: Las Vegas Review-Journal - Michael Gehlken

Oakland Raiders WR Amari Cooper (ankle) did not practice Thursday, Dec. 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Right now it looks like Cooper isn't playing, which is a hit to this offense. This looks like two weeks in a row where you'll be without his services and while he has scored touchdowns two weeks in a row, his production has largely been disappointing for Fantasy GMs this year.

    Saturday Update

NE - QB Tom Brady limited Friday

    Source: Patriots.com

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (Achilles) was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 8.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
A full practice tomorrow would make us feel better, but there's still no way you bench Brady going against the Dolphins defense that he hung four touchdown passes on two weeks ago.

OAK - WR Amari Cooper questionable for Week 14

    Source: Raiders.com

Oakland Raiders WR Amari Cooper (ankle) was able to practice on a limited basis Friday, Dec. 8, and he is listed as questionable for Week 14 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cooper is playing an early game, so you won't have to agonize over this one. If he goes, he has a massive ceiling considering his 11-210-2 line in the first matchup. If he is active, he will be tough to bench.

PIT - WR Antonio Brown on track to play

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown (toe) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 8, and is not on the injury report for Week 14.

Unlike last week, there is no reason to have anything but 100% percent confidence in Brown.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Funchess is expected to play, but he'll face Xavier Rhodes, one of the best cornerbacks in the league.

Seattle Seahawks TE Jimmy Graham (ankle) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 8, and is not on the injury report for Week 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Graham is no worry after missing the first two practices this week. The Seahawks are just managing his physical condition as we get deeper into the season.

Ertz was reportedly out of the concussion protocol earlier this week, but it appears that was premature. Check back on Sunday morning to find out his status for the Sunday afternoon start and roster a backup tight end just in case.

LAR - WR Robert Woods listed as questionable

    Source: TheRams.com

Los Angeles Rams WR Robert Woods (shoulder) was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 8, and is listed as questionable for Week 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Woods has a theoretical chance to play because of his listing, but next week against Seattle seems like a much more likely return date for Woods.

HOU - WR Will Fuller not on injury report

    Source: HoustonTexans.com

Houston Texans WR Will Fuller (ribs) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 8, and is not on the injury report for Week 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Fuller is back this week, but he's only a big play desperation WR3/Flex option because Tom Savage isn't nearly as effective with the deep ball as Deshaun Watson.

Houston Texans WR Braxton Miller (concussion) did not participate in practice Friday, Dec. 8, and has been ruled out for Week 14.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Andre Ellington and Stephen Anderson are both options to play in the slot with Miller and Bruce Ellington out this week. Anderson becomes a TE1 with this added role and Andre Ellington a PPR running back desperation play.

DET - RB Ameer Abdullah listed as questionable

    Source: DetroitLions.com

Detroit Lions RB Ameer Abdullah (neck) worked on a limited basis in practice Friday, Dec. 8, and he is listed as questionable for Week 14 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Abdullah looks more likely to play than not, rendering the weak Lions backfield full of even weaker plays because the workload will be split one more way this week.

NE - RB Dion Lewis misses practice

    Source: Patriots.com

New England Patriots RB Dion Lewis (illness) did not participate in practice Friday, Dec. 8.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

    Source: Patriots.com

New England Patriots WR Chris Hogan (shoulder) was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 8.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hogan may not get in a full practice before Monday night, but if he's active, he's a good upside WR3/Flex. You could carry Danny Amendola or Kenny Stills as a hedge if they are not owned.

OAK - WR Cordarrelle Patterson limited in practice

    Source: Raiders.com

Oakland Raiders WR Cordarrelle Patterson (hip) took part in practice on a limited basis Friday, Dec. 8, and he is listed as questionable for the Week 14 game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Patterson would be the replacement for Amari Cooper if he can't go, although he might not be much healthier than Cooper right now.

Baltimore Ravens WR Jeremy Maclin (back) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 8, but is listed as questionable for Week 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Maclin is a hail mary play against a Steelers defense that has been giving up long passing touchdowns at an alarming rate over the last four weeks.

New York Giants WR Sterling Shepard (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Week 14 against the Dallas Cowboys.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Shepard has been adequate to very good in PPR leagues as the #1 receiver for the Giants, and he has a good matchup against the Cowboys, but the hamstring issue adds a lot of risk to playing him as your WR3/Flex.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Doug Martin (concussion) is expected to rejoin the starting lineup in Week 14, according to the Tampa Bay Times' Rick Stroud.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Peyton Barber had the best game of any Bucs running back this year, but apparently it wasn't enough to win the starting job. He's still a priority dynasty add and perhaps even someone to hold in redraft to see if he can get the job before the end of the season.

TEN - TE Delanie Walker to play in Week 14

    Source: ESPN.com - Cameron Wolfe

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (ankle) is expected to play in Week 14 against the Arizona Cardinals.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Walker is too good to bench in a very weak week at tight end. It doesn't sound like you'll need to carry an injury hedge, which is a limited group because the Cardinals and Titans are playing a late afternoon start this week.

TEN - Rishard Mathews good to go

    Source: ESPN.com - Cameron Wolfe

Tennessee Titans WR Rishard Matthews (hamstring) is expected to play in Week 14 against the Arizona Cardinals.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Matthews will likely see a lot of Patrick Peterson in this one, and Marcus Mariota's play hasn't been confidence-building in fantasy leagues. Matthews is a low ceiling WR3/Flex at best this week.

CAR - TE Greg Olsen listed as questionable

Source: The Charlotte Observer - Joseph Person

Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen (foot) is listed as questionable for Week 14 against the Minnesota Vikings.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Olsen could get a lot of targets if Xavier Rhodes blots out Devin Funchess, but the athletic and smart Vikings linebackers will likely limit his gains. As long as Olsen is active, he should be a worthy PPR play in a rough week at tight end.

    Sunday Morning Injury Updates

    QUARTERBACK

Matthew Stafford | Hand | questionable | Expected to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - Limited | Thurs - Limited | Fri - Limited

Although Stafford plays through pain routinely, there was concern on Wednesday that his throwing hand was too bruised and swollen to handle quarterback duties. Stafford returned to practice on Thursday and Friday and observers noted no limitations as he threw. The Lions list him questionable -- as they often do when they see players as probable to play -- but there's no doubt Stafford will play. While there's some risk of an in-game aggravation should Stafford get hit, contact a helmet, or get stepped on again, he can be expected to perform well. His matchup also looks favorable. The Tampa Bay secondary will be without Vernon Hargreaves, T.J. Ward, and Josh Robinson.

    Tyrod Taylor
    | Knee | Questionable | Backup if Active

Practice Participation: Wed - DNP | Thurs - Limited | Fri - Limited

The Bills offered no clarity on Taylor's status after Friday's limited practice. He's considered a game-time decision but Sean McDermott told reporters it was possible Taylor would be active but not ready to start. Taylor suffered a bruise on his left patellar tendon on the first play of last week's game and fought through multiple additional hits to the area before finally calling it a day in the fourth quarter. And that's the rub again this week. This isn't a structural concern and there's little risk of catastrophic injury. However, despite a relatively anemic Indianapolis pass rush, it's impossible to expect Taylor to avoid taking any hits on the front of his plant leg. If Taylor plays, it's likely his mobility will be limited and it's possible he'll be unable to finish.

***Sunday AM Update: Though Taylor hasn't been ruled out, Adam Schefter reports Buffalo plans to start Peterman.

    Others of note: Tom Brady
(Achilles), Cam Newton (shoulder), Dak Prescott (hand), Jameis Winston (ankle), and Blake Bortles (wrist) have practiced, are not listed on the game status report, and are expected to play without limitation. Paxton Lynch (ankle) has been declared out. I'll update return to play expectations on all inactive players in Monday's column.

    RUNNING BACK

*Dion Lewis | Illness | Questionable | Expected to Play

Practice Participation: Thurs - Not Listed | Fri - DNP | Sat - Limited

Lewis returned to a limited Saturday practice and was -- as per the Patriot Way -- listed questionable on the game status report. Beat writer Doug Kyed reported Lewis is expected to play Monday night after a source told him Lewis was "100 percent." I'll update with any news of note through Sunday morning.

    Ameer Abdullah
    | Neck | Questionable | Unlikely to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - Limited | Thurs - Limited | Fri - Limited

I use a long list of resources to write this column each week. There are a handful of teams that are under-reported and difficult to find actionable information about each week. The Lions do not fall into the first category but they definitely fall into the second. A Twitter keyword search for all things Ameer Abdullah returned absolutely nothing this week. Not even a generic "listed as questionable" -- literally no mention of him at all. Last week, Abdullah told reporters his status was up to Jim Caldwell and the medical staff, essentially hinting he was going to be inactive. After a week of limited practice, I think there's a chance he plays this week. But neck injuries are tricky. He must show enough strength and range of motion to protect himself in a contact situation. Regardless of Abdullah's health, the Lions have made it clear they plan to lean more heavily on Theo Riddick now.

***Sunday AM Update: Ian Rapoport is reporting Abdullah is unlikely to play, though "it's more for play than injury reasons."

    Matt Forte
    | Knee | Questionable | Likely to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - DNP | Thurs - Limited | Fri - DNP

Forte continues to play with a degenerative knee condition that swells and limits him intermittently. He's managed 29 and 35 snaps since taking three weeks off to rest his knee and felt good enough to get 18 touches last week. He continues to see 40-50% of the team's offensive snaps. The Friday DNP is a slightly different line than usual but the team's beat writers expect him to play. 12-15 touches remains a reasonable expectation.

    Orleans Darkwa
    | Illness | Questionable | Likely to play

Practice Participation: Wed - Not Listed | Thurs - DNP | Fri - Limited

Darkwa returned to a limited practice on Friday after missing practice on Thursday with an illness. The Giants did not update his condition on Friday. Though listed questionable, I think he's more probable than doubtful.

    Others of note: Leonard Fournette
(ankle), LeSean McCoy (knee), Christian McCaffrey (shoulder), Jonathan Stewart (foot), Bilal Powell (hamstring), Doug Martin (concussion), Kerwynn Williams (ribs), Travaris Cadet (concussion), Wayne Gallman (hip), and Mike Tolbert (hamstring) have practiced, are not listed on the game status report, and are expected to play without limitation. Joe Mixon (concussion), Adrian Peterson (neck), Alfred Blue (concussion), and Damien Williams (shoulder) have been declared out. I'll update return to play expectations on all inactive players in Monday's column.

    WIDE RECEIVER

Antonio Brown | Toe | Not Listed | Expected to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - Not Listed | Thurs - DNP | Fri - Full

Brown was limited in practice with a toe injury last week, looked hobbled during warmups at times on Monday night, then had 101 receiving yards on 15 targets. The Steelers gave Brown Thursday off this week but he took every other practice repetition. Brown's usual ceiling expectation is in play again this week.

    Robert Woods
    | Shoulder | Questionable | LIkely Inactive

Practice Participation: Wed - DNP | Thurs - DNP | Fri - Limited

On Wednesday, Woods started his third consecutive week without practicing and Sean McVay told reporters there was no timetable for Woods' return. Woods again missed practice on Thursday before being cleared for individual drills on Friday. Though listed questionable, I don't expect to see Woods active. He hasn't yet been cleared for contact and there's little upside in risking an aggravation this week.

***Sunday AM Update: Both Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport tweeted Woods will not play but is expected back next week.

    Sterling Shepard
    | Hamstring | Questionable | Expected to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - DNP | Thurs - Limited | Fri - Limited

Shepard missed practice on Wednesday but returned to consecutive practices at the end of the week. He said he felt good after going full speed in Thursday's individual drills and the followup Friday workout is reassuring. Hamstring injuries always carry a risk of aggravation for receivers but Shepard has missed minimal time since the injury last week and is likely to see his usual workload. Watch for any unexpected weekend reports of concern.

***Sunday AM Update: There's a line buried in the middle of an overnight NFL.com article stating Shepard was unlikely to play. It was picked up by Rotoworld this morning and caused a stir on Twitter. I've seen no reports from beat writers of concern and Shepard's midweek comments remain reassuring. There were no overnight reports on Shepard from Ian Rapoport or Adam Schefter. It's something to track but I think it's reasonable to expect Shepard active until a more definitive report.

*Chris Hogan | Shoulder | Pending | Likely to Play

Practice Participation: Thurs - Limited | Friday - Limited | Sat - Pending

Hogan stopped short of guaranteeing his return on Thursday after his first practice in a month. But you could see he was excited to be back and his practice on Friday strongly suggests the Patriots are hopeful he'll be a part of Monday night's game plan. Like Golden Tate and Jameis Winston and many others with shoulder injuries this year, the Patriots held Hogan out until he was ready for contact to limit any risk of aggravation. Hogan's shoulder injury shouldn't have limited his conditioning and if he's cleared for contact he should be ready for his pre-injury workload.

    Robby Anderson
    | Hamstring | Not Listed | Expected to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - Full | Thurs - Limited | Fri - Full

The reports on Anderson after Thursday's limited practice were odd. Some reports said he left practice and looked unlikely to play this week. Others said the injury was new -- after he'd already been listed on Wednesday report with a hamstring concern. Admittedly, it's possible Thursday's injury could have been different and compensatory and Anderson's demeanor might have suggested a significant strain. But Anderson was back to a full practice on Friday and is not listed on the game status report. Expect another full workload.

    Rishard Matthews
    | Hamstring | Not Listed | Expected to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - Limited | Thurs - Full | Fri - Full

Matthews was not quite ready to return last week. The Titans' decision to rest Matthews last Sunday looks to have paid off. Matthews did more on Wednesday this week and was then cleared to return to a full practice on Thursday. He's not listed on the game status report. An in-game aggravation cannot be ruled out, but Matthews has now had over a week of workouts and the risk is much less this week than last. He'll likely face off against Patrick Peterson, who missed time this week with a hamstring strain of his own.

    Kelvin Benjamin
    | Knee | Not Listed | Expected to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - Limited | Thurs - Full | Fri - Full

After twisting his knee on the fourth snap of the game in Week 11, Benjamin needed two weeks of rest to calm down inflammation and pain from what's been reported as a meniscus tear. While he's likely to need offseason surgery, Benjamin returned to full practices this week and is going to play. Conditioning and aggravation are concerns -- as is the potential for Nathan Peterman returning to the huddle as the starting quarterback.

    Devin Funchess
    | Shoulder | Questionable | Likely to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - Full | Thurs - Full | Fri - DNP

It's rare to see a player not practice on Friday after two mid-week full practices. The questionable tag is not helpful in Carolina. The Panthers routinely list players questionable if they've been on the injury report during the week. The tone of the local reports suggests Funchess will play through his sore shoulder, as he has through toe and other soft tissue injuries this year. I'll update with any weekend news.

***Sunday AM Update: Funchess is expected to play.

    Jeremy Maclin
    | Back | Questionable | Expected to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - Limited | Thurs - DNP | Fri - Full

Maclin fully practiced on Friday and is expected to play. However, the back injury has flared up on him multiple times this year and he's continued to take painful hits to the area recently. Despite the full Friday practice, we've seen Maclin inactive unexpectedly on Sunday morning. Watch pregame reports and don't assume he's playing without confirmation he's active.

    Amari Cooper
    | Ankle | Questionable | Limited if Active

Practice Participation: Wed - DNP | Thurs - DNP | Fri - Limited

ESPN's Dan Graziano reported the Oakland coaching staff met on Friday assuming Cooper would be inactive after showing slow improvement in rehab sessions. But Cooper talked the medical staff into allowing him to participate in individual drills. The coaches felt Cooper looked good enough to list him questionable. Asked about Cooper's availability after practice, Jack Del Rio told reporters he had "some thoughts on it but I don't need to share them" with the Chiefs. While the Raiders have left Cooper's status open, I think it's very unlikely we'll see them play Cooper. He's clearly not fully recovered, at risk of an aggravation, and was not considered in the offensive game plan at any point this week. If Cooper is active, he's unlikely to see a full snap count or be highly targeted.

***Sunday AM Update: According to Ian Rapoport, Cooper "impressed the team with how quickly he improved late in the week" and a source gives Cooper a "good chance" to play. Even if he's comfortable in pre-game warmups, it's tough to project Cooper for a full complement of productive snaps with only one surprise limited practice in two weeks.

    Emmanuel Sanders
    | Ankle | Questionable | Expected to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - DNP | Thurs - Full | Fri - Limited

Sanders is not healthy. Though he's managed a full practice this week, the Broncos continue to limit his reps during the week. Sanders has seen his snap count drop from 90% and 96% in his first two full games back to 88% and 85% over the past two weeks. Vance Joseph told reporters he expects Sanders to play but recognizes his receiver is still sore.

    Cordarrelle Patterson
    | Hip | Questionable | Expected to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - DNP | Thurs - Limited | Fri - Limited

Patterson has played through hip soreness for multiple weeks. Though limited in practice, the Raiders expect him to play again this week. He'll face a Kansas City secondary without Marcus Peters.

    Mike Williams
    | Knee | Questionable | Game-time Decision

Practice Participation: Wed - Limited | Thurs - Limited | Fri - Full

Williams returned to a full practice on Friday but the Chargers were not ready to commit him to the active roster on Friday after practice. Anthony Lynn told reporters the team wanted to be certain Williams responded to Friday's practice without difficulty. Barring an unexpected issue on Saturday, Williams is primed to return to a limited role.

Sunday AM Update: Williams is expected to play.

    Others of note:
Marqise Lee (knee), Jermaine Kearse (shoulder), Will Fuller (ribs), and Josh
    Bellamy
(illness) have practiced, are not listed on the game status report, and are expected to play without limitation. Robert Woods (shoulder), Allen Hurns (ankle), John Brown (toe), and Maurice Harris (concussion) have been declared out. I'll update return to play expectations on all inactive players in Monday's column.

    TIGHT END

Zach Ertz | Concussion | Questionable | Awaiting Information

Practice Participation: Wed - DNP | Thurs - Limited | Fri - Limited

The Philadelphia media expected Ertz to be cleared on Friday after his return to individual workouts on Thursday. Ertz remained limited on Friday, however, and the team listed him questionable. That's not necessarily an indication Ertz won't be cleared to play. The return-to-play protocol is managed by the team. Though most players return to a full practice, a player does not necessarily have to be cleared for contact by the team before heading to an independent neurologist for full clearance. The Eagles may always have planned to wait until after Friday's practice to send Ertz to the independent neurologist. Though the Eagles are in Los Angeles already -- they never returned home after last week's west coast game -- it's possible they arranged for a late Friday or Saturday evaluation. We'll know Ertz's status in advance of game time and I'll update here.

***Sunday AM Update: The news on Ertz is not reassuring this morning. Adam Schefter reported the Eagles "still want to look" at Ertz on Sunday morning. Ian Rapoport says Ertz's status "may hinge on how he feels this morning." It would be very unusual for a team to send a player for clearance by the independent neurologist without feeling he's ready to play. The Schefter and Rapoport tweets strongly suggest Ertz hasn't had the independent examination. If that's accurate, Ertz will not play today. Schefter and Rapoport reported Ertz as doubtful and a longshot. I'm not sure why they're leaving the door open, but I'll update with any surprising positive news.

    Greg Olsen
    | Foot | Questionable | Expected to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - Full | Thurs - Full | Fri - Full

Olsen fully practiced this week after being reassured by Dr. Robert Anderson that the soreness he experienced in his first game back was not structural or concerning. Two weeks ago, the Panthers planned to limit Olsen to certain offensive packages. While the Panthers have remained cautious, Olsen has said: "It's now or just kind of forget it for the year." And there have been no local reports about limiting Olsen's snaps this week. While Olsen may be limited, I think it'll be up to him. If he's feeling good early and conditioning is a non-factor, we may see him closer to 80% of the Panthers' offensive snaps than 50%.

    Delanie Walker
    | Ankle | Not Listed | Expected to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - DNP | Thurs - DNP | Fri - Full

Walker left last week's game with a high ankle sprain. The mechanism looked minor and despite resting until Friday, Walker is not listed on the game status report and ready to play. There's a slight risk of aggravation but Walker can be expected to see his usual workload.

    Others of note
: Jimmy Graham (ankle), Charles Clay (knee), David Njoku (wrist), and Vance McDonald (ankle) have practiced, are not listed on the game status report, and are expected to play without limitation. Jordan Reed (hamstring) has been declared out. I'll update return to play expectations on all inactive players in Monday's column.

    Defensive Player Notes

***As of Saturday night, both Patrick Peterson and Jalen Ramsey are expected to play.

***The Bengals will be without at least five defensive starters. Cornerbacks Adam Jones and Dre Kirkpatrick, safety Shawn Williams, and linebackers Vontaze Burfict and Nick Vigil are all out this week. And, though the Bengals list him questionable, Geno Atkins was in a boot Thursday after practice and looks unlikely to play. If Darqueze Dennard sits with a knee injury, Cincinnati could be without seven important defensive pieces.

***Alec Ogletree is expected to play through a painful elbow injury but watch his pregame status carefully. There's still a chance the Rams hold him out.

***Telvin Smith had fully practiced after missing last week's game with a concussion. But he was listed DNP and Friday and is now questionable. The Jaguars sometimes list players fully expected to play as questionable but this looks like an ominous downgrade rather than an end-of-the-week precaution.

***Those who spoke with Trey Flowers in the locker room see similarities in his practice participation and media comments to last week when he didn't play. If he's active, it'll be in a rotational role.

***Deone Bucannon returned to full practices and isn't listed on the game status report. The Cardinals hinted they'd ease Bucannon in slowly but his practice participation suggests they may give him a bigger workload than anticipated.

***The Chiefs move Dee Ford to injured reserve. Tamba Hali could play this week but his status should be considered snap-to-snap.

    Sunday Update

NE - QB Tom Brady off injury report

    Source: ESPNBoston.com - Mike Reiss

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (Achilles') fully participated in practice Saturday, Dec. 9, and has been removed from the team's Week 14 injury report.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This injury can be managed, but it was curious to see Brady miss two days of practice this week. The team plays on Monday night, so a little bit more rest was likely to help the veteran QB. After a down week last time out, Brady still has QB1 written all over him in Week 14.

BUF - QB Nathan Peterman the likely starter

Source: Democrat and Chronicle - Sal Maiorana

Buffalo Bills QB Nathan Peterman received all the first-team reps in practice this week, and Sal Maiorana of the Democrat and Chronicle said it would be 'utterly shocking' if Peterman wasn't the starter against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bills coach Sean McDermott said Tyrod Taylor (knee) will be a game-time decision for Sunday's game against the Colts. We'd consider Taylor a streaming option if he was healthy, but it looks like Peterman is going to get the nod instead. Let's just hope for Bills fans sake the rookie doesn't throw five interceptions again.

OAK - Oakland hoping WR Amari Cooper plays

    Source: ESPN.com - Dan Graziano

Oakland Raiders WR Amari Cooper (ankle) looked pretty good during a limited practice appearance Friday, Dec. 8, according to coaches, and the Raiders are holding out hope that Cooper can play against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cooper was limited in practice on Friday and we could see him as a game-time decision for Sunday's game against the Chiefs. Last time he faced Kansas City, Cooper went off for over 200 yards receiving. At less than 100 percent, Cooper is a risky boom/bust play for fantasy owners...if he plays in Week 14.

DEN - Coach expects WR Emmanuel Sanders to play

    Source: ESPN.com - Jeff Legwold

Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders (ankle) is expected to play in Week 14 even though he is listed as questionable, according to head coach Vance Joseph.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Broncos offense hasn't looked good in some time, and it is going to be difficult to trust any skill position player in Week 14. We consider Sanders a WR4 for Sunday's game against the Jets. Joseph said Sanders has been dealing with a sore ankle for a few weeks.

IND - WR Chester Rogers to see more work?

    Source: Colts.com - Andrew Walker

Indianapolis Colts WR Chester Rogers could see increased snaps against the Buffalo Bills in Week 14 with WR Donte Moncrief (ankle) ruled out, according to Andrew Walker of Colts.com.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

In Week 10, Rogers had six catches for 104 yards and a touchdown against the Steelers. The former Grambling State receiver has seven catches over the last two weeks and has the speed to be a threat to score anytime he touches the ball. Rogers is a WR6 for fantasy owners, but he's a classic 'what the heck' flex/sleeper in Week 14 with potentially a larger opportunity.

NE - WR Danny Amendola to pick up slack in Week 14?

Source: Boston Herald - Jeff Howe

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola could pick up the slack with TE Rob Gronkowski suspended for the Week 14 game against the Miami Dolphins, according to Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

When Gronkowski was sidelined in Week 5, Amendola finished with eight catches for 77 yards on a season-high 55 snaps. Amendola could be a WR with upside for fantasy owners this Monday night against the Dolphins. We should see the return of WR Chris Hogan this week, and that could negatively impact the number of targets Amendola could potentially see.

ARI - No timetable for RB Adrian Peterson

    Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban

Arizona Cardinals RB Adrian Peterson (neck) has already been ruled out for Week 14, and head coach Bruce Arians said there is no timetable for Peterson's return.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Neck injuries are nothing to mess around with. The team needs to take it easy on Peterson so the injury is not further aggravated. With Peterson already out for Week 14, Kerwynn Williams gets another start for the Cardinals. We like him as a RB3 against the Titans on Sunday.

SEA - RB Chris Carson suffers setback

    Source: Seahawks.com - John Boyle
Seattle Seahawks RB Chris Carson (ankle, leg) has suffered a setback in his recovery, according to head coach Pete Carroll.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
There was a chance that Carson was going to be activated late in the regular season. This setback puts that thought in doubt, although the rookie RB could return for the postseason provided things stay on track from here on out.

Amazing thing is he stayed in the game and threw a TD a few plays AFTER the injury occurred.

    Monday Update

PHI - QB Carson Wentz might have torn ACL

    Source: The Associated Press

Updating a previous report, Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (knee) might have a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, sources said Sunday, Dec. 10. He will have an MRI to confirm the injury on Monday, Dec. 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Usually when this is the report, the injury ends up being a torn ACL. If Wentz is out, Nick Foles will take over as the team regroups.

DAL - QB Dak Prescott tosses three TDs

    Source: The Associated Press

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott completed 20 of his 30 pass attempts for a season-high 332 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in the Week 14 game against the New York Giants.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Prescott was aided by a long garbage time score, but he was also let down by drops in the first half. He's back in our circle of trust for Week 15 against Oakland.

GB - WR Jordy Nelson struggles again

    Source: The Associated Press

Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson posted four receptions for just 33 yards on five targets in Week 14 against the Cleveland Browns.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Never fear, Aaron Rodgers could return next week and make Nelson playable again.

GB - QB Brett Hundley tosses three TDs in win

    Source: The Associated Press

Green Bay Packers QB Brett Hundley completed 35 of his 46 pass attempts for 265 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in the Week 14 game against the Cleveland Browns. He also ran 31 yards on seven attempts.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hundley has made strides after a slow start as the passer for the Packers. He has added to his resume for trade value this offseason or free agency in 2019. He should at least compete to start somewhere down the line, but for this year it's probably over as long as Aaron Rodgers is medically cleared.

CLE - QB DeShone Kizer comes up just short

    Source: The Associated Press

Cleveland Browns QB DeShone Kizer completed 20 of his 28 pass attempts for 214 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions in the Week 14 game against the Green Bay Packers and he ran twice for seven yards but he was unable to secure his first NFL win.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Kizer benefited from a nice play in the end zone by Josh Gordon, but he has definitely shown improvement in the second half of the year. The Browns will likely draft a quarterback high next year, but Kizer can still be a starter in the NFL, even if it's not until he gets to his second team.

CIN - RB Giovani Bernard fills in with 130 total yards

    Source: The Associated Press

Cincinnati Bengals RB Giovani Bernard rushed 11 times for 62 yards in Week 14 against the Chicago Bears and he added six receptions for 68 yards on eight targets.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bernard had a strong fantasy game even though the Bengals offense was stuck in neutral for most of the afternoon. If Joe Mixon is back against the Vikings next week, he's droppable, but if Mixon is still in concussion protocol, he could have PPR flex appeal.

CHI - WR Kendall Wright hits century mark

    Source: The Associated Press

Chicago Bears WR Kendall Wright posted season highs with 10 receptions, 107 yards and 11 targets in Week 14 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Wright took his turn as the #1 receiver this week and made Dontrelle Inman irrelevant. He's a free agent next year, but if Wright can continue to develop chemistry with Trubisky maybe the team will bring him back.

CHI - RB Jordan Howard goes off in Cincinnati

    Source: The Associated Press

Chicago Bears RB Jordan Howard rushed 23 times for 147 yards and two touchdowns in Week 14 against the Cincinnati Bengals and he added an eight-yard reception.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Howard scored early and was able to get in a groove because the Bears controlled this game from start to finish. He should be in fantasy semifinals lineups against the Lions next week.

IND - RB Frank Gore plays well in Week 14

    Source: NFL.com

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore rushed for 130 yards on 36 carries against the Buffalo Bills in Week 14. He also caught one pass for 10 yards during the game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gore was the offense in the snow at Buffalo. If you were able to anticipate this after seeing pre-game pictures from Western New York then you deserve it, but don't go back to him against Denver next week.

CAR - TE Greg Olsen nearly invisible

    Source: The Associated Press

Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen (foot) returned in Week 14 against the Minnesota Vikings, but he went without a catch and he was targeted just once.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Olsen had to leave to have his foot taped and didn't look like himself. He's not trustworthy to play like the player we expected him to be this year, but if you're hurting at tight end, we can hold him on the bench against the Packers next week to see if he might have use for Week 16.

NYG - RB Wayne Gallman posts 99 total yards

    Source: NFL.com

New York Giants RB Wayne Gallman rushed for 59 yards on 12 carries against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 14. He also caught seven passes for 40 yards during the game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

One has to wonder if Gallman has moved ahead of Orleans Darkwa going into the game against the Eagles next week. Gallman should be poised to be part of a committee backfield next year with whoever the new regime brings in to play running back next year. Gallman should be owned in dynasty leagues.

DAL - RB Rod Smith big part of passing game

    Source: NFL.com

Dallas Cowboys RB Rod Smith caught five passes for 113 yards and one touchdown against the New York Giants in Week 14. He also rushed for 47 yards and one touchdown on six carries during the game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

All of Smith's meaningful production came in garbage time, but it counts just the same if you plugged him in as a desperation play. He'll get a second look as one next week against the Raiders.

GB - QB Aaron Rodgers to undergo CT scan

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (shoulder) will undergo a CT scan this week to determine if he will be medically cleared to resume playing.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If Rodgers can play next week against the Panthers, he should be in our lineups.

NE - WR Chris Hogan traveling with team

Source: Boston Herald - Jeff Howe

New England Patriots WR Chris Hogan (shoulder) is traveling with the team for their Week 14 game against the Miami Dolphins, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

At this point there's little reason to think Hogan won't play. He had a 8-74-1 line the last time Rob Gronkowski was out.

I'd say watch out for the Saints. Brees having a year like Curt Warner did with the AZ Cards
