NFL Player News - Week 3

TEN - RB DeMarco Murray day-to-day

    Source: TitansOnline.com - Jim Wyatt
Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) is considered day-to-day because of his hamstring injury, according to head coach Mike Mularkey.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Murray was slowed by a hamstring injury during the preseason. He'll need to be monitored closely so this injury doesn't get worse. In the meantime, fantasy owners who have Derrick Henry can prepare to start him while Murray is limited (or out). This week at home against the Seahawks, Henry could lead the way. After two games in 2017, Seattle has allowed an average of 121.5 rushing yards per game.

NE - TE Rob Gronkowski day-to-day

    Source: ESPNBoston.com - Mike Reiss

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (groin) said he is feeling good and considers himself day-to-day.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gronkowski was banged up against the Saints but he had a big day for fantasy owners in Week 2. We'll likely see him limited in practice this week. Check back on Friday at the latest to get an idea of whether or not Gronkowski is going to give it a go in Week 3 against the Texans.

MIN - QB Sam Bradford dealing with bruise?

Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) is believed to have a bone bruise in his injured knee, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bradford will have to deal with swelling and pain in his knee after taking a big hit in the season opener. He will be given an injection after which the Vikings will assess how the knee responds and go from there.

DAL - RB Ezekiel Elliott stay request denied

Source: USA TODAY Sports - A.J. Perez

Updating an ongoing story, Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott's suspension remains on hold after the NFL's request for a stay in the case was denied Monday, Sept. 18.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

With this stay request denied, Elliott looks like he could be able to play the entire 2017 season. His punishment may come at a later date, but for now fantasy owners should continue to start Elliott every week...even after a horrible performance against the Broncos in Week 2.

CAR - TE Greg Olsen had surgery Monday

    Source: ESPN - Chris Mortensen

Updating an earlier report, Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen (foot) had surgery Monday, Sept. 18, and the surgery was a routine procedure. The team is still evaluating whether Olsen will go on the Reserve/Injured list.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Olsen is set to miss 6-8 weeks with this foot injury. While he's out, the Panthers will turn to Ed Dickson as their top tight end. Dickson isn't a great option to add via the waiver wire, so look elsewhere if you need help at the position.

DAL - QB Dak Prescott has ankle injury

Source: The Dallas Morning News - Jon Machota

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott (ankle) suffered an ankle injury in the Cowboys' Week 2 loss to the Denver Broncos, according to head coach Jason Garrett.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Prescott was bent awkwardly against the Broncos on Sunday. The Cowboys are lucky the injury was not more severe because it looked incredibly painful when it happened. Prescott will likely be limited in practice this week, but for now fantasy owners should plan on him playing in Week 3 against the Cardinals.

WAS - TE Jordan Reed day-to-day

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (chest) is considered day-to-day with a chest contusion, according to head coach Jay Gruden.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We're two games into the season and Reed is already banged up....sounds about right. Fantasy owners should have been prepared for this. Vernon Davis gets a larger opportunity if Reed misses time.

CLE - WR Corey Coleman will miss multiple months

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Cleveland Browns WR Corey Coleman (hand) is expected to miss six to eight months with his broken hand.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

He is a candidate to be placed on the Reserve/Injured list, but he would be able to return this season. Kenny Britt isn't doing much with the Browns, so Rashard Higgins may be the player who emerges as a primary target for the passing game.

BAL - RB Terrance West hobbled

Source: The Baltimore Sun - Jeff Zrebiec

Baltimore Ravens RB Terrance West (leg) is dealing with a soft-tissue injury and is day to day. He only played 15 snaps in Week 2.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Buck Allen came through for the Ravens and for fantasy owners in Week 2. West's status for Week 3 is up in the air right now, so the team may turn to Allen more than ever. Behind him, Alex Collins would get some work as a change-of-pace back. Since he's day-to-day, monitor West during the week of practice....but don't be planning on him playing in Week 3 at this time.

SEA - TE Jimmy Graham nursing sore ankle

Source: The Seattle Times - Bob Condotta

Seattle Seahawks Jimmy Graham (ankle) came away from Week 2 with a sore ankle and it is 'unclear' at the moment if he will play in Week 3 versus the Tennessee Titans.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Graham has been downright awful to begin the season. The Seahawks offense in general hasn't been anything to write home about in 2017. If Graham misses time with this ankle injury, Luke Willson will step into a larger role.

PIT - TE Jesse James expects to play

    Source: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Jesse James (ankle) said he expects to play in Week 3 even though he suffered an ankle injury during the team's Week 2 game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

James was dinged up against the Vikings, but he played 71 snaps on Sunday. Xavier Grimble only played 16 snaps in Week 2 and Vance McDonald didn't play at all due to a back injury. James is likely to be limited during the week of practice, but we should see him back out there in Week 3 against the Bears.

NE - WR Phillip Dorsett hopes to practice

    Source: ESPNBoston.com - Mike Reiss

New England Patriots WR Phillip Dorsett (knee) said his knee is a little sore but hopes to participate in practice this week.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Patriots are banged up on offense, so having Dorsett available would help. Dorsett was able to catch three passes for 68 yards before exiting the game against the Saints in Week 2.

HOU - WR Will Fuller on the practice field

Source: Houston Chronicle - Aaron Wilson

Houston Texans WR Will Fuller (shoulder) participated in practice Monday, Sept. 18. His status for Week 3 is uncertain at this point.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's all hands on deck as the Texans play the Patriots in Week 3. Fuller may be able to get back on the field this week, and his speed would certainly help stretch a Patriots defense that has allowed an average of 350.0 passing yards per game (31st in the NFL).

GB - WR Randall Cobb is day-to-day

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb's (shoulder) MRI revealed no significant damage to his injured shoulder. He is considered day-to-day, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The MRI is good news, but it still gives no clarity as to when Cobb will be back on the field. If Cobb is down, and Jordy Nelson (quad) is banged up, we could see Davante Adams get a large chunk of the passing game. Geronimo Allison could move up the depth chart if Cobb misses time.

IND - QB Andrew Luck won't play this week

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck (shoulder) has been ruled out for Week 3.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We should see Jacoby Brissett start again for the Colts. As we've seen over two games, the Colts skill position players should be downgraded while Luck continues to miss time.

HOU - WR Jaelen Strong released

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Houston Texans WR Jaelen Strong was released Monday, Sept. 18.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Strong played 20 snaps against the Bengals on Thursday night in Week 2 despite the fact the Texans are desperate for help in the passing game. A third-round pick in the 2015 NFL draft, Strong has only 28 receptions over two years in the league. Injuries and off-field trouble have plagued his pro career.

WAS - RB Rob Kelley also day-to-day

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Washington Redskins RB Rob Kelley (ribs) is considered day-to-day with a rib cartilage injury.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ribs injuries are painful and difficult to play through. Kelley is no lock to play in Week 3, and that opens the door for rookie Samaje Perine to be the team's lead back. Chris Thompson has great value in PPR leagues as a pass-catching option who can make big plays anytime he touches the ball. We'll know more about Kelley's availability later in the week.

BUF - QB Tyrod Taylor to remain a starter in Week 3

    Source: WKBW.com - Joe Buscaglia

Buffalo Bills QB Tyrod Taylor will be the starting quarterback in Week 3 against the Denver Broncos, according to head coach Sean McDermott.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

He's the starter even though the Bills offense was atrocious against the Panthers in Week 2. The Bills don't have a great matchup against the swarming Denver Broncos defense in Week 3, and Taylor should struggle against the league's best defense.

PHI - RB Donnel Pumphrey out for season

Source: The Philadelphia Inquirer - Jeff McLane

Updating previous reports, Philadelphia Eagles RB Donnel Pumphrey (hamstring) is out for the season.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Pumphrey flashed a bit during training camp and the preseason. The team is likely looking at him as the eventual replacement to Darren Sproles.

CIN - TE Tyler Eifert iffy for Week 3

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter
Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert (back, knee) is battling back and knee injuries, and his status for Week 3 is uncertain.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Fantasy owners need to look elsewhere for help at the position. Eifert has four catches for 46 yards in two games, and the Bengals offense has yet to score a touchdown in 2017.

Looks like a lost season for the Colts .

Good job, LT. Nice thread. Will add a few small notes:

    * Pittsburgh. Also have two OffLinemen that are questionable.

    * GBay. 4Off starters ?? In addition to Cobb, Nelson? and the 2 OffTackles ? again.

    Wednesday Update

CLE - WR Corey Coleman officially on IR

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Cleveland Browns WR Corey Coleman (hand) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Sept. 19.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Coleman could return later this year after having surgery to repair his hand injury on Monday. He'll be able to practice with the team in six weeks and could return in eight weeks. While Coleman is out, the Browns may end up turning mostly to Rashard Higgins. Activated off the practice squad last week, Higgins had a solid day in Week 2 (seven catches, 95 yards). The 2016 fifth-round pick (Colorado State) can make crazy catches seem routine and seems to be the favorite target while Coleman is hurt and Kenny Britt continues to disappoint.

CAR - TE Greg Olsen goes to IR

    Source: Panthers.com - Max Henson

Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen (foot) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Sept. 19, after having surgery on his broken foot Monday, Sept. 18. Specifically, Olsen broke the fifth metatarsal on his right foot and had a screw inserted to repair the fracture, according to Carolina's head athletic trainer.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
We could see Olsen as one of the team's 'designated to return' players. Olsen can start practicing again in six weeks and he can return to game action in eight weeks. While Olsen is out, Ed Dickson takes over as the lead tight end for the Panthers...but we're not rushing out to add him to our fantasy lineups. Dickson is a low-end TE2 at best.

CLE - WR Rashard Higgins now a starter?

    Source: ClevelandBrowns.com

Cleveland Browns WR Rashard Higgins was listed as a starter on the team' Week 3 unofficial depth chart Tuesday, Sept. 19.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Higgins should stay in the slot for the Browns as that's where he can do the most damage. Ricardo Louis is likely to line up outside opposite Kenny Britt. Watch this young duo for the Browns (Higgins, Louis) to see what kind of impact the 2016 draft picks can do with this opportunity.

DAL - QB Dak Prescott to play Week 3

Source: The Dallas Morning News - Jon Machota

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott (ankle) will be 'ready to go' for Week 3 against the Arizona Cardinals, according to general manager/owner Jerry Jones, after suffering a minor ankle injury in a Week 2 loss to the Denver Broncos.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Prescott was beat up by the Broncos defense all day on Sunday. He was bent over awkwardly during one of those hits but was able to stay in the game. Prescott has an ankle injury but should be able to play in a better matchup against the Cardinals in Week 3.

NYG - Odell Beckham plays 61 percent of snaps

Source: New York Post - Paul Schwartz

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (ankle) played 34 of 56 (61 percent) offensive snaps in Week 2.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Beckham was targeted five times and hauled in four passes for 36 yards in the loss to the Lions on Monday night. He didn't appear to have any setbacks with this injury, so fantasy owners can look at him as a WR1 for Week 3 against the Eagles.

GB - WR Jordy Nelson 50-50 for Week 3

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson (quadriceps) is '50-50' to play in Week 3, according to a source, but his quadriceps strain isn't considered serious.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'll know more as the week goes on. If the quad strain isn't serious, then Nelson should be available for Week 3 but it's too early to tell. We should see Nelson limited during practice this week as the Packers prepare for a home game against the Bengals.

JAX - Jacksonville claims WR Jaelen Strong

    Source: FirstCoastNews.com - Mike Kaye

Free-agent WR Jaelen Strong (Texans) was claimed off waivers by the Jacksonville Jaguars Tuesday, Sept. 19.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
With Allen Robinson (knee) done for the year and rookie Dede Westbrook (core) banged up, the Jaguars wanted to add talent at the position. Injuries and inconsistency have knocked Strong's career off track. We'll see if a new home can help the third-round pick (2015) play better.

BAL - RB Jeremy Langford, two others back to Ravens

Source: The Baltimore Sun - Jeff Zrebiec
Free-agent RB Jeremy Langford (Ravens), OG Arie Kouandjio (Redskins) and LB Nicholas Grigsby (Rams) were signed to the Baltimore Ravens' practice squad Tuesday, Sept. 19.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Langford was just released to make way for Alex Collins on the 53-man roster. Now he's back to give the team more depth at the position. Terrance West (leg) is dealing with a soft-tissue injury and is day to day. He only played 15 snaps in Week 2. That could lead to more time for Collins and Buck Allen in the Ravens backfield.

    Thursday Update

MIA - RB Jay Ajayi unable to practice

    Source: MiamiDolphins.com

Miami Dolphins RB Jay Ajayi (knee) was unable to practice Wednesday, Sept. 20, due to a knee ailment.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's probably just a day of rest for Ajayi. Against the Jets in Week 3, Ajayi is a must-start RB1.

GB - WR Jordy Nelson practices in full

Source: Milwaukee Journal Sentinel - Tom Silverstein
Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson (quadriceps) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Sept. 20.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Great news for the Packers here. Against the Bengals in Week 3, Nelson is a WR2 with upside for fantasy owners.

MIN - QB Sam Bradford puts in limited practice

    Source: PewterReport.com

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Sept. 20.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Things are trending towards Bradford playing in Week 3. If he does get back out there after missing last week's game against the Steelers, Bradford could elevate the play of the pass catchers on the roster. Guys like WR Adam Thielen, Stefon Diggs and TE Kyle Rudolph would benefit from Bradford's return. Check back Friday to see which way his status is trending for Week 3.

SEA - No practice for TE Jimmy Graham

Source: Seahawks Wire - Liz Mathews

Seattle Seahawks TE Jimmy Graham (ankle) was held out of practice Wednesday, Sept. 20, with a sprained ankle.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's not just the ankle, Graham is likely to be a game-time decision due to knee issues as well. Fantasy owners need to make other plans if they had Graham as their top tight end. Not only is he battling multiple injuries, the Seahawks offense hasn't looked great so far in 2017.

BAL - RB Terrance West not at practice

Source: The Baltimore Sun - Jeff Zrebiec

Baltimore Ravens RB Terrance West (thigh) was unable to practice Wednesday, Sept. 20.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Monitor West's practice status as the week goes on. If he's unable to play against the Jaguars in Week 3, the team would turn to Buck Allen for a larger role. It would also create more of an opportunity for Alex Collins in the Ravens backfield.

CIN - TE Tyler Eifert a no-go Wednesday

Source: The Cincinnati Enquirer - Paul Dehner Jr.

Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert (knee, back) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 20.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Things are looking bleak for the Bengals offense, and Eifert is a player many fantasy owners might have already moved on from for better options on the waiver wire. If Eifert does play against the Packers in Week 3, consider him only as a TE2.

IND - QB Andrew Luck still not ready to practice

    Source: NFL.com - Ian Rapoport

Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck (shoulder) will not practice at all prior to the team's Week 3 game versus the Cleveland Browns.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's going to be some time before we see Luck back on the practice field...let alone the playing field for the Colts. At this point, a return in Week 5 or Week 6 seems a bit outlandish. Perhaps something will hint towards which direction the team goes in the near future.

WAS - RB Rob Kelley hopes to play

    Source: ESPN.com - John Keim

Washington Redskins RB Rob Kelley (rib) said he hopes to play in Week 3 even though he is dealing with a rib injury he suffered in Week 2.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
He said he will wear a pad over his ribs to protect them if he is active for Week 3. If Kelley plays, it hurts the fantasy value of Chris Thompson and Samaje Perine.

HOU - WR Will Fuller ruled out for Week 3

Source: Houston Chronicle - Aaron Wilson

Houston Texans WR Will Fuller (shoulder) has been ruled out for Week 3 against the New England Patriots.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Just when you thought the speedy, second-year WR could get back out there this week. The Texans will continue to pepper DeAndre Hopkins with targets, and no other receiver on the team is worth considering for fantasy owners in Week 3.

TEN - RB DeMarco Murray sits out

    Source: NFL

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 20.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Get Derrick Henry ready if you've got him. With Murray still slowed by this hamstring that has bothered him since the preseason, it opens up a huge role for Henry. If Murray sits against the Seahawks, plug in Henry as a low-end RB1.

CHI - WR Markus Wheaton hopeful for Week 3

    Source: ChicagoBears.com - Larry Mayer

Chicago Bears WR Markus Wheaton (finger) said Wednesday, Sept. 20, that he is hopeful of making his team debut in Week 3 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It would be a revenge game for Wheaton against his old team the Steelers. Even if he does play, we're not expecting Wheaton to exact much revenge on Sunday.

GB - WR Randall Cobb does not practice

Source: Milwaukee Journal Sentinel - Tom Silverstein

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (chest) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 20.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cobb is getting some rest on Wednesday but could practice later in the week and play on Sunday. Geronimo Allison would be the no3 wide receiver for the Packers if Cobb was unable to go against the Bengals.

TEN - WR Eric Decker, WR Rishard Matthews to start

    Source: ESPN.com - Cameron Wolfe

Tennessee Titans WRs Eric Decker and Rishard Matthews are set to start in Week 3 against the Seattle Seahawks with rookie WR Corey Davis (hamstring) sidelined.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Neither Decker or Matthews are likely to do much against the Seahawks on Sunday. It helps that they're at home in Week 3, but fantasy owners should just consider either one a WR3 or flex play.

NYG - TE Evan Engram listed as limited

    Source: Giants.com

New York Giants TE Evan Engram (concussion) was limited during practice Wednesday, Sept. 20.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Engram is in the concussion protocol, and part of that includes wearing a helmet and observing practice. It's Wednesday and Engram is limited, so that's a good sign for his availability in Week 3 although he's certainly not guaranteed to play. The Giants offense is struggling, but the rookie TE from Ole Miss has eight catches for 93 yards and a touchdown in two games.

CHI - RB Jordan Howard limited in practice

    Source: ChicagoBears.com

Chicago Bears RB Jordan Howard (shoulder) practiced on a limited basis on Wednesday, Sept. 20.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Howard's shoulder bothered him in Week 2 against the Bucs, and he only rushed for seven yards on nine carries. While Howard is banged up, it has created more opportunity for rookie RB Tarik Cohen. We'll see if Howard can practice fully later in the week and look more like the running back we expected this week against the Steelers.

WAS - TE Jordan Reed sits out Wednesday

    Source: Redskins.com
Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (rib, sternum) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 20.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Reed is 'not healthy right now' according to Jay Gruden, but the veteran tight end might be healthy enough to play on Sunday against the Raiders. Fantasy owners should've been prepared for this already as Reed has always had an injury history. If he plays, Reed is a TE1 for fantasy purposes.

MIA - WR DeVante Parker limited in practice

    Source: MiamiDolphins.com

Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker (ankle) was listed as a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Sept. 20.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Things could be great for Parker in Week 3 against the Jets after a disappointing day versus Casey Hayward (Chargers) in Week 2. Parker makes a nice WR2 for fantasy owners and DFS players need to find a way to get him into the lineup. Make sure he practices fully on Friday before starting him.

DEN - WR Demaryius Thomas limited

Source: The Denver Post - Nicki Jhabvala

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas (hamstring) practiced on a limited basis Wednesday, Sept. 20.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Thomas was out on the practice field, so that's a good sign. Make sure he's able to get in a full practice on Friday before starting him in Week 3 against the Bills.

PIT - TE Jesse James unable to practice

    Source: Steelers.com

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Jesse James (ankle) did not practice Wednesday, Sept. 20.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If James can play against the Bears, he could be a sneaky fantasy play for owners in need of help. The Bears gave up a big game to Austin Hooper (Falcons) in Week 1, and they almost got burned by Cameron Brate (Buccaneers) in Week 2.

BUF - TE Charles Clay limited in practice

Buffalo Bills TE Charles Clay (knee) was listed as a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Sept. 20.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Clay might be in for a day against the Broncos in Week 3. Quarterback Tyrod Taylor will be running for his life against a ferocious Broncos defense, and a relief-valve receiver like Clay could get quite a few targets. That being said, Clay is a high-end TE2 in fantasy this week.

JAX - Full practice for WR Allen Hurns

    Source: Jaguars.com

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (shoulder) was a full participant in practice Wednesday, Sept. 20.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Jaguars don't want to go to the air if they don't have to. That makes Hurns a WR4/flex play for fantasy owners in Week 3 against the Ravens.

JAX - QB Blake Bortles has full practice

    Source: Jaguars.com

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) participated fully in practice Wednesday, Sept. 20.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Jaguars won't go to Bortles and the passing game much if they can help it. They want to run the ball and play great defense to have a chance at beating the Ravens on Sunday.

CAR - QB Cam Newton limited Wednesday

Source: Charlotte Observer - Jourdan Rodrigue

Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton (shoulder, ankle) was limited in practice Wednesday, Sept. 20.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
As Newton continues to come back from his shoulder problem, he could continue to improve. Things have looked a little off with Newton this year as he gets used to the new weapons around him on offense and how best to use them.

CAR - WR Kelvin Benjamin held out of practice

Carolina Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin (knee) was not a participant in practice Wednesday, Sept. 20.

Benjamin could just be getting some rest here. Check back on his status Friday before you plug him into your lineup.

MIA - No practice Wednesday for WR Jarvis Landry

Source: The Palm Beach Post - Jason Lieser

Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry (undisclosed) sat out of practice Wednesday, Sept. 20.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Landry had a knee issue listed on last Friday's injury report, but there's no way of telling if this is related to that. It could be the Dolphins are just giving him a day of rest. Against a terrible Jets team in Week 3, Landry should perform like a WR3/flex play at least.

Watch to see if Burkhead can practice later in the week. If he's able to play in Week 3 against the Texans, Burkhead would only be a what-the-heck flex for fantasy owners.

    Friday Update

NE - TE Rob Gronkowski limited

    Source: Patriots.com

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (groin) was limited during practice Thursday, Sept. 21.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

He should play on Sunday, while also putting up some good numbers. He dominated the half he played in against the New Orleans Saints, but this is a much better defense against tight ends. We think he'll do well if he plays, and should produce his usual solid numbers, even if Tom Brady doesn't go to him as often as he would against a lesser defense.

GB - WR Jordy Nelson full go Thursday

    Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky

Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson (quadriceps) participated fully in practice Thursday, Sept. 21.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Great news for a Packers team which, between Randall Cobb's issues and injuries to the offensive line, needs it. Against a vulnerable Cincinnati secondary, Nelson should have a solid game and produce WR2 numbers.

LAC - RB Melvin Gordon added to injury report

    Source: Chargers.com

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Sept. 21.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We never like to see a guy added to the injury list later in the week. Stay tuned to see what he's able to do in Friday's practice.

MIA - RB Jay Ajayi should play Week 3

Source: The Miami Herald - Armando Salguero

Miami Dolphins RB Jay Ajayi (knee) likely will be active for the team's Week 3 game even though he is not participating in practice Thursday, Sept. 21, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

As expected, Ajayi is going to hit the soft underbelly of a sad Jets defense. He should put up fantastic numbers this weekend and the only thing which could hold him back would be the inevitable big, early lead. We're still betting he puts up nice numbers in that case, though. Stay tuned to make sure this knee issue doesn't flare up though.

BUF - RB LeSean McCoy back on the field

    Source: BuffaloBills.com

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (wrist) fully participated in practice Thursday, Sept. 21.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This is a brutal matchup for the Bills, as Denver will key on McCoy and the run game. That said, he should still put up OK numbers, and produce RB2 value. There is the chance the team tries to change things up and throw more, hoping to catch the Broncos off guard, but really, that isn't a viable option. Expect them to try get McCoy going.

CAR - WR Kelvin Benjamin full go

Source: The Associated Press - Steve Reed

Carolina Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin (knee) participated fully in practice Thursday, Sept. 21.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Good news, as this is a matchup Benjamin should feast on. Cam Newton's shaky play is a bit of a concern but it's the Saints, who have been very giving to Fantasy GMs so far. Also, with Greg Olsen out, Benjamin becomes Newton's most reliable option and should see some nice targets.

CAR - QB Cam Newton still limited

Source: The Associated Press - Steve Reed

Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton (shoulder, ankle) remained limited in practice Thursday, Sept. 21.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
We'd be more cautious with this if the Panthers weren't facing the New Orleans Saints, who make it hard not to have a good fantasy day. This is a good week to start Newton, who we feel will be fine by game day. But if he can't flourish this week, there are going to be serious questions about Newton's ability and health.

MIA - WR DeVante Parker should be in uniform

Source: The Miami Herald - Armando Salguero

Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker (ankle) likely will be active for the team's Week 3 game even though he is not participating in practice Thursday, Sept. 21, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Parker and Jay Cutler have nearly hooked up deep a few times, and the Jets secondary is asking for that to change this week. Parker should have a field day against this secondary, and will be a high end WR2 play with upside.

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas (hamstring) was a full participant at practice Thursday, Sept. 21.

Thomas should be good to go this weekend, and we expect him to be a top Flight receiving option in fantasy this week.

NE - WR Danny Amendola a limited participant

    Source: Patriots.com

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (concussion, knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Sept. 21.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We don't expect a repeat of his Week 1 Performance. He's a guy to throw in if you are shorthanded this week. Stay tuned to see what he's able to do Friday in practice.

NYJ - Full practice for RB Matt Forte

Source: The Miami Herald - Adam H. Beasley

New York Jets RB Matt Forte (knee) fully participated in practice Thursday, Sept. 21.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

With the apparent split between Forte, Bilal Powell and Elijah McGuire, there just won't be a way to know who--if anyone--will produce points. Add to it the woeful Jets offense overall and this is a backfield to avoid until someone gets hurt and it clears up a little.

MIA - WR Jarvis Landry limited

Source: The Miami Herald - Adam H. Beasley

Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry (knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Sept. 21.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The injury will hamper him a bit, but in PPR leagues he should be a nice play. Expect a high volume of throws his way as the Dolphins dismantle the Jets defense. Check to see what he can do in Friday's practice.

WAS - TE Jordan Reed puts in limited practice

    Source: Redskins.com

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (ribs, sternum) was a limited practice participant Thursday, Sept. 21. Head coach Jay Gruden said Reed's pain is becoming manageable.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If he's playing we like him as a solid start, especially as Washington is likely to need to come from behind against a rolling Oakland team. The injury will hinder him, but he should put respectable numbers up.

BUF - TE Charles Clay takes part in practice

    Source: BuffaloBills.com

Buffalo Bills TE Charles Clay (knee) fully participated in practice Thursday, Sept. 21.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Clay isn't exactly setting the fantasy world on fire, though it's not like he ever really has. After a solid Week 1, Clay returned to form and we don't expect more against a stout Denver defense.

NYG - TE Evan Engram limited Thursday

    Source: Giants.com

New York Giants TE Evan Engram (concussion) was limited in practice Thursday, Sept. 21.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If Engram plays, he could be a decent start this week, as he was the only thing which looked good in the whole Giants offense against Detroit. That said, his targets only slightly went up, while both his catches and yards stayed static. The difference is the touchdown, which makes him a little boom or bust. He's a decent TE2, with the upside for more.

NYG - Odell Beckham remains limited

    Source: Giants.com

New York Giants Odell Beckham Jr. (ankle) was limited in practice again Thursday, Sept. 21.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

As we saw last week, just being in the lineup isn't a great guarantee of production. The offensive line and Eli Manning's bad case of jitters are a real problem, as is some shaky offensive playcalling. Beckham is Beckham, so we still like him as a decent WR2 play, but he isn't going to reach his ceiling consistently as long as the Giants offense is a mess like this.

NYJ - WR Robby Anderson limited

    Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Rich Cimini

New York Jets WR Robby Anderson (knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Sept. 21.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Anderson gets some targets but the situation the Jets passing offense offers isn't conducive to success from either an NFL or fantasy standpoint. We'll take a hard pass on this player.

GB - WR Randall Cobb still sidelined

    Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (chest) has yet to practice this week after not practicing Thursday, Sept. 21.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Early reports indicated the chest injury was no big deal, but this seems to prove otherwise and every day which passes makes it less likely he will play, or worse, he will but not do anything. Worse, he could be a game time decision for a game which kicks off at 4:25pm EST. You may have to make that decision very early on, but we'll keep you up to date here on the wire and in the Footballguys newsletters.

BAL - RB Terrance West held out again

Source: The Baltimore Sun - Edward Lee

Baltimore Ravens RB Terrance West (calf) was not practicing for the second straight day Thursday, Sept. 21.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It looks like West will not be playing this weekend, and he hasn't looked great to kick things off anyway. That means a combination of Javorius Allen and Alex Collins will carry the rock. Both hover around the RB3 area, and face a stout Jacksonville run defense.

NE - RB Rex Burkhead still not practicing

    Source: ESPNBoston.com - Mike Reiss

New England Patriots RB Rex Burkhead (ribs) remained absent from practice Thursday, Sept. 21.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It doesn't look good for Burkhead this weekend, which isn't going to hurt the Patriots at all. It does simplify the backfield a little though, and should make James White the best play--relatively speaking--in a murky situation. Consider White a great RB3 with upside if Burkhead is out.

CIN - TE Tyler Eifert out of practice

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter
Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert (knee, back) is out of practice Thursday, Sept. 21, and appears unlikely to play in Week 3, in the opinion of ESPN's Adam Schefter.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Eifert was expected to have a strong season, but that wasn't happening already and the injury doesn't improve the prospects of a turnaround. Third year backup Tyler Kroft will step in but should struggle against the Green Bay Packers, as well as with bad quarterback play. We'd avoid him unless you are desperate.

    Saturday Update

SEA - TE Jimmy Graham to be game-time decision

    Source: ESPN.com - Brady Henderson

Seattle Seahawks TE Jimmy Graham (ankle) was able to practice Friday, Sept. 22, but will be a game-time decision for Week 3 versus the Tennessee Titans, according to head coach Pete Carroll.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Graham is likely to be active, but he might play limited snaps or be of limited effectiveness. Luke Willson would get extra snaps or targets at tight end, but Tyler Lockett is also a player that could benefit from Graham's injury.

A second opinion in this case will only open Bradford up to worse diagnoses than a bone bruise. His absence could be a lot longer than two weeks.

CHI - RB Jordan Howard fully practices

    Source: ChicagoBears.com

Chicago Bears RB Jordan Howard (shoulder) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 22, and is not on the injury report for Week 3.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This is a good sign for his shoulder, which is important for his bruising running style. He's still a very dicey RB2/Flex against the Steelers this week.

TEN - RB Derrick Henry to be busy Week 3

    Source: ESPN.com - Cameron Wolfe

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry is expected to get a 'significant workload' in Week 3 against the Seattle Seahawks, regardless of whether DeMarco Murray plays or not, according to ESPN's Cameron Wolfe. Murray returned to practice as a limited participant Friday, Sept. 22, running routes and catching passes during individual drills. While Murray showed some instances of acceleration as a runner and receiver during the practice, it was far from what he would be expected to do in game action, according to Wolfe.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Henry is a go for our lineups regardless of Murray's status. Even with half of the workload, he should rate as a low-end RB2 as the Titans should prefer challenging the Seahawks run defense.

MIA - RB Jay Ajayi a question mark?

Source: The Miami Herald - Adam H. Beasley

Miami Dolphins RB Jay Ajayi (knee) was back at practice Friday, Sept. 22, after sitting out the previous two days with a knee injury. Although he is expected to play in Week 3 against the New York Jets, Ajayi had a black sleeve on his right leg and 'seemed to have a slight hitch when running,' according to the Miami Herald's Adam Beasley.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ajayi is expected to play in Week 3, but this casts a shadow over how his knee will hold up over the course of the season under a heavy workload. Damien Williams and Kenyan Drake are his backups, but neither is true between the tackles back. If the Dolphins sign a bigger back in upcoming weeks, it could be a sign that they are unsure of Ajayi's durability this year.

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (knee, concussion) proclaimed himself 'good to go' for Week 3 versus the Houston Texans.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

He's still listed as Questionable so check back to make sure things are ok. Amendola has a high ceiling WR3/Flex outlook after a very productive partial game against the Chiefs in Week 1, although he always carries a high in-game injury risk.

WAS - TE Jordan Reed Game Time Decision

Source: The Washington Post - Mike Jones
Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (chest, toe, shoulder) participated in practice for the second straight day Friday, Sept. 22.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Reed is going to be a game-time decision on Sunday night. Unless you have Vernon Davis, Jared Cook or Jermaine Gresham, you might not have the luxury of waiting around to see if he plays.

TEN - RB DeMarco Murray practices Friday

    Source: PaulKuharsky.com

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) was able to practice Friday, Sept. 22, after not participating the previous two days. He will be listed as questionable on the Week 3 injury report, according to head coach Mike Mularkey.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Murray previously had a hamstring issue in the preseason, so the Titans would be smart to err on the side of caution here. Derrick Henry deserves at least flex consideration and would be a borderline RB1 if Murray is out. He should get a significant workload even if Murray is active.

CIN - TE Tyler Eifert out of Friday practice

Source: The Cincinnati Enquirer - Paul Dehner Jr.

Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert (back, knee) is out of practice Friday, Sept. 22, and looks to be out for Week 3's game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

CJ Uzomah and Tyler Kroft will get more snaps in place of Eifert, but neither is going to fantasy relevant with the Bengals offense in its current dysfunctional state.

West could slow down the possible coming-out party for Alex Collins, who showed a lot more burst than West last week in relief and earned praise from head coach John Harbaugh. Javorius Allen looks like the safest running back play for the Ravens this week.

IND - RB Matt Jones joins active roster

    Source: NFL

Indianapolis Colts practice squad RB Matt Jones was signed to the active roster Friday, Sept. 22. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jones has lots of physical talent, but lost his starting job in Washington because of fumbles last year. He's up this week because Marlon Mack is out.

Arizona Cardinals WR JJ Nelson (hamstring) was limited during practice Friday, Sept. 22.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Nelson has been limited through two practices, so tomorrow we would like to see him get in a full practice to fully trust him on Monday night.

New England Patriots RB Rex Burkhead (ribs) did not practice Friday, Sept. 22, and he has been ruled out for Week 3 against the Houston Texans.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Dion Lewis could get more work this week against the team he scored three touchdowns against in last year's playoffs. James White also becomes a better PPR play with this news.

WAS - RB Rob Kelley questionable for Week 3

    Source: Redskins.com - Stephen Czarda

Washington Redskins RB Rob Kelley (ribs) was limited in practice Friday, Sept. 22, and is questionable for Week 3 against the Oakland Raiders. He remains in pain, and has been trying different things to alleviate the discomfort including sleeping with pillows on his back. He added that he might wear a protective vest if he plays.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If Kelley is out, Samaje Perine will be a solid RB2 play, but will still yield to Chris Thompson on passing downs.

WAS - WR Josh Doctson on track to play

    Source: Redskins.com

Washington Redskins WR Josh Doctson (hamstring) practiced in full Friday, Sept. 22, and was removed from the injury report for Week 3 against the Oakland Raiders.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Doctson is still just trying to pass Ryan Grant to be #3 on the depth chart. Jordan Reed being banged up is good for Doctson's chances of having a big role in the red zone. His first round talent is worth stashing on deep league benches.

    25. MIA - WR DeVante Parker listed as questionable

Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker (ankle) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 22, but is listed as questionable for Week 3.

Parker has a great matchup against the Jets poor defense and should be in your lineup despite the questionable tag.

    Sunday Morning Injury Updates

    QUARTERBACK

Sam Bradford | Knee | Declared Out | Inactive

Practice Participation: Wed - Limited | Thursday - Limited | Friday - DNP
Bradford was allowed to practice on Wednesday and Thursday, leading to hope he would be able to return to play this week. Although he appeared to be able to hop and change directions on light throwing drills on Thursday and wasn't nearly as stiff as he looked during last Sunday's pre-game warmup, the limited practice video I saw showed no indication he was comfortable enough to protect himself in the pocket. Even if he hadn't missed practice Friday to visit Dr. James Andrews, I think the Vikings would have limited his practice and ruled him out.
The Vikings and Bradford have yet to confirm details on the injury. Tom Pelissero -- a long time Vikings' beat writer before going national -- reported the injury as a bone bruise. Ian Rapoport suggested the concern was cartilage related in a television interview. Bradford responded to a reporter's question vaguely but interestingly this week by intimating he's been given a specific diagnosis but can't yet be sure if the injury will become a lingering concern.
I think Bradford likely has a bone bruise and it's in an area where there's concern about the cartilage overlying that part of the bone and protecting the joint. Pelissero has said the injury isn't structural. That's probably partially accurate in the sense that Bradford's ligaments are intact and no bones are injured to the point of requiring surgery. But a bone bruise to an area that involved cartilage almost always means there's a concern for arthritis in the longer term. A trip to the surgeon who has seen the inside of Bradford's knee twice, examined him many times, and knows the subtleties of his imaging studies makes sense.
Given that Bradford has struggled to recover in two weeks and sought additional opinions, I think it's unlikely we see enough interval improvement for him to return in Week 4. In fact, it won't surprise to see the Vikings choose rehab over practice next week.

CAM NEWTON | SHOULDER/Ankle | NOT LISTED | Expected to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - Limited | Thurs - Limited | Fri - Limited
Newton's ankle injury was awkward but consistent with a lower grade low ankle sprain. He may be limited around the pocket and it's unlikely the Panthers will risk Newton's usual number of designed runs. While there's a risk of aggravation during the game, there's no indication Newton will not start against the Saints.

    Others of note: Ben Roethlisberger
and Blake Bortles (wrist) practiced this week and will play without limitation. Andrew Luck (shoulder) has been declared out. I'll update return to play expectations on all inactive players in Monday's column.

    RUNNING BACK

Melvin Gordon | Knee | Questionable | Expected to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - Not Listed | Thurs - Limited | Fri - Limited
Gordon was added to the injury report with a knee injury on Thursday. He returned to a limited Friday practice. Head coach Anthony Lynn told reporters he expects Gordon to play and beat writer Eric Williams tweeted he expects no change in the distribution of touches in the Chargers' backfield. I'll watch for notes overnight into Sunday morning but it would appear Gordon can be trusted to see his usual workload.
***Sunday Morning Update: Gordon is expected to play this morning.

    Jay Ajayi
    | Knee | Questionable | Expected to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - DNP | Thurs - DNP | Fri - Full
Ajayi fully practiced last week after being listed with a knee injury last week. The two mid-week missed practices were worrisome for a player who has had past knee concerns but there was no undercurrent of concern in Miami this week. After a full Friday practice, it's likely the Dolphins decided to give Ajayi extended rest this week in the hopes he'll again be available for 25+ touches if needed.

    Jordan Howard
    | Shoulder | Not Listed | Expected to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - Limited | Thurs - Limited | Fri - Full
Howard played through a painful shoulder injury last week and didn't look comfortable. He left the locker room in a sling, prompting concerns about missed games and a more severe injury than originally anticipated. Howard ended his media silence on Monday and told reporters he was disappointed in his play and minimized the injury. After a full Friday practice, the Bears took Howard off the injury report. Howard will play this week. However, there remains a risk of aggravation this week and the shadow of Tarik Cohen continues to creep over Howard's upside.

    DeMarco Murray
    | Hamstring | Questionable | Limited if Active

Practice Participation: Wed - DNP | Thurs - DNP | Fri - Limited
Aggravated hamstring strains do not recover quickly. Had Murray not worked back slowly from a preseason injury, the Titans' claim of caution last week may have held more water. Murray was unable to do more than a limited Friday practice and Mike Mularkey's post-practice comments were not reassuring. Mularkey told reporters, "It's the kind of injury you watch and see how he wakes up in the morning...We've been pretty smart to this point. We're not going to subject anybody to further injury."
Murray was clearly limited in practice this week and did not talk to the media on Friday. Mularkey admits Murray isn't healthy and says he's not going to subject players to a risk of aggravation. Murray has already aggravated the injury at least once and the Titans have a healthy and productive Derrick Henry ready to go. I don't believe Murray will play this week and should be considered questionable for Week 4.
***Sunday Morning Update: Overnight, Adam Schefter tweeted Murray is "more than likely" to play today. Ian Rapoport had a similar report this morning. If active, there's been no indication Murray is healthy enough to assume his usual workload. Yet to participate in pregame workouts, it's possible Murray's status changes later this morning.

    Rob Kelley
    | Rib | Questionable | Likely to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - Limited | Thurs - Limited | Fri - Limited
In his Friday media session, Jay Gruden didn't discuss Kelley's status other than to say a decision would be made Sunday. Kelley was able to take part in practice all week and told reporters he would play. Fighting through the rib cartilage injury will be painful and Kelley could miss a few plays or multiple series with an aggravation.
***Sunday Morning Update: Adam Schefter reports Kelley is not expected to play today.

    Terrance West
    | Calf | Questionable | Active / Likely limited

Practice Participation: Wed - DNP | Thurs - DNP | Fri - Full
After two missed practices this week, I expected West to miss this week's game. The Ravens had under-reported injuries frequently this season and appeared to be doing the same with West after he left last week's game with a soft tissue injury. West fully practiced Friday and traveled to England with the team. There's very little in the media on West's status heading into Sunday morning. The Ravens play at 9:30 AM ET. We'll know West's status very early Sunday morning.

Others of note: LeSean McCoy, Jonathan Stewart, Frank Gore, Matt Forte
(knee), Chris Thompson (back), and DeAndre Washington (hamstring) have practiced, are not listed on the game status report, and expected to play without limitation. Rex Burkhead (ribs), Marlon Mack (shoulder), and Dwayne Washington (quad) have been declared out. I'll update return to play expectations on all inactive players in Monday's column.

    WIDE RECEIVER

ODELL BECKHAM | ANKLE | Not Listed | expected to Play

    Practice Participation: Wed - Limited |Thurs - Limited | Fri - Limited
Beckham was taken off the team's game status report this week. He suffered no aggravation of injury after 34 snaps and over 20 routes on Monday night but is not yet fully recovered. Beckham told reporters he expects to play more this week but hinted he wasn't comfortable cutting in all directions yet. He'll continue to struggle on some routes but should be more successful moving laterally this week. I believe we'll see Beckham play 40-50 snaps this week and see more targets. Whether he can take advantage against Philadelphia is a tougher question but he inching closer to his pre-injury ceiling.

    Jordy Nelson
    | Quadriceps | Questionable | Expected to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - Full | Thurs - Full | Fri - Full
The Packers listed Nelson questionable but his full week of practice is the stronger data point. Always leaning conservative, the Green Bay medical staff realizes Nelson's injury isn't likely to limit him but hasn't fully healed. There's a low chance of a weekend setback but the Packers are acknowledging the minimal risk of a pregame issue. Expect Nelson to play with additional padding over his thigh this week and he should play without limitation.

    Randall Cobb
    | Shoulder | Doubtful | Likely Inactive

Practice Participation: Wed - DNP | Thurs - DNP | Fri - DNP
Cobb hasn't been ruled out but he will not play. The Thursday DNP after telling the media he remained in a lot of pain on Wednesday was a telling development. Hopefully, resting Cobb this week will allow enough healing to allow him to return to practice next week and play.

    Danny Amendola
    | Concussion / Knee | Questionable | Expected to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - Limited | Thurs - Limited | Fri - Limited
Amendola spoke with reporters on Friday, confirming it was the concussion rather than the knee injury that kept him out of last week's game. He said he's "good to go" and will play. His confidence suggests there will be no limitations in his snap count.

    Chris Hogan
    | Knee | Questionable | Expected to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - Limited | Thurs - Limited | Fri - Limited
Like Amendola, Hogan is expected to be active and play. Despite limping through most of last week's game, Hogan managed 65 snaps and played into the fourth quarter. There's no indication he will be limited on Sunday but the return of Amendola may affect Hogan's snap count and targets.

    Jarvis Landry
    | Knee | Questionable | expected to play

Practice Participation: Wed - DNP | Thurs - Limited | Fri - Full

    DeVante Parker
    | Ankle | Questionable | expected to play

Practice Participation: Wed - Limited | Thurs - Limited | Fri - Full
Both Landry and Parker returned to full Friday practices and are expected to play. Landry was listed with a sore knee last week and was given an extra day off again this week after a 62 snap, 15 target effort in Week 2. There was no indication of concern from the Dolphins on either receiver this week and both should see their usual workloads.

*J.J. Nelson | Knee | Questionable | Likely to play

Practice Participation: Thurs - Limited | Fri - Limited | Sat - Limited
The Saturday practice participation and game status reports have not yet been released. Beat reporters were reassured with Nelson's body language in the media portion of Friday's practice. I'll officially update Gresham's status after the NFL releases the report.
***Saturday Night Update: The Cardinals listed Nelson questionable but there are no updates on his likely availability. For now, I'll continue to rely on Friday's reassuring tweets, but this needs continued monitoring overnight into Sunday morning.

    Josh Doctson
    | Hamstring | Not Listed | Expected to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - Full | Thurs - Full | Fri - Full
Doctson was finally able to return to a full week of practice. Though Washington continued to list him on the injury report, Doctson is not on the game status report. Jay Gruden told reporters last week Doctson would be limited during games until he proved he could be trusted with a full week of practice. That hurdle has been cleared. If Gruden's previous statements were accurate, Doctson could see more than the 20/63 and 29/71 snaps he played in the first two games. Don't expect many more, however, as Washington has said they'll use Ryan Grant in rotation.

    Bennie Fowler
    | Concussion | Questionable | Likely to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - DNP | Thurs - DNP | Fri - Limited
As of Friday, Fowler had yet to clear the team's concussion protocol. Some teams have an independent neurologist available on Saturday and the limited notation on Friday leaves some chance Fowler will play but he's clearly on the doubtful side of questionable.
***Sunday Morning Update: Adam Schefter reported this morning Fowler is expected to play.

Others of note: Doug Baldwin, Amari Cooper
(knee), Demaryius Thomas (hamstring), Kelvin Benjamin (knee), Robby Anderson (knee), Paul Richardson (finger), Allen Hurns (shoulder), Kendall Wright (shoulder) and Kenny Britt (knee) have fully practiced, are not listed on the game status report, and expected to play without limitation. John Brown (quad), Corey Davis (hamstring), Mike Williams (back), John Ross (knee), and Will Fuller (shoulder) have been declared out. I'll update return to play expectations on all inactive players in Monday's column.

    TIGHT END

Rob Gronkowski | Groin | Questionable | Expected to Play

Practice Participation: Wed - DNP | Thurs - Limited | Fri - Limited
We've heard Gronkowski preach caution or speak less often to the media with injuries before. It's reassuring to hear him continue to tell the media his groin strain is a minor issue. He's said he's "good to go" and "ready" to play after a good week of practice in which he felt he got "good quality reps" in preparation to play. Gronkowski remains at risk of an in-game aggravation and his groin strain could limit some routes but he looks ready to see his usual workload.

    Jimmy Graham
    | Ankle | Questionable | Likely active but limited

Practice Participation: Wed - DNP | Thurs - DNP | Fri - Full
Graham's mechanism of injury was consistent with a high ankle sprain. On Wednesday, Pete Carroll didn't sound optimistic on Graham's availability and the missed practice on Thursday had Graham looking doubtful at best. That negative trend has Graham's full Friday practice looking like a clear and unexpected outlier.
Carroll's press conference comments on Friday were specific and reassuring. He told reporters, “He did really well today. He made it through the whole practice and did everything. He practiced fully. He’ll be all right.” That's a strong endorsement and it's hard to argue against Graham being inactive Sunday afternoon. However, making it through a full game without aggravation within one week of a limiting high ankle sprain is a tough ask. The full Friday practice and late afternoon start make Graham the toughest call of the weekend. My gut says he'll be active and more limited than you'd expect of a full Friday participant. But we've seen similar players produce when part of a condensed game plan. The Titans linebackers and safeties are not elite coverage defenders, which may also work in Graham's favor.
I expect Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport to update Graham's status by early Sunday morning. I'll update here then.
***Sunday Morning Update: There are no new reports on Graham this morning unfortunately. I'll stick with my initial expectation above and adjust with any further reports today.

    Jordan Reed
    | Rib / Sternum | Questionable | game-time decision

Practice Participation: Wed - DNP | Thurs - Limited | Fri - Limited
I'm never confident in projecting Reed's status. There are times when he appears limited in practice and isn't optimistic when discussing his status, then plays a full complement of snaps and plays productively. Other times, Reed sounds comfortable but his play doesn't match his statements.
This week, the reports are confusing. First, Reed was reported to have an AC joint sprain, then an SC joint sprain, then a chest contusion, and was eventually listed with a rib and sternum injury. He has told reporters he has full range of motion in his shoulder and feels good but also says he feels worse with this injury than last year's AC sprain -- an injury which significantly limited him last year.
I think Reed has an SC joint sprain. That fits with the rib/sternum listing and matches a report earlier in the week. It also jives with Reed's assertion he's not had anything like this before and has made it difficult for him to describe his status. Both Reed and Jay Gruden see this as a game-time decision. That's enough for me to believe Reed will be limited if he plays and will be in the tough-to-project category of a player who may see 3-5 high leverage targets only. Unlike the Seahawks, who don't have a robust depth chart behind Jimmy Graham, Washington has veterans Vernon Davis and Niles Paul in reserve.
As of Saturday afternoon, I'd lean toward Reed playing in high-leverage situations with a reasonable chance of doing more. But it won't be shocking to see Reed inactive either. I'll have more after the Sunday morning reports from Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport.
***Sunday Morning Update: Adam Schefter tweeted Reed remains a game-time decision but is "more unlikely to play."

    Evan Engram
    | Concussion | Not Listed | Expected to play

Practice Participation: Wed- Limited | Thurs - Limited | Fri - Limited
Engram practiced this week and reportedly cleared the concussion protocol on Friday. Clearance by an independent neurologist hasn't been confirmed but the Giants did not list Engram on the game status report. He's expected to be active.

*JERMAINE GRESHAM | RIBS | Limited | Questionable

Practice Participation: Thurs - Limited | Fri - Limited | Sat - Limited
The Saturday practice participation and game status reports have not yet been released. The overall trend with Gresham was positive through Friday evening. I'll officially update Gresham's status after the NFL releases the report.
Saturday Night Update: Gresham was again limited and has been listed questionable. He has a better chance to play than last week but will be limited if active

    Others of note: Charles Clay
(knee), Zach Miller, Jared Cook (shoulder), Jesse James (ankle), Ryan Griffin (concussion), Jeff Heuerman (shoulder) have fully practiced, are not listed on the game status report, and expected to play without limitation. Tyler Eifert (back) and Maxx Williams (ankle) have been declared out. I'll update return to play expectations on all inactive players in Monday's column.

    DEFENSIVE PLAYER NOTES

    EDGE:
There are no critical game-time decisions among the edge players listed on this week's game status report. Vic Beasley (hamstring), Nick Perry (hand), T.J. Watt (groin), and Myles Garrett (ankle) will again be inactive. A handful of key edge players were rested this week but all returned to their usual practice participation and are expected to see their usual snap counts.
    DEFENSIVE LINE:
Stephon Tuitt is officially questionable but is expected to play a rotational role in his return from a torn biceps tendon.
Muhammad Wilkerson (shoulder) returned to a limited practice on Friday and is officially a game-time decision. I lean toward him being active on Sunday.
Gerald McCoy (ankle) is also listed questionable but is expected to play. He practiced fully on Friday and has told the media he'll play.
Marcell Dareus (ankle) and Mike Daniels (hip) will not play this week.
    LINEBACKER:
Kwon Alexander (hamstring) could not practice this week and will not play -- and his Week 4 is now in doubt. Kendall Beckwith will move inside and likely play every down.
Deone Bucannon (ankle) has likely done enough in practice to be active but will play a limited role if he plays.
Mason Foster (shoulder) will try to play with a harness to limit the risk of another shoulder dislocation this week.
Jamie Collins (concussion), B.J. Goodson (shin), Jarrad Davis (concussion), and Nick Kwiatkoski (pectoral) will not play this week. Collins will be replaced by a committee of players, with Joe Schobert continuing in an every-down role in the middle. Calvin Munson again gets the call replacing Goodson. Jalen Reeves-Maybin will play on early downs for Jarrad Davis with Tahir Whitehead moving inside. Paul Worrilow will see some passing down snaps for Detroit. Donta Hightower (knee) is likely to be inactive.
    DEFENSIVE BACK:
San Diego's Jason Verrett (knee), Houston's Kevin Johnson (knee), and Green Bay's Davon House (quad) join the long list of cornerbacks already missing time. The Saints will be without both Sterling Moore (chest) and Marshon Lattimore (concussion). The Giants' Janoris Jenkins (ankle) and Colts' Vontae Davis (groin) have a chance to play but are likely on the doubtful side of questionable.

    OFFENSIVE LINE NOTES

    Sunday Update

LAC - RB Melvin Gordon expected to play

    Source: ESPN.com - Eric D. Williams

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (knee) is expected to play against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 3, head coach Anthony Lynn said Friday, Sept. 22.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gordon was a late addition to the injury report, but practicing on Friday shows that he's likely to play on Sunday. Things haven't been great for Gordon this year, but he's still got plenty of fantasy relevant as a centerpiece of the Chargers offense.

DAL - RB Ezekiel Elliott to play in next two games

Source: USA TODAY Sports - Lorenzo Reyes

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott has been cleared to play in the next two games after the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th District set a Oct. 2 court date for the case involving his six-game suspension.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Don't automatically hit 'accept' if you get a trade offer for Elliott...he could be suspended as soon as Week 5. Even after a career-worst game against the Broncos in Week 2, you're still starting Elliott so long as he's playing. Have a plan ready in case Elliott ends up getting suspended at some point this season.

MIA - RB Jay Ajayi 'feeling good'

    Source: ESPN.com - James Walker

Miami Dolphins RB Jay Ajayi (knee) missed two practices this week with a knee injury but told reporters he was 'feeling good' despite being listed as questionable on the official Week 3 injury report.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Great news for the Dolphins and for fantasy owners here. Against the Jets, Ajayi could do plenty of damage (and rack up points) without getting a ton of playing time. They may have him on a snap count in Week 3, and if the Dolphins blow out the Jets then perhaps Ajayi will get some rest.

DAL - Questionable tag for WR Terrance Williams

Source: The Dallas Morning News - Jon Machota

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams (ankle) is listed as questionable for the team's Week 3 game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Williams has been limited during the week of practice, but it looks like he'll play on Monday night against the Cardinals. Fantasy owners aren't lined up to start him anyway, and you likely have much better options as Williams is merely a desperation 'what the heck' flex.

ARI - JJ Nelson listed as questionable

    Source: AZCardinals.com

Arizona Cardinals WR JJ Nelson (hamstring) was limited during practice Saturday, Sept. 23, and is listed as questionable for Week 3.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy owners are looking forward to Nelson's Monday night performance, but they have to have a backup plan in case he doesn't play. He's been limited all week in practice, and hamstring injuries can slow a speedy receiver like him down. We might see Jaron Brown get a little more love if Nelson isn't quite himself.

NYJ - TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins may have bigger role

    Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Rich Cimini

New York Jets TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins could receive a bigger role in the offense in Week 3 if TE Will Tye (illness) is not able to play.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If you're desperate at the TE position, then Seferian-Jenkins could be a consideration for you off the waiver wire as a streamer. The Jets are horrible, but they're going to be playing from behind and will have to fill the air with footballs to stay in games. Perhaps a chunk of those targets will wind up aimed at Seferian-Jenkins. He's always been physically gifted but has been a career disappointment in the pros due to injury and inconsistency.

DEN - WR Bennie Fowler out of protocol

    Source: DenverBroncos.com - Patrick Smyth
Denver Broncos WR Bennie Fowler (concussion) has cleared the concussion protocol but is still listed as questionable for Week 3.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Fowler still might not play against the Bills on Sunday. If he's down, then the Broncos would likely turn to Jordan Taylor in Week 3. In two games, Taylor has been a healthy scratch for the Broncos. Rookie Isaiah McKenzie would also get a bump in opportunity.

    Monday Update

NYG - WR Odell Beckham Jr. hauls in two TDs

    Source: The Associated Press

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. racked up nine receptions for 79 yards and two touchdowns on a game-high 13 targets.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Beckham had a highlight reel touchdown to pull the team even and did everything he could in his first game near 100% this year. He's back to being an elite WR1 heading into a matchup with Tampa.

CAR - WR Kelvin Benjamin appears to be fine

    Source: NFL.com - Ian Rapoport

Updating a previous report, Carolina Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin (knee) did not suffered a major injury, based on early indications, a source said Sunday, Sept. 24.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If he can be ready to play for next week's game against the Patriots, he'll be a decent boom/bust WR3/Flex considering the number of points New England has given up this year.

NYG - WR Brandon Marshall posts eight catches

    Source: The Associated Press

New York Giants WR Brandon Marshall managed eight receptions for 66 yards on 11 targets in Week 3 at Philadelphia.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Marshall's fantasy pulse is no longer flatlining, but the Giants won't air it out to this extent in every game. He's more bench fodder than flexworthy at this point.

NYG - WR Sterling Shepard explodes for 133 yards, TD

    Source: The Associated Press

New York Giants WR Sterling Shepard posted seven receptions for 133 yards and a touchdown in Week 3 at Philadelphia on 10 targets.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Shepard had a long touchdown to keep the Giants even in the second half, but it wasn't enough as the Giants went to 0-3. He'll be worth flex consideration next week against the Bucs defense that couldn't contain Case Keenum today.

PHI - TE Zach Ertz busy in Week 3 victory

    Source: The Associated Press

Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz posted a game-high eight receptions for 55 yards and one touchdown on 10 targets in Week 3 against the New York Giants.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ertz had a drop on a sure touchdown but then Carson Wentz went right back to him in a good sign for the trust factor. He's the most consistent fantasy tight end to date, but next week is facing the Chargers defense that just shut down Travis Kelce.

DET - QB Matthew Stafford strong in Week 3

    Source: The Associated Press

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford threw 25-for-45 for 265 yards and one touchdown in a 30-26 loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, Sept. 24.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Stafford could have had two and a solid fantasy day but Golden Tate was just short of the goal line on what should have been the game-winning score. Stafford has a tough matchup next week against the Vikings, but is still deserving of low QB1 consideration.

MIA - WR DeVante Parker has good Week 3 outing

    Source: The Associated Press

Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker (ankle) caught eight passes for 76 yards and a touchdown in a 20-6 loss to the New York Jets on Sunday, Sept. 24.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Parker produced almost all of his numbers in garbage time, so this doesn't improve his outlook that much. Next week, he'll be a boom/bust WR3/Flex against a vulnerable Saints secondary.

NYJ - WR Robby Anderson leads receiving corps

    Source: The Associated Press

New York Jets WR Robby Anderson caught three of his six targeted passes for 95 yards, including a 69-yard strike from QB Josh McCown, in a 20-6 win over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, Sept. 24.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Anderson had a deep score that was his specialty last year. The targets won't be consistent and he has a tough matchup against the Jaguars next week, but his dynasty stock is intact even while the Jets go through quarterback transitions.

NE - TE Rob Gronkowski posts 89 yards, TD

    Source: NFL.com

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski caught eight passes for 89 yards and one touchdown against the Houston Texans in Week 3.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gronkowski doesn't look quite as strong or fast as years past, but the numbers are there and Tom Brady is still looking to him in crucial situations. He's the most valuable fantasy tight end heading into a matchup with the Panthers.

NE - Brandon Cooks has breakout game

    Source: NFL.com

New England Patriots WR Brandin Cooks caught five passes for 131 yards and two touchdowns against the Houston Texans in Week 3.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Cooks had near misses in the first two weeks that turned into hits in this game. He's a boom/bust strong WR2 heading into a matchup with the Panthers.

    22. NE - RB James White not a big factor
    Source: NFL.com

New England Patriots RB James White rushed for 17 yards on five carries against the Houston Texans in Week 3. He also caught one pass for 11 yards in the game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

White was a big disappointment with Rex Burkhead out. He wasn't able to become a core part of the offense and appears to be a matchup flex play at best right now.

NYJ - RB Bilal Powell rebounds slightly in Week 3

    Source: The Associated Press

New York Jets RB Bilal Powell ran 15 times for 37 yards and scored one touchdown in a 20-6 win over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, Sept. 24.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Powell will be a low-end flex/RB2 next week against the Jaguars defense if Matt Forte's toe injury keeps him out.

HOU - WR DeAndre Hopkins continues strong play

    Source: NFL.com

Houston Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins caught seven passes for 76 yards against the New England Patriots in Week 3.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hopkins is going to see a lot of targets and a lot of coverage. He'll be a steady PPR play with a high floor, but lower ceiling than years past.

HOU - QB Deshaun Watson throws for over 300 yards

    Source: NFL.com

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson went 22-for-33 for 301 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions against the New England Patriots in Week 3. He also rushed for 41 yards on eight carries during the game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Watson played in the eye of the storm and did everything he needed to for the Texans to come away with a road win at Foxboro, but Tom Brady did him one better. He's looking like a good streaming quarterback heading into a matchup with Tennessee.

CLE - RB Duke Johnson shines in road loss

    Source: The Associated Press

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson rushed twice for 23 yards and a touchdown in Week 3 at Indianapolis and he added team-highs with six receptions and 81 yards on seven targets.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Browns have to get Johnson more involved as probably their best offensive play at this point. He is starting to riff with DeShone Kizer and could be a viable PPR RB2/flex going forward.

MIN - WR Adam Thielen nearly reaches 100 yards

    Source: NFL.com

Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen caught five passes for 98 yards against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 3.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Thielen wasn't in many lineups today after the Vikings Week 2 struggles on offense, but that probably won't happen again. He has turned into one of the better downfield receivers in the league, and the Vikings offense is taking a lot more shots downfield with a better offensive line. He's a fantasy WR2 against the Lions next week.

MIN - RB Dalvin Cook a big factor for Vikings

    Source: NFL.com

Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook rushed for 97 yards and one touchdown on 27 carries against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 3. He also caught five passes for 72 yards during the game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cook was the engine of the offense on the first drive and helped the offense find their way after a tough Week 2. He's a no brainer RB1 heading into a matchup with the Lions next week.

CLE - QB DeShone Kizer has mixed results

    Source: The Associated Press

Cleveland Browns rookie QB DeShone Kizer completed 22 of his 47 pass attempts for 242 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions in Week 3 at Indianapolis. He also added seven runs for 44 yards and a score.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Kizer was uneven and not safe with the ball as usual, but he kept plugging away in the second half and put up a very good fantasy day in the process. The Browns are going to stay with him through thick and thin, and he will be viable in weeks that he plays lesser defenses. We're not sure if the Bengals are one with Vontaze Burfict coming back next week.

CAR - RB Christian McCaffrey busy in pass game

    Source: The Associated Press
Carolina Panthers rookie RB Christian McCaffrey racked up nine receptions for 101 yards on a game-high 11 targets in Week 3 against the Saints and he added four runs for 16 yards.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
McCaffrey is going to have to shoulder the passing game with Greg Olsen out and Kelvin Benjamin hurt. While it's bad news for the 2-1 Panthers, it's good for McCaffrey, especially in PPR leagues.
