NFL Player News - Week 6

    Courtesy of Footballguys.com

GB - RB Eddie Lacy uncertain to play Week 6

    Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky

Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy (ankle) was encouraged by the fact he was able to walk on his injured ankle Monday, Oct. 10, less than 24 hours after injuring it in a Week 5 win over the New York Giants. However, he was not able to finish the game and told reporters Monday 'we'll see how it is going into next week' when asked about playing versus the Dallas Cowboys in Week 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Packers will take it easy on Lacy during the week of practice. We will have an update on his status around Friday. In case he can't play, fantasy owners need to have another RB ready. Without Lacy, the Packers would use more of James Starks.

TB - RB Charles Sims placed on IR

    Source: Buccaneers.com - Scott Smith

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Charles Sims (knee) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Monday, Oct. 10. RB Russell Hansbrough was correspondingly promoted from the practice squad.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Bucs are still without Doug Martin, so they'll move forward with Jacquizz Rodgers and Peyton Barber. Sims has disappointed since Martin went down, but now he's getting plenty of time to recover.

SF - 49ers taking hard look at QB position

Source: San Jose Mercury News - Cam Inman

San Francisco 49ers QB Blaine Gabbert's job status continues to be an open-ended question, as head coach Chip Kelly suggested the team is 'looking at every option' at the position.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We're likely to see a QB switch soon. The 49ers could turn things over to Colin Kaepernick due to Gabbert's struggles. On paper, Kaepernick seems like a good fit for Kelly's system.

NE - TE Rob Gronkowski feeling good again

    Source: ESPNBoston.com - Mike Reiss

New England Patriots Rob Gronkowski played 64 of 72 snaps in a Week 5 victory over the Cleveland Browns and did not report any setbacks with the hamstring injury that had limited him for the first four games of the season.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

With Tom Brady back on the field, Gronkowski went back to looking like his old self. Fantasy owners should trust Gronkowski again as a TE1 - and Martellus Bennett has to be considered the same.

DAL - QB Tony Romo will remain the starter

    Source: DallasCowboys.com

Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo (back) is expected to undergo an MRI on Monday, Oct. 10, and owner/general manager Jerry Jones once again confirmed Romo will remain the starter when he is cleared to return despite the play of rookie Dak Prescott.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Cowboys are not coming off their stance that Romo will be the main guy when he returns. However, with every game that goes by with Prescott impressing that becomes a larger question mark.

DEN - Gary Kubiak has migraine condition

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Denver Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak will be released from the hospital Monday, Oct. 10, after he was diagnosed with a complex migraine condition.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It sounds like Kubiak is going to be ok but he will take this week off. The Broncos travel to play the San Diego Chargers in Week 6 and will be without Kubiak. Per NFL.com, "Special teams coordinator Joe DeCamillis has been elevated to interim head coach. Elway said that promoting the special teams coordinator was the most seamless way to reorganize the staff with offensive coordinator Rick Dennison taking on full-time play calling duties and Wade Phillips calling the defense."

    BAL - Marc Trestman fired

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Marc Trestman was fired Monday, Oct. 10, and replaced by Marty Mornhinweg, according to league sources.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Trestman did not stick with the rushing attack like the team wanted, so they let him go after just over a season as the team's offensive coordinator. Mornhinweg should feed the RBs plenty and set things up for Joe Flacco to launch deep passes. Your Terrance West stock (and perhaps Kenneth Dixon) just got a boost.

GB - WR Randall Cobb should play

    Source: Packer Report

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (head) should be good to go for Week 6 despite suffering a head injury late in the Packers' Week 5 contest against the New York Giants.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'll see Cobb limited during the week of practice. By Friday, we should have a good idea about his availability. Fantasy owners should consider Cobb a WR3/flex option going forward.

SD - RB Melvin Gordon still the man

Source: The San Diego Union-Tribune - Michael Gehlken

San Diego Chargers RB Melvin Gordon will continue to be the Chargers' lead running back despite lost fumbles, according to head coach Mike McCoy. Gordon fumbled six times in his rookie season and has fumbled twice so far this year.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

What other choice do the Chargers have? Gordon is having a great season, but he's got a tough match against the Broncos on Thursday night. Look for him to put up low-end RB1 numbers in Week 6.

CIN - RB Jeremy Hill will practice this week

Source: The Cincinnati Enquirer - Jim Owczarski

Cincinnati Bengals RB Jeremy Hill (shoulder) will be ready to practice Wednesday, Oct. 12, according to head coach Marvin Lewis. Hill suffered a shoulder injury in Week 5 against the Dallas Cowboys.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Bengals travel to play the Patriots in Week 6. Having Hill would be helpful for an offense that wants to keep Tom Brady cold on the sideline. If Hill can't play or is limited, then Gio Bernard would get a larger workload.

ARI - QB Carson Palmer should clear protocol

Source: The Arizona Republic - Kent Somers

Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer (concussion) is expected to clear the concussion protocol Tuesday, Oct. 10, according to head coach Bruce Arians.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Cardinals are at home to take on the Jets on Monday night. Palmer should be able to put up QB1 numbers against a Jets secondary that gives up an average of 302.4 yards per game (31st in the NFL).

CLE - QB Josh McCown to resume practicing

    Source: News 5 Cleveland

Cleveland Browns QB Josh McCown (shoulder) is expected to return to practice this week, and he may be a candidate to play in Week 6, based on comments from head coach Hue Jackson on Monday, Oct. 10.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

With Cody Kessler also banged up, the Browns may just see who is best to start going forward. We think Kessler could get one more week as the starter.

CHI - Chicago not addressing QB situation

Source: Chicago Bears Radio Network - Zach Zaidman

Bears QB Brian Hoyer threw for over 300 yards for the third time in as many starts in a Week 5 loss to the Indianapolis Colts, but head coach John Fox refused to speculate on his quarterback's job status going forward because Jay Cutler (thumb) 'is not healthy'.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

AS of right now, it looks like this is Hoyer's job to lose. Fox likes to keep things close to the vest, so nobody should be sure of what's to come with the Bears. Hoyer should stick as the starter with the way that he's been playing.

CLE - QB Cody Kessler OK

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Updating earlier reports, Cleveland Browns QB Cody Kessler (ribs) checked out OK, and he's expected to play in Week 6 against the Tennessee Titans.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Good news for the rookie QB here. That means Charlie Whitehurst will go back to holding a clipboard as the backup behind Kessler.

MIA - QB Ryan Tannehill remaining the starter

Source: The Miami Herald - Armando Salguero

Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill will remain the starter for the rest of the season, according to head coach Adam Gase.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The fact that we're even having that question shows you just how bad things are for Miami. Tannehill is not thriving under Gase, and the team might have to make a change -- either at QB or with their head coach.

DEN - QB Trevor Siemian likely back for Week 6

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) is expected back for the Week 6 game Thursday, Oct. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Siemian was close to playing in Week 5 against the Falcons, but the team chose to shut him down. On a short week (the Broncos travel to San Diego for Thursday Night Football), Siemian should be rested up and ready to go.

    Wednesday Update

SF - QB Colin Kaepernick to start Week 6

    Source: 49ers.com - Taylor Price

San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick has been named the starter for Week 6 against the Buffalo Bills due to what head coach Chip Kelly called 'a football decision'. He replaces Blaine Gabbert.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

On paper, Kaepernick looks like a good fit for the Kelly offense because of his athleticism and ability to make plays outside the pocket. We're not sure who he will favor as a target, but guys like Jeremy Kerley and Vance McDonald (when healthy) could get more looks.

ARI - QB Carson Palmer clears concussion protocol

    Source: AZCardinals.com

Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer (concussion) cleared the concussion protocol Tuesday, Oct. 11, and he will return to practice Wednesday, Oct. 12.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

All signs were pointing to Palmer being back. The team plays the Jets at home on Monday night, and Palmer could easily put up QB1 numbers.

CLE - Cleveland hopeful for QB Cody Kessler

Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot

There is hope that Cleveland Browns QB Cody Kessler (ribs) will still be able to play in Week 6 against the Tennessee Titans despite QB Kevin Hogan being promoted from the practice squad.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Kessler seems on track to play this week. Rib injuries often come down to pain tolerance. They'll get a flak jacket on the rookie QB and likely send him out there against the Titans in Week 6.

DEN - QB Trevor Siemian optimistic

Source: The Denver Post - Troy E. Renck

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) said he expects to play against the San Diego Chargers Thursday, Oct. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Siemian was very close to playing on Sunday against the Falcons. Instead, rookie first-round pick Paxton Lynch played and struggled in Week 5. The Broncos have a short week as they travel to face the Chargers in Week 6, and we're expecting Siemian to be back on the field.

DET - RB Justin Forsett signing with Detroit

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Free-agent RB Justin Forsett (Ravens) is signing an undisclosed deal with the Detroit Lions Tuesday, Oct. 11, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Lions have Theo Riddick as their top back, and he's a fine receiver out of the backfield who can work well in space. Forsett now gives them better veteran depth behind Riddick. It will be interesting to see how he mixes in as a runner/receiver for the Lions, but we're not predicting much fantasy value here for the veteran.

CAR - QB Cam Newton making progress

Source: The Charlotte Observer - Joseph Person

Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton (concussion) participated in some football specific drills Monday, Oct. 10.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Panthers struggled without Newton on Monday night against the Bucs. They won't rush him back, but we think Newton could play on Sunday at the Saints.

DAL - WR Dez Bryant unlikely for Week 6

Source: The Dallas Morning News - Brandon George

Updating an earlier report, Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (knee) is unlikely to return in Week 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bryant will continue to recover from the bone bruise on his knee, and the Cowboys will continue to lean on other targets in the offense. Guys like Cole Beasley and Terrance Williams should get more looks with Bryant out again.

DAL - QB Tony Romo has healed

    Source: ESPNDallas.com - Todd Archer

Updating an earlier report, Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo (back) has been told by doctors that his vertebra has healed and should be as strong or stronger than it was before the injury. Romo is now focused on conditioning.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Romo is set to return in Week 8, but the Cowboys will have an interesting predicament on their hands if rookie Dak Prescott continues to play at a high level. Many feel Romo deserves to be the starter when healthy, but there have been multiple examples in the past of guys losing their jobs to injury. Prescott has the team playing well, and the Cowboys may not want to disrupt that chemistry.

OAK - Coach hopes RB Latavius Murray plays

Source: San Jose Mercury News - Jimmy Durkin

Oakland Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio said he hopes RB Latavius Murray (toe) will be able to play in Week 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Raiders had a split backfield last week with rookies Jalen Richard and DeAndre Washington filling in for Murray. The team could turn back to those two rookies if Murray misses another game.

IND - QB Andrew Luck on pace to take 64 sacks

Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Michael David Smith

Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck was sacked five times in Week 5 versus the Chicago Bears after absorbing six sacks against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 4. He has been sacked a NFL-high 20 times, putting him on pace for 64 - a total which would be the fourth-highest single-season mark in league history.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Colts simply have not done enough to protect their young superstar QB. His season was cut short last year due to injury, and they need to make sure that doesn't happen again. Luck is a great player, but it's difficult to make plays when you're on your back.

WAS - Rob Kelley deserving of more work

    Source: CSNMidAtlantic.com - JP Finlay

Washington Redskins RB Rob Kelley has earned the right to get more work in the backfield, according to head coach Jay Gruden.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'd like to see more work for the rookie. Kelley is a swift runner who does a good job of maintaining his feet after contact. We'll see if he can cut into the workload for starter Matt Jones.

CLE - WR Andrew Hawkins plays more

    Source: USA TODAY Fantasy Sports

Cleveland Browns WR Andrew Hawkins saw his offensive snaps increase from 75 percent in Week 4 to 86 percent in Week 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hawkins was able to get into the end zone, but we're not rushing out to pick him up in fantasy leagues. He'll be targeted about four times per game, even when Corey Coleman gets back onto the field for the Browns.

PIT - More snaps for WR Markus Wheaton

    Source: USA TODAY Fantasy Sports

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Markus Wheaton saw his offensive snaps increase from 36 percent in Week 4 to 64 percent in Week 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The increase in snaps didn't lead to more production. Wheaton has fallen behind Sammie Coates in the pecking order, so dump Wheaton and pick up Coates if you can. With Le'Veon Bell back, the Steelers offense is humming but Wheaton isn't a big (or consistent) part of what they do.

WAS - RB Matt Jones showing improvement

    Source: Redskins.com

Washington Redskins RB Matt Jones is averaging 4.1 yards per carry through the first five games of the season compared to his 3.4 mark during 2015.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jones is showing improvement, but not enough to trust him as anything more than a low-end RB2 flex on a weekly basis.

DET - RB Dwayne Washington expected back this week

Source: Detroit Free Press - Dave Birkett

Detroit Lions RB Dwayne Washington (ankle) is expected to return for the Week 6 game against the Los Angeles Rams Sunday, Oct. 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Lions backfield became more crowded with the addition of Justin Forsett on Tuesday. Washington is the power back for the Lions, but his workload might be small with Theo Riddick dominating the touches. Forsett is likely to cut into Washington's playing time as well.

DEN - RB Devontae Booker nearly splits snaps

    Source: USA TODAY Fantasy Sports

Denver Broncos RB Devontae Booker received 29 offensive snaps in Week 5 compared to 36 snaps for RB C.J. Anderson.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Booker needs to be added as Denver moves towards more of a RBBC. Anderson and Booker have not done much on the ground with RT Donald Stephenson and TE Virgil Green (a great blocker) out the last three weeks. Those two should be back this week, and when the Broncos get their rushing attack on track the production will be there for both backs.

PIT - RB DeAngelo Williams dealing with knee injury

Source: Pittsburgh Post-Gazette - Ed Bouchette

Pittsburgh Steelers RB DeAngelo Williams (knee) was among the injured players head coach Mike Tomlin discussed with the media Tuesday, Oct. 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Don't shut down Williams just yet. He's a lottery ticket back who could be gold if Le'Veon Bell goes down with an injury. Williams is banged up now, and his role is pretty small with Bell back. In shallow leagues, you'll have little choice but to drop him if you need help at the position.

DEN - TE Virgil Green could return in Week 6

Source: Denver7 Sports - Troy Renck

Denver Broncos TE Virgil Green (calf) hasn't played since Week 2, but he is nearing a return ahead of the team's Week 6 game versus the San Diego Chargers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Green is going to help the passing game as the TEs have done next to nothing while he's been out. His return should also help jump-start the rushing attack which has been stuck in neutral since Green (and RT Donald Stephenson) have been out.

MIN - Jake Long signs with Vikings

Source: USA TODAY Sports - Tom Pelissero

Free-agent OT Jake Long (Falcons) signed a one-year deal with the Minnesota Vikings Tuesday, Oct. 11, after passing a physical. Financial terms weren't disclosed.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Vikings have lost both starting tackles, so they needed to add better depth and that's why they get Long here. He's going to serve as a reserve behind starting LT T.J. Clemmings and RT Jeremiah Sirles.

One of Cowboys pass rushers need to take a shot at Tonys back or ribs in practice. Only way that bonehead Jones will stick with Dak.

He is, he made Jay Cutler look quasi-respectable last year. Maybe Tannehill is just THAT bad?

    Thursday Update

NYJ - WR Eric Decker to IR

Source: New York Post - Brian Costello

New York Jets WR Eric Decker (shoulder) will be placed on the Reserve/Injured list Wednesday, Oct. 12, with a partially torn rotator cuff.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Decker is going to have season-ending surgery to repair this injury. The Jets will use more of Quincy Enunwa and maybe Robby Anderson in Decker's absence.

CAR - QB Cam Newton limited

    Source: NFL
Updating a previous report, Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton (concussion) was limited during practice Wednesday, Oct. 12.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Newton should be back on the field for the Panthers. They take on a weak Saints defense, so the Carolina offense could be in for a bounce-back week.

DAL - WR Dez Bryant listed as limited

    Source: DallasCowboys.com

Updating a previous report, Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (knee) was limited during practice Wednesday, Oct. 12.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bryant has been close to returning, but the Cowboys are wisely being cautious with him. If he doesn't play, then we'll see more of Terrance Williams and Cole Beasley against the Packers in Week 6.

KC - RB Jamaal Charles ready for more work

    Source: Chiefs.com - B.J. Kissel

Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (knee) said he is just as fast as he was before he suffered his knee injury and is ready for more work against the Oakland Raiders in Week 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy owners need to take note here. The Chiefs had a bye last week, and now they travel to play the Raiders in Week 6. Charles could put up RB2 numbers (at least) now that he's healthy and will likely have a larger role.

Updating previous reports, Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) is expected to start Thursday, Oct. 13, in Week 6, barring an unforeseen setback.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Siemian missed last week's game against the Falcons, and the Broncos were beat for the first time this year. The second-year QB has played better than some were expecting, and that trend could continue against the Chargers on Thursday night. He's a QB2 for fantasy owners in Week 6.

NE - TE Rob Gronkowski limited

    Source: NFL

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (hamstring) was limited during practice Wednesday, Oct. 12.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

With Tom Brady back, Gronkowski played like we're used to seeing him perform. Expect that to continue this week against the Bengals.

SF - QB Colin Kaepernick restructures deal

Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter and Adam Caplan

San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick has agreed to a restructured contract that will eliminate the final four years of his contract and make him an unrestricted free agent after the season if he does not pick up the one-year player option, according to sources.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Kaepernick's salary for 2016 remains the same, and the 49ers will not be allowed to use the franchise tag if he decides to become a free agent. We're finally going to see Kaepernick back in the starting lineup, and his play over the rest of the season will determine whether or not he wants to stay with the 49ers or pursue another starting job elsewhere.

Cleveland Browns QB Josh McCown (shoulder) was limited during practice Wednesday, Oct. 12.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

McCown is close to returning to the field, but it may not be this week. Expect him back in a week or two. In the meantime, Cody Kessler will continue to start.

WAS - TE Jordan Reed may have concussion

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (concussion) is being evaluated for a concussion after experiencing symptoms Tuesday, Oct. 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This is bad news...especially for a player with a long history of concussions like Reed. If you were planning on starting him at TE, make other plans just in case he doesn't play. We should have a better idea about his availability on Friday.

BAL - WR Steve Smith unlikely for Week 6

    Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley

Updating previous reports, Baltimore Ravens WR Steve Smith (ankle) is unlikely to play in Week 6, in the opinion of beat writer Jamison Hensley. Hensley expressed the doubt in an interview on Sirius XM Fantasy radio Wednesday, Oct. 12.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Keep an eye on his practice status this Friday, but don't expect the veteran to be ready. That means we could see more from Mike Wallace, and it might give a few more looks to guys like Kamar Aiken or Breshad Perriman.

PIT - RB Karlos Williams signed by PIT

    Source: Steelers.com

Free-agent RB Karlos Williams (Bills) was signed to the Pittsburgh Steelers' practice squad Wednesday, Oct. 12.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

An interesting move for the Steelers here. Williams' brother Vince also plays for the team, and on the practice squad the Steelers will be able to develop the young RB. Williams has talent if he is healthy, not suspended and focused. There's a chance he could work his way up to be Le'Veon Bell's backup in 2017.

Buffalo Bills WR Sammy Watkins (foot) was advised rest and rehab and won't require surgery for his foot injury.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Good news for the young wideout here. Watkins could return later in the season if things check out with his foot. In the meantime, we'll see larger roles for WR Robert Woods and TE Charles Clay with Watkins out.

KC - RB Charcandrick West practices in full

    Source: NFL

Kansas City Chiefs RB Charcandrick West (ankle) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Oct. 12.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

West should be back this week....but we should see more Jamaal Charles after the team's bye. The only way West sees the field for significant snaps is if Charles goes down with an injury.

CHI - WR Alshon Jeffery listed as questionable

    Source: NFL

Chicago Bears WR Alshon Jeffery (hamstring) was limited during practice Wednesday, Oct. 12.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jeffery is not quite himself, but he's capable of exploding for a big game at any moment. Monitor his practice status, but consider him a WR2 in Week 6.

JAX - TE Julius Thomas takes part in practice

    Source: NFL

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Julius Thomas (elbow) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Oct. 12.

Thomas should play this week, and he's worth considering as a low-end TE1.

NE - TE Martellus Bennett limited

    Source: NFL

New England Patriots TE Martellus Bennett (ankle) was limited during practice Wednesday, Oct. 12.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bennett is a TE1 this week against the Bengals...and from every week here on out. With Tom Brady back, the Patriots are likely to dominate teams through the air.

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (non-injury) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 12.

DEN - TE Virgil Green ready to play

    Source: DenverBroncos.com

Denver Broncos TE Virgil Green (calf) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Oct. 12, and is not on the injury report for Week 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Green being back will help the Broncos offense. It could really help their struggling rushing attack as Green is a fine blocker. Green may catch 3-5 passes with perhaps a TD mixed in against the Chargers on Thursday night.

NYG - RB Rashad Jennings limited again

    Source: Giants.com

New York Giants RB Rashad Jennings (thumb) was limited during practice Wednesday, Oct. 12.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Giants aren't built to run the ball, and you can't have much success against the Ravens on the ground. Even if Jennings plays, we'd find other options in Week 6.

CIN - RB Jeremy Hill practicing

    Source: ESPN.com - Katherine Terrell

Cincinnati Bengals RB Jeremy Hill (shoulder) is participating in limited practice Wednesday, Oct. 12.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Bengals could try to aid their defense by running the ball with Hill and keeping Tom Brady cold on the sideline. Good luck with that....and good luck with Hill as he's just a RB3/flex play in Week 6.

CIN - TE Tyler Eifert remains out

Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert (ankle, back) is not participating in practice Wednesday, Oct. 12.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Bengals travel to play the Patriots in Week 6. It would do them a lot of good to have Eifert back in action. At this time, it looks like Eifert may miss another game. Stay tuned for his injury status on Friday.

ARI - QB Carson Palmer on practice field

    Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban

Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer (concussion) is participating in practice Wednesday, Oct. 12.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Palmer is back in action this week for the Cardinals. They should have a strong passing attack against a banged up Jets secondary on Monday night. Consider Palmer a low-end QB1.

MIA - RB Arian Foster expected to play

Source: The Miami Herald - Armando Salguero

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (groin) is expected to play in Week 6 and will work more in practice Wednesday, Oct. 12.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Foster's return isn't all that exciting as the Dolphins are not built to run the ball. Against the Steelers, Foster should be the lead back and put up low-end RB2 numbers. He's a flex play in our view, and you likely have better options.

BAL - WR Mike Wallace expected to go

    Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley
Updating previous reports, Baltimore Ravens WR Mike Wallace (ribs) is expected to play in Week 6, in the opinion of beat writer Jamison Hensley. Hensley expressed the optimism in an interview on Sirius XM Fantasy radio Wednesday, Oct. 12.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Ravens will have a new-look offense now that OC Marc Trestman has been fired. They should run the ball more, and that should set up more deep shots for guys like Wallace. We like Wallace as a WR3/flex play against the Giants in Week 6.

    Friday Update

CAR - QB Cam Newton practices in full

    Source: Panthers.com

Updating a previous report, Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton (concussion) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This is a great matchup to get healthy against. The Saints defense is awful, ranked 29th in the NFL and averaging 301.2 net passing yards allowed per game. It's also let up five passing touchdowns with only one interception. We see Newton as one of the stronger QB1 plays this week.

WAS - TE Jordan Reed has a concussion

    Source: Redskins.com

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (concussion) has been diagnosed with a concussion and is going through the concussion protocol, according to head coach Jay Gruden. Gruden said Reed has not been ruled out for Week 6 at this point.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We're ruling him out. It's Thursday and he hasn't practiced which while not 100 percent sure sign he won't play is pretty darn close. Washington should not mess with the guy by rushing him back after his fifth concussion.

NYG - RB Rashad Jennings expects to play

    Source: Newsday - Bob Glauber

New York Giants RB Rashad Jennings (thumb) said he expects to play against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The run game has been brutal for the Giants, so Jennings will get a chance to perform if he's ready to go. We could see RB3 numbers from him even in a tough matchup against Baltimore.

CAR - RB Jonathan Stewart thinks he will play

Source: The Associated Press - Steve Reed

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (hamstring) said he expects to play against the New Orleans Saints in Week 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If he's ready to go we expect low-end RB2 numbers against the Saints this week. It will be interesting to see how Cameron Artis-Payne gets worked in since he looked solid last week. We're leery of starting him if Stewart is in but will watch closely.

CLE - QB Cody Kessler practices in full

    Source: ClevelandBrowns.com

Cleveland Browns QB Cody Kessler (chest, ribs) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 13. Head coach Hue Jackson said he believes Kessler is ready to play in Week 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Kessler will go, but we wouldn't start him over virtually any other quarterback playing this weekend. Avoid him.

Indianapolis Colts WR T.Y. Hilton (hip) returned to practice Thursday, Oct. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We expect Hilton to have a great day against Houston, and recommend him as a solid WR1, and a reasonably priced option on DFS sites.

CIN - WR A.J. Green returns to practice

    Source: Bengals.com - Geoff Hobson

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (calf) returned to practice Thursday, Oct. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Green will be good to go this weekend, and a WR1 despite the matchup with the New England Patriots. He might even see better than average numbers as we believe the Bengals could be playing a lot of catch-up.

SF - WR Jeremy Kerley still limited

    Source: CSNBayArea.com - Matt Maiocco

San Francisco 49ers WR Jeremy Kerley (ankle) was a limited participant in practice Thursday, Oct. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We have no idea what Kerley's chemistry with Colin Kaepernick is and frankly, we have no idea what to expect from Kaepernick anyway. Don't risk Kerley this week as anything more than the Hailest of Hail Mary plays.

KC - RB Charcandrick West fully practices

    Source: NFL

Kansas City Chiefs RB Charcandrick West (ankle) participated fully in practice Thursday, Oct. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

West is back after the team's bye, but he may not touch the ball much. Starter Jamaal Charles is healthy and ready for a large role.

ARI - Full practice for QB Carson Palmer

    Source: AZCardinals.com

Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer (concussion) participated fully in practice Thursday, Oct. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Jets pass defense is a mess and they are traveling across country - something that never works out for them. We like this matchup a lot for Palmer and feel he should produce solid QB2 numbers this week.

HOU - WR Will Fuller limited in practice again

    Source: NFLMedia.com

Houston Texans WR Will Fuller (hamstring) was limited in practice again Thursday, Oct. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fuller has cooled off after a fast start, and he'll struggle as Brock Osweiler does- against any good defense. This matchup against the Colts is not one of those, and we see him as a high upside WR3.

NYJ - RB Matt Forte full go Thursday

    Source: NewYorkJets.com

New York Jets RB Matt Forte (knee) put in a full practice Thursday, Oct. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Forte's use the last few weeks is baffling, especially in the lack of targets. Until we see a change he's no more than an RB3, even a borderline RB4.

NYJ - WR Quincy Enunwa not limited

    Source: NewYorkJets.com

New York Jets WR Quincy Enunwa (knee) participated fully in practice Thursday, Oct. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Even though he will see more targets with Eric Decker out, Enunwa is just a WR3/WR4 play. He gets yards but has just one touchdown this year, and that limits his upside.

NYJ - WR Brandon Marshall has full practice

    Source: NewYorkJets.com

New York Jets WR Brandon Marshall (foot) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Oct. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's not a great matchup but with Eric Decker out, Brandon Marshall will get a ton of opportunity and he's hard to stop. We see him putting up WR2 numbers this week even against Arizona.

PIT - WR Markus Wheaton misses practice

Source: Washington Observer-Reporter - Dale Lolley

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Markus Wheaton (shoulder) did not practice Thursday, Oct. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We don't think we'll see Wheaton this weekend, leaving Antonio Brown (WR1) and Sammie Coates (WR3) as your receiving options against a bad Miami secondary.

GB - RB James Starks sidelined again

    Source: Packers.com

Green Bay Packers RB James Starks (knee) did not practice Thursday, Oct. 13.

GB - RB Eddie Lacy limited

    Source: Packers.com

Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy (ankle) was limited in practice Thursday, Oct. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Lacy should be full go this week and the team is talking about using him more. We'll believe that when we see it, but consider him a solid RB2 this weekend against Dallas.

GB - Limited practice for WR Randall Cobb

    Source: Packers.com

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (neck) was limited in practice Thursday, Oct. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cobb has not been himself this season and as much as we expect it to turn around at some point, we can't count on it. So he's a WR3 against Dallas until he shows us more of that old flash and dash.

PIT - WR Sammie Coates doesn't practice

Source: Washington Observer-Reporter - Dale Lolley

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Sammie Coates (finger) did not practice Thursday, Oct. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We're pretty sure Coates is playing, and it's a nice matchup against a poor Miami secondary. He's inconsistent but we like him as a WR3 this week.

MIA - RB Arian Foster still limited

Source: The Miami Herald - Adam H. Beasley

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (hamstring) was limited in practice Thursday, Oct. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Dolphins backfield is a complete mess, and if Foster plays - no certainty - he won't get the share of carries he did previously, which leaves him as a low-upside RB3.

CAR - WR Kelvin Benjamin listed as limited

    Source: Panthers.com

Carolina Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin (knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's a great matchup for a bounce-back week, with Benjamin going up against a bad Saints secondary and Cam Newton probably back under center. Benjamin might finally fulfill that WR2 promise he had preseason and that's where we have him rated.

JAX - TE Julius Thomas practices Thursday

    Source: Jaguars.com

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Julius Thomas (elbow) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Thomas has been out since Week 3, and it could take a minute to sync up with Blake Bortles. We still see him as a high-end TE2 with upside this week against Chicago.

CHI - WR Eddie Royal misses practice

Chicago Bears WR Eddie Royal (calf) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Royal is, as always, completely hit or miss. Even against Jacksonville he's not a stable option and we mark him as a WR5.

Detroit Lions RB Dwayne Washington (ankle) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We're not sure how big a role Washington will have considering he also has Justin Forsett to compete along with Theo Riddick. We'd use Washington as no more than an RB5 or so.

DET - TE Eric Ebron not on the field

Detroit Lions TE Eric Ebron (ankle, knee) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We're thinking he either won't play or will be used sparingly this weekend so unless he practices fully tomorrow, don't count on him.

DET - RB Theo Riddick remains sidelined

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (ankle) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Riddick is in a full RBBC, and gets most of his value from receptions. We have him as a low-end RB3 this week against the Rams.

BAL - WR Steve Smith sits out again

Baltimore Ravens WR Steve Smith (ankle) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Everyone takes a half step up here if Smith doesn't play (and it seems like he will not). Mike Wallace becomes a WR3, but Kamar Aiken and Breshard Perriman's moves to WR6 can be considered negligible.

CIN - TE Tyler Eifert remains out

Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert (back) is out of practice Thursday, Oct. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Bengals could really use him as they are definitely struggling due to the absence of weapons other than AJ Green. It looks like it's at least another week though, and with back issues he could still be hampered even when he's on the field.

BAL - WR Mike Wallace limited again

Baltimore Ravens WR Mike Wallace (ribs) remains in a non-contact jersey in practice Thursday, Oct. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Giants secondary is a good matchup, but Wallace's injury will ease back the throttle on our enthusiasm. He's a decent WR3/WR4 this week despite the matchup.

    Saturday Update

NE - TE Rob Gronkowski questionable for Week 6

Source: Boston Herald - Jeff Howe

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (illness, hamstring) has been listed as questionable for Week 6 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's worrisome that Gronkowski missed practice this week with an illness. But most expect him to play as he has resumed his place in the elite tight end tier against Cincinnati this week.

CAR - QB Cam Newton on track to play

    Source: ESPN.com - David Newton

Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton (concussion) is expected to be cleared from the concussion protocol and start in Week 6. He's practicing Friday, Oct. 14, for the third straight day.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Newton didn't return last week despite having an extra day to recover from his concussion. A second concussion this year could be worrisome, but this week Newton is still an elite QB1 against the weak Saints defense.

CIN - TE Tyler Eifert ruled out vs. New England

    Source: NBCSports.com

Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert (back) has been ruled out for the team's Week 6 contest Sunday, Oct. 16, versus the New England Patriots.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Eifert might not be back in Week 7 at this rate, and once we get to Week 8, the Bengals bye will be coming up in a week. It's hard to know when he will return, making Eifert a less than essential hold in redraft leagues right now.

MIA - RB Arian Foster to be a game-time decision

Source: The Miami Herald - Barry Jackson

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (hamstring) will be a game-time decision for the team's Week 6 game Sunday, Oct. 16, against the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to head coach Adam Gase.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Foster has some PPR usefulness if he plays Sunday because he will be the lead back on a team that can't run and will likely be playing from behind against the Steelers. If he can't go Jay Ajayi should lead the committee, but there's not much value to be had there without Foster's pass-catching prowess in the mix.

OAK - RB Latavius Murray misses practice again

    Source: CSNCalifornia.com - Scott Bair

Oakland Raiders RB Latavius Murray (toe) remained sidelined at practice Friday, Oct. 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

DeAndre Washington, Jalen Richard, and Jamize Olawale will split the backfield work three ways against the Chiefs. Olawale is the choice for touchdown-only leagues as the likely goal line back. Richard and Washington will get close to the same workload, and Richard is coming in as the hotter back if you need a flex play or emergency RB2.

DAL - WR Dez Bryant uncertain for Week 6

    Source: ESPNDallas.com - Todd Archer

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (knee) will get in a limited practice Friday, Oct. 14. Head coach Jason Garrett told reporters he is 'pleased with (Bryant's) progress' but not so sure Bryant will play Week 6 against the Green Bay Packers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Cowboys bye is up in Week 7 and this is an injury with a return that could benefit from extra time on the sidelines. The Cowboys have high hopes for this season and should have every incentive to hold Bryant out. Terrance Williams and Cole Beasley would be what the heck flex plays if Bryant is out. If Bryant plays, consider him a boom/bust WR3/Flex, although with a late afternoon start, it might difficult to wait on inactives if Bryant's status isn't known Sunday morning.

Indianapolis Colts WR T.Y. Hilton (hip) was a full participant in practice Friday, Oct. 14. He's being listed as questionable for the team's Week 6 contest Sunday, Oct. 16, against the Houston Texans.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hilton has had two of the biggest games of his career in Reliant Stadium. He'll play and he's a great WR1 start this week.

GB - RB James Starks questionable

    Source: Packers.com

Green Bay Packers RB James Starks (knee) did not participate in practice Friday, Oct. 14, and is listed as questionable for Week 6. The Packers did not practice Friday, so this is an estimation.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Starks is less likely to play than Eddie Lacy by most estimations. If the Packers call up practice squad back Don Jackson, take it as a sign that Starks will be out Sunday.

    Source: Packers.com

Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy (ankle) was limited during practice Friday, Oct. 14, and is listed as questionable for Week 6. The Packers did not practice Friday, so this is an estimation.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Lacy is expected to play by just about everyone but himself. If the Packers don't call up practice squad RB Don Jackson before Sunday's game, take it as a good sign that Lacy (and James Starks) will be ready to roll on Sunday with a late afternoon start.

Mathews is still expected to play and a boom/bust RB2 start the Washington run defense that has already allowed seven rushing touchdowns to running backs this year.

BAL - WR Mike Wallace listed as questionable

    Source: NFLMedia.com

Baltimore Ravens WR Mike Wallace (chest) is being listed as questionable for the team's Week 6 game Sunday, Oct. 16, opposite the New York Giants.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Wallace is in line to play and be the #1 wide receiver for the Ravens against the Giants this week. Consider him a high floor PPR WR3/Flex play.

NYG - RB Rashad Jennings intends to play Week 6

    Source: NJ.com - James Kratch

New York Giants RB Rashad Jennings (thumb) is listed as questionable for Week 6 against the Baltimore Ravens but told reporters Thursday, Oct. 13, that 'we're rocking this week' after missing the last three games.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Jennings is still only a desperation play with the Ravens tough run defense and Bobby Rainey handling a lot of the passing game work.

DEN - WR Emmanuel Sanders expected to be OK

    Source: 9News.com - Mike Klis

Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders (hip) missed the final few plays of his team's Week 6 loss to the San Diego Chargers on Thursday, Oct. 13, but he is reportedly dealing with only a bruise and expected to be 'fine' moving forward.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Sanders will get extra rest before the Week 7 game before Houston. He appears to be the team's #1 receiver in terms of targets and he is arguably worth as much as Demaryius Thomas, if not more.

PIT - WR Sammie Coates iffy for Week 6

    Source: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Sammie Coates (hand) was able to catch passes with his lacerated hand Friday, Oct. 14, but he is listed as questionable for Week 6 versus the Miami Dolphins.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Coates is going to play according to Steelers beat writer Mark Kaboly. He's a high ceiling WR3/Flex in a terrific matchup, although he also has a low floor. If Coates can put together two big games in a row, his stock is going to spike in dynasty and redraft leagues alike.

BAL - WR Steve Smith misses practice Friday

    Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley

Baltimore Ravens WR Steve Smith (ankle) sat out of practice again Friday, Oct. 14, and has yet to practice this week as the team continues to prepare for its Week 6 showdown with the New York Giants.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Mike Wallace should be the de facto #1 against the Giants with Dennis Pitta also possibly getting more targets. Terrance West is setting up as the centerpiece of the new balanced offense. Baltimore's bye is in Week 8, so we might not see Smith until Week 9.

CLE - QB Josh McCown ruled out for Week 6

Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot

Cleveland Browns QB Josh McCown (shoulder) will not play in Week 6 against the Tennessee Titans. Cody Kessler will get another start, while fellow rookie Kevin Hogan will serve as his backup.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

McCown is close and could get the start next week at Cincinnati. Rookie WR sensation Corey Coleman could also return soon and make the Cleveland offense more potent. If McCown can stay healthy, the talent in the passing game and high-scoring game scripts created by a poor defense could make him a good streaming option.

DET - TE Eric Ebron sits

Source: Detroit Free Press - Dave Birkett

Detroit Lions TE Eric Ebron (ankle, knee) is out of practice Friday, Oct. 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ebron is not going to play this week. Golden Tate and Anquan Boldin get a bump this week with Ebron and Theo Riddick likely out, giving them a greater target share in this pass-heavy offense.

DET - RB Theo Riddick out again Friday

Source: Detroit Free Press - Dave Birkett

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (ankle) is out of practice Friday, Oct. 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Riddick could play on Sunday vs. the Rams, but right now that appears to be highly unlikely. Dwayne Washington practiced today, so he should be back in the lineup, but he'll split work with Zach Zenner and possibly Justin Forsett in an ineffective running game, so he's not an advisable Week 6 play.

CAR - RB Jonathan Stewart practicing Friday

    Source: Black and Blue Review

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (hamstring) is practicing Friday, Oct. 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Stewart will return this week and he has a chance to notch a score or two in what should be a high-scoring game as long as Cam Newton doesn't take all of the goal-line running opportunities.

CAR - WR Kelvin Benjamin back at practice

    Source: Black and Blue Review

Carolina Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin (knee) returned to practice Friday, Oct. 14, after a maintenance day.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Benjamin has a choice matchup against the Saints and should be in lineups as a high ceiling WR2.

NE - RB James White expected to be involved

Source: Boston Herald - Jeff Howe

New England Patriots RB James White is expected to be a steady contributor the rest of the season, in the opinion of beat writer Jeff Howe.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

White is a perpetual PPR flex with some touchdown and matchup upside. Dion Lewis could be back soon to cut into his role, so White isn't an essential hold, but he can help with bye weeks and injuries.

    Monday Update

PIT - QB Ben Roethlisberger To Have Knee Surgery

Source: Pittsburgh Post-Gazette - Ron Cook

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has a torn meniscus in left knee and will have surgery Monday morning. No timetable for his return.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Terrible news for Pittsburgh. Landry Jones will start in Roethlisberger's absence. Our Dr. Jene Bramel reports his return will be dependent on whether they do a meniscus removal (short absence) vs a repair (likely season-ending). We'll hopefully know more Monday.

BUF - RB LeSean McCoy scores three TDs

    Source: NFL.com

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy rushed for 140 yards and three touchdowns on 19 carries against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

McCoy even left the game briefly with an injury. The 49ers poor rush defense might be the easiest matchup to exploit in the whole league. Next week, Doug Martin and the Bucs get to enjoy that one. McCoy goes to Miami to face a run defense that usually has problems and he should be an RB1 start for the Bills coming off of a four-game winning streak.

GB - RB James Starks undergoes surgery

    Source: FOXSports.com - Jay Glazer

Green Bay Packers RB James Starks (knee) underwent knee surgery Sunday, Oct. 16, and will miss several weeks.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Packers only have one healthy running back on the roster, but they did not make a corresponding move at the position this week. Look for a move next week, possibly calling rookie UDFA Don Jackson up off of the practice squad.

LA - WR Kenny Britt posts big stat line

    Source: The Associated Press

Los Angeles Rams WR Kenny Britt hauled in seven receptions for 136 yards and two touchdowns in the Week 6 game against the Detroit Lions. He was targeted eight times.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Britt isn't quite the potentially dominant physical wide receiver he was before his ACL tear, but he is playing with more consistency and strength running after the catch. He is a high floor WR3/Flex with surging value in nonPPR leagues.

LA - RB Todd Gurley underwhelming again

    Source: The Associated Press

Los Angeles Rams RB Todd Gurley ran 14 times for just 58 yards in the Week 6 game against the Detroit Lions, and he added four receptions for 39 yards on his only four receptions.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gurley was stuffed on a fourth and goal and Case Keenum was strong in the passing game to finish drives with passes instead of runs. The good news for Gurley owners is that the passing game is showing signs of life to help take some pressure off of him, and he continued to be involved in the passing game even though Benny Cunningham returned this week.

LA - QB Case Keenum efficient in loss

    Source: The Associated Press

Los Angeles Rams QB Case Keenum completed 27 of his 32 pass attempts for 321 yards, three touchdowns and one interception in the Week 6 game against the Detroit Lions. He also ran three times for seven yards and a touchdown. He completed a franchise-record 19 straight passes in the loss.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Keenum was about as good as he has been in his entire career against the Lions. Kirk Cousins and Washington will get the benefit of this matchup next week, while Keenum will go to London to face the Giants.

CAR - Good outing for QB Cam Newton

    Source: The Associated Press

Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton (concussion) completed 27 of his 47 pass attempts for 322 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in the Week 6 game against the New Orleans Saints. He also ran twice for one yard and a touchdown while also hitting a pass for a successful two-point conversion.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Newton started very slow but was able to manage a strong fantasy game in a grueling comeback effort. He still has the elite QB1 ceiling each week, but Newton is definitely not playing at his best. The Panthers young secondary has created enough high scoring game scripts to keep Newton's fantasy value intact.

CAR - WR Kelvin Benjamin targeted 14 times

    Source: The Associated Press

Carolina Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin (knee) posted eight receptions for 86 yards in the Week 6 game against the New Orleans Saints, and he was targeted 14 times.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Benjamin had a good fantasy game, but he failed to be a difference maker against a weak Saints defense. His promising start to the season has faded to a boom/bust WR2/WR3 scoring profile. If Cam Newton can get right during the bye, Benjamin could start to pick up momentum.

CAR - RB Jonathan Stewart back with a bang

    Source: The Associated Press

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (hamstring) posted 19 carries for 85 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the Week 6 game against the New Orleans Saints. He was targeted once but did not record a catch.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Stewart was strong in his first game back and the Panthers let him finish two drives with his strong short yardage running. The Panthers are going into their bye 1-5, but at least Stewart is healthy and a suitable RB2 start in Week 8 against Arizona.

DET - Matt Stafford sparkles in victory

    Source: The Associated Press

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford completed 23 of his 31 pass attempts for 270 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions in the Week 6 game against the Los Angeles Rams. He also ran five times for 14 yards.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Stafford took advantage of a Rams defense missing Robert Quinn and Trumaine Johnson. Golden Tate had his "get right" game and Stafford was excellent at finishing drives and the game with a long field goal drive. He'll have a good matchup and should remain in the lineup as a QB1 next week.

NO - WR Michael Thomas finds the end zone

    Source: The Associated Press

New Orleans Saints rookie WR Michael Thomas posted five receptions for 78 yards and a touchdown in the Week 6 game against the Carolina Panthers. He was targeted five times.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Thomas had a short score, but he also had two long gains to boost his yards per catch average. The rookie looks very comfortable with Drew Brees and should level off as a high floor WR3/Flex for the rest of the season.

NO - WR Willie Snead very average again

    Source: The Associated Press

New Orleans Saints WR Willie Snead managed four receptions for 47 yards in the Week 6 game against the Carolina Panthers. He was targeted seven times.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Snead seems to be the third receiver coming out of the bye. He admitted his toe wasn't 100% yet, and he is also seeing Coby Fleener take a bigger target share. After a scalding start, Snead is just bye/injury depth going into a matchup at Kansas City.

NO - WR Brandin Cooks has monster game

    Source: The Associated Press

New Orleans Saints WR Brandin Cooks hauled in seven receptions for 173 yards and a touchdown on nine targets in the Week 6 game against the Carolina Panthers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cooks is going to be feast or famine, and this week was a buffet. Cooks got free for a long score and gobbled up targets from Drew Brees against the Panthers young cornerbacks. You know what you're getting in Cooks, a potential week winner or week killer.

NO - RB Mark Ingram has 60 yards from scrimmage

    Source: The Associated Press

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram rushed 16 times for 51 yards in the Week 6 game against the Carolina Panthers, and he added two receptions for nine yards.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ingram couldn't come up bigger in a game that saw the Saints break 40 points. He is still situated for big games if he gets his number called at the goal line and John Kuhn doesn't vulture scores, but this is getting frustrating for his owners. Next week against the Chiefs on the road could be a tough matchup for New Orleans and relegate Ingram to RB2 status.

NO - QB Drew Brees goes over 400 yards

    Source: The Associated Press

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees completed 34 of his 49 pass attempts for 465 yards, four touchdowns and one interception in the Week 6 game against the Carolina Panthers. It was his 15th-career 400-yard passing game in the regular season, breaking a tie with retired QB Peyton Manning.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Brees was money against the Panthers young secondary. He will always be one of our top rated quarterbacks any time he is at home, but next week Brees travels to Kansas City, so he won't be a no brainer start.

BAL - Six receptions for TE Dennis Pitta

    Source: The Associated Press

Baltimore Ravens TE Dennis Pitta rolled up six receptions for 36 yards in the Week 6 game against the New York Giants. He was targeted a team-high 10 times.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Pitta got the boost in targets that was expected when Steve Smith was announced as inactive, but he didn't turn it into any scores or big plays. That's fine for PPR TE streamers, but that's about all Pitta is good for heading into a matchup with San Diego.

BAL - Just three touches for RB Kenneth Dixon

    Source: The Associated Press

Baltimore Ravens RB Kenneth Dixon rushed two times for 11 yards and he added one catch for one yard on two targets in the Week 6 game against the New York Giants.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Dixon is going to run as Terrance West's backup unless West falters or gets hurt. He's still worth a handcuff spot in deeper leagues and Dixon could get more work as he gets healthier, but the window closed on his chance to win the lead back job before he could climb through it.

BAL - RB Terrance West visits end zone twice

    Source: The Associated Press

Baltimore Ravens RB Terrance West rushed 23 times for 87 yards with a pair of touchdowns in the Week 6 game against the New York Giants. He also posted four receptions for 36 yards on six targets.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

West was also stuffed on a fourth and goal he tried to break outside or there was an even bigger day there for him. He's entrenched as a lead back now and should be treated as a strong RB2 against the Chargers next week.

BAL - QB Joe Flacco tops 300-yard mark

    Source: The Associated Press

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco completed 26 of his 48 pass attempts for 307 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in the Week 6 game against the New York Giants.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Flacco was responsible for about 2/3 of the Ravens offensive plays as a passer, but because Terrance West finished both touchdown drives and the Ravens stalled out in the Giants end for three field goals, he didn't have a great fantasy day. Next week brings a middling matchup with surprising Chargers defense.

NYG - Odell Beckham goes bonkers in win

    Source: The Associated Press

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. posted eight receptions for a career-best 222 yards and two touchdowns in the Week 6 game against the Baltimore Ravens. Beckham was targeted 10 times.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Beckham left the game briefly with a hip pointer. His speed was intact after he returned and Beckham was able to make the game-winning play late in the fourth quarter. He's back in our good graces as a WR1 contender every week.

NYG - QB Eli Manning finally has big line

    Source: The Associated Press

New York Giants QB Eli Manning completed 32 of his 46 pass attempts for 403 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions in the Week 6 game against the Baltimore Ravens.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Manning was having a rough day at halftime and only Odell Beckham's huge plays in the second half lit a fire under his fantasy stats. He goes to Los Angeles and has a matchup that could be good, but the Rams defensive line might get healthier. Manning will remain a boom/bust option in Week 7.

CHI - TE Zach Miller catches six passes

    Source: NFL.com

Chicago Bears TE Zach Miller caught six passes for 36 yards against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Miller was kept out of the end zone after scoring three times in Brian Hoyer's first two starts. His momentum is slowing heading into a matchup against Green Bay, and he should be considered a streamer and not an essential hold except in PPR leagues because of Brian Hoyer's high passing volume.

CHI - WR Alshon Jeffery finishes with 93 yards

    Source: NFL.com

Chicago Bears WR Alshon Jeffery caught nine passes for 93 yards against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jeffery had a huge first half against rookie Jalen Ramsey, but Ramsey did a lot better job in the second half, allowing only one catch for three yards. The good news is that Jeffery looks as healthy as he has in weeks and #1 Packers corner Sam Shields was still out with a concussion this week. If Shields can't go next week, Jeffery will be close to WR1 status for Week 7.

CHI - Cameron Meredith plays well in Week 6

    Source: NFL.com

Chicago Bears WR Cameron Meredith caught 11 passes for 113 yards against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Meredith clearly is on the same page with Brian Hoyer, and he caught a flood of target after Eddie Royal went out and Jalen Ramsey improved in the second half on Alshon Jeffery. Meredith will be off of the waiver wire in all leagues after this effort, and he'll be a high floor WR3/flex against the Packers next week, especially in PPR leagues.

TEN - QB Marcus Mariota strong in win

Source: The Associated Press - Teresa M. Walker

Tennessee Titans QB Marcus Mariota threw for 284 yards and three touchdowns in a 28-26 win over the Cleveland Browns Sunday, Oct. 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mariota had one bad pick throwing against his body on the move, but otherwise was able to take advantage of a Browns defense that lacks the personnel to match up against NFL passing games. Mariota has put two good fantasy games in a row together and he might make it three against the Colts next week.

    28. BUF - QB Tyrod Taylor has solid game

Buffalo Bills QB Tyrod Taylor went 17-for-26 for 179 yards and two touchdowns against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 6. He also rushed for 68 yards on eight carries during the game.

Basically, everything works against the 49ers defense. Look for Doug Martin and Jameis Winston to get right against them next week. Taylor remains a boom/bust streaming QB option, with some boom in his profile against a Dolphins defense that looked bad until the Steelers imploded in Miami this week.

PHI - WR Jordan Matthews strong in loss

Source: The Associated Press - Stephen Whyno

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews caught three passes for 75 yards Sunday, Oct. 16, in a 27-20 loss to the Washington Redskins.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Matthews caught a long ball to keep the week from being a total loss, but the relative struggles by Carson Wentz and the Eagles passing game against what was a weak pass defense are troubling. Next week against the Vikings, Matthews would be better off on our benches.

WAS - Solid numbers for RB Matt Jones

Source: The Associated Press - Stephen Whyno

Washington Redskins RB Matt Jones rushed 16 times for 135 yards and a touchdown Sunday, Oct. 16, in a 27-20 win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jones got stronger as the game went on, and finished off the Eagles with a long run. If the Washington running game continues to surge, he'll be a valuable RB2, and he should definitely be in flex consideration against the Lions run defense next week.

PHI - RB Ryan Mathews posts decent numbers

Source: The Associated Press - Stephen Whyno

Philadelphia Eagles RB Ryan Mathews ran nine times for 60 yards in a 27-20 loss to the Washington Redskins on Sunday, Oct. 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mathews was excellent on a per touch basis against the weak Washington run defense, but the Eagles trailed for most of the game which kept the running game from getting on track. Mathews should be on our benches against the Vikings next week.

WAS - Another strong game for QB Kirk Cousins

Source: The Associated Press - Stephen Whyno

Washington Redskins QB Kirk Cousins threw for two touchdowns and 263 yards Sunday, Oct. 16, in a 27-20 win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cousins was better at finishing scoring drives in this game, and he got a lot of help from his running game in a rare occurrence. He'll be a preferred streamer and low QB1 next week against the Lions defense that made Case Keenum look good today.

SF - RB Carlos Hyde misses time with injury

    Source: CSNBayArea.com - Matt Maiocco

San Francisco 49ers RB Carlos Hyde (shoulder) suffered a shoulder injury during the team's Week 6 game but was able to return.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Hyde was a dud but has been able to weather terrible game scripts for most of the season. He's still an RB2 next week against the Bucs. Mike Davis was in for a goal-line series that Hyde missed when he was banged up, or Hyde might not have been a fantasy liability today.

They have no choice but to stick with him, the backups are either worse (Geno Smith) or green (Hackenberg)
