NFL Player News - Week 11

    Courtesy of Footballguys.com

DEN - QB Peyton Manning out

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning (foot) will not play this weekend as he recovers from a partially torn plantar fascia. Furthermore, Manning will not practice this week as he receives treatment. He will be re-evaluated in one week.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This injury might last for some time. A partially torn plantar fascia is more painful than a fully torn one, and the recovery time is usually long. We could see Manning miss significant time due to this foot injury, and that would make Brock Osweiler the starter for most of the rest of the regular season.

    NO - Rob Ryan fired

    Source: FOXSports.com - Alex Marvez

New Orleans Saints defensive coordinator Rob Ryan was fired Monday, Nov. 16, according to two sources.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Nobody should be surprised by this. The Saints "Oprah" defense (you get a TD, you get a TD, EVERYONE gets a TD) was the worst in the league. After getting hammered by Washington on Sunday, something had to change. We'll see if the Saints can play better after their bye in Week 11.

NYG - WR Victor Cruz out for season

    Source: FOXSports.com - Mike Garafolo

New York Giants WR Victor Cruz (calf) announced he's having season-ending surgery on his left calf and will miss the rest of the season.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The knee injury was fine, then Cruz hurt his calf and now he's lost for the season. It's a sad way for Cruz to end this year. We were hoping that somehow/someway we could see a salsa dance or two in 2015.

NE - WR Julian Edelman to have surgery

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman (foot) will have surgery Monday, Nov. 16, to repair a broken bone in his foot, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Edelman could return to the field later in the year, and the Patriots are hopeful he's able to do so. In the meantime, we'll see more from Danny Amendola. He's built similarly to Edelman, and they can both work the underneath routes for Tom Brady. Amendola is a valuable player as we consider him at least a low-end WR2/flex play while Edelman is out.

CLE - Cleveland not ready to name QB

    Source: ESPN.com - Pat McManamon

Cleveland Browns head coach Mike Pettine said he is not ready to say if QB Johnny Manziel or QB Josh McCown will be the starting quarterback. Pettine said the coaching staff will discuss the decision during the bye week.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

What do they have to lose? The Browns aren't going to push for the playoffs, so they might as well see what they have in Manziel. We'll see.

STL - QB Case Keenum named starter

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

St. Louis Rams QB Case Keenum will be the starting quarterback for the Week 11 game against the Baltimore Ravens.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Nick Foles just isn't getting it done. Foles was extended by the Rams earlier this year, and he's got a $8.75 million cap number in 2016 (with $3.7 million in dead money). We'll see if Keenum can inject some life into this bad passing game.

BAL - WR Kamar Aiken heavily targeted

    Source: NFL.com - Chris Wesseling

Baltimore Ravens WR Kamar Aiken was targeted 14 times by QB Joe Flacco on their Week 10 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Just as we anticipated, Aiken is the top receiver for the Ravens with Steve Smith done for the year. Consider him a WR3/flex play going forward, and bump up expectations if we see him get more looks in the red zone.

TEN - WR Dorial Green-Beckham needs to improve

    Source: TitansOnline.com - Jim Wyatt
Tennessee Titans rookie WR Dorial Green-Beckham needs finish his routes, according to head coach Mike Mularkey.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Green-Beckham has amazing natural ability. He's big, fast and physical...plus, the rookie has a large wingspan and can play above the rim. However, he's raw as a route-runner and needs to show more savvy in that area if he ever wants to dominate at a level he's capable of.

CAR - Carolina having success on ground

    Source: NFL.com - Chris Wesseling

The Carolina Panthers and QB Cam Newton have gone 20 straight games with at least 100 yards on the ground.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This should surprise no one as the Panthers are built to win on the ground...and with great defense. Check and check in both of those categories. With the rest of their schedule being on the easy side, the Panthers could finish the year as the top team in the NFC and snare the no1 seed for the playoffs.

MIN - QB Teddy Bridgewater posting mediocre stats

    Source: NFL.com - Marc Sessler

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater has thrown for under 250 yards passing in seven of his nine starts this year after going for just 140 aerial yards against the Oakland Raiders in Week 10. Bridgewater had 22 passing attempts to RB Adrian Peterson's 26 carries against Oakland.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Norv Turner offense isn't going to ask Bridgewater to do a lot. We love him from a football standpoint, but with a fantasy lens Bridgewater is not that attractive an option.

NYJ - QB Ryan Fitzpatrick doesn't practice

    Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Rich Cimini

New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (thumb) didn't practice Monday, Nov. 16, and stayed home three days after having surgery on his left thumb. Head coach Todd Bowles said he's 'hopeful' that Fitzpatrick can practice Wednesday, Nov. 18, and 'hopeful' he will play in Week 11 against the Houston Texans.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bowles isn't sure if Fitzpatrick will start yet, as he wants to see how he looks in practice taking snaps. There's a chance that Fitzpatrick doesn't practice until Friday, Nov. 20, and still starts this weekend.

DAL - QB Tony Romo expected to return in Week 11

    Source: ESPN.com

Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo (clavicle) is expected to be cleared from the short-term Reserve/Injured list Wednesday, Nov. 18, and play in Week 11 against the Miami Dolphins, according to a source. Romo has missed two months with a fractured collarbone. 'Tony's had a good couple of weeks of practice with us,' head coach Jason Garrett said. 'We anticipate him being able to practice this week.'

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Cowboys are just frothing with anticipation for the return of Romo. They need him to spark this 2-7 team in a bad way. We'll see if Romo can lead the Cowboys to something we've never seen before...a 2-7 team making the playoffs.

DEN - WR Emmanuel Sanders injured finger

    Source: DenverBroncos.com - Andrew Mason

Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders (finger) injured his finger in a Week 10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, according to head coach Gary Kubiak. He is still expected to have a normal week, however.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Sanders was roughed up by the Chiefs, but he's tough and should be able to play against the Bears in Week 11. With Brock Osweiler at QB, there's no telling what to expect from the Denver passing game. We'd put Sanders as a low-end WR2/flex option at this time.

TEN - RB David Cobb could play

Source: The Tennessean - John Glennon

Tennessee Titans RB David Cobb (calf) has a chance to play against the Jacksonville Jaguars Thursday, Nov. 19, according to head coach Mike Mularkey.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'd love to see Cobb eventually win the starting job. He reported a bit overweight, but Cobb is the best natural runner on the Titans roster. Cobb is efficient and determined between the tackles. Dynasty owners should be excited about his future, and re-draft owners should add him as a speculative pickup in deeper leagues.

ARI - WR Michael Floyd day-to-day

    Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd (hamstring) is considered day-to-day with a hamstring injury.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Keep an eye on Floyd's status during the week. The Cardinals play against the Bengals on Sunday Night Football in Week 11.

JAX - RB T.J. Yeldon in walking boot

    Source: The Florida Times-Union - Ryan O'Halloran

Updating a previous report, Jacksonville Jaguars RB T.J. Yeldon (foot) was wearing a walking boot Monday, Nov. 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This is never the report you want to hear. Yeldon had done a fine job as the team's starter this year, but this foot injury could slow him down. Toby Gerhart could get a larger role if Yeldon misses time with this injury. The Jaguars are at home against the Titans on Thursday night in Week 11.

PHI - QB Mark Sanchez expected to start this weekend

    Source: NFL.com - Jeremy Bergman

Philadelphia Eagles QB Mark Sanchez is expected to start in Week 11 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in place of QB Sam Bradford (shoulder, concussion).

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Sanchez is a QB2 for fantasy owners. Most of you won't be starting him, but some of you in 2QB/QB-flex leagues will be considering Sanchez against the Bucs.

JAX - WR Allen Hurns may need surgery

    Source: The Florida Times-Union - Ryan O'Halloran

Updating a previous report, Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (hernia) could undergo surgery on his sports hernia, which would keep him out of the lineup for four to six weeks.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hurns has a TD in seven straight games, but the Jaguars are going to do what's right for their budding star receiver. He's been a fantastic find for a franchise who now has a nice collection of weapons on offense. Without Hurns in the lineup, we'd likely see more from Bryan Walters and perhaps even Marqise Lee.

NE - WR Aaron Dobson bumped up depth chart

    Source: ESPNBoston.com - Mike Reiss

New England Patriots WR Aaron Dobson was bumped up the depth chart one spot when WR Julian Edelman (foot) was injured in Week 10.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Dobson doesn't run the same routes that Edelman does, but he should see a bump in targets. We think Danny Amendola is the player to emerge without Edelman. The two are similarly built and can work underneath routes for Tom Brady.

    Wednesday Update

CLE - QB Johnny Manziel named the starter

    Source: FOXSports.com - Jay Glazer

Cleveland Browns QB Johnny Manziel has been named the starter for the rest of the season.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Browns needed to make this happen. They're going nowhere, so starting Josh McCown doesn't make sense. Instead, the team needs to see what Manziel can do in order to make a decision about his future with the team. From a fantasy lens, Manziel is a valuable QB to add. Rushing QBs are always fantasy assets to own and perhaps even start. If Manziel is out there on your waiver wire, spend roughly 20 percent to add him.

NE - WR Julian Edelman out 6-8 weeks

    Source: NFL.com - Gregg Rosenthal

New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman (foot) had a screw inserted into his foot Monday, Nov. 16, and he'll be out six to eight weeks, a source told NFL Network's Albert Breer.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Rush to the waiver wire to get Danny Amendola right now. He'll take over Edelman's role for the next two months or so. Amendola could put up WR1 numbers in PPR leagues every week with this larger opportunity.

CLE - QB Johnny Manziel not punished

    Source: ClevelandBrowns.com

Cleveland Browns QB Johnny Manziel has not been punished following an investigation regarding a domestic incident. Authorities said there was an insufficient basis on which to take disciplinary action.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Manziel is going to be the starter going forward for the Browns. The way he plays will determine whether or not the Browns have to make other plans for their future at quarterback.

HOU - QB Brian Hoyer day-to-day
Source: Houston Chronicle - Aaron Wilson

Houston Texans QB Brian Hoyer (concussion) is in the NFL's concussion protocol and is considered day-to-day, according to head coach Bill O'Brien.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hoyer is now in the league's concussion protocol, and he won't be cleared for football activity until he completes the process. O'Brien is hopeful Hoyer will be able to play this week.

DAL - RB Christine Michael cut

    Source: NFL.com - Ian Rapoport

Dallas Cowboys RB Christine Michael was released Tuesday, Nov. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Well, that's that for Michael's hype train. He's a gifted runner, but there are issues with dedication and focus that have not been improved. If Seattle and Dallas are giving up on him, Michael's days in the NFL are numbered if not almost over. The Cowboys will move forward with Rod Smith and Trey Williams as the primary backups behind starter Darren McFadden.

MIA - RB Lamar Miller on scoring streak

    Source: ESPN.com

Miami Dolphins RB Lamar Miller has scored a touchdown in his last five games, becoming the first Miami player with such a streak since Ricky Williams in 2003. Miller failed to score a touchdown under previous head coach Joe Philbin.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The team has been built around Miller since Dan Campbell took over as the interim head coach. Fantasy owners should consider Miller a RB1 every week.

PIT - WR Antonio Brown not slowing down

    Source: ESPN.com

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown has caught 27 passes for 423 receiving yards and two touchdowns in the last two weeks while catching 73% of the passes thrown to him.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This is what happens with Ben Roethlisberger is on the field. Brown lacked chemistry with Michael Vick, but so long as Roethlisberger is slinging the rock he should maintain this incredible pace.

CAR - QB Cam Newton doing it all

    Source: ESPN.com

Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton has six games this year with at least one passing and one rushing touchdown. No other quarterback in the league has more than two such games this season.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Newton is a big reason why the Panthers are undefeated. His play, coupled with suffocating defense, makes the Panthers a tough opponent when a gamescript goes according to plan.

ATL - WR Julio Jones to draw CB Vontae Davis?

    Source: Colts.com

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones, who has 80 catches and is averaging a league-best 114.3 receiving yards per game, could draw Indianapolis Colts CB Vontae Davis in Week 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That's going to be a great battle to watch. We still believe in Jones as a WR1 for fantasy owners this week.

JAX - Full participation for WR Allen Hurns

    Source: Jaguars.com

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (foot, thigh) practiced in full Tuesday, Nov. 17, after being held out Monday, Nov. 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hurns is one tough cookie. It looks like he's going to be able to play through these injuries. We have him as a WR2 against the Titans this week.

JAX - WR Rashad Greene, WR Marqise Lee practice

    Source: Jaguars.com

Jacksonville Jaguars WRs Rashad Greene (thumb) and Marqise Lee (hamstring) both practiced in full Tuesday, Nov. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We're intrigued by Greene's upside, and we've been disappointed by Lee. Greene was Jameis Winston's favorite target at Florida State last year, while Lee's career has been marred by injury and inconsistency.

OAK - OLB Aldon Smith suspended

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Oakland Raiders LB Aldon Smith has been suspended one year for violating the league's substance-abuse policy.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This suspension was for an "August 28th incident" according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. That specific incident is unknown, but we do know Smith was released by the 49ers for an early-August DUI. He will need to stay on the right path in order to be reinstated next year, but with his history of alcohol-related problems, that may be difficult to do.

BAL - WR Breshad Perriman placed on IR

    Source: BaltimoreRavens.com

Baltimore Ravens rookie WR Breshad Perriman (knee) has been placed on the season-ending Reserve/Injured list.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Damn. We love Perriman's natural ability as a big-play receiver, and we were hoping that we could see him at some point this year. His rookie season is a wash, but dynasty owners should be in love with his upside.

PHI - QB Sam Bradford not in sling

    Source: NFL.com

Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford (shoulder, concussion) was not wearing a sling while watching practice Tuesday, Nov. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That's a good sign for Bradford, but he's still likely to miss a couple of weeks with this injury. That means Mark Sanchez will be the team's leader at quarterback while Bradford is out.

JAX - RB T.J. Yeldon says he'll be fine

    Source: NFL.com

Jacksonville Jaguars RB T.J. Yeldon (foot) is out of his walking boot and says that he'll 'be fine' to play in the Week 11 game against the Tennessee Titans Thursday, Nov. 19, despite not practicing again Tuesday, Nov. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Yeah, we'd feel a lot better about recommending him as a starter if he was practicing. Perhaps on Wednesday or Thursday, Yeldon will be able to get a little work.

SEA - WR Chris Matthews released

    Source: FOXSports.com - Mike Garafolo

Seattle Seahawks WR Chris Matthews was released Tuesday, Nov. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Things change quickly around here. Matthews was a stud in the Super Bowl back in February. He had four catches for 109 yards and a touchdown against the Patriots in that game, but so far this season he only has four catches for 54 yards.

JAX - WR Allen Hurns may need surgery

    Source: The Florida Times-Union - Ryan O'Halloran

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (abdomen) said he may undergo sports hernia surgery after the season.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hurns is showing great toughness playing through this injury. Even though the Jaguars have a short week, Hurns is expected to play on Thursday night against the Titans.

DAL - QB Brandon Weeden cut

    Source: NFL.com

Dallas Cowboys QB Brandon Weeden was released Tuesday, Nov. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

There are enough teams out there desperate at QB who may consider Weeden. A first-round pick by the Browns in 2012, Weeden now finds himself a free agent.

WAS - Gruden wants QB Kirk Cousins signed

Source: The Washington Post - Liz Clarke

Washington Redskins QB Kirk Cousins' recent play has fueled discussions for a contract extension, and head coach Jay Gruden wants the team to sign Cousins. Cousins can become a free agent in the offseason, and there is no evidence that contract talks have taken place thus far.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Assuming his progress continues, Cousins might strike a deal with Washington in the $17 million to $20 million per year range, according to at least one person with NFL front-office experience, given the number of NFL teams seeking a quarterback to build around and the thin pool of prospects.

PHI - RB Ryan Mathews out of practice

    Source: CSNPhilly.com - Reuben Frank

Philadelphia Eagles RB Ryan Mathews (concussion) is out of practice Tuesday, Nov. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mathews will have to go through the concussion protocol before he's cleared to resume football activity.

ATL - WR Roddy White will have chances

    Source: AtlantaFalcons.com - Andrew Hirsh

Atlanta Falcons WR Roddy White remains an 'important part of the team and will continue to get opportunities in the second half of 2015,' according to head coach Dan Quinn.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy owners should have moved on from White as he's struggled to make any sort of impact this season. This sounds more like lip service from Quinn than it does any sort of plan to force-feed White the rock.

STL - QB Nick Foles has guarantees remaining

    Source: ESPN.com - Field Yates

St. Louis Rams QB Nick Foles, who was recently benched, has $7.75 million guaranteed remaining on his deal. His 2016 roster bonus of $6 million became guaranteed Aug. 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Rams extended Foles earlier this year after getting him from the Eagles. That's looking like a mistake now as the team has benched Foles in favor of Case Keenum. We're not expecting a lot from Keenum, so don't be surprised if/when Foles gets his job back.

NYG - WR Hakeem Nicks returning to Giants

    Source: FOXSports.com - Mike Garafolo

Free-agent WR Hakeem Nicks (Titans) will re-sign with the New York Giants, according to sources.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

In deeper leagues you want to monitor Nicks. Going back to the Giants is good for the seasoned veteran. He's not the same player he used to be, so make sure to have a proper level of expectations.

    Thursday Update

DAL - QB Tony Romo feeling great

    Source: ESPNDallas.com - Todd Archer

Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo (collarbone) said his back feels as good now as it did at any time since he had two surgeries on it in 2013. He also added that there is a greater risk in him breaking his collarbone again, and he won't know how it will respond until he's hit.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy owners have been waiting for Romo to return...and so have the Cowboys. We can recommend him as a low-end QB1 in his first week back.

NYJ - QB Ryan Fitzpatrick says he's starting

Source: New York Daily News - Manish Mehta

New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (thumb) said he will start against the Houston Texans in Week 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Texans defense is riding into the week with some momentum after beating the Bengals on Monday night. It's a boost for the Jets to have Fitzpatrick in, but we may have to adjust our low expectations for the Texans defense after the way they played in Week 10.

DEN - QB Peyton Manning's ribs fine

Source: The Denver Post - Troy E. Renck

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning's (ribs, foot) MRI on his injured ribs came back fine, according to head coach Gary Kubiak. Manning's treatment will continue as scheduled this week.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Manning's ribs aren't the biggest problem...it's the partially torn plantar fascia in his left foot. There are many who feel Brock Osweiler could hold onto the starting job if he plays well in the game against Chicago. The team needs to see what Osweiler can do since he's set to hit free agency next year. Also, starting Osweiler for as long as possible would give Manning plenty of time to heal.

CHI - RB Matt Forte, WR Alshon Jeffery limited

    Source: NFL.com - Jeremy Bergman

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte (knee) and WR Alshon Jeffery (groin) were both limited in practice Wednesday, Nov. 18.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jeffery should play, but in a matchup against Aqib Talib fantasy owners should lower expectations. We think he's still worth starting as a WR2 though. Forte has missed the last two games, and the team may decide to give him another week of rest. Jeremy Langford could start again if Forte is out.

GB - RB James Starks draws another start

    Source: Packers.com

Green Bay Packers RB James Starks will start Sunday, Nov. 22, with RB Eddie Lacy 'going second,' according to head coach Mike McCarthy.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Starks let a lot of fantasy owners down last week with an average performance against the Lions. This week, we can only recommend him as a low-end RB2 or flex play in PPR leagues.

TB - WR Vincent Jackson expected out again

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson (knee) is expected to be out once again in Week 11 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That just means more for Mike Evans. He's the lone asset in the Bucs passing game we can trust.

PHI - QB Sam Bradford has separated shoulder

    Source: ESPN - Ed Werder

Updating previous reports, Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford (shoulder, concussion) had an MRI confirm a separated left shoulder Wednesday, Nov. 18. He wants to play in Week 11, but the team will see how he feels later in the week.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mark Sanchez is going to start for the Eagles this week. Depending on Bradford's injury status, Sanchez could be the starter for a few weeks.

DAL - WR Dez Bryant limited Wednesday

Source: The Dallas Morning News - Jon Machota

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (foot, ankle, knee) will be limited in practice Wednesday, Nov. 18, as head coach Jason Garrett said Bryant is dealing with issues with his foot, ankle and knee.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The team is going to take it easy on Bryant this week. They're getting QB Tony Romo back this week, and they need Bryant to try and get in the playoff hunt.

SD - TE Antonio Gates not 100%

Source: The San Diego Union-Tribune - Tom Krasovic

San Diego Chargers TE Antonio Gates (knee) said he's still not up to full speed after spraining his knee 30 days ago. He has looked much less mobile than before the injury, and Gates said it feels as though he's running in mud. He has 10 catches on 16 targets for 125 yards in two games since his injury.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Nobody is 100 percent healthy right now. Gates is unsure when he'll be back to full speed, as he's never dealt with a medial collateral ligament injury in his career.

TB - TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins limited

    Source: NFL

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins (shoulder) was limited in practice Wednesday, Nov. 18.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We've been waiting for Seferian-Jenkins to get back in action. That wait may continue this week. Let's see if he can practice fully later in the week.

ATL - WR Leonard Hankerson ready to return?

    Source: ESPN.com - Vaughn McClure
Atlanta Falcons WR Leonard Hankerson (hamstring), who has missed the last two games, appears ready to return in Week 11 against the Indianapolis Colts. He is fourth on the team with 22 catches for 291 yards and two touchdowns but also leads Atlanta with five drops.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Falcons have dropped three of their last four games. Outside of Julio Jones and Devonta Freeman, there's not a lot of fantasy relevant assets on the offense (Jacob Tamme once in awhile).

MIN - RB Adrian Peterson expected to play

    Source: ESPN.com - Ben Goessling

Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson's (hamstring) injury isn't expected to keep him out in Week 11 against the Green Bay Packers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Start him as you normally would...sit back, and enjoy the week with Peterson as your RB1.

DEN - WR Emmanuel Sanders took day off

    Source: DenverBroncos.com - Andrew Mason

Updating a previous report, Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders (ankle, finger) would have practiced Wednesday, Nov. 18, had the team's practice not been moved indoors on turf due to high winds outside, according to head coach Gary Kubiak. 'We gave him a day off of the turf,' Kubiak said. 'He took all of the walkthrough and everything, so I would expect him to do everything (when he returns).'

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Sanders has been banged up with three injuries over this season. The ankle/finger injuries are the latest to plague the tough--but small--wide receiver. He should be good to go against the Bears. With Brock Osweiler at QB, we can recommend Sanders as a WR2 in Week 11.

DEN - RB Ronnie Hillman a full go

    Source: NFL

Denver Broncos RB Ronnie Hillman (quadriceps) practiced in full Wednesday, Nov. 18.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hillman and C.J. Anderson are both considered starters by head coach Gary Kubiak, but it's been Hillman with the most production in the last two weeks. We should see an offense more like the Kubiak offense we're used to now that Brock Osweiler is at quarterback. That makes Hillman a RB2 with Anderson more of a 'what the heck' flex.

DEN - TE Owen Daniels misses practice Wednesday

    Source: NFL

Denver Broncos TE Owen Daniels (knee, shoulder) did not practice Wednesday, Nov. 18.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Daniels may start losing time and targets to Vernon Davis. Check back to see if he can practice fully later in the week.

JAX - TE Julius Thomas will suit up

    Source: NFL

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Julius Thomas (abdomen) practiced in full all week and is probable against the Tennessee Titans in Week 11 Thursday, Nov. 18.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Consider Thomas a low-end TE1 this week against the Titans on Thursday night.

HOU - QB Brian Hoyer unlikely to start

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Houston Texans QB Brian Hoyer (concussion) is unlikely to start in Week 11 against the New York Jets, according to sources, which means QB T.J. Yates is expected to start.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Nothing is set in stone right now, but fantasy owners need to move forward as if Hoyer is out. That's a slight downgrade for DeAndre Hopkins, but we feel Yates will force feed the ball to the superstar wide receiver.

HOU - QB Brandon Weeden lands in Houston

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

The Houston Texans claimed free-agent QB Brandon Weeden (Cowboys) Wednesday, Nov. 18, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That's not a good sign for Brian Hoyer's (concussion) availability. If Hoyer is down, T.J. Yates would start with Weeden giving the team veteran depth behind Yates.

SD - WR Malcom Floyd improving

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

San Diego Chargers WR Malcom Floyd (shoulder) hasn't had surgery for his shoulder injury but has done platelet-rich plasma therapy and is improving.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Chargers could certainly use him. Floyd wants to play through the torn labrum in his shoulder, but his return is not a given. Stevie Johnson and Dontrelle Inman are the top two receivers for the Chargers right now.

WAS - Full practice for RB Alfred Morris

    Source: Redskins.com

Washington Redskins RB Alfred Morris (ribs) participated fully in practice Wednesday, Nov. 18.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The team hasn't completely gone away from Morris. He'll continue to pick up the tough yards for the team with rookie Matt Jones working as a change-of-pace back.

DET - RB Joique Bell limited Wednesday

Source: Detroit Free Press - Dave Birkett

Detroit Lions RB Joique Bell (shoulder) was limited in practice Wednesday, Nov. 18.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
We're not trusting anyone from the Lions rushing game. Bell should be the top back, but we'd only recommend him as a RB3 or flex play against the Raiders in Week 11.

SF - RB Carlos Hyde sidelined again
    Source: CSNBayArea.com - Matt Maiocco
San Francisco 49ers RB Carlos Hyde (foot) did not practice Thursday, Nov. 19, and is not expected to play in Week 11.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
That leaves you with Shaun Draughn which is a sure sign you should go elsewhere. Draughn is a decent RB3 but it's a bit iffy going up against the Seattle Seahawks.

DEN - RB Ronnie Hillman will remain starter
Source: The Denver Post - Troy E. Renck
Denver Broncos RB Ronnie Hillman will remain the starter again in Week 11 against the Chicago Bears, but RB C.J. Anderson will also see time.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Both running backs were trash last week, even allowing for the fact that the Broncos got behind by the end of the first half. Despite a few good moments here and there the Broncos backfield has disappointed. Hillman is the better play as an RB3 but Anderson is barely an RB4 and too risky to start.

NYJ - QB Ryan Fitzpatrick will start
    Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Rich Cimini
New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (thumb) fully participated in practice Thursday, Nov. 19, and he'll start in Week 11, barring a setback.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Fitzpatrick is just a decent QB2 play with limited upside since he has no deep ball. He has to get to the red zone to score and when the Jets get there, they like to run.

HOU - WR DeAndre Hopkins out again Thursday
    Source: ESPN.com - Tania Ganguli
Houston Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins (knee) was out of practice Thursday, Nov. 19, working off to the side.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
This is concerning, but don't panic until Friday. If he practices Friday in any capacity, it's a good sign. If he plays Sunday, he'll have a fight on his hands against Darrelle Revis, but we've seen Revis get beat deep a few times, so Hopkins should be a decent WR1/WR2 play.

DAL - QB Tony Romo practicing

Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo (clavicle) is practicing Thursday, Nov. 19.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Fantasy owners rejoice, but not too hard yet. We see Romo as a bit rusty and the Miami defense can be tough, so he's no more than a nice QB2 play this week.

Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson (ankle) returned to practice Thursday, Nov. 19.

We like Johnson as a QR1 as always and he should do well against Oakland this week.

HOU - QB Brian Hoyer out
Source: Houston Chronicle - John McClain
Updating an ongoing story, Houston Texans QB Brian Hoyer (concussion) won't play in Week 11 because he suffered memory loss from a concussion he sustained in Week 10. He should return in Week 12.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
We knew this would be the case, although the memory loss is scary and a reminder of the price these athletes pay for our entertainment. Avoid T.J. Yates against a tough Jets defense as he is a QB3 at the most.

PHI - QB Sam Bradford still out
    Source: PhiladelphiaEagles.com
Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford (concussion, shoulder) hasn't been cleared from the concussion protocol Thursday, Nov. 19.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Sanchez should look a little better after a full week with the No. 1 team in practice, and has a good chance to put up solid QB2 numbers against Tampa Bay, even if that defense has been improving.

PHI - RB Ryan Mathews unlikely for Week 11
Source: Philadelphia Inquirer - Jeff McLane
Philadelphia Eagles RB Ryan Mathews (concussion) is unlikely to play in Week 11, in the opinion of beat writer Jeff McLane.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
That should bump DeMarco Murray up to RB1 status this week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Murray still seems like an ill-fitting piece in this offense, especially the way they use him, but volume is on his side this week.

TB - WR Vincent Jackson returns to practice

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson (knee) returned to practice Thursday, Nov. 19, but was limited.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
We're not sure what his role will be when he gets back, whenever that ends up being. Consider him a shaky WR5 or WR6 if he plays and find another option until we see how he fits into the offense.

    Source: NFL
Washington Redskins RB Alfred Morris (ribs) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Nov. 19.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
This backfield is a bit of a mess. Matt Jones seems to be the best bet right now, and looks like an RB3. Morris is shakier and an RB6.

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce (groin) participated fully in practice Thursday, Nov. 19.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (shoulder) practiced in full Thursday, Nov. 19, after being limited Wednesday, Nov. 18.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Rodgers is fine, will play in a huge divisional game and we expect him to continue to put up QB1 numbers.

MIN - QB Teddy Bridgewater on the field
    Source: NFL
Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater (shoulder) fully participated in practice Thursday, Nov. 19.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Vikings are playing ultra-conservative offense, which limits Bridgewater's potential for mistakes but also his potential for fantasy points. He would have had two touchdowns last week if Kyle Rudolph had held onto the ball, but you can't depend on those every week. He is no more than a QB3 until we start seeing the passing game fire up again, which might not be this year.

MIN - RB Adrian Peterson listed as limited
    Source: NFL
Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson (hamstring) was limited during practice Thursday, Nov. 19.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
They're going to ride Peterson this week and every week going forward, so he should be a solid RB1 this week against the Packers and most weeks from here on out.

GB - RB Eddie Lacy, WR James Jones practice
    Source: NFL

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Lacy might be back this week but with the dysfunctional backfield, he's no more than a borderline RB3/RB4 and he could kill James Starks RB3 status if he plays so keep a watch on this. Jones has been blanketed by cornerbacks the last few games, so he hovers at a WR5 status again this week.

San Diego Chargers WR Malcom Floyd (shoulder) and TE Ladarius Green (ankle) did not practice Thursday, Nov. 19.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Floyd won't be back for a while and while Green once again showed promise this year, his injuries have killed any momentum he had. If he plays, he will not see enough targets to use in a lineup.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
This has been a pretty non-productive backfield, and as such even in a decent matchup we don't expect more than RB2/RB3 numbers.

NYJ - RB Chris Ivory uses acupuncture
    Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Ohm Youngmisuk
New York Jets RB Chris Ivory has used acupuncture as part of his weekly rehab regimen. He has needles stuck in him twice a week in an effort to help him feel fresh and pain-free. Acupuncture is most commonly used to treat pain, but it can also stimulate nerves, muscles and connective tissue. Ivory first started using acupuncture with the Jets in 2013. He's already carried the ball 156 times this year for 643 yards and six touchdowns in eight games. New York is cautious not to overwork Ivory down the stretch. He's averaging 19.5 carries a game and 4.1 yards per carry in 2015.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Ivory has a solid matchup against the Houston Texans, and we're predicting RB1 numbers. The Jets need him healthy so acupuncture, yoga, only eating green M&Ms - whatever keeps him on the field works for us.

ARI - WR Michael Floyd riding hot streak
    Source: NFL Network
Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd has averaged 82 yards and scored five touchdowns in his last five games.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The statistics are a bit misleading, as Floyd has only topped 100 yards twice and has been under 60 yards for three of those five games. His last two games are the ones you have to be focused on as he caught 11 balls for 219 yards and three touchdowns. With Jaron Brown and Larry Fitzgerald on the field and a tough Cincinnati defense opposing him, we're not bullish on this repeating, though we do think he can score a touchdown. We've got him as a WR4, but his ceiling is much higher. Just not certain.

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden (groin) was limited in practice Thursday, Nov. 19, with a groin injury. The injury is not believed to be serious, however, and the Cowboys were just keeping McFadden fresh.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Dallas Cowboys need to be careful with "Glass Joe" here as McFadden usually gets lost during a season at some point. He should play, and put up some solid RB1 numbers against Miami.

Free-agent RB Christine Michael (Cowboys) signed with the Washington Redskins' practice squad Thursday, Nov. 19.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Remember when he was the next big thing in Seattle and Dallas? Good times. Clearly, Michael is not going to produce any time soon and we can't think of a worse landing spot than Washington with its three headed monster of Alfred Morris, Matt Jones and Chris Thompson. Monster is a bit overstating—it's more of a muppet monster, kind of fierce at times but mostly adorable and squishy.

Green Bay Packers WR Ty Montgomery (ankle) visited the trainer Thursday, Nov. 19, and left practice.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
We're not depending on Montgomery for anything, injury or not. If you need a receiver from the Packers who isn't named Randall Cobb, Davante Adams is the guy and you can start him as a solid WR4.

While there are some issues with Denver's defense the last two weeks, we know the secondary is one of the best, which makes a banged up Alshon Jeffery a dicey play as more than a WR3. That's assuming he plays, so keep an eye on practice Friday to see if you need an alternative altogether.

CHI - RB Matt Forte sits Thursday
    Source: ChicagoFootball.com - Kevin Fishbain
Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte (knee) was out of practice Thursday, Nov. 19.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
We'll watch this on Friday. If he plays, he may eat into Jeremy Langford's carries considerably. Langford is a solid RB2 without Forte, but if the veteran plays, Langford drops a few notches and Forte looks like a solid RB2 himself. The risk is, if Forte re-injures himself in the game or if OC Adam Gase splits enough carries to limit them both.

A rusty Romo is far, far better than Cassel who lost all 6 starts. How do ones like him even get to stay in the league let alone be able to lose week after week after week?

As bad as Cassel is Dallas couldn't find a way to win 1 game ? More issues than Romo.

    Saturday Update

SF - RB Shaun Draughn to start against Seattle

    Source: 49ers.com - Joe Fann

San Francisco 49ers RB Shaun Draughn will make another start in Week 11 against the Seattle Seahawks, according to head coach Jim Tomsula.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Draughn is just a low-end flex play against a tough Seahawks run defense.

ARI - WR Michael Floyd, WR John Brown questionable

    Source: AZCardinals.com

Arizona Cardinals WRs Michael Floyd (hamstring) and John Brown (hamstring) are both questionable for Week 11 against the Cincinnati Bengals. Floyd missed practice all week and Brown was limited the last two days.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Brown is obviously more likely to play and be effective, but that is far from a guarantee after he has been active but notched zero catches the last two games. If one or both is out, Jaron Brown becomes a worthy flex play.

SEA - RB Marshawn Lynch questionable

    Source: NFL.com - Kevin Patra

Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch (abdomen) missed practice all week and is questionable to play against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 11. He was also questionable with the same injury last week and ran eight times for 42 yards against the Arizona Cardinals.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Lynch is still worth a low RB1 start after what he did to the 49ers a few weeks ago, but Thomas Rawls deserves what the heck flex consideration as he's likely to close out this game against Blaine Gabbert and the 49ers.

CHI - RB Matt Forte unsure of status

    Source: ESPNChicago.com - Jeff Dickerson

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte (knee) acknowledged that he's unsure if he'll play in Week 11 against the Denver Broncos with a short week on the horizon in Week 12. 'I still have to play it smart,' Forte said. 'I was talking to our head trainer and coach John Fox about it. We have two games in five days (the Bears play at Green Bay on Thanksgiving) and so I have to be smart about it. I don't know what our plan is right now.' However, Forte also said he's recovering faster this time around than when he had a similar injury in 2011.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jeremy Langford has a tough matchup against Denver this week, but he's a solid RB2 play even if Forte is active, as they'll likely ease him back in off of his knee injury.

DAL - RB Darren McFadden listed as questionable

    Source: DallasCowboys.com

Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden (groin) was limited during practice Friday, Nov. 20, and is listed as questionable for the Week 11 game against the Miami Dolphins.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

McFadden should go against the Dolphins, but the backup watch is officially on with McFadden's lengthy injury history in mind. Rod Smith is the longest tenured back on the roster behind McFadden, signed on October 10, but this week's addition Robert Turbin is the most experienced.

SD - Both Chargers TEs return to practice

Source: The San Diego Union-Tribune - Michael Gehlken

San Diego Chargers TE Antonio Gates (knee, hip) and TE Ladarius Green (ankle) returned to practice Friday, Nov. 20. It was Green's first practice since Nov. 1. Gates is probable for Week 11, while Green is questionable.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Green might not return this week against Kansas City, but he'll be an important target as soon as he does with the team's injuries at wide receiver.

TB - WR Vincent Jackson questionable

Source: Tampa Bay Times - Greg Auman

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson (knee) is questionable for Week 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jackson could return this week against Philadelphia, but after the long layoff, it's more likely we see his return next week at Indianapolis.

CAR - WR Corey Brown doubtful to play

    Source: Panthers.com

Carolina Panthers WR Corey Brown (shoulder) did not practice Friday, Nov. 20, and is doubtful for Week 11 against the Washington Redskins.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ted Ginn and Devin Funchess are much better plays now with their chances of reeling in a deep ball against the weak Washington secondary going up.

PHI - QB Mark Sanchez draws the start

    Source: USA TODAY Fantasy Sports

Philadelphia Eagles QB Mark Sanchez will start Sunday, Nov. 22, against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with QB Sam Bradford (shoulder, concussion) out.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Sanchez is a nice upside play because of his experience in this offense and facing the Bucs defense that Kirk Cousins tore up a few weeks ago.

Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford (shoulder, concussion) is out for Week 11.

The Eagles play on Thanksgiving, so don't look for him to return against the Lions next week either.

DEN - QB Brock Osweiler has looked good

    Source: DenverBroncos.com - Andrew Mason

Denver Broncos QB Brock Osweiler has looked really good, according to two of his teammates. 'Oh, he's ready. He looks good,' LB Brandon Marshall said. 'He looks really good. I'm excited, and I think everybody is excited to have him out there.' 'He's looked excellent throughout the year. In the preseason, he looked phenomenal,' added LB Von Miller. 'When he got in the game, he was able to make some stuff happen, and he didn't even expect to be playing last week. That's pretty encouraging.' Offensive coordinator Rick Dennison said the team won't be changing the playbook at all with Osweiler set to start in Week 11 against the Chicago Bears.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Osweiler is a high floor/low ceiling QB2 until we see him play a full game, but chances are he'll be worth more than Peyton Manning and the offense will be more productive with him at the helm.

DEN - QB Peyton Manning off the grid

    Source: NFL.com - Dan Hanzus

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning (foot) hasn't attended any practices or meetings this week and also hasn't had a single conversation with QB Brock Osweiler about the game plan against the Chicago Bears in Week 11. There is currently no timetable on a return for Manning. Head coach Gary Kubiak prefers that Manning put all of his focus on his treatment and getting healthy. It's unknown if Manning will make the trip with the team to Chicago.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Some feel that we're unlikely to see Manning again this year unless Osweiler faceplants. Stay tuned but this injury looks to be significant for Manning.

GB - RB Eddie Lacy says he'll play

    Source: Packers.com - Mike Spofford

Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy (groin) said he'll be playing in Week 11 against the Minnesota Vikings after missing last week's game. 'I felt good today. My coach said I was moving good, I was looking good,' Lacy said. 'It's a step in the right direction.' However, head coach Mike McCarthy already said earlier this week that RB James Starks would start the game against the Minnesota Vikings, with Lacy coming in later.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Lacy will still be second fiddle to James Starks, but he'll cut into Starks' work enough to make him a low RB2 play. Lacy shouldn't be in our lineups until he gives us a reason to trust him.

SF - WR Anquan Boldin's status in question

    Source: 49ers.com

San Francisco 49ers WR Anquan Boldin (hamstring) was limited during practice Friday, Nov. 20, and is listed as questionable for the Week 11 game against the Seattle Seahawks.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Boldin might go against the Seahawks, but he's not a good play with Blaine Gabbert at quarterback against a top notch pass defense on the road.

NE - Friday practice report for Week 11

    Source: Patriots.com

New England Patriots CB Justin Coleman (hand), LB Jamie Collins (illness) and WR Julian Edelman (foot) did not participate in practice Friday, Nov. 20. DT Alan Branch (elbow), OT Marcus Cannon (toe), OG Tre Jackson (knee), DE Chandler Jones (abdomen), WR Keshawn Martin (hamstring), OG Shaquille Mason (knee), DE Jabaal Sheard (ankle) and OT Sebastian Vollmer (concussion) were limited during practice.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Collins is over his illness but he might not have put enough weight back on to play against Buffalo on Monday, stay tuned.

CIN - Cincy Week 11 injury report

    Source: NFL

Cincinnati Bengals DE Michael Johnson (back), CB Adam Jones (foot) and DT Pat Sims (knee) are doubtful for Week 11 against the Arizona Cardinals. LB Vontaze Burfict (knee), DE Carlos Dunlap (shoulder), OT Andre Smith (concussion) and S Shawn Williams (ankle) are probable. Johnson, Jones and Sims didn't practice Friday, Nov. 20. Burfict, Dunlap, Smith and Williams practiced in full.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jones being out is good news for Larry Fitzgerald and any other Cardinals receivers that are active.

    Source: NewYorkJets.com

New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (thumb) and RB Bilal Powell (ankle) both practiced in full Friday, Nov. 20, and are probable for Week 11 against the Houston Texans.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Powell is back as a passing down back and back up to Chris Ivory. It's unclear whether he or Stevan Ridley would get more work if Ivory goes down.

HOU - Week 11 injury report

    Source: HoustonTexans.com

Houston Texans CB Kareem Jackson (ankle) is out for Week 11 against the New York Jets. LB Akeem Dent (hamstring) and RB Chris Polk (hamstring) are questionable, while LB Max Bullough (shoulder, hamstring), LB Jadeveon Clowney (back), DE Jared Crick (ankle), LB Brian Cushing (non-injury), CB Charles James (foot), CB Kevin Johnson (thigh), C Ben Jones (thumb), CB Johnathan Joseph (calf) and LB Brian Peters (hamstring) are probable. Cushing, Dent, Jackson and Polk did not practice Friday, Nov. 20. Bullough was limited, while the others practiced in full.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Eric Decker should have a great matchup with Jackson out if the Texans choose to have Jonathan Joseph follow Brandon Marshall this week.

DEN - RB Ronnie Hillman officially probable

    Source: ChicagoBears.com

Denver Broncos RB Ronnie Hillman (quadriceps) practiced in full Friday, Nov. 20, and he is listed as probable for the Week 11 game against the Chicago Bears.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hillman's prospects as looking up as the starter in a Gary Kubiak offense that will finally get a full install of the running game.

CAR - WR Devin Funchess set to start

    Source: ESPN.com - David Newton

Carolina Panthers WR Devin Funchess will make his first career start against the Washington Redskins in Week 11 with WR Corey Brown (shoulder) injured. Brown is doubtful to play. Funchess has 12 catches for 202 yards and a touchdown this year.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Funchess has reeled in a deep ball from Cam Newton and a score in recent weeks and looks like a what the heck flex along with Ted Ginn against the weak Washington secondary.

    BAL - Friday practice report

    Source: BaltimoreRavens.com

Baltimore Ravens LB Daryl Smith (non injury), DL Chris Canty (non injury) and LB Elvis Dumervil (knee) are all probable for the Week 11 game against the St. Louis Rams. OG Kelechi Osemele (knee) is questionable for the game, and TE Nick Boyle (foot) is doubtful. Osemele and Boyle did not practice Friday, Nov. 20, and Smith, Canty and Dumervil all practiced in full Friday.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Boyle being out should help Maxx Williams and Crockett Gillmore get a few extra targets against a Rams defense that let Zach Miller have a career day in Week 10.

Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders (ankle) returned to practice Friday, Nov. 20.

Consider the banged up Sanders a WR3/Flex with a new quarterback getting broken in.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins (shoulder) still hasn't been cleared for contact Friday, Nov. 20. He's questionable for Week 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Seferian-Jenkins' mysterious injury could be a slow-healing bone, but whatever it is, he's likely out against the Eagles. Cameron Brate and Brandon Myers will get targets in his stead.

ATL - WR Leonard Hankerson will play

    Source: ESPN.com - Vaughn McClure

Atlanta Falcons WR Leonard Hankerson (hamstring) will play Sunday, Nov. 22, against the Indianapolis Colts, according to head coach Dan Quinn.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hankerson might be worth a pickup in deep leagues, and there is a script for a good game for him if Vontae Davis discourages Matt Ryan from targeting Julio Jones primarily.

PHI - RB Ryan Mathews out for Week 11

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Demarco Murray is a strong play this week as he'll get all of the work he can handle. Darren Sproles also creeps back onto the flex radar with Mark Sanchez favoring running backs as targets after he got in last week.

I stand corrected, the 4 games just seemed like 6, and 7 games of Weeden and Cassel was a blur of awful Qb play.

    Monday Update

BAL - RB Justin Forsett out for season

Source: The Baltimore Sun - Jeff Zrebiec

Updating a previous report, Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett (forearm) will miss the rest of the season after he broke both bones in his forearm during the team's Week 11 game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Javorius Allen takes over, but you have to wonder how much he can do for your team with Matt Schaub at quarterback.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Matt Schaub will take over and the Ravens will be in the market for another quarterback. They play on Monday night next week against Cleveland.

GB - RB Eddie Lacy show signs of life

    Source: The Associated Press

Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy had 22 carries for a season-high 100 yards and one catch for six yards in a 30-13 win over the Minnesota Vikings in Week 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Lacy was back, running over tacklers and dragging them for extra yards. He's a good play against the weak Bears run defense on Thanksgiving.

MIN - RB Adrian Peterson held in check

    Source: The Associated Press

Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson had 13 carries for 45 yards and a touchdown and lost a fumble in a 30-13 loss to the Green Bay Packers in Week 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Peterson never got in a rhythm as the Vikings rarely got drives strung together against an inspired Packers defense. He's still a top 3 RB going into Atlanta this week.

    Source: The Associated Press

Green Bay Packers WR James Jones had six catches for 109 yards and a touchdown in a 30-13 win over the Minnesota Vikings in Week 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jones had a sideline touchdown catch and Aaron Rodgers was at his best throwing to his most experienced receiver. He's back in play as a boom/bust WR3/Flex on Thanksgiving against the Bears.

    Source: The Associated Press

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews had four catches for a season-low 13 yards in a 45-17 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Matthews isn't anywhere near our lineups. The only question now is whether he's worth a roster spot for the stretch run.

TB - RB Doug Martin in rare company

    Source: The Associated Press

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Doug Martin had 27 carries for 235 yards in a 45-17 win over the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 11, becoming the third player since the merger to have two career games of at least 235 rushing yards.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Martin quickly got behind the defense twice in the first half, but this was only the second highest rushing yardage total of his career, after 251 against Oakland in his rookie year. Next week he gets the Colts defense that shut down Tevin Coleman today.

TB - QB Jameis Winston ties rookie record

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston tied a rookie record with five touchdown passes in a 45-17 win over the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 11. He completed 19 of 29 passes for 246 yards.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Winston benefited from a dropped interception here and there, but otherwise he was using the whole field and his whole arsenal of weapons, including Vincent Jackson. He should get Austin Seferian-Jenkins back against Indianapolis next week, and Winston is a viable streamer for the stretch run.

New York Jets RB Chris Ivory had eight carries for 36 yards and one catch for nine yards in a 24-17 loss to the Houston Texans in Week 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bilal Powell was back after a long absence and made this backfield more of a committee and the Jets playing from behind didn't help. Next week's home matchup against the Dolphins should be better for Ivory.

SEA - WR Doug Baldwin bangs up ankle

Source: The Seattle Times - Bob Condotta

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin (ankle) suffered a right ankle injury in the second half of the Week 11 game against the San Francisco 49ers, head coach Pete Carroll said Sunday, Nov. 22. Carroll said there is no estimated time of return for Baldwin.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Baldwin was again the most targeted receiver for the Seahawks, but his injury could open the door for Tyler Lockett to be a more stable weekly fantasy play with Russell Wilson also coming off of his best passing game of the year. Lockett might be a good WR3/Flex upside play against Pittsburgh next week.

    Source: The Associated Press

Houston Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins caught five passes for 118 yards and two touchdowns in a 24-17 win over the New York Jets in Week 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hopkins nuked Revis Island (hat tip Ethan Hammerman) and scored again after Revis went out with a concussion. Only Julio Jones and Antonio Brown are worth as much for the stretch run no matter who the Texans quarterback is.

Detroit Lions TE Eric Ebron had zero catches on two targets in an 18-13 win over the Oakland Raiders in Week 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ebron dropped a touchdown and then dropped out of the game plan. He's barely rosterable at this point, although Philadelphia's defense was horrid today and that's who Ebron draws on Thanksgiving.

Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch (abdomen) will head to Philadelphia Monday, Nov. 23, to visit a specialist about his abdominal issue, head coach Pete Carroll said Sunday, Nov. 22.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Thomas Rawls could be a season-changing if he runs like he did against San Francisco today. Pittsburgh's run defense will try to corral him next week. Lynch probably won't be a true lead back if he is active next week, and maybe not for the rest of the season.

Oakland Raiders QB Derek Carr failed to throw a touchdown for the first time in eight games, completing 13 of his 25 passes for 169 yards in an 18-13 loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Carr had multiple passing scores in every game he finished except when he faced Denver. He should be better against the Titans next week. If he isn't, it's time to get worried about him as your QB1. We should also give the Lions defense some credit and monitor whether they become a negative matchup for the playoffs.

Oakland Raiders WR Amari Cooper finished with a season-low one catch for four yards in an 18-13 loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Darius Slay is becoming one of the breakout shutdown corners of the year. On Thanksgiving he'll be somewhat wasted against the Eagles receivers. Cooper should bounce back against the banged up Titans corners.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Ravens were able to focus on Gurley even more with Case Keenum in at quarterback. His touchdown saved his fantasy day, but he could struggle to get on track against the Bengals next week. You can't bench him, but the road is getting rougher for Gurley.
