    WHERE THE MONEY GOES
The New York Lottery contributed $3.11 billion in fiscal year 2014-2015 to help support public education in New York State, or 14 percent of total state education funding to local school districts. The New York Lottery continues to be North America's largest and most profitable Lottery, earning over $54.7 billion in education support statewide since its founding over 47 years ago.
No offense, but this is so far off base it's not funny. Just another way to divert funds already allocated to some other special interest. Been shown time and again. The post below sums it up nicely.

They took money out of the state budget, which had been allocated for schools, and spent that money elsewhere. So the lottery simply replaced funds that had been in the budget to begin with. Many years ago, Duval County, where Jacksonville is, received more than $30 million from the lottery; a few years, 2012 or '13, that had been slashed to something like $370,000.

NY residents can still play. Fanduel:

Notice – This weekend’s contests will run as normal, with no restriction for NY users to play. FanDuel received a letter from the NYAG’s but no action is immediately required. We will alert NY users immediately if there is any changes to your ability to enjoy playing on FanDuel. We believe the AG’s interpretation of the law is wrong and that he has mischaracterized our customers and our business. Please reach out to our customer service team if you have questions.

lawyer on Fox just said the whole thing could be shut down in a matter of weeks.

26 lawsuits, 4 federal indictments, and state legislatures looking to illegalize it.

realistically players deposits might not be safe in a couple weeks.

    don't look good at all.

That's mostly because western governments have worked out that if you take a little freedom at a time then the masses wont rise up in protest and so long as the unemployment numbers 'appear' to be under control then looks as though this will be the status quo for a time to come...

Doesn't the state get money from fantasy football? When a player wins a million dollars, half of it goes to taxes, right?

Exactly. Last year they were operating full bore but stayed under the radar. Now they are everywhere, no higher profile than FOX pregame show - "Draft Kings Ins and Outs" w/ Glazer. Nice way to stay out of the spotlight guys...

Everyone should be allowed to do what they want with their money.....I don't mind regulation for certain products and industries but to just pick and choose what is allowed is garbage

Get bombed off whiskey and waste your paycheck on scratch offs is cool but smoking a blunt and playing fukkin daily fantasy is not allowed

    Makes sense

The people of NY should demand Eric Schneiderman vacate the attorney generals office on the basis of abuse of power and waste of taxpayer money. Like the dumbfuks don't have more pressing issues than what joe blow does with $20 on a Sunday. Jackoffs.
