Odell Beckham Jr. -- First Pick?

Ok, I've just learned that I have the first pick on one of my fantasy leagues, however I don't really like any of the top couple of recommended draft picks... I just see too much down side with all of them...

Now my question, would I be absolutely insane to pick Odell Beckham Jr. with the number 1 overall pick? I feel if I did, at the end of the season I'll look like a genius or a retard... worth this risk? Who do you guys plan on taking #1??

#1 Overall? Yeah, I'd say that's a bit high. He's been going around #12-15 in most expert leagues, 1/2 PPR. To me, Leveon Bell is the best option at #1. Yes, he misses the first two weeks but his numbers in 14 weeks will exceed almost every other RB's in 16. Your dilemma lies that you won't pick again until #24. Beckham won't be there.

Exactly!!! This is the big issue here, I'm usually very against taking a huge risk and just getting a solid RB or something like you recommended, there just seems to be to much upside to lose out on here

Think he is way overvalued to go #1. He is not a Randy Moss. Cruz returning will cut into his touches and Giants will try and run the ball more this season to compensate for questions on line's ability to protect Eli.

Well, if you want him, you won't get him in round 2. So snag him. Fuk cares what other people think.

excellent, this is the advice I was looking for all along! Cheers to finishing last again in fantasy football again for me! (or perhaps looking like a fantasy football savant...) either way, win win!

Odell is a high risk injury player. Those hamstrings are a legitimate concern and I can almost assure you he'll miss games, or even 1 this year. I want you to know that prior to making your decision.

I'd rather have Antonio Brown than Beckham Jr. to be honest - especially in PPR.

But with #1 overall I'd rather go RB, and I'd prefer Eddie Lacy or Jamal Charles.

Why not Bell, AP, or Charles and then try and trade him to whomever gets Beckham?

AP is going to have a monster year barring injury. I agree to try and work a deal to get him via trade or draft him #2 if you can. Can you trade picks before draft?

Go with one of the top RB's, Bell or Lacey or Peterson. Then with pick 24 and 25 you can get a 2nd RB and a top QB. Bryant and Beckham will be gone so the second tier of WR's are all the same if you ask me. Its a crapshoot but I'd rather have two good RB's than one good WR.

Not bad for PPR, I have seen Antonio-Odell go 1-2 in a lot of leagues. I would rather have Brown though.

Don't get the Odell haters in this thread, 100 receptions = 17 touchdowns. Brown and Beckham could be the top 2 fantasy scorers this year overall, Odell should certainly outscore the top running backs in PPR.

I like Odell, just WR are WAY easier to find value then RB, plus Odell will regress, Cruz will take targets and DC's have had an entire offseason to gameplan for how they plan on limiting OBJ. The Giants O-line also blows, so Eli could be running for his life a lot and i can't see them being an efficient running offense. Odell should finish top 7 again, but i would easily rather have Dez and AB then him and i can see those 2 plus Julio, Green, Calvin, and maybe even Jordy outscoring him at the WR spot.

Odell, Antonio and other top WR are not so high in standard or .5 ppr leagues. I hate PPR leagues with a passion, I forgot the SBR leagues are 1 PPR.

I figured it HAD to be PPR to ask if Odell is a good #1 pick.
