Sunday NFL Recap per FootballGuys (Week 9)

    Thanks to footballguys.com

PHI - QB Nick Foles has broken collarbone
Source: Derrick Gunn - Comcast Sportsnet
Updating previous reports, Philadelphia Eagles QB Nick Foles (collarbone) has a broken collarbone.

Stay tuned for more details but this looks like a 4-8 week issue. Whether the bone is displaced, requiring surgery, is a big factor here. Our Dr. Jene Bramel will keep you informed no matter what the news is so be sure to check out Footballguys.com for his injury rounds.

MIN - RB Matt Asiata runs for three TDs
    Source: The Associated Press
Minnesota Vikings RB Matt Asiata carried 10 times for 26 yards and three touchdowns in Week 9 against the Washington Redskins. He also hauled in four balls for 31 yards. It was Asiata's third career three-touchdown game, the most of any undrafted player in his first three seasons since 1967.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Asiata's three three-score games have happened in the last 12 games. When the Vikings have a winnable matchup, Asiata is clearly for the flex play for his upside. Jerick McKinnon's outlook takes a big hit as Asiata is giving the team no reason to go away from him in the red zone.

MIN - WR Cordarrelle Patterson has only one touch
    Source: USA TODAY Fantasy Sports
Minnesota Vikings WR Cordarrelle Patterson managed just one reception for nine yards in the Week 9 game against the Washington Redskins, although he was targeted seven times.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Patterson was open deep but he lost the ball in the sun or he could have had a fine fantasy day. He's still a player to leave on your bench and hope he gets consistent in the second half of the season, but evidence of his talent is still there.

WAS - WR DeSean Jackson has another big game
    Source: The Associated Press
Washington Redskins WR DeSean Jackson had four grabs for 120 yards and a touchdown in the Week 9 game against the Minnesota Vikings.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Jackson keeps producing no matter who is throwing the ball for Washington. Robert Griffin III's eerie deep accuracy will only help Jackson remain a high upside WR2 coming out of their Week 10 bye.

WAS - RB Alfred Morris scores pair of TDs
    Source: The Associated Press
Washington Redskins RB Alfred Morris carried 19 times for 92 yards with a pair of touchdowns in the Week 9 game against the Minnesota Vikings. He also had two receptions for 17 yards and he was targeted three times.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Morris seemed to be hugely helped by the return of Robert Griffin III. Going into the bye, Morris owners have a strong RB2, even though his lack of receiving contributions gives him a low weekly floor.

CIN - QB Andy Dalton tosses pair of TDs
    Source: The Associated Press
Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton completed 19 of his 31 pass attempts for 233 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in the Week 9 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He also ran twice for 11 yards.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Dalton's production as a passer perked up with the return of AJ Green and #2 receiver Mohamed Sanu was still a force. He's a solid bye week or streamer play on Thursday night against Cleveland.

CIN - WR A.J. Green returns with touchdown
    Source: The Associated Press
Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (toe) returned to action in Week 9 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He had three receptions for 44 yards and a touchdown. He was targeted six times.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Green wasn't in on all of the snaps and his involvement should only increase Thursday night in an easy matchup against Cleveland. If you started him this week, you got a score and no setbacks, so you should be happy. He also had a second touchdown called back, so he's doing fine.

CIN - RB Jeremy Hill strong in first start
    Source: The Associated Press
Cincinnati Bengals RB Jeremy Hill made his first NFL start in Week 9 against the Jacksonville Jaguars with RB Giovani Bernard (hip, shoulder) inactive. He ran for a career-high 154 yards with a pair of touchdowns. 'Soaking it all in, man,' Hill said. 'You never know when you're going to get another opportunity like that. It's the opportunity of a lifetime.'
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Hill got banged up in the first half, but put away the Jaguars weakened run defense in the second half. With a Thursday night game against Cleveland, Hill should get a good-sized workload even if Giovani Bernard plays, and he could be playing himself into a bigger role even when Bernard is healthy.

MIA - QB Ryan Tannehill has big afternoon
    Source: The Associated Press
Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill completed 24 of his 34 pass attempts for 288 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in the Week 9 game against the San Diego Chargers. He posted a career-high passer rating of 125.6 and was lifted after three quarters with the game out of hand. He also ran four times for 47 yards.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Tannehill has been very Jekyll and Hyde this year, but some of the story here has to be a banged-up Chargers secondary that is very vulnerable to opposition passing attacks. At least they get to rest next week. Miami and Tannehill will get the stiff test that is the Detroit defense.

MIA - TE Charles Clay posts solid stat line
    Source: The Associated Press
Miami Dolphins TE Charles Clay (knee) was active in Week 9 against the San Diego Chargers. He tied for a team-best with five receptions and led the club with 65 receiving yards and a touchdown.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Clay has been inconsistent, but he is healthy now, and he at least offers desperation play value if you are waiting for Jordan Cameron to come back or have Dwayne Allen, Antonio Gates, or Rob Gronkowski on bye next week.

MIA - RB Lamar Miller to undergo MRI
Source: The Miami Herald - Armando Salguero
Updating a previous report, Miami Dolphins RB Lamar Miller (shoulder) will have an MRI on his shoulder after leaving the Week 9 game against the San Diego Chargers. He said Sunday, Nov. 2, that he could have returned, but he will need treatment to keep his grip strength and might miss some parts of practice, according to beat writer Armando Salguero. Miller struggled to pull a t-shirt over his head after his shower.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The injury doesn't sound serious, but it could be an issue against the tough Lions defense next week.

PHI - QB Mark Sanchez sharp as replacement
    Source: The Associated Press
Philadelphia Eagles QB Mark Sanchez threw for 202 yards and a pair of touchdowns in Week 9 against the Houston Texans, coming on for an injured QB Nick Foles (collarbone) in the first quarter. Sanchez also tossed two interceptions in his first action since Dec. 30, 2012, when he was a member of the New York Jets.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Chip Kelly offense just might be a plug and play system to create fantasy value in the quarterback. Carolina is not a tough matchup next week, so Sanchez might be a savior for teams looking for a bye week QB or coverage for Foles on the waiver wire. Brady, Luck and Rivers are all on bye next week.

ARI - Nice game for RB Andre Ellington
    Source: The Associated Press
Arizona Cardinals RB Andre Ellington (foot) carried 21 times for 95 yards in Week 9 against the Dallas Cowboys, and he added four catches for 39 yards and a touchdown.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Ellington yielded to Marion Grice and lost a goal-line score, but he was still a stud running back and appears to be a good bet for at least low RB1/high RB2 numbers every week as the lead runner on a winning team with a great role as a receiver out of the backfield.

ARI - WR Michael Floyd gets on stat sheet
    Source: The Associated Press
Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd posted four receptions for 36 yards in Week 9 against the Dallas Cowboys.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Floyd didn't get a signature deep 50/50 catch, but he at least wasn't a zero, and his offense continues to produce a lot of scoring opportunities for receivers. He'll be ok and the Rams are up next week as a good matchup.

ARI - QB Carson Palmer unbeaten as starter
    Source: The Associated Press
Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer completed 22 of his 34 pass attempts for 249 yards, three touchdowns and one interception in Week 9 against the Dallas Cowboys. Palmer improved to 5-0 as a starter this season.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Palmer is healthy and he has a nice array of weapons to perforate opposing defenses. He's a terrific start against the Rams next week as long as the offensive line holds up against the resurgent Rams defensive line. The Cowboys are also turning into a vulnerable defense to exploit in fantasy matchups, but the lowly Jacksonville offense is up next.

DAL - RB DeMarco Murray's streak broken
    Source: The Associated Press
Dallas Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray's record streak of eight straight 100-yard games ended in Week 9 against the Arizona Cardinals. He finished with 79 yards on 19 carries. The Cardinals rush defense hasn't allowed a 100-yard rusher in 18 straight games.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Murray didn't have a chance to get on track with the Cowboys offense sputtering under the stewardship of Brandon Weeden. He'll still be a great play against the Jaguars defense that Jeremy Hill gashed today. Murray still looked like the same stud back he has been all year, but the game script didn't give him a chance to get hot.

NYJ - WR Eric Decker finds end zone
    Source: The Associated Press
New York Jets WR Eric Decker (hamstring) was active in Week 9 against the Kansas City Chiefs, and he finished with nine receptions for 63 yards and a score. Decker was targeted 12 times.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Decker isn't getting the downfield targets he got with Peyton Manning, but he is getting volume and converting it into nice days in PPR leagues. He looks like a safe WR3/Flex start with upside against Pittsburgh next week.

NYJ - WR Percy Harvin posts big stat line
    Source: The Associated Press
New York Jets WR Percy Harvin caught 11 passes for 129 yards in Week 9 against the Kansas City Chiefs, his second game since being acquired from the Seattle Seahawks via trade. He also ran once for eight yards.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Harvin started this game and he was frequently targeted, including a deep ball on the sidelines he was able to reel in. He could be an every week fantasy starter again after all. It will be hard to bench him against Pittsburgh next week.

NYJ - QB Michael Vick to start in Week 10
Source: CBSSports.com - Jason La Canfora
New York Jets QB Michael Vick will start in Week 10 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, head coach Rex Ryan said Sunday, Nov. 2.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
This is a week-to-week decision, and apparently it has already been made. Vick reminded us of how much his injury prone nature makes him a dangerous start in any week, and a lot of his production game with the Jets behind by multiple scores. The Steelers aren't as good of a defense as the Chiefs, but Vick is still a dicey start even in 2QB leagues next week, but with six teams on bye, you might not have a choice.

PHI - WR Jeremy Maclin comes up big again
    Source: ESPN
Philadelphia Eagles WR Jeremy Maclin posted six receptions for 158 yards and two touchdowns in the Week 9 game against the Houston Texans. He is the first player with back-to-back games of at least 150 receiving yards and multiple touchdown catches since WR Miles Austin (Cowboys) in 2009.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Maclin has eight scores in eight games, and he has put up numbers no matter who is throwing the ball. He has to be considered a WR1 going into the matchup against Carolina next week.

BUF - WR Sammy Watkins had broken ribs
Source: CBSSports.com - Jason La Canfora
Buffalo Bills WR Sammy Watkins played with broken ribs during the early portion of the season but is feeling better, according to a source.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Watkins seemed to be protecting his midsection and not running as naturally earlier this year, but his limitless potential soon started to be realized once he was healthy and the recipient of an upgrade at quarterback in the person of Kyle Orton. He's a borderline WR1 from here on out.
