DET - WR Calvin Johnson limping after win
Source: Detroit Free Press - Dave Birkett
Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson (ankle) was walking with a noticeable limp after the Week 4 game against the New York Jets. Johnson said Sunday, Sept. 28, that he wasn't close to the 90 percent healthy level head coach Jim Caldwell suggested, although Johnson would not estimate a number.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
If Johnson is in the same kind of shape next week as he was in today, the Lions would be better off just resting him with the bye week still far off in Week 9. His owners would miss him against Buffalo, but it would be better than stringing this out over multiple weeks.

BAL - RB Bernard Pierce sits as precaution
Source: CSNBaltimore.com - Bo Smolka
Baltimore Ravens RB Bernard Pierce (thigh) was active in Week 4 against the Carolina Panthers, but he said Sunday, Sept. 28, that he did not play as a 'precaution.'
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
It's hard to know if this is a cover for giving Lorenzo Taliaferro another chance to impress before re-installing Pierce, or honest prudence on the Ravens part. Pierce hasn't really impressed in a while anyway, so Taliaferro is probably the back to own of the two.

BAL - QB Joe Flacco tears up good defense
Source: The Associated Press
Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco completed 22 of his 31 pass attempts for 327 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in the Week 4 win against the Carolina Panthers.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Flacco's bigger play of the day was on a fluke deflected ball long score to Steve Smith, but he also a good job spreading the ball around and seemed very comfortable in the blowout win. He has some QBBC appeal in good matchups like next week's at Indianapolis.

CHI - RB Matt Forte finally shows up
Source: The Associated Press
Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte carried 23 times for a season-high 122 yards and no touchdowns in the Week 4 game against the Green Bay, and he added 49 yards on five receptions. Forte went over 10,000 career total yards from scrimmage in the loss.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Forte started a bit slow this year, but this offense sets him up for success, including the opportunity for a 171-total yard game in what ended up being a blowout loss. The Packers run defense was also once again exposed as very weak, which bodes well for Matt Asiata and Jerick McKinnon on Thursday night.

CHI - TE Martellus Bennett sets career high
Source: The Associated Press
Chicago Bears TE Martellus Bennett posted nine receptions for a career-high 134 yards in the Week 4 game against the Green Bay Packers.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Bennett has been producing on a Graham/Gronkowski level so far this year. Carolina can be tough on tight ends, but there's no way he's going to your bench next week unless it is for a Graham/Gronk.

SF - Anthony Davis leaves game
Source: NFL.com - Tyler Dragon
San Francisco 49ers OT Anthony Davis (knee) left the Week 4 game against the Philadelphia Eagles due to a knee injury and he was not able to return. OT Jonathan Martin replaced him.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Davis's return was supposed to key the running game, although Frank Gore still had his best game of the year.

MIN - Good news for QB Teddy Bridgewater
Source: FOXSports.com - Ross Jones
Updating a previous report, Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater (ankle) had X-rays Sunday, Sept. 28, and they were negative. He has no structural damage and just a sprain.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Vikings have a short week with a Thursday night game this week so Bridgewater won't have much time to rehab. We'll watch this one closely for you.

TB - RB Doug Martin carries load
Source: The Associated Press
Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Doug Martin (knee) was active in Week 4 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and he led the team with 14 carries, 40 yards and a touchdown. He also hauled in two passes for 16 yards.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Martin wasn't impressive on his touches (nor was the Tampa offensive line), so he is still nothing near the high RB2 he was drafted to be after Charles Sims went down.

SF - TE Vernon Davis helped to locker room
Source: NFL Red Zone - Scott Hanson
San Francisco 49ers TE Vernon Davis (back) left the Week 4 game against the Philadelphia Eagles in the third quarter due to a lower back injury. He was helped to the locker room, and appeared to be in obvious pain.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
With Davis coming into this game banged up, it seems unlikely that we'll see him next week against the Chiefs. But a lot can happen between now and then - stay tuned.

CAR - TE Greg Olsen held in check
Source: ESPN
Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen (calf) was active in Week 4 against the Baltimore Ravens, but he was limited to two receptions for 30 yards. Olsen was targeted five times in the loss.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Olsen will have more days like if the Panthers continue to struggle as an offense. He doesn't offer the weekly upside of the top options, but he is usually reliable when it comes to having a higher weekly floor than this.

BAL - WR Steve Smith hurts former team
Source: The Associated Press
Baltimore Ravens WR Steve Smith posted game highs with seven receptions, 139 yards and two touchdowns in Week 4 against the Carolina Panthers, his former team. He was targeted a game-high 10 times. It was Smith's 46th career 100-yard game.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Smith had everything go his way, with a long score on a deflected ball and another on a play when Joe Flacco threw it up for grabs to give him a chance to make a play - and he did. Smith is red hot and facing the Colts next week.

CAR - WR Kelvin Benjamin scores again
Source: The Associated Press
Carolina Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin (knee) was able to play in the Week 4 game against the Baltimore Ravens, and he finished with five receptions for 76 yards and a touchdown. He was targeted a team-high nine times.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Benjamin had another touchdown overturned by replay, and his rookie status is keeping him in games and adding stats during garbage time. He appears to be a solid WR2, especially on a team with a quickly dwindling running game.

CAR - RB DeAngelo Williams wearing cast
Source: Charlotte Observer - Joseph Person
Updating a previous report, Carolina Panthers RB DeAngelo Williams (ankle) left the Week 4 game against the Baltimore Ravens due to a right ankle injury, and he was wearing a walking cast after the game.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Darrin Reaves could draw the start against the Bears next week, but the Panthers running game didn't look promising against the Ravens this week.

NYJ - WR Eric Decker makes presence felt
Source: ESPN
New York Jets WR Eric Decker (hamstring) was active in Week 4 against the Detroit Lions. He posted four receptions for 48 yards and a touchdown, and he was targeted a team-high 10 times.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Decker did not look limited by his hamstring issue, but the Jets were still very cautious with him. Even though Geno Smith is struggling, Decker looks like a nice WR3/Flex against the Chargers next week no matter who starts at QB.

DET - TE Eric Ebron finds end zone
Source: The Associated Press
Detroit Lions TE Eric Ebron had three receptions for 34 yards and a touchdown in the Week 4 win against the New York Jets. He was targeted four times.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Ebron looked strong on his catches and he could continue to play a larger role if Calvin Johnson's ankle situation is more than a one week thing. He might be worth adding in deeper and TE premium leagues.

NYJ - Fans unhappy with QB Geno Smith
Source: The Associated Press
New York Jets QB Geno Smith completed 17 of his 33 pass attempts for 209 yards with one touchdown, one interception and one fumble lost in Week 4 against the Detroit Lions. Fans were chanting for backup QB Michael Vick late in the game.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Smith gets the Chargers next week, but on the road, so he might not hear chants for his backup. Vick is an instant low QB1 with high weekly upside because of his running ability, so he should be added already in two QB leagues.

HOU - RB Arian Foster mostly ineffective
Source: ESPN
Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (hamstring) was active in Week 4 against the Buffalo Bills, but he was limited to six rushing yards on eight carries, and he had seven receptions for 55 yards.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Texans couldn't get anything going on the ground against the Bills tough defensive line, but Foster still salvaged a decent day in PPR leagues. It will be hard to bench him against the Cowboys next week even with the disappointing performance on the ground.
