Josh Gordon COULD Play in Couple of Weeks, Wes Welker COULD Play This Week

    Emphasis on the capitalized COULDS.

...a deal between the NFL and the union on a new drug policy could come as soon as Tuesday. As part of that deal, players recently suspended for violations (that would no longer warrant suspensions) are expected to get their bans retroactively reduced or repealed.

Welker would most likely be re-instated immediately or possibly have his suspension reduced to just one more game. Gordon would probably have the year-long ban for weed repealed entirely, but could then face a new two-game ban for his more recent DUI.

It'd be nice to see, their use did not enhance performance so the suspensions feel illegitimate, especially Welker's. Dude got a laced dose at the track, tripped balls, won a big bet, cashed $15k more than he was supposed to win and flipped hundys to the public, what's wrong with that? More importantly when does that happen to me.

You had too much fun on your own time. You're suspended.

why should gordon have to get suspended for more games? had the new policy been in place he would have gotten no games because the threshold would have been higher.

What? He's talking about for DUI, not weed

No games for the weed, but then there would be the new wrinkle for the DUI.

The entire NFL is on tilt.

Goodell has made a fine mess of it. Time for him to exit gracefully.

Difference is that Roethlisberger was never actually charged with anything and no video of his actions ever existed. Just a couple of floozies looking to cash in on his success by having sex with him. The first of the alleged "victims" was bragging about banging him the very next day. She even told her co-workers that she hoped she would have gotten pregnant. Not exactly something that your typical rape victim would say. The second girl that was supposedly raped in the bathroom had her civil suit dropped which should tell you something right there.

Big Ben was suspended for being an idiot, not a sexual deviant.

Let's not take it out on Goodell. The NFL will never be criminalfree. 95% of these guys come out of a ghetto environment.

Updating a previous item, NFL player reps will not vote on a proposed overhauled drug policy on Tuesday.

Josh Gordon and Wes Welker owners continue to anxiously wait. It was originally reported that the 32 player reps would vote Tuesday morning before it got pushed back to Tuesday night. Now, it won't be voted on altogether on Tuesday. There were reportedly "issues with the proposal" that made it not worth voting on at this time. The complicated new policy focuses on HGH testing, DUI punishments, and more leniency in the testing for marijuana.

Phins will be a solid defense all year. I would have went after Dolphins, but I already have Texans and they have a really nice schedule for the next few weeks.

A lot of people could do a better job than Goodell, but as long as he's making money for the owners he'll keep his job.

Well, it will NOT be this week for Welker (and some others) as this thing drags on.

The vote among NFLPA reps on a new drug policy is not expected until Friday at the earliest.

Josh Gordon, Wes Welker and other recently suspended players remain in limbo. The union is awaiting a response from the league to its latest recommendations before they actually hold their vote, and the league office is a engulfed with the Ray Rice scandal right now. The two sides appear close on a deal, but there are "issues with language on multiple issues, including commissioner authority in the appeals process."
