If you think Parsons game is limited to shooting jumpers....then you need to watch the NBA. He can move the ball and he can get to the rim. He has the athleticism to be top 5 at his position in the NBA given the right opportunity. In Dallas he will become one of their top options and get the time on the court to show what he can do.

That was before the LeBron news obviously. Reason why Bosh did not jump on max offer was because he would have gone back to Miami with Bron

In fact, now that LeBron has settled, should see a lot of movement next few days....just as I go on vacation on Sunday.

Yes, Houston still needs to clear cap space. It will get done, even if Rockets get just a token back.

The Lakers will send cash and rights to an overseas player to the Rockets, but no salary back.

Why does everyone keep saying that?

Learn to read people! EVERYTHING I said about the entire Big 3 returning to Miami began and ended with LeBron. That is not an opinion, it is a fact that if he came back, the other two would too. LeBron leaving changes everything. Now move on, there are a lot of big moves expected the next few days.

Someone answer me this......I heard that if Houston is able to trade Lin, then they'd be able to sign Bosh and Parsons. How is that possible? Or does the owner plan on paying a ton of luxury tax?

Asik will be moved in another deal with no salary coming back. No luxury tax involved after they accomplish this, and they will. Asik is an actual asset as opposed to Lin.

Why would the Lakers do this? They actually paid additional cash to get Lin? and I guess they have to pay all Lin's salary too? Are the Lakers insane?

Thanks. Totally forgot about Asik being traded to the Pelicans. Still amazing that they can afford Dwight, Harden, Bosh and Parsons, almost all of them being max contracts. Remainder of the roster will probably be pretty weak.

They picked up a first rounder and Lin's contract expires next year anyway, so they keep their flexibility. In essence they are just paying for a first rounder and Lin will help them somewhat while he is there as well.....well, with ticket sales from the Asian fans anyway.

They also have the option of dealing him at the deadline to a team in need and pick up another pick.

If you have the money.....a deal like this makes a ton of sense.

Rockets sign Ariza, which likely means they won't match Dallas' offer on Parsons. Parsons is clearly the better player, but I think getting Ariza at 8mill a year is a lot better than Parsons at 15mill a year. My guess is Rockets stash most the money for next year unless they go after Bledsoe.

They would have signed Parsons with the Bird Rights which allows them to go over the cap if I understood correctly. Which involves paying a lot of tax yeah.

Happy to see him headed to Dallas. It may be a bit of an overpay but at 11-12 mill Houston likely matches.

Last job of the offseason: get rid of fat fukk Felton.

    Not so fast guys.

    Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA 1h
With a 4-year, $32M agreement for free agent Trevor Ariza, Houston could still match offer sheet for Chandler Parsons, source tells Yahoo.

He gets to line once or twice a game so he doesn't get to the rim. Top 5 at sf is just stupid. He is a nice 4th option on offense and if a team wants to pay him 15 mil a year, congrats to him.

Rockets gonna take their sweet time before they match the offer for Parsons just to mess with Dallas. It looks like Dallas might go after Deng if they don't get Parsons though it may be too late with him looking like a Heat lean. Some talk of Stephenson but doubtful with his attitude, not a great fit in Dallas.

Houston can put four shooters out there at a time now if they keep Parsons. So, not much will change with them...chuck up threes and play no D.

I was hoping Dallas would get Parsons, like the fit there.

Mark Cuban is an idiot for fkin with Daryl Morey. You don't mess with an MIT grad and someone 10 times smarter than you. The Mavs lost out on Ariza, Pierce, Deng and Parsons. I'm from Houston and know a beat writer that writes for the Rockets and he says 100% that Parsons will get matched. I don't know if it's to spite the Mavs, but it's happening.

Seems that they are waiting until the last minute to spite Cuban for offering Parsons so much. Like you said, they missed out on the other SG/SF's out there and now Parsons will be matched at around 10:59 PM.

Dallas could take a shot on Stephenson.

Pacers and Pelicans are fighting for Lance as we speak. But, the Rockets will wait until 10:59 PM CT to match Parsons just to send a F U to Cuban. This contract the Mavs threw at Parsons is stopping them from signing any other free agents out there.

It's crazy how much money some of these guys are getting. Jordan Hill gets 9 mil a year for two years, Meeks 3 years 19 Mil and Ben Gordon getting almost 5 million a year for what...who knows, stealing money.

I don't blame Lance for turning down 5 years 44 millions, only 8.8 a year. In this market, he's probably worth 10 a year. I think the Kings actually got a steal with Collison for 3 years and 16 million, solid NBA PG for pretty much 5 a year...less than Jodie freakin Meeks, unreal.

Houston declines to match the offer sheet.

While he's a good player, that seems like too much money. Although Dirk is getting older, Parsons is making a lot more than Dirk over next 3 years.
