Kyrie Irving Agrees to 5-Year Max Extension with Cavaliers

He is now locked up by Cleveland for six years (or will be when he signs after July 10th)

Good news for Cavs. I'm still hoping Lebron does the right thing and goes back.

I wish James would go to Cleveland. If he goes back and wins champs there people will respect him. If Carmello comes to the heat people won't.

LeBron won't go back to the Cavs as long as Dan Gilbert owns the team.

Bigspoon I don't know about any of that I like to think king james is a better business man than that and can keep personal things aside I think his plan is to make things right with the people at some point during his playing career and return home to ohio....espn talking like the clippers have a chance of signing him doubtful I think but he's more than welcome here in LA that shit would be awesome !!

Guy is nowhere close to being a max guy and only reason he resigned with the Cavs is because his not gonna get that kind of money anywhere else. The fact that they could only finish 10th last year in that horrible East tells everything you need to know about Kyrie. He is not the kind of guy you want to build a franchise around.

LeBron has a better chance of playing for the Bucks. It's over. He will never return to Cleveland.

Irving is not a max guy, but since no one wants to play in that shithole, the Cavs have no choice but to over spend to keep him from leaving.

Cavs might be the worst run franchise in the league which is saying something. Let's run through the list of fuckups:

    Lost Lebron James, enough said
Re-hired Mike Brown, AFTER he was fired once already, THEN fired again
Drafted Anthony Bennett as the #1 OVERALL pick, a few months later the guy is in the D-League (this is almost Onion status)
Considered giving Gordon Hayward a max contract
Gave Kyrie Irving a max contract when he does nothing meaningful to help his team

Yea, cant picture a scenario where you'd want to give a scoring shoot first pg a max contract. The fact that you lean on him to score just screams bad things, you want that guy setting up the rest of the team more, some of these teams just feel like if I dont pay him he's just gonna leave and get the max somewhere else, well let them go if they arnt worth it.
