I haven't played yet this year, but I did last year.

Why do you ask? Or is this just a quota thread?

your against other players just like texas hold em. if you think you have a strong hold on a sport and know the players. you can make bank. certain games are 100% better and more profitable than others. a lot of people on there go off of mainstream media and love the "stars". i feel like its a lot more beatable than the books because theyve been around soooooo long. this is new and has ALOT of people throwing their money into it.

you could compare it to betting games in that sense but its a lot different because its not the book your playing. its like your making your own. tonight i figured nobody would have Vogelsong because hes pitched bad so far but knew he has a better track record... the 9 people i played ALL had david price. $ in my pocket because that was almost a 50 points difference and thats about 3 position players average. i find it easier but you never know if a player will do well. then of course theres a couple sharks who high role but i never play them unless its small and ive done pretty well. MLB is awesome.

I havent played for the past year or so. It's not profitable for me. I don't follow every team well enough to make educated picks of players. When I won, it was by luck. But for the profitable folks, it is all skill for them. They know what they are doing.

I have played every day for about a week or 2 now. I am 15-86 with a winning total of $754. That's from about 50 to start. I run it up on $2 games and then blow it in $25 leagues. Fun for sure but I am sure it ends there.

You either try to beat the books, or beat other morons. Which is the "fail" in this equation again?

Do you set different lineups for each game you play or just import the same lineup for 10 $2 games?

I hear a lot about draftkings on local sports radio. Basically getting shilled.

I think they have popped up here at some point.

Never tried it but the claim to have daily contests, payouts, etc.

Give it a shot. But I think you have better chances at cashing at DraftDay. I prefer that site over all the others. Plus you actually have a chance to win at the freerolls.

When I first made a deposit with them, they actually sent me a card thanking me for playing with them.

If you don't want to futz around with daily money contests on fanduel.com, playing in a season-long rotisserie or head to head league pays off with a lot of insights in starting pitchers especially that can help guide your capping. I start every day over coffee managing three teams in season-long roto leagues on Yahoo. I just play the free model, but Yahoo recently started some pay/win leagues last year I think it was.

Playing fantasy ball for years has definitely made me a better capper and investor. I get data and insights into player trends and performances in certain situations from daily managing i.e. setting lineups, dropping underperformers, picking off the waiver wire and making trades -- all that goes into my capping.
