    horrible signing by the Jets without a doubt. Geno will throw the other team more TDs than he does to Decker during the season. Decker's numbers overinflated due to Manning and he made the most of it with a big contract

    I really don't get the hate...Jets need WRs regardless of who the QB is and signed a pretty good one for a decent contract

    Decker scored 8 TDs with Tebow as QB and if you actually watch the games, he's not strictly a product of Manning

    Why make it anything more than that?

    it really isn't too bad a deal, 7m is what guys like stevie johnson and marques colston are making, Deckers averages of 86/1176/12 the last two years are better than anything colston has done since 2007 and its not like Colston is playing with a crappy QB.

    And its only 1m per year more than Golden Tate, who is coming off a career year where he manged less than 900 yards

    Greg Jennings, Mike Wallace, and a few other decent guys got much bigger contracts

    So if the Jets stick with Geno, they don't need good WRs? I don't get that logic at all

    Eric Decker is just a piece for them, they should still draft another WR or sign someone else

    I'm with you Dawg. Big Jets fans and I like the move. They addressed their biggest need. They should grab another in the draft and now you have some weapons to go with your decent defense. They need desperately to get another corner as well. Kyle Wilson is nothing more than a nickel corner.

    Bottom line, regardless of what anyone on these SBR forums thinks, Eric Decker was indeed the #1 WR available in free agency...and if you think that the Jets were the only team willing to spend some $$$$$ to get him signed, I have a beach front condo in Oklahoma to sell you!......Furthermore, the Jets addressed a glaring need and weakness on their team...their offense in general and more specifically their WR's (Or lack thereof) sucked!...IMO, Geno Smith didn't play that bad in first season as a rookie all things considering...He did show some promise and made plays with his feet...Sure he made mistakes, plenty of them, but so did John Elway, Peyton Manning, Troy Aikman, Philip Rivers, Drew Brees, etc. and countless others in their first couple of seasons and then went on to have brilliant careers......If Geno can cut down on the int's and mistakes, I think he will improve as a QB as he polishes his skills...he should be more consistent this year with a whole offseason under his belt.

    Very nice signing for the jets. Decker runs a very good corner and is corner route and geno smith throws a very nice long ball. Believe it or not, he was top 2 in completions that traveled over 25 yards downfield.
