Spot on. If you have been the NFL for over 4 years, you had better be good, because owners are not going to pay a big amount for some special teams player or situational player. They can soign some rookie or free agent for a lot less money.

Don't know if Nate has completely lost it, but maybe he could restart elsewhere.

^^^ I dunno what you mean..... Diamonds are held in high regard. That's why Lucy keeps them with her at all times, even while in the sky. You can't diminish a player's value by comparing him to the most desirable of all precious gemstones, and a dozen of 'em at that.

The Lions had cap issues and had to get rid of them. they cleared a bunch of space by getting rid of those 2. They should both be picked up quickly as free agents.

They could both even be Lions again and sign deals at lesser contracts

It was time for both to go. Burleson wasn't all that good. They need someone who's a real threat to help out CJ. Delmas wasn't much either. Big hitter but nothing else. His career year was 3 picks, so not much there.

Panthers should sign both. They need a safety and WR.

Burleson was never healthy. Now he's old too. He's a gamer, great guy to have, but no use in civvies.

Similar with Delmas, injury problems, but otherwise a solid guy. He's younger, he's still got an NFL future.

Delmas is Bob Sanders 2.0 minus the skills of Sanders.

Do you mean "dime a dozen" type player? Nate Burleson has never been a top 100 player in his entire career. If he is a diamond, then it has no luster and is very cloudy.

Neither had really done anything the past few years, and both are injury prone. I think that the Lions should go after Boldin in free agency. He would be the reliable possession receiver that they need to pair with Johnson. If anyone can make circus catches on Stafford's errant throws, it's him. They need to quit wasting second and third round picks trying to find a second receiver. If they spend any of their firs three picks on anything outside of a d-back or linebacker, it's a wasted pick in my book. If I was the GM, I'd be taking a corner in the first round, and another one in the second round. Then I'd shit can Chris Houston as well.
