Heath Bell, Jose Valverde, Fernando Rodney, Huston Street, Brandon League or Chris Perez. So many awful ones to name.

Marmol's not the closer. I'd go with Bell as the worst.

Huston Street has given up 14 ER in 26.1 innings so far this year.

Not exactly the type of stats you want to see out of a closer making $7 million.

Of the guys who haven't lost the job yet (Valverde, Marmol, & League have all been kicked out) Street is the worst; Bell may be a close 2nd but at least he posts good ratios 24.2K% and 7.6BB%so there may be some hope - plus Putz is on the way back so Bell's days are numbered anyways

    Fernando Rodney:

Looks like maybe he's turning it around some with his last couple of outings, but he's given up 2 or more ninth inning runs 6 times so far this year, has blown five saves, has an udgodly ugly 1.45 WH/IP ratio, just as ugly 4.83 ERA, sure he's a strikeout machine, but his high walk ratio negates that.

Yet there are some that put him on the elite closer list, I put him on the most overrated closer list, right there at the top.

Bell's ERA, WHIP are both much worse than Street's and he's also had more blown saves. Bell is about as bad this year as he was last year, no hope there.

you know, these teams that need closers can really take a look at this guy

    His k/bb ratio is outstanding
ERa is like 0.28 or something ridiculous like that-hasn't given up a run in months

He would be a great fit in Detroit
Texas might want to give him a look if the season wears on Joe Nathan
I'd say Boston, but Uehara does look pretty good, to me
If Cleveland is a buyer, then they might want to do a deal

assuming the Rockies fall out of the tight race
    they usually do, though

    good WHIP
hasn't blown a save w/ Betancourt on the dl

all this in the launch pad called Coors Field

They both suck but peripherals say Street is worse. Bell: 5.04 FIP, -0.3 WAR. Shitty, BUT...Street: 7.76 FIP, -1.7 WAR!

Bettancourt was a bad closer. Brothers hasn't really had many save opps since tulo got hurt so we will have to see

Beattancourt will probably take back his job this weekend, so he can be added into the mix.

Somebody did just drop Street the other day, so he feels like the worst closer.

Betancourt's peripherals were actually fine before he got hurt (2.84 FIP, 0.4 WAR), but they were only over 19 innings so they mean nothing yet.
