    He either got lazy or this is who he's gonna be for the rest of his career. Real shame too, he showed promised. I remember watching his first at bat cause I had the Cubs that day, he hit a homer to start things off.

    Tough for some guys to play for such a terrible team. You could tell from day one that his attitude wasn't the greatest. Probably just bored and unmotivated playing for a team with zero chance of winning.

    he's always been a hacker who relied on high contact numbers. But pitchers are throwing less pitches in the zone and that has lead to high K rates lower walk rates and less line drives. assuming he never develops good plate discipline he will be prone to large variance stretches. He also may be stealing less because before this year his steal rates (66%) actually provided neagtive value.

    However, those kinds of facts ignore the fact that Castro hasn’t really improved much since getting to the big leagues in 2010. He’s posting career worst marks in walk rate strikeout rate, and BABIP, all of which is leading to a 91 wRC+, worse than he posted in either of the last two years. His defense has improved, and there are fewer questions now about whether he can remain at shortstop, but his offense hasn’t progressed as quickly as the Cubs would have hoped

    I won't draft him next year.
    He is overrated.
    He tends to go in the 1st 7 rounds of any draft.


    Shortstops are hard to come by, in general.
    But, Starlin should be waited out till round 11+ next year
