Help me with my 2013 MLB Fantasy Team (trades, drops, adds) Check in please

So I'm trying to see in this trade:

    I send away:
    Zack Greinke (60 DL)
    Victor Martinez
    Houston Street

    for

    Alex Cobb
    Greg Holland

Would you think this is a fair trade?
Street & Vic are not producing and who knows about Greinke when he returns.

    For your time:

regarding that first trade, i think thats a terrible idea. cobb is an average starter at best..sure greinke is hurt right now but remember he is a solidified ace. holland is good, but street can put up great K numbers as well, and sure he's on a shittier team but the saves will come. check out his numbers after he returned from injuy last year, he was among the best in the league. and martinez will start hitting, he's too good not to...plus he is C eligible which makes him all the more valuable. i think you give away a lot of value with that deal.

as for the guys you want to drop, who would you be picking up in their place? those three pitchers and reddick are all solid players, unless you find a waiver player that is much better than them i would stand pat. remember baseball is a long season and its still very early

yes, hanrahan and de la rosa are both expendable...but at what price? what are you getting in return?

some potential guys to look at in deeper leagues might be bartolo colon, tony cingrani, nelson arenado, andrew cashner...these guys all would be worth dropping de la rosa or hanrahan for

Thanks guys, I picked up Wei-Yin Chen and dropped De La Rosa. Rosa got battered by the Dodgers last night. Was Chen a good pick up? Isn't he second in the rotation of the O's? I couldn't believe he was on waivers. Jason Hammel
    was also on waivers but I would have to drop a starter;
Barry Zito, Ross Detweiler, or Jake Westbrook?

As for Hanranhan (or however you spell his name) I need to pick up another closer, maybe I can trade him with a position player like Victor Martinez?

Chen has been solid to start the year. I considered picking him up but he doesnt get that many strikeouts so I passed. All his other numbers are fairly good.

Dont think youll be able to find any good closers on waivers, unfortunately. Trade seems like the only way to get one.

is david hernandez available in your league? might be worth a speculative add in the event that putz gets yanked from his role (trust me I own putz this year, it's ugly) and even if he doesnt become the closer he can still get you very good strikeout/whip/ERA numbers

valverde has been lights out but he might have been scooped by now, same with ed mujica and andrew bailey

as for chen, that was definitely the right call. is bartolo colon available in your league? he might be worth dropping zito, he hasnt been walking guys and plays in a great home pitchers park for a really good team.

who is your current catcher? i am really high on v-mart because he hits for high average with some power, and should play every day in a DH type role even while being C eligible (this is valuable). if you have a good catcher already, think about trading him to someone for a closer or pitcher in return, you wont really have a huge drop off going with v-mart (unless your catcher is like buster posey or something) and you can boost your rotation. catcher to me is not really that important of a position because they don't play all the time, and not many of them are great assets to a lineup, but v-mart could be both

list some of the better free agents in your league and we can help you more on who to pickup/drop

    K Kendrick
    Villanueva
Quintana might be available and are decent choices
I would add a closer if you have a category for saves

It's ESPN Fantasy league. Most of the guys have a spot to play unless I bench them. Right now I could only bench either John Buck or VMart because they both only play Catcher. Big Papi has the DH spot.
Quintana might be available but then I would have to drop somebody to pick him up.

Any guys worth dropping or trading for?

is there anyone willing to trade for john buck? i know he's hot right now but trust me this will not last...i would be willing to bet that vmart will have better overall numbers by years end than buck...if you can get something in return for his hot start, that would be a good idea because you don't really need to carry two catchers
