Since SBR felt the need to move the last golf topic.......

I think its time we start another.

I'll set up fantasy league on pgatour.com.

I think it would be fun to do a season long league for a decent number of points, and give a little bonus to whoever wins each individual week. Maybe SBR will throw in some FP if we get enough people.

Whose in and how many points should it be for?

Never tried a gold fantasy league. How does it tipically work/scoring? Just a short overview would be nice. Thanks.

    Fantasy golf rules

A golfer can receive a maximum of 20 fantasy points in each round of a tournament. The golfer with the lowest real-life score in a round receives 20 points. Other golfers receive two fewer points for every stroke that they finish behind the leader -- i.e., a golfer one stroke back for the round receives 18 points; a golfer two strokes back gets 16. Golfers 10 or more strokes back receive zero points.
Example: If the leader of round 3 shoots a 67 and your golfer shoots a 72, you would get 10 points because your golfer is five strokes behind the leader of that particular round.
Keep in mind that the points are awarded based on the number of shots behind the leader of each round, and not the overall tournament leader.
You receive the total points earned by all active golfers on your team over all four rounds.
If a tournament round is officially canceled, no team will receive any points for that round. All other scoring rules stay the same. If a round is delayed or postponed, no points will be awarded until it is completed.

That's new to me, I've usually seen like .2 points for a par, 1 point for a birdie, -.6 for a bogie, and -1 for a double or worse.

Yeah, espn does run some decent contest for the majors. I say we pick 5 golfers, throw some points in a weekly pot and based on how many enter, do a season ending payout. Same way we run the Nascar league.

OP wanted to do a season long league. PGAtour has the best one and we should start one up there for points

I'd do whatever people want to do. I just want a reason to look at multiple players objectively so I don't have to force find my golf bets every day.

We gotta set something up for the accenture, that'll be the easiest tourney of the year to do a contest for.

If somebody finds an easy way to format it, I'd be happy to grade them by hand via PM, or we can set it up at a site, but let's get one going.

The league name is betpoints Golf League and password is sbrgolf. We can settle up here for weekly contests and have someone hold the points

    Sweet, joining it right now.

Ps. It's in the bracket section took me a minute to find it. Don't select fantasy, select the one for the accenture match play.

We can set up fantasy after this week.

How many points do we want to do it for?

I'll make a PT thread once we got a number and hopefully get a good number of people.
I think like 25 points, but I'll do whatever.

Ya that's probably good, I was thinking more for the match play
But forgot it started this morning.

Maybe 10 a week, I dunno if we will get anyone at 25, I'd do it for 100, but whatever gets us the best balance of points and people.
