My league recently changed to a new scoring system for Defense/Special Teams. I had Atlanta who held Dallas to 13 points and scored (-2) points. Seems a bit harsh to me.

DEFENSE / SPECIAL TEAMS
Sacks:1 point.
Interceptions:2 points.
Fumbles Recovered:2 points.
Fumbles Forced:0.5 points.
Safeties:2 points.
Touchdowns:6 points.
Blocked Kicks:1 point.
Kickoff and Punt Return Touchdowns:6 points.
Points Allowed 0:10 points.
Points Allowed 1-6:6 points.
Points Allowed 7-13:0 points.
Points Allowed 14-20:-1 point.
Points Allowed 21-27:-2 points.
Points Allowed 28-34:-3 points.
Points Allowed 35+:-4 points.
Less than 100 Total Yards Allowed:2 points.
100-199 Yards Allowed:1 point.
200-299 Yards Allowed:0 points.
300-399 Yards Allowed:-3 points.
400-449 Yards Allowed:-4 points.
450-499 Yards Allowed:-4 points.
500+ Yards Allowed:-5 points

thats definitely a harsh system, it basically takes a bunch of points away from defenses for points/yards allowed but doesnt give any extra points elsewhere....the yahoo defaults for points allowed is pretty spot on in my opinion, and yards allowed is kinda pointless

and, why would they change in midseason? you cant make drastic changes once the year starts...did he make these changes a week after playing against the bears D? did he offer any kind of vote or anything?

These are the settings in one of the ESPN leagues I'm in. In any format, if the defense you start doesnt get turnovers and/or sacks, youll get negative points or 3-4 points at the most.

Sorry it wasn't just now that it was changed, it was at the start of the season. I'm just now getting sick of it.

I don't think i should be getting negative points when a defense holds someone to 13 points.

well if they were like that from the start of the year, then as much as it sucks, nothing you can really do about it. but yeah, those are some lame D scoring settings, i like the yahoo defaults, they are pretty solid
