Packers RB Cedric Benson has been diagnosed with a dreaded Lisfranc injury. It's the same issue that ended Darren McFadden's 2011 campaign after Week 7. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Benson is expected to miss at least 8 weeks. And he'll be done for the year if doctors decide he needs surgery. Even the 8-week timetable would have Benson sidelined through the end of most fantasy leagues' regular seasons. And who knows how effective he'd be or what kind of role he'd have upon his return. Go ahead and drop Benson in all but the deepest of deep fantasy leagues. His absence leaves Alex Green and James Starks as Green Bay's top 2 RBs. Green currently sits atop the totem pole, but Starks is capable of pushing for touches if he can stay healthy. Of course, the Packers figure to go even more pass-heavy now, leaving the backfield without much upside.
