cedric benson could be out for the season

Packers RB Cedric Benson has been diagnosed with a dreaded Lisfranc injury. It's the same issue that ended Darren McFadden's 2011 campaign after Week 7. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Benson is expected to miss at least 8 weeks. And he'll be done for the year if doctors decide he needs surgery. Even the 8-week timetable would have Benson sidelined through the end of most fantasy leagues' regular seasons. And who knows how effective he'd be or what kind of role he'd have upon his return. Go ahead and drop Benson in all but the deepest of deep fantasy leagues. His absence leaves Alex Green and James Starks as Green Bay's top 2 RBs. Green currently sits atop the totem pole, but Starks is capable of pushing for touches if he can stay healthy. Of course, the Packers figure to go even more pass-heavy now, leaving the backfield without much upside.

Unreal. Well. Time to drop his ass.

A.Green or J.Starks? I wonder who will grab the starting gig now.

I wouldn't truth either one of them. I'm thankful I have enough depth at RB.

Didn't have him on my bench for December. He was a BYE week RB.

Unbelievable. Drafted Fred Jackson and Benson. I'll drop him tomorrow.

Thinking I'll steer clear of any of the Packers RB's if Benson is indeed done for the year.

Pickings are thin though, and I need a BYE week RB for Week 8. If Ben Tate can't go next week, I need one for Week 6.

Yeah I don't see much value in Packer or Cardinal RB's.

My guess is Packer RBs will have close to no value because Kuhn may get a lot of the goal line carries.

I see less value in Arizona next to Green Bay.

I'm in a PPR league, so I would get a little more value out of the Packer RB's. I was really never thrilled about C.Benson either, but I had to stick with him for BYE weeks.

I'd rather go for a Packers RB, then a RB behind that horrid offensive line in Arizona.

Not sure why you're relying on Tate. Guy had like one 25 point game and rest of weeks anywhere from 1-3 points.

Nothing else out there. He is the best option if he is healthy.

Yeah losing Benson isn't a killer, he was more of a "fill-in" guy during bye's. Played him sparingly when he had good matchups. I was planning on trading him this week to upgrade at WR, guess I can't do it now.
