How often does a tie occur?

I know it's pretty rare, but let's put some numbers on this.

Betfair voids all bets on Money Line market if the game ends in a tie and is decided after other methods, like super-over and others.

How often will this occur? 1 in 5 games, 1 in 10, 1 in 100?

I don't know anything about cricket, I just started watching it a bit more.

    Thanks

I don't have any statistical data on hand but as far as Test Cricket is concerned there have only been a total of two tied matches ever: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tied_Test

Ties are more common in ODI and T20 cricket due to simply the fact that the length of those matches are shorter, but are still extremely rare: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_tied_One_Day_Internationals, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_tied_Twenty20_Internationals

The number would definitely be something around 1 in 100+.

Be sure not to confuse a tie with a draw, a tie occurs when runs are level when all innings have been batted. A draw occurs when the five days of a test match have come to a close and all four innings have not been completed.

yeah i think i understood the difference. i am wondering about ties in a match where there is a 2 way match odds betting in place ... so not Test series, since those are 3 way with a draw, correct?

T20 and ODI, yes, 1 in 100, yeah i figured it's really rare, but I just saw it a few weeks ago ... what was it, Pakistan - England game? and it got me wondering, because betfair voided all bets, like 20 million worth of matched bets.

anyways, turns out, there's lots of money to be made on cricket

A tie after super over is rare, a tie before that is possible more and more in T20 now a days
