J'Covan Brown scored 23 points, and No. 10 Texas rallied to defeat No. 2 Kansas 74-63 on Saturday in Lawrence, Kan., ending the Jayhawks' home winning streak at 69 games.
Kansas scored the game's first 10 points and led by as many as 15. But Texas (16-3, 4-0 Big 12) outscored the Jayhawks 36-13 while turning a 12-point halftime deficit into a 59-48 lead on a 3-pointer by Cory Joseph.
The Jayhawks (18-1, 3-1) had not lost at home since Feb. 3, 2007. Kansas shot only 36 percent from the floor. In the second half, the Jayhawks were 8 of 30.
Kansas sophomore Thomas Robinson had learned Friday night that his mother died of a heart attack in Washington, D.C. Robinson asked to stay with the team and entered the game during Kansas' early run.
Ohio State 73, Illinois 68: Jared Sullinger had 27 points and 16 rebounds, and the No. 1 Buckeyes (20-0, 7-0 Big Ten) used a 14-0 run in the second half to overtake the No. 23 Illini (14-6, 4-3), in Champaign, Ill.
Villanova 83, Syracuse 72: Maalik Wayns scored 17 of his 21 points in the first half as the No. 7 Wildcats (17-2, 5-1 Big East) beat the No. 3 Orange (18-2, 5-2) before a crowd of 33,736 at Syracuse's Carrier Dome.
Duke 83, Wake Forest 59: Kyle Singler scored 24 points to help the No. 4 Blue Devils (18-1, 5-1 ACC) defeated the Demon Deacons (7-13, 0-5) in Winston-Salem, N.C.
