Harry's Week 10 "Total Package" (Friday Night Play)
Boyz,
It's that time of the year when the weather starts to become a factor with these totals plays. You gotta be a handicapper and a meteorologist. Gonna start my week off with the following....
CENTRAL MICHIGAN/WESTERN MICHIGAN - UNDER 52
In perfect conditions I had this one handicapped at a total of 50 points. Tonight's weather is calling for temps of 36 degrees, chance of light rain or snow, and winds of about 13 mph. Bring a coat if you're going to the game. (It is a big Rivalry in these parts.....the Battle of the Victory Cannon). Both squads generally do most of their damage through the air. My guess is that they'll both have to go to the ground game a bit more than they'd prefer. The clock will move and there will be lots of punts. Play it UNDER. Take note: 6 pm est start.
Will be back later tonight with the rest of my card for this weekend.
As always, best of luck.
Harry
2010 college plays, 45-24 2010 college totals, 33-30
The rest of this week's totals plays are as follows....
ARMY/AIR FORCE - UNDER 48-
Both teams run on over 90% of their plays. That means a moving clock. Both teams are familiar with each other's offense. Factor in cold, rainy weather. I'll go under.
MICHIGAN/ILLINOIS - OVER 57
Why has Vegas installed the Wolverines as the favorite? Curious. Michigan only has one strategy for winning these type of games......outscore the opposition. The Michigan defense sucks and will give up at least 35 points. Over.
OKLAHOMA STATE/BAYLOR - UNDER 73
It's a big number.
BOISE STATE/HAWAII - OVER 66
Tough game to handicap. Boise is the better team, but them Rainbows sure do make a helluva live dog. Hawaii has a tremendous passing attack and should score 3 or 4 TDs. Boise State knows the eyes of college football are on them in this one. If they don't win and cover they'll lose ground in the BCS polls. That means they need to post somewhere between 40 and 50 points. Add it all up......this game's gonna have a lot of points. Over.
MEMPHIS/TENNESSEE - OVER 52
Gonna ride the hot hand in this one. Last week the Vols passed the ball beautifully against South Carolina. This week they face the 116th ranked pass defense. They will shred 'em. The Tigers will have to muster some semblance of offense to keep themselves in this one.
USC/ARIZONA STATE - UNDER 60-
The Trojans will witness a big step down in class from Oregon's offense last week to Az State's this week. This one should go no further north than the low 50s.
BOL, Harry. love the Illinois/UM over, but we're opposite on Hawaii/Boise (probably bad for me). agree on Baylor/Okie St but didn't pull the trigger. gl this weekend and thanks for your picks and write-ups.
I really do like totals. Sometimes it's fun to watch a game and not give a crap who wins.....but rather what type of game is being played, tight or loose. Kinda like that Indiana/Iowa game today. Methinks this game will be a bit looser than your typical Hawkeye game. Not an official release, but I'm guessing a lot of points.
