Machine Plays: 14-6 (70%)
Current Streak: 3-0 (MNF & NLCS)
I'm breaking silence to write this game up, because I'm already seeing stupid disinformation in this forum about this game. Oregon is going to absolutely throttle UCLA in primetime in their BCS coming-out party. If you doubt that, then you haven't watched many Oregon home games. These geeks are throwing on the yellow threads and pounding the micro-brews all afternon in prep for this ESPN special.
Listen, that Texas game was a fluke. Texas gave that game to UCLA, commiting two turnovers inside their own 30 yard line. Texas didn't give a shit about that game, with Oklahoma next up. "Machine, Oregon didn't beat WSU very impressively." That's right, and their starting QB didn't play the entire 2H and their backup FB was in a hospital in a ******* coma. Well the QB Thomas is back now. Expect a Stanford-size beatdown, at least until Oregon pulls Thomas late in the 3Q in order to further rest him for the USC game. At that point, the game will be something like 42-10.
By Quarter:
1Q: UCLA gadget play nets FG, Oregon TD, Oregon FG (10-3)
2Q: UCLA FG, Oregon TD, Oregon defensive TD, Oregon FG (27-6)
3Q: Oregon TD, Oregon TD, UCLA TD (41-13); Thomas leaves games, enter Costa
4Q: Oregon TD, UCLA TD in garbage time vs reserves 48-20
Could a backdoor cover occur? Not likely. Oregon has had two weeks to prepare for UCLA's pathetic pistol offense, which Cal exposed as a fraud. UCLA is rotating QB's due to Prince's health (and absolute ineffectiveness), and Neuhesal had to dismiss two offensive playmakers this week due to infractions. Primary receiver Rosario is banged up and probably won't play. UCLA is distracted and rightfully scared. Roll the cameras.
