    Machine Report: UCLA at Oregon

    Machine Plays: 14-6 (70%)
Current Streak: 3-0 (MNF & NLCS)

I'm breaking silence to write this game up, because I'm already seeing stupid disinformation in this forum about this game. Oregon is going to absolutely throttle UCLA in primetime in their BCS coming-out party. If you doubt that, then you haven't watched many Oregon home games. These geeks are throwing on the yellow threads and pounding the micro-brews all afternon in prep for this ESPN special.

Listen, that Texas game was a fluke. Texas gave that game to UCLA, commiting two turnovers inside their own 30 yard line. Texas didn't give a shit about that game, with Oklahoma next up. "Machine, Oregon didn't beat WSU very impressively." That's right, and their starting QB didn't play the entire 2H and their backup FB was in a hospital in a ******* coma. Well the QB Thomas is back now. Expect a Stanford-size beatdown, at least until Oregon pulls Thomas late in the 3Q in order to further rest him for the USC game. At that point, the game will be something like 42-10.

    By Quarter:
1Q: UCLA gadget play nets FG, Oregon TD, Oregon FG (10-3)
2Q: UCLA FG, Oregon TD, Oregon defensive TD, Oregon FG (27-6)
3Q: Oregon TD, Oregon TD, UCLA TD (41-13); Thomas leaves games, enter Costa
4Q: Oregon TD, UCLA TD in garbage time vs reserves 48-20

Could a backdoor cover occur? Not likely. Oregon has had two weeks to prepare for UCLA's pathetic pistol offense, which Cal exposed as a fraud. UCLA is rotating QB's due to Prince's health (and absolute ineffectiveness), and Neuhesal had to dismiss two offensive playmakers this week due to infractions. Primary receiver Rosario is banged up and probably won't play. UCLA is distracted and rightfully scared. Roll the cameras.

    OREGON -25

Skippy Neuhesal gets his team fired up for this one and keeps it within the number.

Nice record, sir. Nice write-up, too.

UCLA has a great run game. I'm sure their gameplan has to include keeping the ball on the ground in an attempt to control the clock and keep the ball out of Thomas' hands. If they can be successful in this, there may not be enough time in the game to cover 24pts.

It's at 14 and that seems almost too low...I think they hit that in the 1Q.

Their rushing has been inconsistent. UCLA rushed for a total of 26 yards vs California. 26 yards.

Now consider that Oregon has had two weeks to game plan, and that they just saw Ohio St last exactly one week at the AP #1. They will be ready for whatever UCLA brings.

your exactly right. They will try to make that game as ugly as possible. 25 is a huge number for the athletes UCLA has. That pistol offense or whatever Skippy calls it will be dialed down to a heavy dose of running the ball.

I think the Backs ran for maybe 70 yards, but the ridiculous sack yardage subtracted from that. Still, very hard to argue with that performance.

And that will be Oregon's goal: stop the run, put points on the board, turn UCLA into a passing team. If they can get to that point the final could be 52-10.

As you said, alot depends what Bruins team shows up

I have soured on Oregon, ever since I lost big money when they couldn't cover -13 against Arizona St., -25.5 is way too high no way i'm picking Oregon in this spot I can already see the direction this game is going

I think the under in the 1st-half is the best way to go here; there have been 17 total points scored in the 1st-half of their match-ups in '08/'09.

After that, yeah, I think Oregon would probably go into crush-kill-destroy mode, but -- until then.....UCLA will try to keep this game as close as possible with clock killing.

I Think you're on the $$$ here machine. With a gimpy Prince, injured Rosario, (doubtful) and suspended Smith & Pressley ,(Out) you gotta think UCLA will struggle to get out of single digits. When we wake up on Friday we might look back at this game and say I can't believe the spread was only 25, GL ALL!!!

UCLA has issues and Oregon doesnt play down to opponents at home ... Off a bye with so much speculation with 1 loss teams on who would make the national championship game, i just dont see the Ducks winning by any less than 28

Like I said earlier Oregon comes out on fire, stacks the box, and forces ucla to throw (pick 6's). Go ducks.

UCLA is one-dimensional. Oregon knows what's coming... Run. UCLAs QB is most likely out of this game with a knee injury so that just makes their passing situation worse. They already average 95 yards passing a game.

UCLA has a great rushing game... At home. On the road they are averaging 161 yards, good but not great. Oregon is averaging 428 yards rushing at home. Don't see how you don't go with Oregon here. BOL to everyone.

    I think Oregon wins by 4 TD's.
Speed kills and UCLA doesn't have enough to keep up w/ Oregon.
