    BCS Standings - November 25, 2007

I still can't believe these ranking this year. I mean FOX must be kicking themselves for paying all that money for those TV right to air such bad schools in the championship game.

I went back through the past 5 weeks to see how the rankings changed and see how well these BSS rankings really applied to the talent.
    From 5 weeks ago:
    1) OSU
    2) BC
    3) LSU
    4) ASU
    5) Ore
    6) Okl
    7) WV
    8) Kan
    9) Mizz
    10) Geo
    11) VT
    12) Mich
    13) Conn
    14) Haw
    15) Tx
    16) Aub
    17) Ala
    18) SFla
    19) USC
    20) Fla
    21) Wis
    22) Boise
    23) Vir
    24) WF
    25) Clem

I don't know about you people, but I sure would love a play-off and forget this what have you done for me lately BShitS poll to determine a Nat'l champ.
Eliminate the non conf games and insert the playoffs schedule. Who gives a Valachi's ass if LSU plays bum- F##k Egypt.

A few other notes on the BSS:

    • Once again, Oklahoma is the only team in the BCS top 10 whose computer ranking also isn't in the top 10. The Sooners' average computer ranking is 12th.
And you can be sure Ohio State coaches, players and fans know that Oklahoma beat Missouri on Oct. 13 in Norman.

While strength of schedule isn't a BCS component, all six computers have a strength-of-schedule factor in their rankings.

Also of note: Hawaii (11-0) is 12th in the BCS standings this week. A non-BCS league team is guaranteed a BCS spot in two ways. One is if it finishes in the top 12; the other is if it is ranked in the top 16 and its ranking is higher than that of a conference champion that has an automatic berth. Each of the six BCS leagues has a team in the top nine.
Hawaii finishes its regular season by playing host to Washington (4-7) on Saturday night in the final regular-season game of the season in Division I-A.

No. 4 this week is Georgia, which is ranked 10 spots higher than Tennessee despite two things: 1. The Vols beat the Bulldogs in their head-to-head matchup; and 2. The Vols won the SEC East ahead of Georgia. A team that doesn't win its conference title is guaranteed an at-large spot in the BCS if it finishes in the top four in the standings.

    C'mon Bowl games.

    Dan,

I think this is pretty much one of those situations where you puts your money down and takes your chances...

By "bad schools" do you mean ones that haven't been part of the , let's call it , "old boy network" of the same teams for the past 20 years. I hardly consider WVU, Mizz, and Kan bad after the year they had. It's refreshing to have some new blood competing for the top spot.
I hope there is never a playoff. No other sport has so many big regular season games - in fact, a season long playoff.

Who would Notre Dame play? Maybe a better question is how much are you going to pay Notre Dame, how many concessions will you make to that school, to get them to conference up?

College football is the only sport where you can start the season without controlling your own destiny. That is a fatal flaw in terms of fairness. We should and will see a playoff in the next 10 years.

Well I know people hate when I repeat myself but oh well i got a few minutes..

IMO I believe a playoff system is being developed as we b*tch... I think at some point they will cut the schedule back down to 11 games and all the (11) BCS conferences will have 12 teams.... All will have a conference championship game... Each winner of their conference gets a playoff bid and 5 wildcard spots will be granted during the new BCS selection show they recently created...
