I know what some of your expecting in this thread but if you've seen my posts, you know I am gracious in victory and humble in defeat and am always cordial in my posts.

Well fellows I warned everyone about Notre Dame being a sham....unfortunately some members on the board didn't heed my valuable advice and played one of the most overrated teams in the past decade thinking somehow they were better than Ohio State who is a top 4 team.

Normally I stick to 1 unit per game sometimes if I believe the game merits more than 1 unit, I go to 2 units...this time though I went ahead and layed 25 units on Ohio State...easy money....probably as easy as it will ever get fellows.

All along, I tried to convince people ND played next to nobody and was not very convincing in really any of their wins....meanwhile, OSU manhandled Iowa, Northwestern, Minnesota (all bowl teams), came back and beat, at the time, a good MSU team and then won in Michigan again and played Texas and PSU tough as nails who are probably 2 of the best 3 teams in the country....while ND beat BYU, Navy, and a Michigan team who should have beat them???

Everyone put all this stock b/c ND nearly beat USC and so on and so forth thinking that ND is an elite team b/c of that near upset....

The funniest line by far was this past month leading to the game was....Give Charlie Weiss a month to plan for OSU and he is going to destroy them.

Earth to ND fans....Charlie Weiss can't hold Jim Tressel's clipboard...there isn't a better college coach in America, outside Pete Caroll, then Jim Tressel. Even Musberger commented on the fact that Weiss had no gameplan for OSU.

So the fact remains for the sorry school in South Bend is that they are in the same exact position that they were after Tyrone Willingham's first year....one could make a cogent argument that Willingham's 2002 year was better than this 2005 ND team....but of course everyone is still hung up on the near victory against USC when that year they beat several high quality bowl teams.

Just like every year, there will be high expectations for ND and like every year the Irish will fail to meet those expectations....and with their annual losses to MSU and BCU forthcoming, ND will show they are nothing more than an average football program living off a past glory that doesn't exist. But we'll here the standard line from ND apologists that "we have a great recruiting class" and "Weiss is going to turn things around"....ND fans I don't know if you realize this anymore but you are an average program and you being in the BCS is a product of your ability to attract a large television audience not on the quality of your play. You haven't won a bowl game since 1993...that should tell you all you need to know about the ND program.

BB, with all those overstatements, you're starting to remind me of JJ. Your dislike of Notre Dame and their fans gives you the same blinders that The Irish and their faithful have.

Notre Dame had a solid year. They did much better than people thought they were going to. I'm just going to wait and see what Weis can pull off in the coming years. I, personally, think he will win a national championship before he is done. It probably won't be in 2006, but I don't think its far off. I'll be sure to go back and find this thread when it happens though.

While I had Ohio St., as for one thing they were a handicapper I know's GOY, I don't think Notre Dame is that far from being a top tier team. They need to recruit speed - and this is what I was saying about bowl trends, every time ND plays a clearly faster team (not including USC, whose speed was neutralized by that ridiculous field) they get manhandled - and until they do, they will continue to fall short of being a contender. Fortunately for them, going 9-3 with their roster this season equates to being a serious national championship contender if Weis can bring in the kind of speed OSU, Michigan, and such programs have.

No, Notre Dame is not a top 10 team this season, but next year they will be close, and I expect them to win a BCS game by 2007.

Ohio showed they are the superior team. All I can say is that when you give up close to 650 yards of total offense to one of the best defensive teams in the ncaaaf you do not have a prayer.

OSU only punted 1 time the entire game.

What the hell does cheeseburger know about anyone's gameplan? ... If the score was going the other way he'd say the same thing about the Ohio St. coach ... Musberger is a clown ... As for Charlie Weiss, he did a commendable job with Notre Dame this year ... And doesn't he have 3 Super Bowl rings? ... Or is it 4? ... I lost count.

This doesn't seem to match up BB. Why come in after the fact and say you had 25 units on this game? I had OSU too, I think ND was grossly overrated this year too (due to the fact that they are media darlings and given preferrential treatment), but what is the point of this post? To toot your own horn and to stick your tongue out at ND backers who lost money on this game? I don't think you would like it if every time you lost a bet, somebody makes a post berating your bet saying "I told you so, you should've listened, it was easy money."

I had Ohio State too because I got them at -4. I'm not a Notre Dame fan by any means. I just think its okay to say that they had a solid season and a year much better than people thought.

That post was filled with gross overstatements, a mistake BB doesn't usually make. It sounds like he just can't stand Notre Dame and their fans and it hurts his credibility in the argument. I said something similar to this in the original "Notre Dame Blows" thread.

KDMfox don't you have horseracing to watch or whatever junk sports you bet on....i don't have any axe to grind with anyone other than showing everyone who was right and who was wrong....it's that simple As always how much someone bets is irrelevant to the conversation.

As for how many units I bet...that is not important either, that's my business not yours....you should be happy I won after all not calling me out. Second, Charlie Weiss is an average NCAAF coach at best....right now he is no better than Ty Willingham after his first year....next year when the schedule gets tougher he'll be feeling the heat more after this season with all the bad schools they faced....like i said before George Perles had 4 SB rings and he was an average coach....why people keep saying Charlie Weiss has 4 SB rings is beyond me....that was the NFL this is NCAAF....not the same thing....Pete Caroll could go the NFL and he would be an average coach but somehow CW is God b/c he has 4 SB rings.

To think, ND turns down bowl games b/c they are "too good" for them....trust me....I am thrilled to death ND lost and not only lost but looked horrible in the process. My analysis was 100% correct if you read the previous thread on this topic. ND is an average NCAAF program....it is going to be like that for a very long time fellows.

Notice how we don't see the ND apologists and propagandists anymore...i've driven them away hopefully for good.

Congrats to OSU backers on taking advantage of the free money the books gave away yesterday.

Thanks Ise.....I am just screwing around with most of these guys anyway soaking in this last laugh of the NCAAF season....since most times I am way off in my predictions. Do you honestly think I laid 25 units on a game....come on fellows....I should have said I laid 400 units or something like that to make it even more obvious. You are right though....we hear all season about how great ND is....now it's time to reflect on how overrated they truly were....OSU looked like they could beat them anyday of the week and anywhere for that matter. The truth is....ND is a program that is average at best. I am going to soak up this win for a few more days...not b/c i won any more money than usual or anything like that but b/c everything I said turned out to be true....remember i am still a sports fan before a gambler.

well i didn't bet them...and it seemed they were the sharp side and with hindsight 20/20 they obviously weren't. As I said, I hate ND anyway....just b/c they seemed like the sharp side doesn't mean I like them or even bet them....if i bet, I bet to make money and I would have lost yesterday. I may have considered ND +10 or so...as I said, I had only a lean to ND and nothing more. Even though we are all gamblers, we are also sports fan to some degree....this thread is the sports fan in me.

yeah they are a joke...I wish I had taken my own advice. Maybe they should make this one of those "sticky" threads and bring it up every fall. There was just some individual circumstances I thought that might make it a closer game. I mean ND can score and I thought perhaps with some time off and the humiliation of losing to two quality teams they may have come out with some energy. Plus the way the line was moving up and down sort of hinted at the smart money on ND.

Hindsight 20/20 I wish i had bet LSU but I didn't....oh well, I am looking foward to working with you and others next fall for college football and for March Madness.
