If the Army coach took another coaching job, would that team run the option?

Or is that just an Army thing?

Of course they would; no big time passing QB is going to enlist in the Army.

Monkin has been running that system everywhere he has coached. Army hired him purposely for that. The triple option is the only way for the service academies to somewhat level the huge disparity in talent

Air Force and Navy were really up there a few times recently but army seems to be kind of turning the tide.

Would be interesting to see alabama. Run the option

A program would not hire Monken unless they specifically wanted to run the option. As someone said above, Monken has run the option his entire coaching career, mostly under Paul Johnson

It's not just an Army or even a military academy thing. If let's say Georgia Tech had an appetite to run the option again after Collins' disastrous run, then they would probably look to hire Monken
