    Florida fires Dan Mullins

Not surprised. His postgame press conferences are embarrassing. Team sucks too.

LSU is the only vacancy that will get a bug time coach at any cost. LSU, UF, and USC fell hard all at once in less than a season and a half. Nick Saban gets everyone in the SEC replaced eventually.

right but if a coach can beat everyone else, he can survive.

The Gators simply lost to too many schools this year that should beat just based sheerly on having better football players across the board:

    - Kentucky
    - South Carolina
    - Missouri

After this past weekend and the bloodbath incoming next, I seriously hope GT takes a look at Dan Mullen. I just don't think we can afford the current clown's buyout

Mullens act won’t work in Atlanta. The Yellow Jackets deserve better than Mullens. He is a low rent coach who was at the right place at the right time at UF under Urban. Mullens is more of an overachiever than a big time coach at a winning program. Attention to detail is not his forte.

True, but I'll take just about anything compared to the current clown show.

Goldie, how do you feel about being a position coach?

It does not look like LSU is getting a big time coach. USC probably gets Franklin and that will be the only big-timer.

USC and UF definitely will find a cheap Sark. LSU has learned their lesson. No more promoting interim coaches or hiring the next hot shot offensive or defensive coordinator. LSU needs someone who doesn’t have to learn the job and how to compete in the SEC. LSU is already so far behind Alabama and A&M that everyone else in the SEC Weat has caught up and passed them too. LSU hasn’t scared anyone the last 18 months. Everyone takes it to them now.

Urban Meyer must be kicking himself for taking the Jax job with all these big jobs opening. Should have stayed out another year.

But why leave Ohio State to begin with??? Gold mine. Sort of like Nick Saban to Alabama.

I can't remember IF there were any recruiting violations for Ohio State?? But is that why Meyer left??? Guy is pure scum though with his FAKE HEALTH ISSUES. Looked pretty healthy taking a photo with that young hottie weeks ago.

He's a good coach who did a good job, the team just needs to rebuild and since he made some political mistakes last year calling for full stadiums

So, do you blame it on these coaches for the type of program and offensive and defensive schemes.

Or is somebody recruiting away some of the best talent from their respective states?

All top players going to the same 4-5 schools. Nobody else can compete

Other schools keep firing and hiring, won’t make a difference

they are used to championships there or at least competing for one (spurrier, urban meyer types) so they will be able to have the pick of the litter of excellent coaching candidates out there.

Heard this from a guy on the Russillo pod. Think about it, the largest BY FAR recruiting states for talent are California, Texas and Florida.

ALL of those teams stink (in regards to being competitive for the championship).

That's a total mind fugk right there

Scholarship reduction from 105 down to 85 abt two decades ago changed everything.

Just look at history at how many championships usc Florida florida state Texas miami have historically.

Oh yeah, and all those championships oklahoma won? The majority of their rosters were texas HS players.

The scholarship reduction plus TV rights to all conferences changed everything.

That was a long time ago Homie. They have torched through 3 coaches now. They are basically Texas, USC and Michigan- searching for answers.

Florida, miami and Florida state all struggling at the same time is pretty insane actually.

What happened to Florida??? They were contending... and all of a sudden just gave up??? Did the entire 1st string defense die??? Doesn't make any sense??? You have no choice but to fire him. It's an embarrassment.

Football is football, Penn State has been the worst coached team for decades.

They are the second most talented team in the big ten every year, and they never even get to the big ten championship game.

Stupid comment you dumb shit. Florida was in the SEC championship program recently. They aren't Texas, USC or Michigan, all programs that haven't been in their conference championship game for over a decade.

Florida isn't a top program, but they are a clearly a better program than those.

Yeah, Florida is a beacon of success! That’s why they are paying 3 guys not to coach. Stop. Point stands.
